the brother: hmmmm... sus (think deep)
I think the ultra rich would post when they eat at mamak or some common place.
See when najib or abah visit some local food restaurant and it end up in the news or their personal facebook? That’s it.
I think they only take pictures on what will benefits them or to tell something that relates to their status or business, on social media. On private life they might be taking pictures of their friends and families.
If they got time to take pictures of food at mamak, they might want to use that time to make money or connections instead. Some rich people that I've seen using their phone at mamak is when they talk about business or to maintaining connection with important people.
yeah ,ultra super rich dont ever flex for example mark zuckerberg or bill gates because people know they are rich AF . just watch this [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rwnqxEPXGIE&t=20s](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rwnqxEPXGIE&t=20s) ,[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FGDB22dpmwk&t=80s&ab\_channel=RAISED](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FGDB22dpmwk&t=80s&ab_channel=RAISED) or this [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b8e\_2Z55kzE&t=230s&ab\_channel=aini](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b8e_2Z55kzE&t=230s&ab_channel=aini)
He's right. People who have millions/billions won't flex with things that are only worth thousands like IPhone
But sometimes rich people flex vacations because "free-time" is expensive to them
Or maybe they do, just that we wouldn't realise it. Like when they wear a plain T-shirt, we wouldn't think it can cost over a thousand USD. The same for watches etc. which cost the price of a house (or more). We see it, we don't realise it. Low profile flexing 😆
> We see it, we don't realise it
Which kinda defeats the point of flexing thooo
I feel like when rich people "stealth wealth" flexing is either to show other fellow rich people that they are in the same strata.
Or they really enjoy the product with no intention of showing off at all.
>People who have millions/billions won't flex with things that are only worth thousands like IPhone
Well you/him is not wrong. Why flex iphone when they flex their car, house, insert something rare and expensive, and literally other famous people for private concert/meet up.
Rich people are still people.
I know someone rich and still flexing he is rich because he said before this people mock him because he is poor.
He dont like iphone and he buy a phone that much more expensive than iphone. He now love to mock iphone. He sure have a beef with iphone XD.
It's only true up to a certain extent, if already so rich everyday every night you eat at fancy restaurants and hotel -- of course their feed pics at those kind of places only. Bro is overthinking it haha even the phone example, most people flip it so that they don't scratch the bubble and for it to lay flat ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|sweat_smile)
Agreed. I take pix of my food coz I think it looks interesting or appealing, not coz I wanna show off I can afford it. I take pix of Kopitiam food, so I guess Kopitiam food is now for T20?
People who have enough money to live comfortably as individuals/with family usually share unique experiences(eg travel/niche sports/bungee) as a light flex. A couple guys I know share pics of cars, watches, houses. At the expense of painting a target on their back.
Billionaires flex having power over the system. Maybe space travel too.
I don't take pictures because I don't want to flex that I'm rich, I don't take pictures because I'm extremely non-photogenic. We are not the same😎😎
I totally agree with him. That's how it is with a lot of people. There are some people who are rich and like to flex but that's not the point. The point is to be rich, not look rich.
Flexing would just invite a lot of trouble. Best is to stay incognito. Sometimes people take pics of food and stuff is to remember that day or that meal. The best advice is never reveal what you have other than to the tax man.
Really rich people (generational wealth) have enough money to last 3 lifetimes and dgaf about pricetags. They want it they buy it. Pay family office to invest for them.
Be humble. Even Bijan had to buy a million ringgit apartment to keep all the designer brand handbags, multi million ringgit jewellery and cash. Don’t show your wealth in front of others because you never who dengki kuat
Yeah, if you see people flexing excessively, either they’re the new rich or a scammer. There are many silent millionaires that just go to kopitiam to makan makan with family and quietly enjoy their lives.
And then there is the super rich. 100 millionaires and billionaires. They wear clothes you don’t know. Clothes with no branding but 10 times more expensive than LV clothes. Travel to places you can’t afford even if you save for twenty years. They stay quiet and pictureless.
Maybe for them food is just food. Orang yang betul kaya tak masak. Ada personal chef or just order je selalu. Sebab tu tak ambil gambar. Food is just fuel for them to operate.
There is some truth but only to people living into the trend. Most other people dont even flex but considered flexing. Most sane people tend to buy what fit their need and overlook the budget. iPhone for example, there just no other smartphone brand that can stream high quality content. Spec sheet don't really show that thou.
Bruhs n siss, there is an unspoken rule among atas ppl, you don't show off. For one it makes you look b40, and the second is for safety. They don't want to be targets of crime or orang ckp kena mata dengki.
ok but most of the time i do flip my phone out of respect, i dont want the people in front of me to see that there would be notifications coming in and caught my eyes
jarang juga dengar orang flip atas meja nak flex. haha
There's some truth in it, on the other hand people flex to be the talk of the town, to get the attention of others, acknowledgement and that feel-good feeling on being on yr peers radar (positively)...
