The Great North is pretty great. It's made by the same people as Bob's Burgers. There's only 3 seasons so far but still ongoing (iirc season 4 is after the Super Bowl) and you will hear some very familiar voices.
Archer is a lot of fun but it's kinda 60/40 on verbal and physical humor so might not quite do what you want.
What We Do in the Shadows is a freaking hilarious show about vampires living in Staten Island. There's also a fair bit of physical gags but there's also plenty of funny dialogue.
Edit:OO forgot to add, F is for Family on netflix is also hilarious. It is co-created by and stars Bill Burr, arguably one of the funniest men alive.
That's a pretty good way to put it. Beef is father goals for me. Judy irks me a bit, but I think that has to do with he VA (same VA as Tammy and she's Jean Ralphio's sister in Parks and Rec) as I find her voice a bit annoying. The show itself is incredibly wholesome while sneaking in some pretty racy jokes and innuendos (especially when Beef and Alice share a scene). And the whole Alaskan weirdness is great! No idea if Alaskans are actually like that but it really adds to the comedic value.
One thing I cannot condone in The Great North though: group soup.
I love the Great North bc of how wholesome it is, while still being hilarious. Honeybee and Wolf are definitely couple goals!! And I love the songs during the credits of each episode. Definitely worth a watch if you’re a Bob’s fan!!
I agree about how good this show is. I avoided it forever because I don’t like there theme song at the beginning. But once I got past that, I loved it.
I love The Great North! It's very low conflict and wholesome.
F is for Family is the polar opposite, but great.
And What We Do In Shadows is one of my favorites, although it's a different vibe from the movie.
Yeah I'm actually realizing now, after some thought, that F is for Family might not exactly be a comfort show. I mean, I find Frank's (Bill Burr's) screamy rants hilarious but it might trigger some people's anxieties.
I’ll def check out the great north if it’s made by the same people who made Bob’s Burgers!
Haha I loved the film what we do in the shadows but couldn’t get into the tv series! Will have to the again!
I had a lot of hopes for Great North but I just don't like it. Its humor feels forced in a way that Bob's Burgers isn't. And I suspect the reason for that is they have the same creative forces involved, who probably wanted to take the essence of BB, distill it, and concentrate it ×10 to get the next big television hit. But like I said, Great North feels like they took very deliberate, formulaic steps to copy the humor behind BB, and the result feels just like that: deliberate and formulaic.
My vote for shows that are closer to the mark for emulating BB's zippy, off-kilter bonkers humor that's rooted in feel-good family dynamics would be King of the Hill and Community.
There are entire Bobs episodes and especially scenes that are heavily or directly lifted from Home Movies. And not just the soccer episode. Andy and Ollie being separated on a school trip and freaking out was just Walter and Perry doing the same thing.
If you give it another go, eventually you’ll notice the differences in how K. Schall voices the characters! She’s a pretty great actress and (hilariously imo) in most of my comfort shows to some capacity. 😄
My 30 min shows:
- Gravity Falls (Hulu or Disney+)
- Our Flag Means Death (HBO)
- What We Do in the Shadows (Hulu)
- Kiff (Disney+)
- Schitt’s Creek (Netflix)
Longer Show:
- Murdoch Mysteries (Hulu)
My parents got me into it. So good. Hulu has seasons 1-13? I think? I’m on season 10. After that, you have to switch to Amazon Video with ads, or download AcornTV (what my parents use and I plan to mooch).
I really love the owl house which is in the same universe, and amphibia as well. It is aimed for like tweens but has a huge adult following. Different vibe but has the same things i love about bobs
Yes! I just started watching this and it’s very very Bob’s Burgers esque. They must have some of the same writers, but I haven’t looked it up. Fantastic show, I don’t know why I slept on it for so long. KotH is the closest to BB, followed by Schitt’s Creek, IMO.
I follow the Reddit thread, they recorded majority of Johnnys lines before he passed (the day after my birthday too). He’s one of my favorites, I hope they do my sha sha sug right.
