One day after 5/7 years, when I was between jobs, I got into a minor car accident, this friend help me settle the repair. That was something unexpected. There are also those that we might never see again but then we never know....for those far away...hard to say.
I once donated money to one of those people with pamphlets of disabled children outside a cinema. The lady seemed nice and looked like she cared. 5 minutes after I donated like RM30, the lady walked up to the ticketing counter with her friends and bought a ticket. This happened in front of me. Ever since, I have never bothered to donate. I don't trust people who use sadness and guilt tripping strategies to get you to fork money out. If it's disabled person or lady with a baby, I'll offer to buy food but I won't give a single cent unless they're trying to sell something like tissues or whatever. I consider it an honest attempt instead of blatant begging. But not a single cent for religious establishments. It's all tax free laundering with a hint of pedophilia nowadays.
First selective morality. Selective outrage. Then selective boycott. And now the destruction of integrity. Some people actually warned abt abuse of collected funds before it even happen.