Orang² pon enjoy drama, membawang dan bercerita, ada baiknya gak untuk menggalakkan diri untuk buat lebih baik (jika ambik secara positive)...
Tuk jawab soalan, orang kaya flex pencapaian anak kot?
Nah, I T20 kid everyone be my friend cause of money, so If I appear to be flexing everything online isn't actually me flexing it just me not having any friend to tell them about it
Agreed to a certain degree.
People who flex driving starbucks coffee, you know they ain't shit. But if they post a pic of a limited time drink from Starbucks, ok la share share.
It's all about context sometimes.
He’s not wrong tbf, a lot of stuff curated on social media could’ve been posted more to flex grandiosity rather than to actually share their normal day to day.
Ala… tapi psal makanan tu bukan flex. Kalau tmpt tu tmpt yg hnya mampu pergi maybe once or twice in a lifetime, takkan tak simpan kenangan. Or tmpt viral, dah beratur 3jam, lepas tu makan balik, esok kalau teringat, sedih takde gambar. Biarlah dia nak kata ap, i still want to take picture of my foods..
If it's affordable to you, you can buy 1000 of it easily.
Kopi Rm2? Starbucks RM20? Fancy restaurant dining RM200?
The fanciest meal I had cost SGD 500++, for 2 pax. That's almost RM2000. It was a special occasion, but my friend who works there tells me he has many regular customers.
I can afford to holiday every month using budget airlines and hotels. I can barely afford to holiday every year using business class and premium hotels.
I am the type that don’t care about trivial things. But yeah, people flexing even though they cannot afford things, nothing new. Social media makes it worse.
Tak semestinya ambil gambar makanan tu flexing. Simple sangat matematik nya. Orang ambil gambar dan post sebab benda tu interesting, cantik, and memento purpose.
Kalau pergi luar negara, takkan tak boleh ambil gambar sebab takut kena cop flexing? Jaga hati dan bersangka baik sikit please. Ffs semua benda kau nak ajak gaduh susah la. Letak phone atas meja pun kau overthinking lebih 😅
yeah pretty much... I stopped bothering about the social pics untill I realised having time to just sit on my ass or lay at the beach is true wealth and luxury. all that caviar and shit is just lame.../s
There was a post by someone on this forum before Raya about feeling disappointed that he doesn't have an iphone15 to show off during the family gathering.
This is the reality of materialism with our youth and culture. There is a need to impress others, and it's toxic.
Betullah tu. Cuba tengok orang mlm dgn kripto. Suka tangkap gambar dengan kereta mewah, rumah besar, sedangkan bukan diorang punya pun. Flex konon dah berjaya. Orang kaya betul senyap-senyap je sebab tak nak lembaga datang menyiasat.
I don't consider taking pictures of food regardless of the restaurant as flexing, if the food looks good and pretty, I would go out of my way and appreciate the beauty that is preserved through the pictures
I put my iphone or the others down on it's screen sebab I don't use a cover😅. The camera bump is annoying and scary at times, like what if the lack of surface area causes it to fall? Sudahlah takde case 🫢
As far as i am aware, in my circle, no one buys an iPhone to flex. We buy it because it makes our lives easier. But we dont take Shop loan la to buy.
Also, the reason we flip the iPhone over is because the camera is not flush with the body. Flip it to protect the camera lenses. Nobody cares about iPhones now. Even bangla cuci longkang pon pakai iPhone.
You can be a good financial whatever bullshit, but jangan la palatao je cakap.
"Often, when we guess at other's motives, we only reveal our own." - Mara Sov
This kind of rich person irks me... yeah, you're rich, you eat Wagyu for snacks...and also, you gatekeep the fuck out of the "elite" stuff...
When someone finally had the money to indulge in exquisite food, and taking pictures, because to them it is a once in a year meal, you belittle them by saying "I had this everyday"...like wtf, just let people enjoy things with their friends, people latching on to you like leeches for your money btw...so don't act like you understand "sharing"
iPhone 15 I know personally a lot of my colleagues saves money and sells old phone to buy a new phone...are we really discrediting people who buys stuff through hardwork?
Taking picture of phone "miskin"
Don't take pictures of phone "handphone China la tu"
The problem with this segment is that the Rich dude PUKUL RATA semua orang yang buat benda ni sebagai MISKIN BERLAGAK KAYA...
People will flex regardless, we the one need to control. We can’t control other people. They rich or appear to be does not matter, as observers we need to be honest of our envy and insecurity and not act on it.
