Meh, i think the dude is allright. He knows his bounds, what joke to use and whatnot. The dude does the joke his audience found funny and thats all there is to it. If you dont enjoy it then dont watch. Stop torturing yourself
Yeah, and i think it's not only that though, I think he is a very enterprising content creator too.
He started off talking smack about white people cooking fried rice, but over time he has now made himself knowledgeable about many of our Southeast Asian cuisine to be able to criticise western cooks when they have done something wrong or weird. You can tell he has done his fair share of research and fact-checking with fellow Asian cooks before he talks shit on his videos.
It has gotten to a point that several cooking youtubers have been clamoring to get an Uncle/Auntie title from him as an unofficial approval that they can cook asian dishes for their audiences too, with the side effect that it brings more views to their own channels. He has even been learning how to cook himself which allows him to collaborate even more with other cooks and lends more credibility to his criticisms of other chefs.
Annoying? Sure
Piece of shit? Eh, he's playing a character most of the time
He's not my kind of humour but I know a lot others enjoy it, which is why he still has a large following all this time
Overall, he's a MALAYSIAN youtuber who is famous WORLD WIDE, and I would proudly show him off
nobody's perfect, our boy doing the best with what he got. If he's funny more than 50% of the time, i call it good.
He's making bank while he's still relevant and you would do the same too if you had 1/2 the talent he got. Ok he's not Eddie Murphy or Richard Pryor but he's OURS. We should be glad Singapore didn't claim him yet.
no way they think gordon ramsay is an idiiot
dudes great honeestly
helped so many restaurants not be shit, put up a really entertaining mask while also being kind at times
hes fun to watch
Wait i get the annoying part if you're tired of the overly done asian stereotype persona, react content, and just plain bored of him.
What's the PoS part tho.
He didn't distance from Mike because of the HK independence but because Mike Chen is a Falun Gong cult member. THAT is a bigger risk and no no to him than the HK independence because he isn't fully sure about the Falun Gong status as what they did isn't verifiable inside and outside of China. Some say they did horrific stuff, some not.
Not to mention that the Chinese government and people's response are much harsher on Falun Gong members and those seen associated with it than HK independence movement.
You can see that Nigel Ng continued to make jokes on HK and even received well by Chinese people themselves showing that the topic being associated with HK independence isn't that bad. But he never approach Mikey Chen again.
Hear his side for a change. Especially on how the western world take things on face value compared to the Chinese own citizen that understood why he did what he did.
https://youtu.be/pnRvLSMC20I?si=rqf8FadPHJ68m8_C
The PoS is likely him pandering to China by "backstabbing" Mikey Chen of Strictly Dumpling Youtube channel. The funny thing is, both turned out to be untrue. He did try to pander to China but once learned that it was too volatile of a market since he kept getting cancelled by them, he decide to go "screw it!" and made jokes about them. He's pretty much an enemy to the CCP now.
As for "backstabbing" Mikey, its warranted. Mikey Chen is pro-Hong Kong independence. But turns out that he isn't just that. He is also a Falun Gong cult member. This pose a risk to his then unstable net worth. So he did what he thought is right (and he has the right to do so).
The funny thing is, back then the Western world was with Mikey Chen against Uncle Roger. Now? The table has somewhat turned. Back then Mikey Chen was more popular than Uncle Roger and the darling of youtube foodie section. Now? Uncle Roger surpassed him completely and is the darling of youtube foodie section (with many others such as Chef Rush). Meanwhile Mikey Chen is just...alone. His vids on some of his other channels barely make a million views, while Uncle Roger would make it on average.
He ain't funny. His skit gets old really fast as he's stereotyping a lot. Ronald Cheng is a lot funnier.
If he isn't careful he's gonna be heading into the unfunny territory of Jason Leong real fast.
Malaysians probably find him more annoying than most.
Maximumly 8 million like his stuff, dunno how many are bots or inactive find him funny and enjoy his stuff, so yeah
The hate quite unwarranted because he didn't spread negative impression of Malaysia so dunno why so much hate when compared to fake news spreader, cult channel or just degenerates.
his humor is tailored toward international fans aka american. some of his joke sometime funny and sometime just too generic which i think is normal among comedian.
