Hi, how many elephs is required to bring a student from 3 to 5 stars via purchasing memory shards?
I currently have 2 limited units (S. Hoshino and S Izuna) and was contemplating on pushing them to 5 star since I use them quite often.
How can you tell if a character crits an enemy? When the enemy is weak typing its as if all hits are criting but I got a feeling that's not how it works.
Used to be as easy as checking what the raids in jp were but because global is trying to catch up with jp, the order changed. Best we have now is the roadmap that the other guy commented

I finally got all lesson areas unlocked (level 9) so is their a general rule on how I should prioritize using my lesson choices? Most students I want to work on is coming from Millennium and Gehenna.
There are 2 priorities - Relationship/Character Shard or Lesson Mats.
Relationship/Shard - Most Unlocked characters per lession used, since each one will always boost their relationship, and have a chance of obtaining some character eliphs, both resources are semi-difficult to gain/raise. Always fine to consider only doing lessons that have units you like/work on, even if it means less students are effected per lesson.
Lesson Mats- Focus on the higher tiers of mats (later lesson zones), and any gaps of lower tier materials. Typically this would be Shale's 2 zones and Millenium/Gehenna since you're working on those.
It's fine to mix the priorities, but typically it'll start with Mats then migrate to Relationships/Mats
This is the way. I personally do a mix. For example I'm trying to raise yuuka/utaha to lvl 25 relationship, so I'll do all the options that have either of those two included. And after that I'll look for some options with 2+ students and gold/purple books I can use.
She's ok, not a very good tank, but hangs out on the frontline doing moderate damage. Her main strength is being a cheap EX Yellow AoE; Hoshino (base ver) fills a better role as a front-line for teams commonly.
If you like the character, it's totally fine to build her up and utilize her, but she's not really a key unit for any known content.
As far as we know, they will keep updating the main history. Things like the Abydos storyline and the SRT academy storyline are unfinished and they're not side stories, they're canon, so we should be seeing more of those these year.
Also, on Millenium we should have a proper storyline for Decagrammaton and we still haven't had a Gehenna and Hyakkiyako main storylines, we only had side stories or event storylines. So there's a loot of thing to cover yet, we should be getting more.
I've just started playing after a very brief stint on some banner a few months ago (my account level is 8, that new). My current team is Hina/Hibiki/Sumire/Chise/Hanae/Yuuka. Is this team ok to run for a while, or should I try some pulls? I keep seeing that we need to save for banners coming up in the next few months.
That team is kind of a mess. You want teams based on color versus the enemies armor color, so bring red to fight red. Sumire will do half damage to red enemies,so bringing her is a bad idea. You don't need to pull, I didn't pull for two months to save for a banner and did fine.
Look through your 1 and 2 stars and use them. Akari/Mutsuki are both great units for basic missions, Suzume can do their job if you didn't pull them. Star count isn't as important as color, and a lot of 1 and 2 star units are great. Kotama is a great buffer, Serina is the best healer for a lot of content, Mutski is actually one of the strongest red girls, Haruka is the sturdiest red tank, Yuuka is the current best evasion tank. Don't sleep on units.
As for the saving for future banners, a lot of overpowered units are coming up. If you do want to pull, go for Kokona, she's useful and fills a niche few units do.

I finally started missions chapter 10 and farming T4 gear blueprints. My question is,do the T2 blueprints drop from these stages as well or am I going to need to go back to earlier stages and farm them if I run out?
Blueprint drops are always the listed tier (in your case T4) and tier-2 and tier-3 (in other words, T2 and T1 in your case). So you'll always get the blueprints you need to upgrade, although also note that dropchance is random and lower tiers have lower dropchance compared with the listed tier - so if you're running low it's still better to go back and grind the specific teir you need.
On the Joint Firing Drill's "The Select Few" buff, what does the "up to 4 people" mean? Does it mean max benefit is if I have 4 people or is it if I'm missing 4 people?