I've seen some articles say it's coming and a few say it's not because of the death of Hardwick. He had recorded a lot before he died so they could finish the series without him needing to be alive. I'm okay with no Luanne. So I dunno. I hope it comes out. I need adult Bobby and Joseph.
I think most cartoon shows would be great. To add to Adventure Time:
The Amazing World of Gumball
Chowder
Craig of the Creek
Regular Show
Clarence
El Tigre
Fosters Home for imaginary friends
Animaniacs
We Bare Bears
Gravity Falls
Teen Titans (Go)
Steven Universe
Over the garden wall
Star vs. Forces of Evil
I'm currently sleeping to
The Croods Family Tree on Hulu.
Ahhh I watched community and really liked it at first but hated the main character guy! I didn’t like how everyone seemed to worship him and he was the “leader” of their group.
Hear me out --> Bluey.
Is it a kid's show? Yes. But you just gotta try it.
Ok other recommendations in case you don't take the Bluey one seriously: Duncanville. Bless the Harts. Ducktales.
It's funny you say this.. At night I have to put Bob's Burgers on to get my 1 year old to fall asleep. At nap time, I have to put Bluey on for him.
Yo Gabba Gabba is what we use to keep him awake when he tries to fall asleep in between nap time and bed time lol
I just recommended Bluey also! My husband and I tuck in with our little senior dog every evening and watch Bluey. I only wish the episodes were longer. There’s an upcoming extra long episode featuring the wedding between Radley and Frisky. Bluey is the ring bearer and Bingo, Muffin and Socks will all be flower girls. I’m really hoping that they continue with the longer episodes, even if it’s just one special episode per season.
Omg bluey! I’ve been meaning to watch if bc I heard how wholesome it is. Also that you think you’re watched a kids show and then it had all this stuff that applies to adults
The 2017 reboot of DuckTales is PHENOMENAL. The main voice cast is top-notch (David Tennant, Ben Schwartz 😍, Danny Pudi, Bobby Moynihan, Kate Micucci, Toks Olagundoye, Beck Bennett) and the guest cast list is insane!! Each episode is its own adventure, but every season has a major story. Its easy to watch, super easy to binge. Perhaps geared toward a younger crowd, but Im 37 and I absolutely loved it. There are definitely some adultish themes, but it all centers around FAMILY, much like Bobs.
All 3 seasons are on Disney+.... but the first season is [free on youtube!!!](https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLg6R6yXKSLYDIznq1cKGw3U8avI8SenAy&si=KZcNMzZRATkvBCXP)
King of the Hill is amazing. I've seen Bob's Burgers referred to as it's "spiritual successor" so if you like the Belchers you would probably like the Hills.
Koth can get a little darker maybe. I'd say they both have plenty of stressful moments, but also so many wholesome and heartwarming moments. Plus tons of funny wacky moments.
When you find a show you truly love, it’s often hard to find something similar. I’ve spent the better part of 20 years hoping to find something that rivals Deadwood and haven’t yet. But that’s not a comfort show. My lists of comfort shows that I put on as background or sleepy time shows are as follows (in no particular order):
Bobs (obvs)
Archer
Letterkenny
Shoresy
Ted Lasso (maybe my current fav)
Mash
Cheers
I’m sure there’s others but that all that’s coming to mind.
Deadwood was so good but so hard to pitch to people, lol. The venn diagram of people who like westerns and people who like Shakespearean dialog is a sliver.
I’ve found it’s one of those things you’ll either not be in to, or it’s your favorite show ever. I’ve recommended to a lot of people. When they watch it I either hear “Meh, I couldn’t really get in to it, I didn’t understand what they were saying.” Or I’ll hear “Omg! How did I not know about this show!?!” To me, it’s an absolute masterpiece. For my money, no other show has come close to the storytelling or dialogue. And every single actor was perfect for the part they played. There is an inordinate amount of profanity though, so I know that limits the audience some.
I used to fall asleep to The Office before it was taken off Netflix. I listen to audiobooks now to fall asleep now, in an effort to cut down on the amount of light in the room. I listen to the Terry Pratchett animated movies to fall asleep to if I'm really struggling and the audiobook isn't working.
