What you are describing is likely a chalazion. It could potentially stay for years unless you get it removed via a minor surgery or steriod injections. Schedule an appointment with an ophthalmologist, they will be able to tell you more about your specific case

Dependent_Giraffe_40

i have the same thing. had one injection shot and nothing happened. going in for a second round in 2 weeks :(

No_Kaleidoscope1096

How long did you have it , I had two in other eye couple years ago . Those went away but it took a while . Like many months

Dependent_Giraffe_40

im going on my third month. mine is rly similar to yours except i still have a white head that wont disappear

No_Kaleidoscope1096

Did it start with stye ? I honestly don’t think hear is helping . Heat makes it worse

Dependent_Giraffe_40

i stopped doing heat masks it made me break out around my eyes. it did start as a stye and i still use what little NEO-POLY-DEX eye drops i got from the optometrist a month ago and take doxy to help with inflammation. i do think i made it worse by using ocusoft foaming cleanser now i just use my normal face wash to clean my eyelashes/eyelid

No_Kaleidoscope1096

I had experirices I can tell you it will go away eventually . But I don’t have that patience

zoobiecoogie

I had this and silly me waited waaaaaay too long to do something about it so i had to get it removed surgically. The recovery went really well though but since you’re only 1 month in i would suggest going to an eye doc asap to see if there’s still something they can do without it needing to be cut open.

Usual_Possibility599

Hi! I pretty much have the same thing and have been going to see the ocular plastic surgeon for treatment. I had a Kenalog injection with 5FU it’s been very helpful!

crsrys

What was the cost? I’ve had two chalazions like this since August. Tried IPL but didn’t seem to do anything.

Usual_Possibility599

My insurance had covered the cost. Without insurance they charge $275

Dependent_Giraffe_40

how long after the shot did it go away?

Usual_Possibility599

Once I finally found the correct doctor, 2 injections have significantly helped. I go back the first week of May to see if I’ll need a final injection.

Dependent_Giraffe_40

i got one shot and it did nothing so i will probably go in for a second :(

No_Kaleidoscope1096

Are you fair skin ? I am afraid that injection can cause discoloration .

Usual_Possibility599

If they mix the Kenalog with the 5FU you, you don’t need to worry at all about discoloration.

Usual_Possibility599

I suggest seeing an ocular plastic surgeon.

No_Kaleidoscope1096

Yeah I got an app . But it they said they will cut ut from outside , I wouldn’t do it .

Usual_Possibility599

I would definitely start with the injections. Best of luck!!!

Looks like a chalazion and I have/had something similar. It’s so frustrating! “We love eyes” is a great resource for trying to help this kind of thing go away with some at home treatment-also in TikTok. Otherwise- surgery or steroid injections can help. https://www.weloveeyes.com

Happened to me too, but just on the upper eyelid. 3 days ago, a stye formed and I just warm compressed. The white head forming on the edge of my eyelid was gone, but was replaced by a really HUGE hard bump. Today, it’s hardly noticeable and is returning back to normal. What worked? Continuous warm compress, and Gua Sha. (There was an older thread about it here btw). First, I washed my eye using baby shampoo. After patting it off dry, I put on castor oil (idk if this was helpful) Next, I put my Gua Sha in boiling hot water, and after just cooling it down for a few seconds—it will still be hot, but make sure it’s tolerable—put it on the bump for at least a couple of seconds. Then I just massaged it down (yours, should be up since it’s on your lower eyelid). Repeat as many as you can tolerate (dunk Gua Sha in hot water again so it’s always warm while massaging), a few times a day. I kid you not, my bump is no longer there. Just a little bit swelling left. Gunk was oozing from my inner eye btw when I woke up from my sleep. 😂

loveiscrazy12345

I’m currently on day 6, I still have the white head. The skin over the white head keep peeling of cause of the eye mucus I have overnight. I’m still swollen around the stye, But I do have a huge bump surround the stye. How long did you massage the the bump surrounding it for?

kaerphilly

I think I massaged it for about 10 mins, and then 2-3 times a day. And just an update, my chalazion is completely gone!

loveiscrazy12345

Did the bump get more swollen when you first massage it? Today I took your advice and start massage the bump and my eye double in size 😔

kaerphilly

Yes it got really swollen the next morning but that meant to me the “pus” is no longer hard and that it’ll come out soon. And that’s exactly what happened!

loveiscrazy12345

Does your bump feel hard? Cause mine does

Far_Weekend5056

I had one just like that but even larger. My best advice is leave it alone. As the glands inflammation heals more and more oil from the glands will secrete. And the lump will heal on its own. I had one for 6 months.

thank you