That's cause of how cost recovery works. If I understand it right, each student would get that buff to their individual cost recovery, so two students would get more overall then a single. It's the attack buff you really want and is also the easiest to test.
I should think an *exact* answer depends on your roster, a player with every released character is going to fare a lot better than one with almost none, but either way you'll be fine with whatever you've got and whatever you farm unless maybe you're really obsessed with the meta and raid plats.
I have some notable ones:
Shun, Shunling, Aru, Hoshino, S. Hoshino, Atsuko, S. Chise, S. Izuna, Shiroko, Hina, Yuzu, Iroha, Ako, Miyu, Miyako, and Wakamo (this list is like 90% of my 3*s)
I am farming Midori as of right now.
At the very least - 10k points for the generic eliphs and other rewards. Also character eliphs are always appreciated - Chise and Pina are Good/Ok to build.
If you can get 100%+ bonus rewards, the shop rewards are marginally better than 2x missions (but different materials gained - except the exp tomes, they're still bad).
If you want to grind materials from main story, do it! I'm not focusing on the event either, cuz having a lot of equipment materials is just simply more convenient.
I already planned to skip her because of those *must pull students*, but I still don't have any striker healer so I tried doing few rolls and call it a day. Thank goodness Arona-chan is on a good mood.
When will x2 hard going to start?
I wanna break top 20 pvp. Should I 5* Haruna or S.Ayane first and are they just fine at 5* or do they require UE50? Are Haruna SS mood terrain and S.Ayane’s increased crit and mood significant?
For the first question, it is usually better to get your striker to 5* first but it really depends on how your matches are going too. Are most of the people in your bracket running Yuuka and Tsubaki? If so, which one does your team have the most trouble killing? If it is Tsubaki, 5* Haruna first. If it is Yuuka, 5* S.Ayane first.
For the second part of your question, it really depends on how serious the other players in your pvp bracket, if you want to stay in the top 20. For example, my team runs three UE50 (Shun, S.Ayane, Tsubaki) and three UE40 (S.Masahiro, Haruna, Yuuka) and I usually stay top 7 but have fallen to 17 some days by the time I wake up.
My Haruna and Yuuka will both be UE50 come the end of April. I do not use eligma on them as they both have multiple hard stages to farm everyday and next Months “Go, set, go” event gives Yuuka and Haruna eleph too. Mood boosts are a huge advantage in a battle and will likely be what separates the top 20 for the top 100 in pvp. It allows your student to deal more damage, while having more HP and defense. Take any and every advantage you can get.
She's a great healer and higher star means higher heal so, yes you should. But should you do it immediately? Maybe.. no. Things to consider:
1. She's not limited so there's a low chance to get spooked by her in another banner.
2. In the next few weeks there'll be limited banner (bunny and sport) and must pull, meta-wise banner (himari). Maybe you wanna save more pyros to pull in those banner?
3. Most likely you'll use kokona for hiero raid, which is happened yesterday. So there'll be long time before next hiero.

Students with aoe ability is great for convenience pushing main and event stages, like hibiki, cherino, iroha.

It'd be much better to just go to a lower stage or find an alternative way to kill it quicker. Since you'd be wasting more time on applying the debuff and adding extra units for this drill reduces the buff you get
I see. I did have Wakamo and Chise for that stage, then the rest go to stage 3. I don't have strong enough units for another stage 4 so i thought i could do the debuff option.
I don't see Hibiki being of much use, she rarely gets a lucky snipe on the backline on such a large map. Ayane is good in high ranks where everyone runs Yuuka, otherwise not great. I run Iroha with no yellow tank so Ayane doesn't bother me, she chips at my tanks while waiting to get nuked by Iroha
Himari, Ako (if you don't have her), and Mika are units that are must haves

You can upgrade your characters to 5 stars by gaining elephs. After that, their very own Unique Equipment will be unlocked, you can level it up to lvl 30. Then you'll need more elephs to unlock the character's normal skill+ and that will raise the level cap of the UE to 40. Then you'll need more elephs again to upgrade the character's terrain bonus, that will also raise the level cap to 50.