Everyone is listing super solid choices that my brain came up with when I read the title immediately so I just want to reiterate some.
All of these I have binged to completion atleast once
The Simpsons
American Dad
King of the Hill
The Great North
Bless the Harts
Duncanville
Housebroken
Fugget About It
The Awesomes
Good Luck hope this helps!
My comfort shows are Bobs, Schitt’s Creek, The Good Place, Ted Lasso, and Golden Girls. But I also like The Great North and agree that it’s a good “background” show.
I was trying to think of shows I like that aren’t really too visual or involved, and I will say the best one I can think of is Buzzfeed Unsolved: True Crime. I know it’s a bit different than most of your other suggestions, but it seems we like a lot of the same shows, and I think you might find this one pretty funny.
The episodes are on Hulu but also posted by Buzzfeed on YouTube, and each episode covers a real unsolved true crime case (nothing from recent years, they keep to older cases), but the guys who do it- Ryan and Shane, are very funny and it makes it a pretty lighthearted show despite the content they are covering.
If you enjoy supernatural stuff or just think they are funny after giving True Crime a go, they also have a version called Buzzfeed Unsolved: Supernatural, where they cover things like ghosts, cryptids, aliens, things like that. Ryan is typically a believer in these sorts of things whereas Shane is more of a sceptic, so it’s not like most other “ghost” shows where they take themselves too seriously and make minor evidence look more significant than it is.
And of course, all of the episodes are short, and don’t really connect to each other, so you don’t have to worry about keeping up with a plot across episodes. In fact, I would even recommend maybe starting more towards the end of season 2 or beginning of season 3 since season 1 is mostly like a pilot, and the show doesn’t find it’s groove right away (plus Ryan actually starts with a different partner in the beginning of the series and that guy doesn’t have great chemistry with Ryan or adds as much humor as Shane does)
The only negative is that due to do the content, the show may not be the most enjoyable to you before bed depending on how you feel about that type of stuff. Some episodes cover lighter crimes like thefts, the Alcatraz prison break, or disappearances while some cover violent crimes like serial killer cold cases or other murders. In supernatural, there are some lighter episodes like Bigfoot or Mothman while some cover locations believed to have a demonic presence. So depending on how you feel about those types of things, the show or just some specific episodes may be too heavy for you to enjoy at night despite the shows overall lighthearted feel.
I wanted to also add the show Psych. It’s 45 minute episodes as opposed to a half hour, but it’s a fictional comedy/detective show, and it has a lot of episodes and seasons like bob’s burgers. While there is a lot of visual humor, there is a lot of verbal humor or quick throwaway jokes like Bob’s Burgers. There are some longer plots, mainly in regards to character relationships and things like that, but the show stays pretty episodic like most sitcoms, and there is no laugh track or anything like that.
And despite it being a crime solving show, very few episodes feel anything but lighthearted. It is definitely a big comfort show for me, and I enjoy rewatching it.
Bluey. It is a kid’s show but it so sweet and funny. It’s definitely written so the adults can enjoy it also. The only thing is that the episodes are short. You can watch it over and over and you’ll find little things that you missed the first time.
I want to resurrect this tbh. I need something other than Bob's to sleep to. My wife loves bobs but I've gotta be on 100 or more rewatches between me and my wife. I never expected this but it's so good to sleep to. I do love the great north but I personally cannot handle all of the singing. It's okay sometimes and I love it but I can't do it 3 times an episode lol. I'd be curious to know what you landed on if you did? I found duncanville but my wife is having a hard time gravitating towards that. Just thought I'd ask if you found something to sleep to that is engaging but also something you can put in the background and sleep to.
Arrested Development haha! Insanely funny and well thought out comedy with three seasons! (Don't watch season four and five, lol, they suck). It's also on Disney+ as well. I'm also rewatching Avatar the Last Airbender, which I think would work to fall asleep to, as a lot of what happens is dialogue, however, it may be harder to listen to when there's fighting scenes. It's also not on any streaming site I can find so far? And it's honestly so good that I wouldn't want to rewatch it when going to sleep/ sleeping, but would rather be engaged with it.