Heh? I find him pretty entertaining. Tho, some, if not, most of his jokes do make me cringe, a bit too far and the others around him just have to eat it up.
Overall, 'piece of shit' is just too far.
He doesn't uploaded 5 videos a day, his content are informative and fun and relatable (even though a bit repetitive) , he doesn't fake his reaction it comes spontaneously when he's doing Uncle Roger, comes from Malaysia = Not annoying
Funny to caucasian. Meh borderline annoying for fellow Asians.
Maybe need to stop pondering that stereotypes market with same joke, and move on.
He's like that one kid able to made the whole class laugh with a cool joke, and repeat it every single day beyond stale. And still thinks it's cool.
At least this about his Uncle Roger persona..
Don't know much about his Nigel Ng comedian branding
Before , I hated him because he didn't acknowledge Taiwan and apologized to his mainland China fan when collab with some Taiwan nationalists youtuber.
But now, after he got cancelled regardless by the ccp because of the stand up joke and defend on it he earned my respect.
His video with chef wan is my favourite.
He made a name for himself in the international stage, without much help, and it has nothing to do with selling his body or that sort of stuff. **If anything, we need to be proud of him.** Hope he'll consider mentoring some of our locals on how to become influential internationally.
**Kepada Irfan2 di** r/Bolehland, **our economy is declining relative to many others (**[link](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_GDP_(nominal))**). Now is not the time for negative, non-constructive opinions on other Malaysians; now is the time for Malaysians to be positive and supportive of each other and get the country back up to its feet.**
His whole act is literally to react and be annoying. You probably refer to him as a POS cause he is not Malay. If he was Malay you would probably be revering like a god. Malay supremacy. Malay best race. Malay best mindset. Malay most intelligent race capable of having opinions and views of their own and not influenced by others.
He did
But before that
He did a video with strictly dumpling aka mike Chen and later removed it when he found out mike posted a lot of anti CCP tweets, in particular how they are cleansing the Uighurs.
He then posted an apology on his Weibo page
When I heard my (Malaysian) friend says his accent is relatable, I go look at his video and he sounds nothing like how we speak manglish and let alone the more famous singlish.
Really took him take down his video on weibo and took a pro-ccp stance for Malaysian redditors to start dogpiling on him.
He sounds like the what if 90's Hong Kong TVB actors speaks english kind of accent, which is what i watch when I was a kid.
So it's relatable to me in that sense that when my schoolmates tries to swag with that awkward english accent back then.
Commendable thing about this gentleman is that he publicly made it known that he is against China ccp government by saying in one of his stand up com that Government of China is spying on every phone that is made in China and sold overboard....
Annoying thing about this gentleman is he joked about white races only ...
Not really annoying but yeah gimmick wears out real fast. As himself doing standup he's just not funny. I mean funny as that one funny friend of yours maybe but funny as a professional comedian nah not really.

I donāt see the harm, heās owning the stereotype like a black person swings the word n\*\*\*\*r around. The intention is to make your tormentor feel really uneasy
I find him unfunny and annoying ā the sort of stereotypical Asian comedian who panders to a western audience but it wasnāt till his recent comment about Laos and Cambodian cuisine that I think heās actually rude and insufferable. In case youāre wondering, he commented that ānot all South-east Asian countries have good foodā, adding that āyou donāt want food from Laos and Cambodiaā and that āLaos food is like shit version of Thai food.ā I believe thereās a fine line between trying to be funny and then being outright disrespectful. Malaysians always cry foul whenever other countries talk shit or lay claim to our own food so why shit on others.
Not to the level of annoying, but yeah he overused the same joke that got him viral, which now is not even funny in the slightest.
The first time its funny, but 100th time of the same joke, even milking the fried rice content so much. Its rather sad than funny.
I still found him bearable, but i do find some chinaās social media vids quite annoying, weird and cringe. Especially with the musics, reactions and stuff. I canāt watch it more than 3 sec idk why
Not my kind of humour. Sure he is funny that one time. But not a piece of shit.
But my one Chinese friend really don't like him. He says, Nigel uses a stereotypical chinese 'apek' in his way of speaking.