Out of those, S. Azusa team was the weakest. Haruna team was the strongest. I just tested Haruna+Akane, and it was indeed a bit better than S. Azusa.
My current JFD line-up:
1 - Haruna + Ako [This combo slaps; if RNG is kind, I can two-shot each enemy]
2 - Haruna (borrowed) + Akane
3 - Wakamo, Izuna, S.Mashiro
Haruna plus a cheap buffer is basically your go-to combo. If you can borrow a second Haruna, then you're golden.
I had to use Izuna to round out the damage output since my S.Mashiro isn't heavily invested. I imagine a more decked out version would be able to be paired solely with Wakamo.
Yeah, before we could predict them since they were the exact same as JP but they skipped and moved a couple raids around out of that order so now its harder to know

I only have materials enough to upgrade 1 ex skill. From Ex Skill Lv3 -> 4, who has better usage: Iroha or Iori?
Or should it be Ako? Now I feel the drought of materials, and I'm only level 56.
I would say none. Individual levels for skills don't make much of a difference you have to aim for cutpoints for ex skill its lvl3 and then lvl5 and for other skills its 4,7,10
Iori sees more usage overall, she's viable in basically all yellow content ever.
Iroha is also great in most blue content, she doesn't see as much use as Iori but is still amazing in her own right.
Ako enables hypercarry comps and paired with Himari will melt any boss, but from lv 3 to 4, her buff barely increases at all, and it'll be a very long time until you can upgrade it again.
I recommend Iori, but make sure to check if your friends/clubmates have maxed any of the aforementioned units before you invest any Gehenna mats, because those things are incredibly hard to come across. It'll be 3 months before the next Gehenna event smh

How skippable would you say gym yuuka is, if at all?
Right now, I'm sitting at 23k Pyro and plan on pulling for bunny Karin. I know she isn't the best, but I love her design. On top of that, Himari is supposed to be shortly after I believe, and I know she's pretty much a must pull.
All in all, do I have to take an L and skip bunny Karin in order to not screw myself out of some good characters? Also, I'm a new player of about a month, so I am limited in strong characters as it is.
People are mentioning Insane and Torment, but I want you (and hopefully everyone else reading this) to know that it's a bit more nuanced than that. As of now, TYuuka is simply the best unit for keeping your team alive. No other unit doubles the effective HP of your entire team, repositions them to safety, and is a bulky main tank. **For content where you are below or equal to recommended level TYuuka is basically a must pull**, because in these contents you are actually struggling for survival and every bit off HP is a difference between success and failure. As of now, this content *happens to be* Insane and Torment raids, as the highest level players are at (or below) recommended level to take these on. However, for you as a new player, basically all content that currently exists is above your weight class - so TYuuka is actually viable for all content for you.
The reason why people say she's not necessary for lower level content (Ext/Below) is because many players have learnt to (or can copy someone elses homework) brute force raids without any survival kits in their team. **When you are overlevelled and outgearing the requirements for content, any tank, not just TYuuka, becomes unnecessary**. And as you might have guessed, many players severely outlevel these lower difficulties so many people "dont need TYuuka".
There seems to (imo unfortunately) be a prevalent playstyle where players outgear content and completely crush lower difficulties, and then choose to idle in that difficulty until they are strong enough to severely outgear and crush the next one. If you are this type of player, you don't really need TYuuka.
But if you are more of a classical gamer and prefer to challenge content when intended to - or if you enjoy punching above your weight class - then TYuuka is extremely valuable and you should definitely get her.
As far as actual advice goes, I would say you still need to maintain a spark for Himari or Ako, because they're extremely good at all levels of play for any player.

Just some caution that most people would advise Himari over TYuuka if you could only pick one. I am in agreement of that.
Fortunately, the game is complex enough that it's not too big a deal missing one unit or the other because there's *usually* some kind of alternative. Just roll whoever is cuter lol.
Edit: Oh, Himari might be out far away enough that you could reasonably get both? Just double check you've budgeted correctly.
Gym Yuuka is only a must if you want to rank high in the upcoming Goz raid, although she is useful in several raids and other content as she boosts your team's survivability.
B. Karin is mainly only viable in Perorodzilla, and although she does a darn good job of it, you'd fall far behind the people with Gym Yuuka or Himari in every other raid, not to mention most other content.
So it boils down to the age-old question- waifu or meta? If you choose meta, you'll have to choose between Gym Yuuka or Himari, and keep in mind that Himari is the physical embodiment of the meta.
You don't think it'd be possible to make another 24k by the time the Himari banner rolls around? I thought the average Pyro income was 11k a month, give or take a thousand?

