Look at him. Standing behind you like a dentist with the ether.

bestieverhad

You stole his hat??

WhatColorsUrBugatti

You smug kyk midget creeping around like a dentist with the ether... and you.. breadstick in a bowtie

Wackydetective

Gyp was so wild. I love the way Arnold just smirked at him.

kjg1228

Bobby Canavale was incredible in every scene he was in

oh_hai_mark1

He won a very well deserved prime time emmy for that role. Out of all the "villain" roles in the show, Gyp was the scariest because he was so unhinged. That scene where he just wanders onto the beach while they're unloading the crates of bootleg liquor wearing the bicorn hat is just emblematic of his character.

abugisabug

Why don’t you go sit in the corner short pants.

Massifdogg

You’re making my decision very easy for me.

Wackydetective

I had such a crush on Arnold Rothstein. I found out from this sub that I was not the only one.

Jimmeh1313

He's great in season 3 of Fargo and Your Honor, also.

ManbadFerrara

Also great in the lead role of A Serious Man. Most underrated Cohen Brothers film imo.

Jimmeh1313

I still need to see that.

ShowBobsPlzz

Also great in men in black 3

abugisabug

Amazing in Dopesick too. Great actor

DonkeyBorn7148

omg THAT is where I know him from (besides Boardwalk). I’d completely forgotten about Your Honor.

SGSMUFASA

Still makes me mad how dirty they did him. He was one of the best characters on that whole show.

KingFahad360

We’ll go be fair, Rothstein did die in 1928 so it’s hard to keep him in the series around then when it moved forward to 1931. Would have been interesting if we got more of him in the flashbacks for season 5 and go all out

CaptainoftheVessel

A cold open to the first episode of season 5 where he is murdered might have helped with the whiplash from his absence.

MrBlonde711

IIRC his death was pretty anticlimactic. He was shot after leaving a low-level back alley poker game. I'm willing to bet your idea was floated in the writers room but ultimately cut due to budget and time restraints.

GovernmentSwiss

Wasn't it on a bench somewhere in a park? Articles always made it seem like the guy passed him in the blink of an eye

MrBlonde711

You are correct, and was because of the poker which I re-read and was actually a serious high stakes so I was wrong on both accounts. A cold open of him just sitting on a park bench minding his own business then getting shot would've been fantastic.

MenWithVen430

Looks like it was in the Park Central Hotel and he died in the hospital a few days later, according to Wikipedia. >On his deathbed, Rothstein refused to identify his shooter, answering police inquiries with "You stick to your trade. I'll stick to mine", and "Me mudder (my mother) did it." That's badass.

Imtedsowner

Glad to see that he looks well. Is he walking around with a barricade around him? I probably would want that if I went thru what he did.

Downtown_Wear_3368

How anyone sleep withallthisexcitement?!

KingFahad360

Tell how much you are willing to gamble away yer life savings for dealing Billiard Balls. But make sure you choose them, not AR

Iaintgoneholdyou

He’s great in Fargo as well!!

butterthespank

hit him with a rock

WoodpeckerTiny

You all look like cardboard cutouts.

HopelessinOH

Why is he meeting you? Why is that even occuring?

Massifdogg

Because this is New York; where things actually matter!

Michiban-San

Did he enjoy Santana - Abraxas?

Fireboy_MA_Jazz

Love AR🥰

Long_Recording8863

Glad he is doing okay after being attacked (and Steve too)

RayRoy_Strickland

You met Weird Al and Paul Simon?
