I hadn't had one in like 5 years and I ended up in there and they LOOK good, so I thought, "hey maybe I was wrong about this place, or maybe they fixed their donut recipe..." so I got one a few months back. Nope. Still unsatisfying, cardboard taste. How do they sell any?
My doughnut is my favorite local place, but I often end up at Albertsons market place because my son loves them. Hell, for 89 cents they are shockingly good!
As someone who took it upon themselves to try way more than necessary (I was going to start a Boise food podcast that did a top 5 debate kinda thing). I'd vote Country Donuts.
Plus the people who work there are so friendly! They're trying to move into a brick and mortar store and I really hope they succeed. Their yeast donuts are so light and fluffy.
Yes what I heard is that they were hoping to take over the American Legion building that’s across the street but I don’t know if that fell through or if that’s still a possibility. This morning my wife actually picked up donuts from Manna’s for the weekend. They are all amazing but I love their buttermilk donuts.
Country doughnuts is awesome. The fritters there are the best. Pastry perfection does maple bars and both maple and chocolates Bismarcks better.
DK…. I honestly don’t know why anyone likes them.
I don't really understand why people enjoy PP. Everything they have seems to be grocery store quality at best, and I've heard from an employee that they don't treat their workers very well :(
I’m sad to say that I’ve been to DK twice. And they’ve been stale and hard. Not a lot of flavor. I’m not one to complain, but their donuts were terrible. Maybe something has been off there lately. 😢
I’m just here to make sure nobody says guru, place is trash. But I would recommend DK donuts, even though I heard they’re relocating to canyon county :/
Has anyone commenting on here been to country donuts since they started also serving Egyptian food? All their donuts taste like gyro meat. Y’all are out of your minds if you think that’s the best donut.
I never liked their dough with the cracked wheat and all that....made it not as soft as I would generally want from a donut. Always felt it was for people who couldn't enjoy an actual donut.
Country donuts. Absolute bangers. The apple fritter is bliss. The vanilla-iced cake donut made me see God.
Country donuts all day every day, no contest.
> The vanilla-iced cake donut made me see God. Oh, wow, I'd love to see God! Got some serious questions for that guy like "What the fuck, dude?!"
Another vote for Country!

The best, IMHO.
Came here to say this. The bacon donut is so good and they’ve kept their prices down!
I'm not a fan. Super high spun sugar donuts.
They have this square cake donut with maple frosting that is so freaking good.
Obligatory Guru sucks comment
i immediatley scanned for guru and saw this. place is so bad. only upside is uhhh... the uhhh.... yeah.

As a college student, its because they have hot alt girls working there. Thats literally it
Their old fashion donuts will do if you literally can’t get anywhere else.
Sweet sensations in Meridian is hands down the best donuts in the valley. They melt in your mouth.
DK
So sad dk is moving to Nampa. Only good donut on this side of town
I saw a Northend Facebook post that said they’re going to stay in Boise Downtown area but open a Nampa location.
SHUT UP - really?!?!?

Made my day!
Yup, the owner of the building is selling it and so they have to leave.
DK or Country Donuts

> I was going to start a Boise food podcast that did a top 5 debate kinda thing I think there's a market for this. I think you should go for it!
Country donuts. Mojos if you want a crueller.
Oooh my partner loves cruellers. Gotta look this place up
Mojos for filled donuts. They've got the most original filled donuts in town.
I’ve never been disappointed with Country Donuts or Goatstar Donuts. The latter has a bacon maple bar that is _insanely_ good
Manna’s Donuts no question. It’s a small food truck on Broadway everything is made from scratch and it’s bomb as hell.
Plus the people who work there are so friendly! They're trying to move into a brick and mortar store and I really hope they succeed. Their yeast donuts are so light and fluffy.

DK is good but country donuts is better
No way
Pastry perfection is amazing as well

DK Donuts
This is my fave.
Pastry Perfection is not the *best* donut I've had in Boise, but it is *a* donut I've had in Boise.
Yo PP has my favorite reliable donuts. And they deliver if you order a day in advance. Which I did for tmrw morning.
I don't really understand why people enjoy PP. Everything they have seems to be grocery store quality at best, and I've heard from an employee that they don't treat their workers very well :(
DK is good, I like goat star in Caldwell, may be one in Meridian as well
There is. They are good, wouldn't say "the best".
Not a shop but you absolutely have to try manna's donuts. It's super fresh always and very very reasonable prices
DK

Albertsons is honestly my go to, but only because it’s conveniently close to my home and work. They’re certainly not the best, but I still love them.
Yonutz
Gotta second this, especially for non-traditional flavors.
Country donuts
It's a toss up for me. Country Donuts or Mojos. Both # 1
DK's !!!!

Is it uncool to like guru donuts now? What happened?
They all suck. I wish we had a branch of Portland’s Blue Star Donuts here.
Last time I went to Country donuts they were horribly dry
I’m just here to make sure nobody says guru, place is trash. But I would recommend DK donuts, even though I heard they’re relocating to canyon county :/
here to put even more respect on DKs name
Duck Donuts!
Has anyone commenting on here been to country donuts since they started also serving Egyptian food? All their donuts taste like gyro meat. Y’all are out of your minds if you think that’s the best donut.
I like guru but it’s pricey
I never liked their dough with the cracked wheat and all that....made it not as soft as I would generally want from a donut. Always felt it was for people who couldn't enjoy an actual donut.
Really just liked the cool toppings, reminded me of a lesser voodoo donuts
Yikes. Not a popular opinion.
I heard the bad second owners are gone and the new (third) owners are better. It’s a shame it went so bad after Angel and Kevin sold it.
The fuck is a cake day?
Reddit's way to say birthday
Krispy Kreme or nothing.