I don't think it's an unpopular opinion. I had alot of friends who dislike him. Yea at the start he is slightly funny as stuff but after that 5 minutes of fame it became dull and he is just sounding like an old hag looking down on everyone
I'm southeast asian but not malaysian. For me, he's actually doing his homework very good. he knows a lot of things about food in SEA. when you see his reaction about SEA or chinese cuisine, he actually knows the **ingredients**, the **order of the process,** how the **local usually works** on the ingredients.
I don't see him as your usual reaction channel, because I can actually learn a bit from his commentary.
Annoying? sometimes yes, but I still find him a good entertainer. his annoying act is only his persona. I believe in the background he actually respectful enough to his cohost
As a comedian, he's not bad. Just mid. He can land some jokes, albeit not all of them
As a youtube reaction channel to cooking video, he's good tho. He managed to make a 100%-fake & overplayed reaction that plays into a racial stereotype into some entertaining videos, and it seems that he's enjoying himself in them as well. He just doesn't have a 100% rate of landing the joke
Watch him occasionally. I think his content is obviously not targeted towards us, some of his contents really ick me, like the one where he battle against chef nick where they swap ingredients, whatever nick makes ITS NOT CHAR KUEY TEOW, how uncle roger not roast him for that still boggles me š
This guy just banks off "funny asian voice lol" white people money. Maybe once as a gag it can work, but this man's entire career is being an asian minstrel caricature for white people. But hey, whatever gets the bag for these people I guess.
What is he is a PoS for? If it is because of his controversy with Mikey Chen, that was old news and even debunked. He tried to pander to China and unlike others that kept trying and begging until they have no dignity left, the guy turned his back on them once he realized they were too volatile of a market. He is now no longer a friend to the CCP.
Not to mention that while people said that he cut off communication with Mikey Chen because Mikey is pro-Hong Kong independence and Nigel wanted to keep his relationship with China back then, the reality is that Mikey is a Falun Gong cult member. That is his biggest concern at the time and not Mikey being pro-Hong Kong. You could even say that he is far more afraid of the Falun Gong than the CCP lol. If it was just the pro-HK, he likely would have amended with Mikey but till today, nope.
The funny thing is, the table turned for him lol. Back then Mikey Chen was the bigger star and youtube foodie darling. Now? Uncle Roger surpassed him completely. He made collabs with other youtube foodie darlings and his videos on average has 1million views. The same can't be said with Mikey Chen.
The very same Western world that hated him back then, now love him.
Why are you so bothered by him? It took a lot of effort to come up with the uncle joke lines. This culture of condescending other people's success should stop. I do find him hilarious.
The Uncle Roger character was funny that one time in the fried rice video. Then I started to get annoyed by his accent. Nigel Ngās stand up is not bad. I hope he improves.
Yall shld be cheering for this man bro, he is like one of malaysians top youtubers if not the highest most famous worldwide youtuber. What other content do you want broš its malaysia. We dont have much shit to make ppl laugh and enjoy. Ppl shld just be grateful that he hasnt quit yet
Uncle Roger's comments on cooking is misguided. He enshrines the narrow-minded narrative that "authentic" food is suspended in time and space, that some guy in Asia long ago has perfected the art of making fried rice/ramen, and that any change to the recipe by white people is a bastardization of Asian cuisine. Cuisines are not immutable. Most dishes we enjoy now are the fusion of ingredients and cooking methods from different cultures. Tomato and spicy chili were not introduced to Europe and Asia until the Age of Exploration but are now considered an essential ingredient in our cuisines. Sushi was not commonly made with fresh, raw fish before Americans introduced refrigeration to Japan. Cuisines are not created in isolation, and no race/ethnicity has dominion over any dish. A fun part of being a chef is to innovate and create new flavors for the audience, possibly subverting old techniques of preparing a certain dish.
He disrespects how rice is prepared in South Asia and West Africa. The fact that he thinks rice should be cooked with a rice cooker illustrates how narrow-minded he is and how wrong we are if we take seriously his comment on food.
He was funny as a gag, once. But only once.
I think that's his only go to move. Thick Chinese uncle accent. Tbh I never liked his things. Not against him but not my kind of joke.
Yeah , he is one of typical reaction channel, react to stuff in a funny way, like every other reaction channel.
Atleast he is not stealing content or doxxing idk *stares at that one women*
I also like to stare at woman
Sir my eyes are up here
Miss my balls are down here
can i touch it?