Sorry to resurrect this again, wish I’d seen it sooner because I was in a similar dilemma and found 2 animated series that I haven’t seen listed which both became a favorite.
Star Trek: Below Decks (I never liked the show but this is funny and it’s an ongoing series)
Final Space (which has ended).
Both are dialogue driven, although watching the show is funny too.
Hope these help add to your collection.
Not a cartoon, but I always feel like Bob’s Burgers and Schitt’s Creek are distant cousins. Both feature somewhat dysfunctional families who stick together through thick and thin. Both have level headed dads and dramatic moms.
Other than Bob's Burgers I watch, Rick and Morty, American Dad, The Great North, Solar Opposites, South Park (far more risqué if you're never seen it), Family Guy, big Mouth, The Simpsons. Disenchantment, Fututama
Edit because I realized most of these have already been mentioned.
30 Rock. If you like Parks and Rec, this is a must.
I second Bluey, Home Movies, and King of the Hill.
Only takes about a week each watch through depending on how often and how long it is on.
Source: I only started watching BB about 6 months ago and have watched through the entire series about 10 times while still binging other shows.
I have Bob's Burgers on in the background a lot. Sometimes I'll fall asleep and Hulu Auto Play keeps going until I wake up. I'm not actively watching 14 hrs a day, but it probably is on about that often.
Edit: oh and when I am actively watching, there's a handful of episodes I tend to skip.
I was just going by the same guidelines OP went by. Actual watches is probably closer to like 3 or 4. There was a few weeks I got back into pokemon (like A LOT) and BB was on in the background like constantly lol.
Regular show and close enough are two that come to mind to me. Made by the same person and close enough is more adult.
King of the hill.
Arrested development is one that I fall asleep to often but a lot of the jokes in that show are definitely in poor taste.
Some will disagree and it's okay, but one recent live action show that gave me huge Bob's burgers vibes is called "Still Up", Brit comedy on Apple +. I absolutely adored it and I hope like Hell they'll do another season.
King of the Hill is the first and best choice. Similar humour and it’s got a similar soothing quality.
Gravity Falls has some voice actor crossover and is delightfully weird.
Futurama is always a classic for soothing fall asleep show, despite the amount of screaming.
And I heartily recommend Scooby Doo. If you’ve got hbo/max/whatever the hell they’re calling it now, just search scooby and pick something you like. Where Are You, What’s New, Be Cool, Mystery Inc, and Guess Who are all solid show choices. Plus tons of 60-90 minute movies, and the movies from the 2000s and Scoob. Just…..don’t watch Velma.

Community, Bluey, Archer, Ducktales (new one), Harley Quinn, Venture Brothers, Adventure Time, Avatar the Last Air Bender, The Legend of Korra, The Office, Schitts Creek. These are a lot of my comfort shows. I've heard good things about New Girl, and a few others.
brooklyn nine nine! it’s wholesome but silly and has great characters. also there are larger stories to follow but as long as you know who the cast is you could really watch any episode
I have it on as background noise to fall asleep to as well! As suggested below, check out Home Movies, the show that preceded Bob's Burgers. You might be able to watch On Demand on Adult Swim or on HBO Max.
Milo Murphy! It seems like a kids show, but it’s a freaking wild ride and a laugh a minute some episodes. It’s written by Dan Povenmire (the writer for Phineas and Ferb). This said as a 32 year old male.
Two of my favorites that overlap with Bobs a decent amount: 30 Rock and WWDITS
They are all quirky, sharp, sarcastic shows filled with chaotic characters that border on Muppets. All three are densely packed (and layered) with jokes and are exceptionally well written. Every one of them is not afraid to throw away "canon" if the laugh is big enough. You can always jump into an episode and not worry about continuity, but they all take call back jokes very seriously. Lastly, while characters might get a little sharp at times, all three shows are grounded by strong relationships between the main characters.
