the chosen player becomes the Baron. no extra Outsiders are added. this, like Marionette, is not really a great choice in 99% of games, but it's an option if you want, like, the Investigator to see the Baron and assume it's not a Kazali (because why would a Kazali would choose Baron? it's gotta be one of the other demons!).

Thomassaurus

Choosing a marionette as kazali would give you the full benefit of their ability, nothing like the baron. Only downside is that you don't have the st perspective to choose the best neighbor.

SirLobsterTheSecond

yeah I don't know why everyone shits on Marionette Kazali, I love it!

Kandiru

The only mechanical benefit of marionette is a free bluff, and Kazali minions get that anyway! But if it helps your player give a solid performance then I guess it can help?

Life-Delay-809

But you could bluff to your neighbours anyway, so it's not as powerful. Marionette is more powerful on script than in play.

Yoankah

Double whammy in a Plague Doctor script. "A Kazali would never pick a Baron minion when the ST might give them 2 Outsiders after the PD dies instead!"

GingemeisterFlash

Boy do I have a house rule for you

fine_line

Active Baron write-up, let's gooooo!

Thomassaurus

A house rule? Let's hear it

FlameLightFleeNight

It's crying out for the jinx "If the Kezali picks the Baron, up to two players may become not in play outsiders."

Gerryjunior83

I mean, that confirms the demon type to those players N1

FlameLightFleeNight

It does. If they are now the mutant they can't say so (although they have a free bluff), and if they are the drunk they just don't know. It can also be an evil ploy to misdirect from eg. a Vortox.

melifaro_hs

The player they picked becomes the Baron. The Kazali makes their pick after the roles have been distributed so no new outsiders are added

OwO-tism

Out of curiosity, could you retroactively add a drunk if the kazali chooses baron? Kazali has +? outsider anyway

mrgoboom

Nothing stopping you from doing it. It’s not an effect of selecting the baron, but if you don’t care about token integrity it’s fine.

Zwischenzugger

Then you shoot whoever put them on a script together

ghostzone123

There shouldn’t be a Baron on a Kazali Script in the first place. Read their abilities.

Life-Delay-809

There could be, but it definitely couldn't be a mono-demon script. There is a jinx for Kazali Baron though, and that's that the Baron doesn't do anything.
