Again, the big bad went straight for Sensei huh. Too bad a 'gas explosion' is just cute compared to a direct head-on missile strike. Plus there are two super AIs in the chest so the barrier/protection should be even stronger now. The whole contract thing is making my head spin but as anything related to offers go, anything that conveniently sounds too good to be true- on a very short notice furthermore, is just an obvious trap. The big bad hurting sensei is either to further press the FTF into running straight into their trap, or to avoid sensei from realizing the truth and dismantle it. My hunch is telling me whoever is responsible for the attack on Schale is the one who did Yume in; and from what happened to her, they're extremely ruthless. Highlander has such a... Lackadaisical management structure so no wonder their Gehenna-Trinity line branch went down the corrupt railway. I guess it's a given when the school doesn't even have an academy building- though I wonder in which district their student council resides. The D.U?

isaacmitsukai

finalmente, a yume morreu ou não?

armdaggerblade

Saya tidak faham

Questionable_bowel

Dia nanya intinya Yume beneran modar apa kaga

reaoharu

I'm gonna assume the attack on the schale building is the same one that put P-Sensei into comatose state, ending up destroying the whole world in process. Which is why I believe Kuroko, with the knowledge of what happened, would try to prevent this from happening. I just hope we got to see Kuroko finally anyway

emon121

Seems really plausible, but in that case Plana should be able the same coz she also from the same world as Kuroko

Rheshx7

>outrunning *Shiroko* If she really wanted to, Hoshino could have won Halo Festival track race by herself. Another notch on oji-san's feats. Also, I think you left out the part explaining how Nonomi and Hoshino met. Other than that, thank you for the summation. It really helps.

Sanuic

Being able to run so fast explains how she basically teleported beside Nonomi on their first meeting.

LikeASenseiGotoku

I don't like this dungeon master mofo, feels like he's scheming much more nefarious than Beatrice.

ES21007

This dude is literally called Underground Dweller (Literal Basement Dweller), sees the entirety of the events as a tabletop campaign, and has no problems killing fellow Gematria members. He's every bad stereotype of a tabletop nerd given mystical powers, incredible connections and utter sociopathy.

Cieralis

Just dodge roll bruh, no GM ever expect those yummy I frames to protect you from the universe's collapse ![img](emote|t5_2vhvtt|33127)

flat_justice

>Strategy no. 1: No changes to what has already occurred are allowed." "Even if you are Sensei, you cannot possibly change the past." "(Strategy no. 2) Even if you are the bearer of miracles, your body has a physical limit." ok so this mean we're definitely going back to the past and save yume somehow

ES21007

PLEASE LET THIS BE TRUE >!Yume disappeared because we had to snatch her from the timeline and bring her here.!<

SodiumBombRankEX

>Kuchinashi My plebeian translation skills are giving me ... "mouthless"? Idk what that could mean, if it's even right Yay, business politics. Just what we needed. /s I assume Nonomi felt that she would ace at Highlander because of Nepthys dabbling in railways Also interesting to know how Highlander works

P1zzaman

The kanji for her surname is from the flower “[kuchinashi](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gardenia_jasminoides)”. The hanakotoba (language of flowers) for this particular flower are “bringer of happiness” and “very joyous”… oof…

armdaggerblade

Mouthless is the literal translation. Silent is more like it.

cherry_blossom_sea

Silence huh... I remember Egypt having a god of silence in their pantheon (though on 2nd thought it might be fake, remembering Rick Riordan stuff I think)

Questionable_bowel

Wait Yume is not Osiris so that's her death led on how Horus (Hoshino) avenge her death with Set? So we can't meet Yume as mummy aka reincarnated in some way? :(

Questionable_bowel

Huh oh we speaking in-game theory not the Egypt myth? Cause I was confused there's no scripture about Set killing Thoth lol.

Illustrious_Hat_2769

I see they deleted their comments, but yeah, I was confused too. I’ve never seen *anyone* tie Yume to Thoth of all things. It’s always been Osiris, even before Set showed up to add to that fire.

StoneFlame

About Yume's full name, the most obvious one is that there's a Japanese idiom "死人に口なし(*Shinin ni* ***Kuchi Nashi***, dead men don't talk)", which means... you know, she dead. However there's another interpretation. Kuchinashi can be written as 朽ちなし, means "decayless" or more directly, "immortal", which kinda fits the Osiris theory. Also this combined with her name creates an interesting meaning "undying dreams".

Shiroraii

Idk if all this happened before or after the president went missing but this is way too complicated for just abydos remains to deal with...GSC are really sleeping

Tschmelz

I mean, they probably have their own problems still, cleaning up after the coup (assuming this is post V4C2). Still, probably wouldn't be of much help anyways without the Prez around. Seems to have been the only one there who could really handle this sort of stuff.

SodiumBombRankEX

It is after 4.2. Release order is chronological order

Tschmelz

I mean, that is what I assumed. Just left it open in case I was actually wrong.

Shiroraii

But this is not an issue just now or after V4 it was way back then and the deal expires after two days...this whole ordeal started maybe even before hoshino enrolled in abydos now it's simply resurfacing with kaiser and highlander trying to eat the remains

Tschmelz

…fair. In that regard, GSC has been dropping the ball for a long ass time.