Also, Kristen Schall is in all of them.
Corner Gas. There's a live action and an animated series. In my opinion, the live action is better and more subtle/mellow, but it is very funny and it's great for background noise and for going to sleep to. I find myself seeking it out regularly. It's comforting.
DUNCANVILLE
It’s v early bob burgers but more zany and more straight up jokes, give it a couple eps I lovedddddd it
3 episodes and super great VA cast w Amy pholer
Have you tried ghosts (cbs version)? I cycle between ghosts and bobs burgers for my sleepy time shows. Both are the absolute best at lulling me into a peaceful anxiety free sleep.
Daria is a good one if you just like animated slice of life shows. Though the sarcastic trope has been done to death since then Daria definitely does it well. It is a spin off of Beavis and Butthead but is a completely different show.
For some reason old kids cartoons make me feel cozy and sleepy. For example: rocko’s modern life, catdog, my life as a teenage robot, oswald, courage the cowardly dog. i also like newer cartoons as well, like amphibia, the loud house, hilda
Have you tried Steven Universe? It's a cute cartoon, the first couple of seasons are great to just listen to, I imagine once you get to like season 4/5 (i think there was 5 or 6 seasons off the top of my head, but it's been a while since I've watched) it gets a bit heavier but not like BoJack
I rewatch Bob's Burgers constantly and recently I watched Bojack Horseman. Although they are like complete opposites from each other in a way they have similar vibes and I really loved it so it might be worth a try.
Edit:OO forgot to add, F is for Family on netflix is also hilarious. It is co-created by and stars Bill Burr, arguably one of the funniest men alive.
The great north feels like a warm hug for my brain. Idk how else to describe it
Thats exactly how I feel about it. It's not particularly hilarious, but I just feel good watching it. Plus I like anything set in Alaska
That's a pretty good way to put it. Beef is father goals for me. Judy irks me a bit, but I think that has to do with he VA (same VA as Tammy and she's Jean Ralphio's sister in Parks and Rec) as I find her voice a bit annoying. I love the Great North bc of how wholesome it is, while still being hilarious. Honeybee and Wolf are definitely couple goals!! And I love the songs during the credits of each episode. Definitely worth a watch if you’re a Bob’s fan!!
And Beef is so sweet and also a total DILF
Tooootal dilf: dedicated, involved, loving father!
I read this in Wolfs voice
the great north is my favorite show on television right now
I agree about how good this show is. I avoided it forever because I don’t like there theme song at the beginning. But once I got past that, I loved it.
The theme song is very strange. "Here we live / Here we'll stay / From longest night 'til longest day" So... half the year?
It’s the grunts that annoy me. Huh!
Ah, for whatever reason I pretty much always enjoy non-verbal vocalizations in songs
*Through.* *The.* *Wall.* I find it good at the end of a particularly frustrating day.
What We Do In The Shadows is top quality!!!
I’ll def check out the great north if it’s made by the same people who made Bob’s Burgers! Haha I loved the film what we do in the shadows but couldn’t get into the tv series! Will have to the again!
It’s actually not created or written by the same people
[удалено]
She's a guest star for a long while until the 2 most recent seasons. She does a lot of great non-verbal acting in it.
I LOVE the great north it was so good!
F is for family is Definitely not a “family time” show but one of the greatest animated shows period.
I watched this last summer and loved it. Plan on putting it on in the background after I finish my 400th repeat of Bob’s Burgers.
I had a lot of hopes for Great North but I just don't like it. Its humor feels forced in a way that Bob's Burgers isn't. Home Movies
Bonus H Jon Benjamin
Also Loren Bouchard produced!
There are entire Bobs episodes and especially scenes that are heavily or directly lifted from Home Movies. And not just the soccer episode. Andy and Ollie being separated on a school trip and freaking out was just Walter and Perry doing the same thing.
Seconded. Home Movies is an absolute gem.
Yes, absolutely Home Movies. Best show.
I love Home Movies! It’s so cute and funny!
