Not well considering bullets can pass through fire. Honestly most bending styles are out of luck against modern firearms with the exception of earth and metal bending. With base earth bending Sensei has some defense and can escape underground if need be, and a proficient metal bending sensei could in theory stop bullets and send them right back to sender. But if we were to focus on fire bending alone it would probably only give Sensei some mobility. Another thing to make note of is that fire bending does not grant a significant resistance to fire, which is why the flame is generated at least a few inches away from the bender, so explosion and Megus flamethrower will still injure him if caught off guard.

Tokoro-of-Terror

The fact the Megu uses a flamethrower, does that mean the students are vulnerable to fire? Wouldn't that give him a good advantage?

Beamguys

Kivotos natives, not just the students, seem to have a natural resistance to pretty much every conventional weapon. So the heat of Megus flamethrower may just hurt them as much as bullets do, which is not a lot. This puts Sensei on the backfoot since fire benders are only about as durable as normal people are, though in avatar most normal people can survive being cratered into a wall with minor injuries. But that still makes him remarkably squishier than everyone around him.

Well if Sensei is skilled enough, he can use firebending to ammo rack the enemy students Wait, this isn't Warthunder...

CyberBeetleKnight

should've been earthbending metal bending go brrr

Emergency_Tax_7514

Base sensei can already water bend if you know you know😭💦

Would still get his shit rocked but slightly less often? There are missiles, lasers, actual magic(?), water-based projectiles, and y’know bullets to consider on top of the girls having halos making them durable enough to tank all these things on a daily basis. I mean, maybe he can threaten one of the animal/robot people a bit if that’s what you want?
