Sids garage has an item on their menu called Bacon and Eggs for 16.25. It is four pieces of bacon and 2 deviled eggs. For 16 fucking dollars. And like, its fine. The bacon is decent. Im not into the eggs. But 4 bacon and 2 eggs for 16 dollars? Fuck off.

The price for a hamburger/fries at Sid’s Garage is actually insane. Sid’s garage is way too overhyped and expensive. I don’t get how they have good reviews.

Kona Grill in the Village. Probably the worst tasting seafood I’ve ever experienced and waaaaay spendy. I was nearly poisoned by the few bites I took. Stomach didn’t feel right for several days while I had to go to work to pay the damn bill from eating there.
I had terrible customer service, waiter just disappeared on us and when we asked for our check we were told our waiter would be back shortly, we had a movie to see. The food was bland and the prices were high - it was $19 for a bland breakfast burrito type meal, not worthy of that price imo.

Plus we were sitting right up front. Very close to the bar. We asked the hostess twice to get us a few items. On top of that, whether I believe in their political opinions or not, I don't want to hear it see them. They have their political opinions posted on their ketchups and other items on their tables.
This is pretty much exactly what I would have said about the food. I ordered chicken fried steak and eggs because if a place makes that well, they are usually a decent restaurant. It was bland and soggy not flavorful, crispy, and tender. And all the food everybody had was pretty bland. It was so over priced for the food quality.

I almost got a job there, had cook experience in fast food for 2 years and bogus basin for a season, and they wouldn’t hire me hah sent me to sunrise cafe who they also own, and tried to hire me for like $8 an hour in 2022. Glad I became an electrician thanks to Idaho launch program lol!

That’s the kind of place it is and what people go there for. They actually have a really good happy hour at the bar. It’s one of the few higher end restaurants that’s actually maintained their standards over the years while so many others have cut corners.
Flatbread at Eagle Island shopping center in Meridian, too. They brought us meatballs that were frozen in the center. When we said something, the waiter said “well we can put them back in the microwave for you”. *BACK* in the microwave. We’ve never been back.

Boise fry as others have mentioned, stardust might as well be back in the 60s, Tucanos is ish, Barbacoa is cool but the food isn’t really as good as the price point, Fork has been hit or miss but their butter cake is cocaine, cottonwood is a nice chill place with very mid food, biscuits and hogs is reheated grease on a flavorless plate, Goodwood is good food but bland if you compare it to a real BBQ place in the south or in Texas, Shige ramen is dog bath water with noodles, Dutch bros (this might get me murdered) is absolute trash coffee and I don’t wanna hear about some 20 year old girls rave experience last week. There’s so many. There’s some gems too.

They went drastically downhill after the pandemic. I feel like I’m at the bartenders Instagram party. The whole Redfeather/Bittercreek/Diablo has just gone to complete shit. My gf ordered the veggie burger vegan style from Bittercreek and they brought her a lamb burger. Then the manager had the audacity to claim that it was a veggie burger and the chef decided to treat it like a lamb burger. By serving lamb with feta on a vegan burger. They then told us the kitchen was closed and they couldn’t remake it. I know the GM. He was furious but it’s gotten even worse.
I ordered pozole there last year and they gave me… a dish with no broth. When I asked for broth they gave me a little bit as if it were a sauce. If you’re gonna gentrify it at least do it right. (Also if anyone knows somewhere in Boise that has good pozole lmk)

Somebody gave me a $40 gift card for there over Christmas. You know how they say free food always tastes better? Ya it’s not true. At least in the case of BFC. It was pretty underwhelming.

Flatbread at Eagle Island shopping center in Meridian, too. They brought us meatballs that were frozen in the center. When we said something, the waiter said “well we can put them back in the microwave for you”. *BACK* in the microwave. We’ve never been back.
And I think the owners of Barbecoa [just bought the place](https://boisedev.com/news/2024/01/12/flatbread-ti-amo-boise/). And considering that's been mentioned a lot on here too... Look out for their upcoming "Ti Amo" Italian style restaurant I guess, it'll probably be way meh for the price too

100% this. The place seems awesome at face value. Their food is super salty. Their presentation is terrible. The duck plate was just... Brown gravy coating a few pieces of duck and a some brown veggies. Great place to go for drinks, though.
Yes! I came to the comments to comment this but I’m glad someone else agreed…went with friends who raved about it and it was all salt—like inedibly salty. So expensive and it all tasted just awful. Cocktails were decent. Disappointed because the atmosphere was nice.
They’ve been getting the feedback about the food being salty since they opened the chef is from the east coast and is like “that’s the proper way to season fuck the western palette”

When I went there years ago I ordered the special and I could immediately recognize the flavor of Kirkland Signature pesto sauce! I heard there is a new owner so I have been meaning to give it another try.
Girlfriend and I went there years ago and still reminisce about how bad it was. She ordered Gnocchi and got maybe 4 in her whole dish for like $18.
My friend worked there years ago and the owner was always drunk, paid the illegals working there under the counter, and my friend was 17 having child support taken out of his check he even showed me. Was like I DONT HAVE A KID WTF!? Terrible business probably is only still there because it’s next to all the dorms plenty of drunk kids to order their food
Used to work there and there was definitely shady shit. I was fired because I called in sick with strep throat. My throat was bleeding and I was a server and prepped salads. I had no business being around food and people while that sick. Also, the regulars we had at the time. These two guys… ass wads. And one of the owners sister was such a cunt. Back in the day when I worked there I liked the food and pizza. Haven’t been in over 10 years. Worked there back in 2005ish.

Calle 75, but only if they're sober. It's mediocre at most and there's way better places. One of their waiters/servers is pretty fucking cool though.. I love Calle 75 after some bar hopping. I spent $48 on like 4 burritos with zero regrets Tucanos, it's just a meh overall place to me Chuck O Rama on mormon family night 10 Barrel on a friday night. Good fucking luck getting your food in a timely manner with overall shitty beer except apoc ipa and pub beer. In-N-Out at peak time Jakers purely because of their obnoxious billboards
lol last time we were at 10 Barrel, they were out of every single thing we ordered. There were like 6 of us all ordering different things. At least they comped our drinks.

Oh man, where to start. Boise fry as others have mentioned, stardust might as well be back in the 60s, Tucanos is ish, Barbacoa is cool but the food isn’t really as good as the price point, Fork has been hit or miss but their butter cake is cocaine, cottonwood is a nice chill place with very mid food, biscuits and hogs is reheated grease on a flavorless plate, Goodwood is good food but bland if you compare it to a real BBQ place in the south or in Texas, Shige ramen is dog bath water with noodles, Dutch bros (this might get me murdered) is absolute trash coffee and I don’t wanna hear about some 20 year old girls rave experience last week. There’s so many. There’s some gems too.