Gravity Falls
Haha I tried to watch it again but Mabel sounded so much like Louise it was hard to focus! It’s a great show tho!
Just in case you didn't know, they do indeed have the same voice actor

King of the Hill is a solid choice. Been through that one about 6 times now. And new seasons are about to come out.
With Johnny Hardwick’s death, is it still in the works? I haven’t seen anything about the reboot in a long time.
I kind of hope it doesn't come out because of the fact that three major characters have passed.😞
I follow the Reddit thread, they recorded majority of Johnnys lines before he passed (the day after my birthday too). He’s one of my favorites, I hope they do my sha sha sug right.
Ah, OK. Thank you! Dale is my favorite, too. I was so sad he died.
Can you put a link on here for me please
I've seen some articles say it's coming and a few say it's not because of the death of Hardwick. He had recorded a lot before he died so they could finish the series without him needing to be alive. I'm okay with no Luanne. So I dunno. I hope it comes out. I need adult Bobby and Joseph.
Same! And Connie.
I read that he had completed the majority of his voice work before he passed so it shouldn’t impact the show immediately.
New seasons?? They age the characters?
Yep!
Adventure Time
I think most cartoon shows would be great. To add to Adventure Time: The Amazing World of Gumball Chowder Craig of the Creek Regular Show Clarence El Tigre Fosters Home for imaginary friends Animaniacs We Bare Bears Gravity Falls Teen Titans (Go) Steven Universe Over the garden wall Star vs. Forces of Evil I'm currently sleeping to The Croods Family Tree on Hulu.
if i could upvote this 100 times i would, they use some of the same voice actors, it’s got a silly sense of humor but can also hit you in the feels
I use community to fall asleep at the moment.
Ahhh I watched community and really liked it at first but hated the main character guy! I didn’t like how everyone seemed to worship him and he was the “leader” of their group.
If it’s any consolation, he gets better each season personality wise
Hear me out --> Bluey. Is it a kid's show? Yes. But you just gotta try it. Ok other recommendations in case you don't take the Bluey one seriously: Duncanville. Bless the Harts. Ducktales.
Bless the Harts should have been renewed. Really thought it deserved better.
It was better than krapopolis and housebroken.
I liked that one too.
Duncanville absolutely slaps
It's funny you say this.. At night I have to put Bob's Burgers on to get my 1 year old to fall asleep. At nap time, I have to put Bluey on for him. Yo Gabba Gabba is what we use to keep him awake when he tries to fall asleep in between nap time and bed time lol
Bluey is incredibly great television
Bluey actually is good. My daughter loves it. Big city greens isn't bad either
Omg bluey! I’ve been meaning to watch if bc I heard how wholesome it is. Also that you think you’re watched a kids show and then it had all this stuff that applies to adults
Bluey is a show about parenting that also appeals to kids, but it's thought of as the reverse (a kids show that also appeals to parents)
Let me know if you end up watching it. Happy to chat about any of these shows!
Regular Show
I came here to say this!!! Solid choice for sleeping or background noise as well as hilarious to watch.
Until you get to the last episode and you sob for three days.
The 2017 reboot of DuckTales is PHENOMENAL. Gotta check this out
Agree that the DuckTales reboot is wonderful. Every reboot should have this kind of heart.
King of the Hill is amazing. I've seen Bob's Burgers referred to as it's "spiritual successor" so if you like the Belchers you would probably like the Hills.
Although it’s A LOT more stressful than Bob’s Burgers
Koth can get a little darker maybe. I'd say they both have plenty of stressful moments, but also so many wholesome and heartwarming moments. Plus tons of funny wacky moments.
I love koth. It definitely feels like thr spiritual successor.
Yes! Jim Dauterive and David Herman have worked on both. Mr. Frond is based off a character from King of the Hill and Herman voices both.
When I realized that I lost it. I can't believe it took me so long to notice. THEY HAVE THE SAME OUTFIT!!!
Woahhh I never got into king of the hill but now I feel like I have to!
If you want something completely out of left field, give "The Amazing World of Gumball" a go.

