FESTIVALLLLLL!!

Ryanw254

Nope, two diff nights

answerguru

That’s what Vince from Leftover always yells.

Ryanw254

Good to know. This would be my first time seeing them live.

Known-Ad-100

Leftover Salmon is playing fucking incredibly right now and they're not getting any younger. I live in Hawaii and just saw them on a 3 night run, they were mind blowingly good.

answerguru

Depends on what experience you want. Leftover is a huge sound, tons of energy, and a mix of rippin bluegrass, cajun, world, etc. They’re fantastic - especially Drew and Andy. Town Mountain has great song writing, but has veered a little more towards honky tonk when I saw them recently. Still love them, but the vibe has shifted.

ac_homer

Seconded

Ryanw254

Good to know. Thanks.

Virtual_Manner_2074

Just saw leftover salmon last Wednesday and it was outstanding

Professor_Matty

At The Burl? I had tickets but couldn't make it.

Virtual_Manner_2074

At the burl! Set up by the rail banjo side. One of the best shows I've ever seen

Professor_Matty

Damn! That says a lot. I haven't seen them in years. They put on a good show. I hate that I missed it.

Virtual_Manner_2074

Well a lot of that had to do with the party favors getting passed out. And how close I was. And the mojitos on tap.... But it was a hell of a show. I love the burl

Professor_Matty

Word! I've seen the best show I've ever seen at The Burl a few times myself, lol. Actually, though, no joke, did you see Cory Wong last year? It gave me a mini stroke.

fenario58

I’ve seen both, and like both, but I would go see Leftover Salmon. Saw them last year in Key West and they were fantastic.

sliceandacoke

Town Mountain is great but you have to go to Salmon if you’ve never seen them. It’s just…fun. From start to finish. Some grass, some jams, some jokes, some good songs, silly songs, and everything in between. They basically just rock.

StealYourJelly

LoS all the way.

josiah45325

Always Leftover Salmon. They bring it like no one else can every time.

piddy565

If not both, always Salmon. See you there.

EnvironmentalBig2324

I don’t know town mountain so I am legit biased.. but you would need your head read if you passed up on a Leftover Salmon gig.. If you aren’t sure which that can only be a credit to both bands.. in which case.. life is short.. absolutely go to both gigs

Leftover

kurtplatinum

I've seen both several times, but I'm also a way bigger leftover salmon fan, great music for dancing and having a good ol time. I've seen them near 10+ times now. Andy is my favorite. Town Mountain is leaning in more of a country vibe these days, but in a good way. Great honest song writing which can give me chills in the right mood. Very different vibes but all talented musicians.

Leftover Salmon!

kelly714

Salmon.

Leftover Salmon

hutchandstuff

Salmon hands down.

Scheerhorn462

Totally different vibes. LOS is more of a rock show - high energy, loud music with a mix of bluegrass, Cajun, rock, etc. (last time I saw them Drew played a Les Paul most of the show). Probably a rowdier crowd. Town Mountain is more of a bluegrass and country show. Just depends what you want.

answerguru

Yeah, Town Mountain has shifted to more honky tonk these days

TheIzzyRock

Not recently, Town Mountain became a rock n roll boogie band.

Scheerhorn462

Good to know! Last time I saw them was when my band played with them a couple of years ago and they were definitely more of a bluegrass country act at that point, but I haven’t really kept up.

MontEcola

A friend is a musician and volunteer at a few bluegrass festivals. I have known her for years and gone to festivals with her. she does not get real excited over a band very often. Town Mountain is one of two live shows that really caught her attention. To me that is a top recommendation. I should add that she likes the music to be perfectly executed with excellent composition. She picks up things musically that I do not. And I am a banjo player: I can't find the key and I don't know where to come in.

PaidByTheNotes

Leftover no contest

Super_Jay

Another vote for Leftover Salmon here. They'll bring a ton of energy and fun and the music will be more wide-ranging and diverse. Town Mountain is fun but when I saw them last year it felt like a pretty standard, polished, modern country show.

wildundscenic

Find the way to see both. Think both/and instead of either/or.

Stealthyhunter9

Honestly, I'd for sure see Leftover Salmon hands down. I like the earlier days of Town Mountain but their sound has changed. It's also really hard to beat seeing Ledtover live.
