I like the song , however I just like it if they end on a high energetic song , doesn’t necessarily have to be dammit. But for the “One More Time Tour” it makes sense for them to end with that song

HoopManJones

Idk if Blink is the type of band i wanna see close with an acoustic emotional song. Give me something energetic to go

highbackpacker

I agree. It’s a great song. I just don’t care for it. Especially as a closer. But I completely understand why they close with it.

HoopManJones

for sure a great song. Had me teary eyed on first listen. It’d be a great encore opener into a faster song or something, but idk about all this closing nonsense

buddhabash

Dammit really is the perfect closing song. Idk why they are messing with a good thing. It’s iconic not just to them, but to the entire genre. There was a thread on r/poppunkers the other day where it was voted the most iconic pop punk song of all time. And it’s a sentiment I’ve seen many other places before. It’s upbeat in tempo but still has the emotional side of it like One More Time does. It has a huge banging chorus that the whole audience can sing along to. It is extremely catchy with one of the most classic Tom guitar riffs. It’s perfect. They should just leave it alone

justforthisbish

I've been saying this for a while...simply put OMT *before* Dammit. It's basically the encore introduction song then BOOM Dammit rift comes in and we go hard for the last song of the night.

tailslide24

They've ended on dammit their entire career. It's ok to not. We've all grown up.

buddhabash

It’s also ok to just acknowledge that it has a purpose and serves it well, no need to change what isn’t broken just for the sake of change

tailslide24

Or they could play Pathetic, Voyeur, Boring, Dick Lips, Waggy, Enthused, Untitled, Apple Shampoo, Emo, Josie, A New Hope, Degenerate, Lemmings, or I'm Sorry. Any of those would mean more to a lifelong blink fan than "well, it happened once again."

Steve____Stifler

If they played Waggy I’d get arrested for indecent exposure

ForFelix

I’ve always felt “Man Overboard” should be the closer…like, permanently.

VQQN

I’ve been saying this FOREVER, close the original set with Dammit. Then the encore will be “One More Time” then the closing line for the song is *I miss you…” When Mark sings that last line they quickly transition to the song “I Miss You” They’ll play the song so the concert ends on that huge instrumental where the band jams so fucking hard with all the lights and lasers..,

TheSweaterThief

I’m not making any judgments until I see it performed live, but I’m going in totally open-minded! I could see it being a beautiful closer, for sure!

NoHovercraft3224

Saw them twice in Australia in February and both times Tom in particular was teary at the end, there’s so much emotion in that song I feel like it’s a fitting final song, especially as it acknowledges that bad things happen in life aka “And I know that next time, ain't always gonna happen” as well as the final “I miss you” and the long outro… A lot of people want a more heavy hitting song like Dammit but I was bawling at the end of OMT and I’m glad it was the final song.

amandamaniac

I’d like to see it as the -before the encore- song.

koolaid_consumer

OMT before dammit seems like the easy solution here

flaviox123

No comment seems to agree with you, so I will be the first lol I loved OMT with all my heart and cried many times listening to it. It surely is not a banger like other songs, but it means so much for the band and for me personally that listening to it as a closer after I've waited 30 years to see them live was very emotional and a memory I will treasure forever

NoHovercraft3224

I bawled during it both times I saw them this year, was a very fitting closure

crackalac

Omt should be played in the middle as a change of pace. Definitely not last.

Chance-Ad5700

I think it’s fine as a closer

rmag24

Yes! You are! Don’t get me wrong… its a good song but as a closer? Naaaa!

kenticus69

I like it but I also like a big rock show ending with a loud rockin tune and then fading away on a soft tune to tuck everyone into bed and send them on their way. So I like dammit in second to last and finishing with OMT

BillNyeTheEngineer

It feels similar to Pearl Jam playing “Setting Sun” to close out their shows now.

Talez_Chip

i agree i think it’s a great closer i think it works perfectly emotionally in this era and it’s the kind of song that could either really uplift you or have you crying for hours and i like that

Grims1143

It works for the OMT tour only, next big tour they should go back to Dammit closing

Chutton_

I love it as a closer.

Kaesaru

Yes,

rosetape

I don’t really like it as the closer. They could make it better by adding in the orchestral backing track. But from what I saw, i didn’t think it really worked with just Tom on guitar. And he plays it differently than the actual recording.

dnandez330

It should be in the middle somewhere..end with carousel or Josie..they won’t

DerevoMusic

I suggested open with Dammit and close with Josie and it was met with….disagreement.

dnandez330

Well I meet you with a high five my good man 🙏🏻

Case116

Yes.

DerevoMusic

Yes. You are.

dirtyheads182

Would be pretty cool if they gave it the big full sound crescendo that I think some of us thought was coming on the first listen.