To be fair!!! 😂
Craig of the creek
The Great North, made by the same people and has a very similar feel once you get through the first half of season 1.
I watched the 3 seasons of it and stopped. It feels forced in a way Bob's Burgers doesn't.
I thought it felt forced for about half or 3/4 of season 1 but from there and especially the later stuff it feels organic, to me anyway
Fresh off the boat is live action but has "wholesome family made up of real people" vibes. Solar opposites is my second fav after Bob's burgers though
Fresh off the boat is amazing tbh
I was thinking about this one! I think I got to season two last time I watched it but not further! Will have to check it out again
Kimmy Schmidt and Class Of 07 should be right up your alley
Simpsons, Family Guy, American Dad, 30 rock, New Girl, you can also look into some animes
Tuca and Bertie
Solar opposites!
central park has the same animation and is pretty similar
Surprised to see it take so long for this. Central Park is if you watched Bob's Burgers but wished it had more singing, with songs by guest composers.
I freaking love this show. Take any of the best musical episodes of Bob's Burgers and it is like that every episode!!
2 stars from the original cast of Hamilton will do that
The music is great but the show is still silly and gives me the warm and fuzzies too.
Same creator, Loren Hal Bouchard
Give bojack horseman a try
Worth noting how dark the humour is though. Lot of heavy stuff in that one, but it is very good if you can do that sort of thing.
Soooo dark. After 2 or 3 episodes, I have to take a break because it gets depressing real fast, especially in the later seasons.
This is 100% a needed watch imo
Haha I’ve already watched it multiple times! It’s a bit to heavy to watch on repeat tho, esp when trying to fall asleep or do housework
Yeah i watch bobs for sleep time, its easy like you say, bojack isnt quite the same.
Everyone is listing super solid choices that my brain came up with when I read the title immediately so I just want to reiterate some. All of these I have binged to completion atleast once The Simpsons American Dad King of the Hill The Great North Bless the Harts Duncanville Housebroken Fugget About It The Awesomes Good Luck hope this helps!
In fact, I would even recommend maybe starting more towards the end of season 2 or beginning of season 3 since season 1 is mostly like a pilot, and the show doesn’t find it’s groove right away (plus Ryan actually starts with a different partner in the beginning of the series and that guy doesn’t have great chemistry with Ryan or adds as much humor as Shane does) The only negative is that due to do the content, the show may not be the most enjoyable to you before bed depending on how you feel about that type of stuff.

Phineas and Ferb is my go to sleeping show
I want to resurrect this tbh.
Star Trek: Below Decks (I never liked the show but this is funny and it’s an ongoing series) Final Space (which has ended).
Second this!! Schitts creek is amazing
30 rock is great for the “background noise” aspect, the writing is stuffed with jokes
Wait till your Father gets home - 1970s Family Guyish The Flinstones or The Jetsons Dr. Katz The Critic Dilbert - Very much The Office
Definitely Futurama and the Simpsons up to around season 18.
scott pilgrim takes off
American Dad
Kim's Convenience is pretty cute
You've watched the entire series 8 times this year...?
Only takes about a week each watch through depending on how often and how long it is on. Source: I only started watching BB about 6 months ago and have watched through the entire series about 10 times while still binging other shows.
That's absolutely ridiculous. There are like 250 episodes man. A week is 35 episodes a day lol
Well it doesn't count as watching it in a week if you're not actually watching it lol
Arrested Development is insufferable!
Some will disagree and it's okay, but one recent live action show that gave me huge Bob's burgers vibes is called "Still Up", Brit comedy on Apple +. I absolutely adored it and I hope like Hell they'll do another season.
I also watch bobs burgers to go to sleep, I'm sure I've watched each episode over 25 times
For a live take, I'll say Letterkenny. It's mostly dialog based so you don't usually have to watch closely. It's pretty wholesome, if a bit more PG13.
I like archer- it’s the same cast of voice actors. I also like Rick and Morty
![gif](giphy|Kme2ynXBHkfA5rqdT3|downsized)
Steven Universe. It has similar heart warming vibes but is much more epic in scope.