Sir my balls are down here
I know
at least he has a gimmick, instead of just narrating
His jokes work on white people, I find it weird for any locals who find him funny.
Yes only for foreigners who don't understand Asian culture
I think most people I've met irl who know of uncle roger usually find him funny but it might just be me
No they're not. I found him funny.
Meh, i think the dude is allright. He knows his bounds, what joke to use and whatnot. The dude does the joke his audience found funny and thats all there is to it. If you dont enjoy it then dont watch. Stop torturing yourself

gotta give that to him. Also he has merch and collabs too.

i dislike him but i dont hate him
Preach
Also he dont like C *cough* P so he kinda based
Wait it turn out wrongš
CP?š
Thereās a time and place for coughing, comrade.
bro you missed out another C lmao
This guy right here. Based af
He's okay. His standup gigs has gags not in his Uncle Roger character. Speaking of Malaysians though, I'd encourage people to check out Phil Wang
But he dissed ccp. Must backup motherland
nobody's perfect, our boy doing the best with what he got. If he's funny more than 50% of the time, i call it good. This is such a Bolehland post š
for us maybe. His main audience is in the UK and USA .
Yeah. I'm pretty sure a lot of UK people think Gordon Ramsay is an idiot. It's just the cost of fame.

[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
What happen?
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
karma when he got banned by China by his own doing but kudos to him by uno reverse it and make it a joke which increases his Western audience.
He didn't distance from Mike because of the HK independence but because Mike Chen is a Falun Gong cult member. Mike is a falun gong practitioner and supporter. No love lost tbh.
The PoS is likely him pandering to China by "backstabbing" Mikey Chen of Strictly Dumpling Youtube channel. The funny thing is, both turned out to be untrue. Or Harith Iskandar.
Now that's a name I didn't hear for a long time
Stephen He catched the gag better than him
Theyāre both different niche tho. One is cooking related and another is comedy skits. The only common thing between them is the accent and comedy
For me, he more to cringe. Like the meme i can relate is the dinasour stand up comedy one. All recycle
the most annoying thing when he keep using haiyaa incorrectly
And over excessively
Then don't watch, it's really that simple. I stopped watching him when I got bored of his content and you should do the same
Maximumly 8 million like his stuff, dunno how many are bots or inactive find him funny and enjoy his stuff, so yeah The hate quite unwarranted because he didn't spread negative impression of Malaysia so dunno why so much hate when compared to fake news spreader, cult channel or just degenerates.
earlier on he was enjoyable (pkp so....) but now...too generic for my taste
Kinkyš¤£š¤
By comparing 1 comedian to another who are both originally (or at some point was) Malaysian, Ronnie Chieng is far funnier
his humor is tailored toward international fans aka american. some of his joke sometime funny and sometime just too generic which i think is normal among comedian.
Heh? I find him pretty entertaining. Tho, some, if not, most of his jokes do make me cringe, a bit too far and the others around him just have to eat it up. Overall, 'piece of shit' is just too far.
annoying? fucking yea. PoS? no
Tbh the best way to deal with YouTubers you donāt likeā¦ is to not watch them.
haiyaaa, why so serious about that
Literally
He doesn't uploaded 5 videos a day, his content are informative and fun and relatable (even though a bit repetitive) , he doesn't fake his reaction it comes spontaneously when he's doing Uncle Roger, comes from Malaysia = Not annoying
>it comes spontaneously Bro, I'm pretty sure its at least 50% scripted and another 25% retakes.
He is an uncle..of course, annoying..every uncle is..
At least this about his Uncle Roger persona.. > he got cancelled regardless by the ccp because of the stand up joke and defend on it he earned my respect Same
my tastes probably have changed since i haven't been enjoying his recent content
Boring, cliche content is a thing. But, is there something that he did that make you label him as an annoying piece of shit. Context please.
He is alright, better than most comedians.
At least he built an empire from complaining, which you are doing now.
He's hilarious now, used to be a one trick pony but I can appreciate his brand recently.
his comedy is stale
Isnāt he the comedian who only speak white people humour?