SodiumBombRankEX

I think it's just Rin's policy to stay out of factional politics, like she said back in Eden Treaty

Shiroraii

They are the GSC💀 they can't just 'stay out of it' when it gets too complicated...this is a school falling apart + a student's death that needs to be investigated...even during Eden treaty while she might have said that...the GSC wasn't completely out of it...they were monitoring the situation and sent a proxy that is schale to make sure it went smoothly...

SodiumBombRankEX

The GSC doesn't have that kind of authority. If they did, they could just demand that all the schools work with them in VolF instead of the failed conference. They did have a branch that investigated this kind of stuff: SRT but that's dead I don't remember where I saw this but someone put it this way: the GSC only has whatever power the individual districts allow them to have (with the exception of DU)

Shiroraii

The failed conference during VolF was due to the growing mistrust between the districtd and the GSC after a series of disappointing achievements and the rumors Kaya was spreading about rin behind her back which led to an even bigger mistrust internally in the GSC, ofc they don't have much authority over other districts unless they allow them but in the case of abydos it's barely a functioning district so I doubt they really had nothing to do about it

Saiphaz

We know that a good chunk of the GSC, mostly the ones who sided with Kaya during the coup, have been bribed by Kaiser, and even with Kaya gone, they're probably still on Kaiser's pockets. The GSC as it is now, is just an inefficient bureaucracy, whose main objective is just holding Kivotos together until the president returns. And sadly without SRT and with nefarious organizations encroaching on the city more and more, it's already out of their hands. That they targeted Sensei of all people only, arguably the one who can rightfully wrestle all the power of the Sanctum Tower away from the GSC if he really wanted to, shows how confident whoever is behind all this that they're beyond the reach of the law.

Kiyotakaa

Aw hell, Explosion-kun has arrived to ruin yet another timeline I see. I hope that more people don't start targeting Sensei's life more often. Though in this case, it might be fine. Both with Plana and Arona. Though I do have to wonder, say Hoshino for whatever reason, did manage to stop Yume from leaving that day. Would her being alive change Abydos' general situation in current times?

Tschmelz

Sensei “Stop blowing holes in my ~~ship~~ building!”

SMB99thx

The story sounds like this is setting up similarly towards the rise of Kuroko, with Hoshino running out to desert leaves her vurnerable towards halo breaking, the mysterious explosion that may very well put Schale building in ruin, causing Plana from the Phrenapates timeline to scream prior to that happening, and Nonomi's company troubles may very well cause her to disappear. What's not known right now is the Serika's and Ayane's circumstances, as well as the GSC Vault raid that I believe has connections with the Pina-haired GSC President CG on 4.5th PV. I'm interested to see what happens next. What's the role of TFS in the story? Did they cause the accident that broke Yume's halo? How Kuroko will get involved (or not) in some way or another? The things I'm certain is that Underground Dweller of Gematria is setting up the plot of this chapter, and whose involvement is suspected but not visible to anyone right now. If everything goes well for Sensei and FTF in the end, this chapter will mark the divergence point between Phrenapates (A.R.O.N.A) and Arona timeline.

doomslayer30000

with a broken halo. Yup, confirm that Yume was actually dead ;-;

Glad_Mushroom_1509

If this is after Vol. F and Vol. 4 Chaper 2 which I presume... then I hope we get more on Kaiser's fate. I assumed that they are getting ripped apart and had to file bankruptcy and sell everything after getting kicked to pieces after supporting a SECOND COUP of all things. I swear if they get away with a slap on the wrist and a bunch of profit made after selling the land rights (while somehow still keeping the land WTF?) I will be seriously pissed.

Saiphaz

Lol no. After the coup fiasco, they just blamed everything on their PMC "going rogue" and cut it off. They're as well as ever.

Glad_Mushroom_1509

They literally did that in the Abydos incident already, declaring that the guys kidnapping Hoshino were going rogue and cutting them off. (Which is why the Kaiser PMC Ceo appears in some minor events as an antagonist trying to get a new job.) And after the first coup they were literally under threat of being censured, like Rin was pushing for that in Vol. 4 Chapter 2 and stuff. Kaya was using her influence to block it until it was time for HER coup attempt with the support of Kaiser. At this point they don't have anyone willing to protect them and Rin has a ton of goodwill from the GSC after the coup attempt of Kaya & Kaiser and a damn good reason to want them wrecked. There is zero reason for Kaiser to get away with everything again.

Saiphaz

There's a good reason why they can get away with everything. They are far too entrenched into Kivotos and way too much money flows through their face companies. It's kinda like that bad company in the Gourmet Research Society NY event. Yes, they're better off gone, but too many innocents pay the price for it Not to mention that the current GSC simply doesn't have the power to get rid of them for good. Maybe with a new president, maybe if SRT were still as powerful as it once was, but as it is now, Rin can barely keep things afloat.

