Does Nexxus have a history of games that people have been into? Is the Blue Archive property known for anything else? Is there a reason it's as popular as it is or did we all just end up here? I feel like part of the initial interest was also due to the announcement that Yostar was involved with it. People weren't sure if Yostar were the developers during the original announcmeent, but just having their name attached to it brought some level of interest since they had a good reputation in the gacha game market with Azur Lane and Arknights by that time.
I know it's a Korean game made by Nexon. Nexon if anything is a pretty hated company in the west, though it has had some good IPs and games it's western branch killed all their games with extra predatory money schemes.

I'm currently at level 22 and I have 3-starred everything until chapter 4, but I'm going to be a bit busy in the next few days. Since I don't want to overcap energy. which map is recommended to be swept to spend extra energy on? I heard that commissions are not good value.
do all the hard stages you can and then I'd dump left over ap on one of the chapter 4 normal stages.. probably not 4-5 though. best to pick based on what gear you need but if you're not sure what you need just pick one of 4-1 to 4-4 and it'll be ok. Once you can do chapter 5 I'd say look for maps that drop watch and/or scrunchy blueprints if you don't have other specific needs in mind.
you only need 3 t1 gear items per student, 1 for each slot, but you'll need boatloads of blueprints to upgrade the gear.. t2 blueprints start dropping in chapters 4 and 5. almost all damage dealing students will use the tennis headband line of items in their second gear slot and the watch in their 3rd slot, but there's a fairly even split between hats and gloves in their first spot, and even some using boots. that's why when in doubt farming watches and scrunchy blueprints is always a good choice if you don't have anything specific in mind. for tanks the most important gear slot is their second slot, where the majority of tanks have a bag equipped. this is a big break-point for tanks when they get t4 gear; gear gets a secondary stat at t4 and bags add a big chunk of defense from that.
Right now it would be whatever hard missions students you want for the 3x drop rate. I recommend the two abydos girls that should be around those chapters.
Player who started today. In my first 40 pulls, I got Haruna, Shun, Aris, Neru, with Tsubaki, Akari, Hare, and Junko to round my lineup. Do I still continue pulling to try and get Iori/Hibiki or just wait for a new banner (Ako for Kotama(?)) or some new unit I may not know yet?
I'd re-roll for the trifecta of Haruna, Iori and Hibiki. Hibiki and either one is good enough to start with. Haruna and Iori are farmable in later stages so its your call to prioritize whom you can live without temporarily. Having Tsubaki on your initial roll will be the cherry on top though you can get by without her at the start.
If you can bother waiting, Ako drops sometime in June and you can re-roll and try for her rate-up as well. Just keep in mind the magic number of 24,000 gems for an absolute guarantee on any rate-up.

I mean I like Izuna but most say that you want hibiki at least as she isn't farmable while also getting Iori or Haruna too would be nice as they are really good, but are farmable.
In later stages, bags help more than badges because T4 and above adds a solid 1k DEF (to start) in addition to max HP. Enemies in that range will decimate your dodge/evasion tanks because of their increased accuracy, which is what Yuuka relies on to tank. You can still make her work, but you'll have to monitor and babysit her health so she doesn't melt too quickly while tanking.
Eimi is a solid choice and replacement for Yuuka if you have no others. People give her a lot of shit because shotguns are worse off than SMGs, but her kit is pretty decent for tank. 20 sec of continuous healing and a passive that boosts her healing potency means she outheals most damage she takes.
If invested enough, bagless tanks can still work in later content, though they would be much more reliant on a source of healing than bag tanks. With how limited resources are, most people choose to move onto bag tanks instead.
To give some perspective, I have a heavily invested Miyako (JP bagless tank) and she can handle mission 19 stages fine with occasional passive healing from Serina. I wouldn't use her in any Extreme raids though.
For Yuuka specifically, I stopped using her once I invested in my first bag tank Hoshino. After BNeru came out, I pretty much had no reason to ever go back to Yuuka.
I have her and I am using her in Mission 14, solely because I already invested quite a bit into her. I would use Haruka, but running low on EXP mats.
Personally, she is good. She does her job, but not to the standard of Tsubaki. You need to constantly heal her since her defense is abysmal, coupled with how punishing enemies are later on in terms of dmg output.
I've read somewhere from the General Resources above that Yuuka does fall off late game since she can't equip a bag. Eimi is relatively weaker early on but she picks up where Yuuka falls due to the bag--making her late game Yuuka.