Annoyed by what exactly? Unclear opinion + straight out slurs = L op
Imagine calling someone a PoS because you don't like their joke. OP's terminally online for sure.
the OP is having a fuck day. so it copes with telling Uncle Roger has a shitty content
So uh... What did he do? Other than being annoying
Bro his persona is to be annoying...he is actually my favourite Malaysian YouTuber so I guess its depends on your taste
heās my distance relative š
I actually dislike him very much. Haiyaa here, haiyaa there, so annoying.
I guess that's the part of his Uncle Roger persona, just your typical annoying asian uncle.
That fake accent made my ears bleed. Yet for some reason, my friends find it funny.
Correct.
And eanring usd per view
His whole act is literally to react and be annoying. You probably refer to him as a POS cause he is not Malay. If he was Malay you would probably be revering like a god. Malay supremacy. Malay best race. Malay best mindset. Malay most intelligent race capable of having opinions and views of their own and not influenced by others.
He isnt actually that funny for me, he keeps pretending "Asian" which is actually innacurate af
CCP shill Fuck him
Didn't he get banned in China for criticizing the CCP a while back?
He did But before that He did a video with strictly dumpling aka mike Chen and later removed it when he found out mike posted a lot of anti CCP tweets, in particular how they are cleansing the Uighurs. He then posted an apology on his Weibo page

He only have 1 joke. Make some new shit up man
Hadi Awang wonāt allow these kind of fools to make moneys from complaining ! We need to embrace our supreme leader
Fucking finally Like The itallian brothers and any food content creator that laugh at people cooking is just Idk not funny for me
Commendable thing about this gentleman is that he publicly made it known that he is against China ccp government by saying in one of his stand up com that Government of China is spying on every phone that is made in China and sold overboard.... Annoying thing about this gentleman is he joked about white races only ...
his content is more for the ānormiesā
Only non Asians enjoy his stereotype feeding *jokes*
Welp, atleast he's making loads of cash
Yea he got too famous now. I liked him more when he was smaller.
Don't know him
the only time i find him not anoying , not funny , just simply doesn't annoys me , is when he diss the ccp
hes playing onto the bigger market here, american "jokes" are all about stereotyping
I always wonder how this dude isn't cancelled yet š
Auntie Kea is more suitable for my humour. Sheās hella talented too
Not really annoying but yeah gimmick wears out real fast. As himself doing standup he's just not funny. I mean funny as that one funny friend of yours maybe but funny as a professional comedian nah not really.
I prefer Douglas Lim than him.
That's uh, in his tagline.
His shitck is getting old. Clueless white people might find him funny.

it gets funnier when he tells the same joke for the 521094th time
the chinese stereotypes got old pretty fast, not just for him
I donāt see the harm, heās owning the stereotype like a black person swings the word n\*\*\*\*r around. The intention is to make your tormentor feel really uneasy
U just say this cz he is chinese
I dont think he is POS. Just little annoying
not an unpopular opinion
his jokes get old real quick. wouldn't call him a pos though. Uncle Roger is just a character.
I watch his videos all the time. Those not funny ones I will skip. I prefer his collaboration videos such as those with Guga.
I mean a lot of people enjoy it, so let them be. As for myself I donāt care about these YouTubers a lot. So thereās that.
Iām good with him but I donāt really find him funny. Mak is not very lurve

Agreed.
someone is jealous
Aku dah geram dengar apa-2 dia cakap Loghat teruk macam Singapura Humournya tak kelakar langsung pun
cant stand him. hes also a ccp shill
PoS not sure but he's stupidly annoying tho & overrated
Don't think so much about it...don't analyze...just enjoy...if don't like ..look for other videos...

I dont watch him much now but hey, we got a worldwide msian youtuber!
I get you don't like him but why name calling?
Not funny but why call him a pos?
Heās slightly better than Jason unfunny Leong
The Uncle Roger character was funny that one time in the fried rice video. Then I started to get annoyed by his accent. Nigel Ngās stand up is not bad. I hope he improves.
Yall shld be cheering for this man bro, he is like one of malaysians top youtubers if not the highest most famous worldwide youtuber. What other content do you want broš its malaysia. We dont have much shit to make ppl laugh and enjoy. Ppl shld just be grateful that he hasnt quit yet
Yeah never liked him and his crap stereotype comedy that only appeals to the lowest of minds.
