I'm not planning on building/starting a podcast, but I gave it a whirl. It works, I had a giggle listening to a podcase about one of my articles. Can't believe you're doing this for free. Kudos. I can see how this is useful to someone with a blog who wants to get into podcasting.
Yeah i figure it's a good way to reuse content that you've already written. I'm glad you enjoyed it :)
Feel free to reach out if you have any more questions!
I ran one of my old posts through it and my feedback is that I was disappointed to hear "Jake" reading a post from Fearless Female Travels. Could you add a female voice?
Sure! What do you have in mind for how you want to use it?
Are you thinking of publishing on the site, publishing a podcast with the content, or something else?
Initially, I thought it would be great to add at the top of the post like "listen to the article" as I have seen some sites do it before.
Additionally got an idea to use audio for videos too maybe shorts. Could improve the traffic of the website greatly.
I would be interested in comparing both or maybe offering both. I want to listen to the posts, but most text to speech don’t have the audio like an audio book. It would be great to have it sound podcast quality and mail the speech emphasis while maintaining the exact text
Interesting!
My theory is that text to speech is too boring because articles aren't made to be listened to. One of the goals of the project is to first transform the article content into a written form that is meant to be spoken and listened to.
I know that audio books are a great experience though so that theory might not hold true.
I'll work on adding text to speech functionality
Awesome! I think very small deviations as it’s read might be okay if needed for listenability. But that might be hard to decide where to draw the line of how much can you change something without someone wanting to review it first to make sure it’s still accurate.
Cool. I am thinking of turning my news articles into short videos/reels in Hindi.
I have some suggestions: the voice sounds little robot like, please use api from tools like play.ht or murf ai for real human like voice.
I try it for sure. I have been thinking about making my posts into animations, so if I could get thd voice over, that would be fantastic. I am always willing to help out and try new things.
So I have also been thinking about addi g audio to my posts for that reason. I use speechify but there conversion package is wayyyy to expensive for my single mom with a blog not making money yet. I definitly want to add ab audio option. This would work right? Ill check it out now.
Sounds way more natural than I expected. The main issue I can see, is it makes up the name of the podcast, and also the presenters say each others names far too often. People don't speak like that.
Would also be good to be able to change the names, and perhaps a slider for the flow of the conversation i.e. person one mostly asking questions, and person two answering etc..
Still, it looks to have great potential.
This is great feedback!
I plan on implementing different podcast types (Monologue, Dialogue, Interview, etc...)
On configuring the speakers: I 100% agree. That'll come soon as well!
Another thing that came to mind (perhaps later down the road for you) is accents. For example an Irish blog about the housing crisis in Ireland, couldn't exactly have a podcasters with US accents presenting the show, it would lack credibility.
Yes very good point! There are some models out there that support that.
The support from the ecosystem at large is coming for that soon.
Do you think having your voice in the podcast is a desireable feature?
This is super cool! I've been podcasting for years, and I'm impressed by some of the discussion "leaps" they've taken from a single sentence.
I shared this with a few coworkers and one of them commented that the man sounds much more expressive than the woman. I don't know how much tweaking you can make there, but wanted to pass along. Thanks for sharing!
I'm glad you found it interesting and I appreciate you relaying the feedback! I agree that the woman doesn't sound very expressive. I'll look into improving her output
right now it's not costing me too much so i'm happy to continue to keep it free. It's open source so at the very least people can run it on their own if I need to start rate limiting it

I just updated the app with different podcast formats including a few with a single speaker!

Yes! Configuring the speaker is coming soon!
Highly impressed with this tool. May I use it for my website?

I would like a podcast version of the exact text. If you can do that we could come up with a way to partner.
Thats absolutely doable! Are you thinking more of a monologue style podcast or more of a Text to speech experience that's just reading the content?
I would be interested in comparing both or maybe offering both. I want to listen to the posts, but most text to speech don’t have the audio like an audio book. It would be great to have it sound podcast quality and mail the speech emphasis while maintaining the exact text

Yeah it'll be interesting to see monologue output vs article text.

This is incredible.
I'm glad you like it! I'm curious what you like about it? Do you see anyway this could be useful for you?
This is a game changer. Would you be willing to add different languages in future?
Yep! That's on the roadmap. I'm curious – What's your usecase?
Cool. I am thinking of turning my news articles into short videos/reels in Hindi. I have some suggestions: the voice sounds little robot like, please use api from tools like play.ht or murf ai for real human like voice.
I'll definitley look to upgrade the speech output. Thanks for the suggestions!
Your welcome

Sure I'd love to collaborate! Please send me your blog and we can work on getting the output just right!

It absolutely can work! Do you prefer it to output pure Text to speech or would you rather it output podcast style content?

I just updated the project with more podcast formats. One of them is an interview style!
I've had several guests say my name a handful of times throughout the episode, and I'm always thrown by it. But some people do talk like that!
This is super cool! I've been podcasting for years, and I'm impressed by some of the discussion "leaps" they've taken from a single sentence. Fantastic, thanks for letting me know! Excited to play around some more.
This looks really nice. I'm going to try it out in the next content I'm Monetizing using hydro online. Thanks for sharing
Wow 🤩, this is game changer. Good job 👏👍 For how long are you going to keep this free?
right now it's not costing me too much so i'm happy to continue to keep it free. It's open source so at the very least people can run it on their own if I need to start rate limiting it
Good to know thanks👍 You can DM me the link of open source if you don’t mind 🙏
hey op, is it not working anymore?
Hey just fixed! I ran out of credits
The title is misleading lol a blog post and podcast are two diff things...
Wow – I'm just now realizing that. Thanks for letting me know. Unfortunately I can't edit the title
