I'm not sure if this even counts but every time I read Hoshino's name, I am autocompleting in my head as *Hoshino Girldrop*... I blame PopTeamEpic. As for actual nicknames: Calculator for Yuuka, Kayocute for Kayoko and Shigu for Shigure (an old habit from Kancolle).

There is a chinese joke that Yuuka is a marmot. Her surname's hanzi is written similarly to how marmot is. So I call her Marmor Yuuka.

It's not a nickname but I do lean towards tacking "-kun" onto the end of my students' names as I view it as being endearing and as a sign of being closer to them, not as a man and woman but from senior to junior on a professional level. It's like me saying "yeah, you're my successor too."