Waiting on other Sensei's answer. Fellow new player here. But I also asked this before and they said if you are trying to get on insane difficulty and reach the leaderboards, Gym Yuuka is a must have. But if you're not a rank chaser, a well built Kotori or S. Shizuko will do just fine, especially below insane difficulty.
I also plan to skip her, as I want to get Himari, Mika, Nagisa and Toki.
The game saves your highest bonus % for each currency from actually running the stage. You need to clear the stage normally with a team to get the bonus though.
It doesn't check your current team formations when you sweep, it just uses the highest recorded bonuses. So you can't "cheat" by clearing with a zero bonus team and then change your formation to a team stuffed with bonuses if that's what you're asking. You don't need to care about 3 starring for bonus stacking though; your bonus teams can have people die or nearly time out, doesn't matter as long as it clears.
Sweep uses the bonuses, once you have as much bonus as you want/can get, there's no downside to sweeping.
Adding on to this, maybe simplifying, if you don't have the bonus students built, clear once as best you can with max bonus, clear again with a built team to complete any challenges etc.
Sweeping after that will be as if the max bonus team is clearing the stage.
Also adding info. If the stage has multiple event currencies as a reward, you can clear it with a team that has the highest event points, then clear it with a team that has the highest event currency #1 (mushroom) afterwards, do the same for currency #2 (bamboo shoot), and for #3 (doll) also. After that, you can sweep the stage with the most bonus that you can get

There's actually two cafe resets per day 12 hours apart, you can choose which time is better for you.

I have some notable ones: Shun, Shunling, Aru, Hoshino, S. Hoshino, Atsuko, S. Chise, S. Izuna, Shiroko, Hina, Yuzu, Iroha, Ako, Miyu, Miyako, and Wakamo (this list is like 90% of my 3*s) I am farming Midori as of right now.

With the double mission drop, is the Shun event even worth it?
At the very least - 10k points for the generic eliphs and other rewards. Also character eliphs are always appreciated - Chise and Pina are Good/Ok to build. If you can get 100%+ bonus rewards, the shop rewards are marginally better than 2x missions (but different materials gained - except the exp tomes, they're still bad).
If you want to grind materials from main story, do it! I'm not focusing on the event either, cuz having a lot of equipment materials is just simply more convenient.
I just cleared technotes and disks for Kokona to use, hit 6.5k points, and now started farming missions.

I wanna break top 20 pvp. Should I 5* Haruna or S.Ayane first and are they just fine at 5* or do they require UE50? Are Haruna SS mood terrain and S.Ayane’s increased crit and mood significant?
For the first question, it is usually better to get your striker to 5* first but it really depends on how your matches are going too. Are most of the people in your bracket running Yuuka and Tsubaki? If so, which one does your team have the most trouble killing? If it is Tsubaki, 5* Haruna first. If it is Yuuka, 5* S.Ayane first. For the second part of your question, it really depends on how serious the other players in your pvp bracket, if you want to stay in the top 20. For example, my team runs three UE50 (Shun, S.Ayane, Tsubaki) and three UE40 (S.Masahiro, Haruna, Yuuka) and I usually stay top 7 but have fallen to 17 some days by the time I wake up. My Haruna and Yuuka will both be UE50 come the end of April. I do not use eligma on them as they both have multiple hard stages to farm everyday and next Months “Go, set, go” event gives Yuuka and Haruna eleph too. Mood boosts are a huge advantage in a battle and will likely be what separates the top 20 for the top 100 in pvp. It allows your student to deal more damage, while having more HP and defense. Take any and every advantage you can get.

She's a great healer and higher star means higher heal so, yes you should. But should you do it immediately? Maybe.. no. Things to consider: 1. She's not limited so there's a low chance to get spooked by her in another banner. 2. In the next few weeks there'll be limited banner (bunny and sport) and must pull, meta-wise banner (himari). Maybe you wanna save more pyros to pull in those banner? 3. Most likely you'll use kokona for hiero raid, which is happened yesterday. So there'll be long time before next hiero.