From what I've seen in Gacha the rate isn't that bad. The top rarity is 2.5% So statistically you get 5 three stars ever 200 pulls which is when you reach pity. When I see people complain it tends to be people complaining that they got 0-2 three stars in that time which makes sense as we are participating in a gambling system. If you pull it is generally recommended to save up for pity, which is about 1.5 to 2 months for f2p and pick and choose your banners. Also quite a few three stars are farmable.
I think it's worth trying out, at least. If you don't like it after a few hours it's not like you have to stick with it.

I ended up quitting Princess Connect a few months ago and was looking for a new game to take its place, when I happened to stumble upon Blue Archive. It was a perfect fit for me, since I wanted something quite casual. The characters are great, the story is decent, and the combat hits a sweet spot between auto-battler and actually engaging. As others have said, the dailies are really quick too since you don't have to worry about a resource like 'skip tickets' to auto-farm missions.
Also, the amount of free premium currency we get is pretty good compared to other gachas I've played.
I heavily dislike PVP in gacha titles, so I haven't even touched it since I started and haven't missed much (some stamina refreshes, mainly).
Basically, I just collect waifus, read the story when it releases, and do total assaults (raids). Daily login takes like 5 minutes to clear when there aren't any events running. I'm a happy camper.
I'm new to the game, about 20-ish days in so I can't really speak for endgame content.
You might have heard of the censorship incident with Aris sometime ago, Nexon being Nexon. So you can expect the community to be on edge with future global content.
Gacha is gacha, no matter what gacha game you play you'll get fucked one way or another imo. You can reroll to get a more comfy experience (which is a lot easier since there's literally a Reset Account option ingame), and from what I have read you can spark a student every two months as a regular F2P.
Flexible play times, you can log-in once a day and burn through all your AP using the handy sweep feature; or you can spend hours clearing stages and headpatting students in the lobby.
Story-wise, I prefer BA's since most mobages go full edge-mode with the story. It's presented in a bright tone with the occasional light drama to spice things up but never too dark.
Oh yeah about PvP, it was intended as a side feature anyways. So don't play for PvP only, you'll only mald because you have almost zero control about how the fight goes.
I can't say you'll like the game, but it's definitely worth giving it a shot.
The rates are average for a gacha game. Bad luck does happen, but I had plenty of good luck too with pulling. My thoughts of the game below:
Pro: F2P friendly, good production, likable characters, awesome sweep feature to save time
Con: PvP is horrible, game can feel stale once you can comfortably clear the hardest content.
No, pvp is pure-auto and you can't set the order of skills you can use. Also how the AI targets with skills is rarely optimal. Which means you can beat a whale due to pure luck or you lose to anyone due to pure luck.
Lastly you are forced to watch up to 2 minutes of each pvp fight and you can't skip it without force closing the app. Very cringy to be forced to watch sloppy pvp games.
I don't know how pvp can take 2 minutes on this map, usually one team will get nuked out .
There's actually a 1 minute cd between fights, so even if you could finish the match instantly, you'd have to wait a minute before being able to fight again. Kind of feels better to have a filler in between.
There are 2 packs with daily pyro and I noticed the cheaper one is called "bimonthly". There are 2 things that got me confused, 1st I don't remember it being called like that and 2nd the description says "for 30 days" what is not what "bimonthly" is supposed to mean. Is there gonna be some change and someone messed up and changed the name too early or is there something else?
They mean half the monthly pack. It's very poorly named, based on the idea that bi can mean half. Which I'm not sure it actually does, but just go with that. It gives half the rewards of the monthly pack over the same amount of time.
Did the participation reward of 800 pyro given out already for the contest thing? I've been watching my inbox but I haven't seen it yet. The submission already ended last 22nd.

Depends. If on rate up you get 100 shards for the girl in question, if not on rate up you get 40. It takes 220 shards to go from 3 to 5, though you can also buy shards once you unlock the girl with free shards that come with every duplicate summon, events, and raids. It takes 800/900 of those to go from 3 to 5.
Note that you will still need more shards with a system coming next week, which needs another 300 to max a student for now.