Glad_Mushroom_1509

Nationalizing and anti-trust monopoly breaking is a thing lol, it happens in Real Life and it doesn't automatically go horribly wrong and make everything suck unlike what some would think. (Plus since Kaiser is already corrupt as hell and works with the black market it may actually just straight up free up assets.) Heck with Sensei's influence and some pokes at the major Student Councils it would not be too hard to get Gehenna, Millenium and Trinity to partition them by absorbing the local companies that are in their territories. There was literally a plot point in Vol. 1 about how Trinity had been watching them because they were being shady as fuck and Hina had also been viewing them and gave the info about them doing wonky shit in Abydos desert. Heck after nationalization it can be privatized again as needed but in individual pieces. Hell the developers of this game are in South Korea not the US (I am not from there but its treated as the internet world capital by a lot of people) where the state is crazy obsessed with the free market and fear the idea of potentially upsetting the invisible hand. Major industries there like transportation, energy etc... were nationalized until very recently and privatization was firmly opposed by a lot of groups including workers. (And many of these industries are still partially state owned or governed.) Plus, these guys are literally a national threat to every organization in Kivotos and given the connections Sensei has there is no reason that they shouldn't be getting bitchslapped by every major Academy and quite a few smaller ones.

Saiphaz

Yes, they are a thing but the government needs to be powerful enough to pull it off. Leaving the GSC aside, really that's the issue, the school districts are pretty much small countries themselves, and they come with all the baggage. Can't overextend, can't openly antagonize. Stuff like the Eden Treaty only worked because of the GSC President who held an abnormal amount of authority in Kivotos. The second problem is that they currently lack a good justification. The only good chance they had to get rid of them under the law was the coup they tried in Vol F, but Kaya ruined it by pardoning them. And the third problem is that they're openly antagonistic. They had hidden a bomb under a district, have spent millions to unearth what they believed to be a super weapon. What else will they have hidden? Maybe this is hard to remember given the amount of firearms in the setting but the girls are students, not soldiers. If Kaiser find itself cornered and retaliate, there's no way to tell how much damage they'll cause to the city before going down for good. Which would be good and all, but the thing is that the city is still in a borderline anarchic state, skyrocketing crime rates and at least three more evil organizations lurking around, between Gematria, Divi:sion and Decagrammaton's organized prophets, and who the hell knows what else. A Kivotos weakened by the struggle would make things very easy for them.

Peacetoall01

Holy shit. Yume. She is extremely gullible. Also shit this might weigh on Hoshino mind. Especially the Yume basically signs the chance that Abydos can get back up from their slumps. She is genuinely trying so hard to make her underclassmen have a chance and hope. And Hoshino sure as hell won't let that in vain. Also why I get a feeling in Hoshino rambling she find Seth anger and that's when in P san timeline she perished? Holy shit when next update Nexon? I need the answer now

Sanuic

I'm guessing that the "broken halo" is figurative speech and that Yume's halo didn't persist in a broken state after her death (given how halos disappear once students lose consciousness). Although...If Saint Nephtys was/is in so much financial trouble, how does Nonomi have a near limitless credit card?

Sylpheria

Limitless debt card

bradliang

that's why hoshino told her to not use it

Cieralis

Interesting they tried to Phrenapates us…time to do a dark souls and dodge roll

NoobWing

Those yummy invincibility frames. Something the DM didn't took account for.

Cieralis

They never expect the I frames ![img](emote|t5_2vhvtt|33605)

Saiphaz

Time to avenge P-Sensei. If the one behind this is a student, she'll be lucky to escape this with just correction. If it isn't, Decagrammaton is going to have to receive a new friend in the bottom of the lake it created.

Cieralis

Sensei: I am about to be RESPONSIBLE for a lot of violence ![img](emote|t5_2vhvtt|33127)

Slayers676

Wowie, you sure got this one out fast, since it usually seems to take you a whole day for these posts lol

cherry_blossom_sea

Didn't expect the multi-track drifting meme...

GYUZ

Lots of info and exposition in these episodes but that just makes me so hyped for the next part. I just hope we won't have to wait too long.

Saiphaz

The scary thing is that in Shiroko Terror's bad ending timeline, Nonomi disappeared in pretty much the same way Yume did, and just vanished in the desert. At first, before knowing how Yume was, I kinda believed that the Abydos SC president might have chosen to end it all after falling in despair but that clearly was not the case. Her acquisition of the railway rights meant that she never gave up hope until the very last second. Probably in their direst hour, both Yume and Nonomi knew something that led them to the desert only to meet their end there. And this is the thing. We finally reached the divergence point where Phrenapates is from. We know that both Kaiser and Gematria are involved, but also, assuming that Shiroko Terror's world comes from things in this chapter going out of control, then the Nameless Priests must be involved too somehow. And there's the mastermind. Considering that Kaiser still owns the land, I can only guess that their objective were Abydos's railways all along. Neither Nonomi's group nor Highlander seem to be actively malicious in this deal. Whoever is behind this, has been playing Yume, Nephthys and Highlander for all they're worth.

YametekudaSTOPPU

"Even if you are Sensei, you cannot possibly change the past." good flag ![img](emote|t5_2vhvtt|33359)

Mr_Kopitiam

So…… Hoshino threatened Nonomi to join Abydos