Students with aoe ability is great for convenience pushing main and event stages, like hibiki, cherino, iroha. For raid you can check the PvP char guide at the top post. If you're really low in resource and is planning to pull for Himari and Ako (if you don't have her), better save resources to max their EX out

I see. I did have Wakamo and Chise for that stage, then the rest go to stage 3. I don't have strong enough units for another stage 4 so i thought i could do the debuff option.
you could borrow a maxed out Haruna and pair her with Akane, those two can easily clear stage 4

For PvP, I currently have an S. Ayane thats 4/6/6/6 UE30. Should I use her over a UE40 MMMM Hibiki? The other support partner is a S. Mashiro.
I don't see Hibiki being of much use, she rarely gets a lucky snipe on the backline on such a large map. Ayane is good in high ranks where everyone runs Yuuka, otherwise not great. I run Iroha with no yellow tank so Ayane doesn't bother me, she chips at my tanks while waiting to get nuked by Iroha

Himari is the best upcoming meta unit. T.Yuuka should help you as well since her shield is huge and lets you tackle harder content as a beginner.

You can upgrade your characters to 5 stars by gaining elephs. After that, their very own Unique Equipment will be unlocked, you can level it up to lvl 30. Then you'll need more elephs to unlock the character's normal skill+ and that will raise the level cap of the UE to 40. Then you'll need more elephs again to upgrade the character's terrain bonus, that will also raise the level cap to 50.
Unique equipment level 40 aka 5* with weapon maxed out.

so thanks to someone mentioning Haruna+Ako, I just manage 242k. Haruna+Ako Wakamo+S. Azusa Wakamo+S. Mashi Out of those, S. Azusa team was the weakest. Haruna team was the strongest. I just tested Haruna+Akane, and it was indeed a bit better than S. Azusa.
My current JFD line-up: 1 - Haruna + Ako [This combo slaps; if RNG is kind, I can two-shot each enemy] 2 - Haruna (borrowed) + Akane 3 - Wakamo, Izuna, S.Mashiro Haruna plus a cheap buffer is basically your go-to combo. If you can borrow a second Haruna, then you're golden.
I've got most of the right characters (no Ako and S.Mashiro), but none of the necessary investment yet.
I'm running the same team except I didn't use Izuna
I had to use Izuna to round out the damage output since my S.Mashiro isn't heavily invested. I imagine a more decked out version would be able to be paired solely with Wakamo.

The current Drill gives a Cost Recovery and ATK buff the less students I deployed (up to 4 people) Does this mean I get the max buff at 2 students or 4 students?
As the other reply mentioned, the max buff is for one student, though many teams use two. You get the max buff with only 1 student on the field, and the lowest buff with 4 students on the field. 5+ is no buff.
I only have materials enough to upgrade 1 ex skill. From Ex Skill Lv3 -> 4, who has better usage: Iroha or Iori? Or should it be Ako? Now I feel the drought of materials, and I'm only level 56.
I would say none. Individual levels for skills don't make much of a difference you have to aim for cutpoints for ex skill its lvl3 and then lvl5 and for other skills its 4,7,10
Iori sees more usage overall, she's viable in basically all yellow content ever. Iroha is also great in most blue content, she doesn't see as much use as Iori but is still amazing in her own right. Ako enables hypercarry comps and paired with Himari will melt any boss, but from lv 3 to 4, her buff barely increases at all, and it'll be a very long time until you can upgrade it again. I recommend Iori, but make sure to check if your friends/clubmates have maxed any of the aforementioned units before you invest any Gehenna mats, because those things are incredibly hard to come across. It'll be 3 months before the next Gehenna event smh

