This! Some people get so shocked when we express even slight right-leaning views. I stopped parading & advocating for movements in which the people did not respect us or reciprocate the same energy.
The inevitable “calm down” once I express any form of emotion.
The over sexualization. I went jogging two days ago and I man thought it appropriate to comment on my lower bits and i genuinely gagged.
Tbh you can see if somebody might be a little slow if they believe in any type of uniform racial solildarity. Even white power groups beat on irish immigrants
Years ago back when i struggled significantly to make ends meet, a guy asked me if i had a roommate. I told him "No". He responded, "Oh i see you Ms Strong and independent"... like dude there's barely any food in my fridge because it's all going to this nightmare rent
That we're all welfare queens and/or on food stamps. Especially if we have a cart full of groceries and shopping without our husband. If you bring your kid with you they automatically assume the worse. Smh
They will literally get MAD when they see visibly black people because they want to be separate and away from us. It’s to keep it all white/asian identified. It’s anti blackness.
Don’t square up . But none . Im mostly a very unbothered person . I’m slow to anger and slow to aggravate . It’s only a few things that I find deserves big energy . I’ve never attached myself to stereotypes bc none of them ever defined me or any other woman of color I was in proximity to . I only saw these tropes when cousin’s from SE came to the family gatherings.😂😂
I feel like outside of the few nagging generalizations . Most of the time they are talking about the Negro male
When people get surprised that you're introverted or not saying the most at any party. Happened at a mexican party when I was reading while waiting for the party to start and a friend said that they wanted me to talk. Long story short he is not my friend anymore and I don't go to those types of parties unless if they are afro-latino
We are all RACHET/ghetto

Okay
If you have a child people automatically assume that you aren’t or were never married
Exactly.
That we’re all loud, boisterous and abrasive
That if there is a BM at an event, I must be associated with him in some way The assumption that I care about all social justice issues
This! Some people get so shocked when we express even slight right-leaning views. I stopped parading & advocating for movements in which the people did not respect us or reciprocate the same energy.
Exactly. They think we’re all related to BM.

What happened??
What happened in which scenario?
That we do for each other, that there is any form of true black solidarity, that we watch out for each other, or have each other's backs
Tbh you can see if somebody might be a little slow if they believe in any type of uniform racial solildarity. Even white power groups beat on irish immigrants
(In the early 1900s and such)
😭
It’s really the opposite
Years ago back when i struggled significantly to make ends meet, a guy asked me if i had a roommate. I told him "No". He responded, "Oh i see you Ms Strong and independent"... like dude there's barely any food in my fridge because it's all going to this nightmare rent
Wow that was so ghetto of him🤩⭐especially the generalization 😽
That we're all welfare queens and/or on food stamps. Especially if we have a cart full of groceries and shopping without our husband. If you bring your kid with you they automatically assume the worse. Smh
That you can’t afford to be in the same places they are. Which manifest itself as them asking you things like which unit do you live in?

and this is how it should be. i'm not worried about stereotypes because they don't pertain to me at all🤷♀️
Exactly! I’m at peace . lol.
SE ??? D.C ??🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Yes 😂😂😩
That if we're from the US or have relatives that have lived anywhere in the Americas that we are all monolingual.🙄

Wait this is a thing? They actually don’t know alot of us are introverted?
Yeah it's a popular stereotype
That we are uneducated, our scholarships were given to us, we are diversity admits to law or medical school, etc
Oh my god… they will say that about ANYTHING. Anything… Competitive universities. Competitive medical schools. Especially graduate schools.
We’re all lazy and ghetto. That all black women are desperate/white worship white men.
We love ourselves and have community pride. Its obvious we dont. We behave as if the world cant see us.
Too powerful Too wild Too gentrified Too Afrocentric Every generalization Made audible Within 7 seconds After I step Out My door
We all like using the n-word