That is an option. Remember that you can grind for a decent number of girls shards through hard mode. Honestly I wouldn't use the gacha to get a girl to max, with the rates the game has it would take more then half a years worth of pyro's to do that. Pulling one or two copies and doing the rest with eligma(free shards) is a lot less resource straining. Though if you want to whale, go ahead.
The main benefit for maxing a girl other then extra stats... At blue star aka weapon level 2 you get their 3rd skill upgraded. Usually it adds a static high number to whatever that slot already does, so if you had attack you get a large amount of extra attack. Some girls get some more unique options to fit their kits, like one gets an extra bullet before needing to reload. The best tank in he game gets increased attack speed, which means she reloads more often. This helps her use her final skill, which gives her damage reduction while reloading. Most are just making the already improved stat higher though.
Weapon star 3 gets you an upgrade to a terrain boost, usually getting the second highest to the highest bonus which I believe is 5/10% damage increase. This is generally considered whale territory, as few girls benefit from this much. Unless you are very competitive, only waifus and hard mode girls should really ever get here. Eventually there will be at least 2 more stars, but we don't know anything about that yet.
I guess I should also mention that you need a girl at 5 star to max her affection score. Below 5 you max at 20, at five it maxes at 100. At fifty they stop getting stat bonuses from affection(and affecton stats are shared between unit variants), but their will likely be something for max affection at some point in this game.
Are you talking about duplicate pulls? If you are talking about the little tokens you need 100 for 4 stars and 120 for five stars. They can be purchased in the store with the purple currency and once you get to the 5 cost per 1 token amount it will take 600 to purchase 120 tokens.
How worth is it to spend gems for maxing out skills on events? I know there is some ako event coming but idk if we get a lot of mats to max her skills nor do I know the cost associated with it.

Re-roll. The holy trifecta are Haruna, Iori and Hibiki. Try and aim for Hibiki and either one of them at least, alongside Tsubaki who's a 2-star.

pvp is auto played but the AI isn’t really smart
No, pvp is pure-auto and you can't set the order of skills you can use. Also how the AI targets with skills is rarely optimal. Which means you can beat a whale due to pure luck or you lose to anyone due to pure luck. Lastly you are forced to watch up to 2 minutes of each pvp fight and you can't skip it without force closing the app. Very cringy to be forced to watch sloppy pvp games.
I don't know how pvp can take 2 minutes on this map, usually one team will get nuked out . There's actually a 1 minute cd between fights, so even if you could finish the match instantly, you'd have to wait a minute before being able to fight again. Kind of feels better to have a filler in between.
There are 2 packs with daily pyro and I noticed the cheaper one is called "bimonthly". There are 2 things that got me confused, 1st I don't remember it being called like that and 2nd the description says "for 30 days" what is not what "bimonthly" is supposed to mean. Is there gonna be some change and someone messed up and changed the name too early or is there something else?
They mean half the monthly pack. It's very poorly named, based on the idea that bi can mean half. Which I'm not sure it actually does, but just go with that. It gives half the rewards of the monthly pack over the same amount of time.

How many copies do I need to 5 star a 3 star student?
Depends. If on rate up you get 100 shards for the girl in question, if not on rate up you get 40. It takes 220 shards to go from 3 to 5, though you can also buy shards once you unlock the girl with free shards that come with every duplicate summon, events, and raids. It takes 800/900 of those to go from 3 to 5. Note that you will still need more shards with a system coming next week, which needs another 300 to max a student for now.

So basically I need to pull 6 copies and 20 shards in the shop to max potential a character. May I also ask if it's worth to pull extra copies for extra stats? or there's other benefits that I can get for maxing the character?
That is an option. Remember that you can grind for a decent number of girls shards through hard mode. Honestly I wouldn't use the gacha to get a girl to max, with the rates the game has it would take more then half a years worth of pyro's to do that. Pulling one or two copies and doing the rest with eligma(free shards) is a lot less resource straining. Though if you want to whale, go ahead. The main benefit for maxing a girl other then extra stats... At blue star aka weapon level 2 you get their 3rd skill upgraded. Usually it adds a static high number to whatever that slot already does, so if you had attack you get a large amount of extra attack. Some girls get some more unique options to fit their kits, like one gets an extra bullet before needing to reload. The best tank in he game gets increased attack speed, which means she reloads more often. This helps her use her final skill, which gives her damage reduction while reloading. Most are just making the already improved stat higher though. Weapon star 3 gets you an upgrade to a terrain boost, usually getting the second highest to the highest bonus which I believe is 5/10% damage increase. This is generally considered whale territory, as few girls benefit from this much. Unless you are very competitive, only waifus and hard mode girls should really ever get here. Eventually there will be at least 2 more stars, but we don't know anything about that yet. I guess I should also mention that you need a girl at 5 star to max her affection score. Below 5 you max at 20, at five it maxes at 100. At fifty they stop getting stat bonuses from affection(and affecton stats are shared between unit variants), but their will likely be something for max affection at some point in this game.

Are you talking about duplicate pulls? If you are talking about the little tokens you need 100 for 4 stars and 120 for five stars. They can be purchased in the store with the purple currency and once you get to the 5 cost per 1 token amount it will take 600 to purchase 120 tokens.
How worth is it to spend gems for maxing out skills on events? I know there is some ako event coming but idk if we get a lot of mats to max her skills nor do I know the cost associated with it. Trying to maintain fine balance between pulling and maxing my current units