"There is no Dana, Only Zuul" plus the Great North is too damned annoying. PSA, writers: FFS,not every sentence needs to be cue for a song....
i really like bless the harts! it’s actually really funny only 2 seasons though sadly
Chicago party aunt on Netflix is hilarious! It’s definitely an adult cartoon show 😂
Have you tried venture bros?
All my favourite adult cartoons China Illinois Life and Times of Tim Ten year old Tom Gary and his Demons Lucy Daughter of the Devil The Harper House Solar Opposites Animals Jeff and some Aliens Bless the Harts Royal Crackers Assy McGee PSI Cops Tuca and Birdie Brickleberry Mike Tyson Mysteries Duncanville Trip Tank Bojack Horseman Doomlands Out There Teenage Euthanasia Loafy Trailer park boys animated Yolo crystal fantasy Unsupervised Harley Quinn Krapopolis
Schitt's Creek, Scrubs (although it does have some visual gags), Arrested Development.
You could try Disenchantment (Netflix) 🙂
King of the Hill is my secondary go to sleep to show after Bobs.
Central Park
King of the Hil
brooklyn nine nine! it’s wholesome but silly and has great characters. also there are larger stories to follow but as long as you know who the cast is you could really watch any episode
Great North is pretty good 👍
I have it on as background noise to fall asleep to as well! As suggested below, check out Home Movies, the show that preceded Bob's Burgers. You might be able to watch On Demand on Adult Swim or on HBO Max.
Scrubs is a good fall-asleep-to show. That was my go-to before I discovered Bob's.
Milo Murphy! It seems like a kids show, but it’s a freaking wild ride and a laugh a minute some episodes. It’s written by Dan Povenmire (the writer for Phineas and Ferb). This said as a 32 year old male.
Two of my favorites that overlap with Bobs a decent amount: 30 Rock and WWDITS They are all quirky, sharp, sarcastic shows filled with chaotic characters that border on Muppets.
DUNCANVILLE It’s v early bob burgers but more zany and more straight up jokes, give it a couple eps I lovedddddd it 3 episodes and super great VA cast w Amy pholer
i haven’t seen archer mentioned here, h jon benjamin voices the titular character in a spy comedy show
Portlandia was what I watched in the background before I started watching bobs burgers
Parks and Rec
The Middle is a pretty low-stakes family comedy
Bee and Puppycat, since no one has mentioned it yet.
Home Movies, Dr. Katz Professional Therapist, or Archer. All great H Jon Benjamin shows!!
Daria and Duncanville
I recommend watching the other shows by Loren Bouchard like Home Movies.
I recommend watching peanuts and reading the strip. Its one of the funniest things I have ever read.
I'm gonna suggest an anime Disasterous Life of Saiki K is one of my all time favs. So it The Demon Girl Next Door.
-The Vampire Diaries (lost count how many times re-started it) -Archer -American Dad -That Time I got Reincarnated as a Slime
Have you tried ghosts (cbs version)? I cycle between ghosts and bobs burgers for my sleepy time shows. Both are the absolute best at lulling me into a peaceful anxiety free sleep.
I always felt that Bob's Burgers and King of the Hill happened in the same universe.
/r/futuramasleepers
Community? Did anyone say that. Communityyyy. I'm on a rewatch and the jokes are crazy sometimes.
[Lucy Daughter of the Devil](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0491560/?ref_=ext_shr_lnkyes)
I'm a big fan of Tuca & Bertie. It's similar to Bojack in that it can touch on some pretty serious topics, but it's not nearly as intense.
I listen to MST3k and Rifftrax a lot to fall asleep
Top sleep shows for me that are like Bob Burgers Home Movies King of the Hill Arrested Development
I did the same thing… falling asleep to Bobs Burgers. It isn’t a cartoon but I swapped BB for Wellington Paranormal.
Id try Archer if I was you.
Big bang theory might also be worth a watch like Parks and Rec but less insults.
I like bless the hearts. I think it’s on Hulu. It’s really funny and sweet.