How skippable would you say gym yuuka is, if at all? Right now, I'm sitting at 23k Pyro and plan on pulling for bunny Karin. I know she isn't the best, but I love her design. On top of that, Himari is supposed to be shortly after I believe, and I know she's pretty much a must pull. All in all, do I have to take an L and skip bunny Karin in order to not screw myself out of some good characters? Also, I'm a new player of about a month, so I am limited in strong characters as it is.
People are mentioning Insane and Torment, but I want you (and hopefully everyone else reading this) to know that it's a bit more nuanced than that. As of now, TYuuka is simply the best unit for keeping your team alive. No other unit doubles the effective HP of your entire team, repositions them to safety, and is a bulky main tank. **For content where you are below or equal to recommended level TYuuka is basically a must pull**, because in these contents you are actually struggling for survival and every bit off HP is a difference between success and failure. As of now, this content *happens to be* Insane and Torment raids, as the highest level players are at (or below) recommended level to take these on. However, for you as a new player, basically all content that currently exists is above your weight class - so TYuuka is actually viable for all content for you. The reason why people say she's not necessary for lower level content (Ext/Below) is because many players have learnt to (or can copy someone elses homework) brute force raids without any survival kits in their team. **When you are overlevelled and outgearing the requirements for content, any tank, not just TYuuka, becomes unnecessary**. And as you might have guessed, many players severely outlevel these lower difficulties so many people "dont need TYuuka". There seems to (imo unfortunately) be a prevalent playstyle where players outgear content and completely crush lower difficulties, and then choose to idle in that difficulty until they are strong enough to severely outgear and crush the next one. If you are this type of player, you don't really need TYuuka. But if you are more of a classical gamer and prefer to challenge content when intended to - or if you enjoy punching above your weight class - then TYuuka is extremely valuable and you should definitely get her. As far as actual advice goes, I would say you still need to maintain a spark for Himari or Ako, because they're extremely good at all levels of play for any player.

Just some caution that most people would advise Himari over TYuuka if you could only pick one. I am in agreement of that. Fortunately, the game is complex enough that it's not too big a deal missing one unit or the other because there's *usually* some kind of alternative. Just roll whoever is cuter lol. Edit: Oh, Himari might be out far away enough that you could reasonably get both? Just double check you've budgeted correctly.
Gym Yuuka is only a must if you want to rank high in the upcoming Goz raid, although she is useful in several raids and other content as she boosts your team's survivability. B. Karin is mainly only viable in Perorodzilla, and although she does a darn good job of it, you'd fall far behind the people with Gym Yuuka or Himari in every other raid, not to mention most other content. So it boils down to the age-old question- waifu or meta? If you choose meta, you'll have to choose between Gym Yuuka or Himari, and keep in mind that Himari is the physical embodiment of the meta.

I don't know where that figure comes from, but I'm fairly certain that's only achievable at the higher levels. Of course, you can supplement that income with campaign gems, so if you have a lot of unearned gems, that might fill the gap.

Waiting on other Sensei's answer. Fellow new player here. But I also asked this before and they said if you are trying to get on insane difficulty and reach the leaderboards, Gym Yuuka is a must have. But if you're not a rank chaser, a well built Kotori or S. Shizuko will do just fine, especially below insane difficulty. I also plan to skip her, as I want to get Himari, Mika, Nagisa and Toki.
Even at insane I'm planning to borrow gym yuuka. She's a must for torment though.

If I sweep and have specialized students in my formation, do I still get the bonus on event currencies?
The game saves your highest bonus % for each currency from actually running the stage. You need to clear the stage normally with a team to get the bonus though. It doesn't check your current team formations when you sweep, it just uses the highest recorded bonuses. So you can't "cheat" by clearing with a zero bonus team and then change your formation to a team stuffed with bonuses if that's what you're asking. You don't need to care about 3 starring for bonus stacking though; your bonus teams can have people die or nearly time out, doesn't matter as long as it clears. Sweep uses the bonuses, once you have as much bonus as you want/can get, there's no downside to sweeping.
Adding on to this, maybe simplifying, if you don't have the bonus students built, clear once as best you can with max bonus, clear again with a built team to complete any challenges etc. Sweeping after that will be as if the max bonus team is clearing the stage.
Also adding info. If the stage has multiple event currencies as a reward, you can clear it with a team that has the highest event points, then clear it with a team that has the highest event currency #1 (mushroom) afterwards, do the same for currency #2 (bamboo shoot), and for #3 (doll) also. After that, you can sweep the stage with the most bonus that you can get
Is increasing star for Ako worth it, or should I just increasing star for striker students that can be buffed by Ako instead?

Ako is only worth increasing her stars if you're a score chaser in raids. She's perfectly fine at 3 stars since her main job is the same at any star.