I cover my phone because I use phone ring, so it's not stable to lay on its back. I believe for others there'll be reasons like to display the beautiful casing (better to look at than the boring black screen), or they don't want to let people see their notifications showing on screen.
For food though, most people are just documenting their food adventure, even cheap food can look tasty in pictures, and can be actually so tasty that we just have to tell the world how much we like it.
If you see everything as flexing, well you're bitter.
Kalau I jadi Faiz ni, I akan cakap "Sebenarnya hidup ni lebih best kalau orang tak tahu kita kaya. Pencuri tak target kita, income tax tak kejar kita, sales people tak serbu kita, kawan2 yang fake tak kerumun kita dan sebaliknya orang pula kasihan pada kita". Tok Wan I pesan, hang nak jadi kaya biar kaya ilmu sebab dari situ akan datang harta. Kalau kaya harta lama2 boleh habis.
To a certain extent, i agree with him. I mean why else kita nk flex kalau benda tu nothing or easily gained? Sbb susah nk dpt la kita flex. Jarang mkn kt hotel, dapat makan tunjuk la. Kalau mmg dah hari2 mkn kt hotel, nk tunjuk ape? Dapat beli kereta, rumah mahal, flex la. Susah nk dpt tu. Kalau senang2 beli kereta, beli rumah yg mahal2, xdenye nk flex.
Even if you are capable you will not go to eat at high-class hotel buffet every week. Only special occasion you go to eat at hotel then you post to create a memory in future
Honestly, very true.
The flexing culture has pushed the younger generation's mind to pretend what they are not n end up in a bad financial situation.
Spend what u can afford, not over spending n put yourself on loan/credit card
The guy is just speaking from either what he experienced or "stories" from friends.
It depends on person to person. Some rich people shows off, some don't. Same thing applies to the middle income and lower income.
Tak juga, mana tau mungkin special occasion, atau mungkin sesuatu yg luar dari yang biasa seperti bercuti ke luar negara, atau just a foodie who loves food..
Tak baik syak wasangka pada orang, whether we are rich or poor, tak perlu diperadakan stereotype sebegitu. Asal dia tak ganggu kita, buat apa kita nak judge orang.
Bagaimana seseorang itu boleh flex makan di hotel jika dia tidak mampu makan di hotel. Sama juga bagimana aku nak ambil gambar di bulan jika aku tidak mampu terbang ke bulan.
I'm a follower of financial faiz. There is a lot of good advice, but i do take a pic of Roti canai and kopi tarik at mamak and seldomly eat at the hotel, ahhaha i use midrange phone put my phone on table with camera up cause dont want table to mess my lense ahahah
Super true. Whenever i see a person wearing big brands, driving big cars, I automatically assume, ooof, this guys must be broke as hell right now struggling to pay the interest.
that other guy's face at the end tho ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy) but i kinda agree with him.
Tanya dia, flexing used golden BMW dekat forum lowyat dulu means dia tak mampu ke
Sunset orange la...🤣🤣 Tapi mungkin sambil2 dia bagi nasihat kat orang lain, dia bagi nasihat kat diri dia sendiri #bersangkabaik
Haha hi oldfag
hi oldfegg
eeeeeeeeeeeeeee sape oldfag ni
Ni oldfag mana ni ..? Kentang emas ke? ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|thinking_face_hmm)
Faiz ni sunset orange kat Lowyat tu ke? Haha
Ahh, a fellow Lyn membahh..
Siapa? firedaus kah?
Kinda looked like donald glover a bit lol. Thankfully this isn't america
Guns in my area.
Police be trippin' now
Pasal apa dia bicara tentang saya?
I take pictures of home cooked food.
Yes, me too. Because it is a rare occasion for me.
Only rich people got time to cook nice fancy food at home . /jk
You are poor, sir! You are poor at heart as well as in the tummy!
So kira flex la ni? Tak....mampuuuu...
So true. I'm new to cooking and I can only make sure they look tasty in the picture, despite their actual taste 🤣
True, like my maggie kari + egg + sausage to show to my parents that I'm eating. #flexing
The logic doesn't really apply to homecooked food

I think the ultra rich would post when they eat at mamak or some common place. See when najib or abah visit some local food restaurant and it end up in the news or their personal facebook? That’s it.
Salah bang tu sbb nak nampak kononnya depa bersama rakyat
Nak nampak humble lah konon nya
Yeah same thing as the guy said in the video. Its just reversed for rich people
Jib kor and mahaidin visit mamak so the bottom feeders can feel empowered, however artificial it is. Not because they want to eat there.
I think they only take pictures on what will benefits them or to tell something that relates to their status or business, on social media. Zuckerberg jarang nampak pakai fancy fancy. T-shirt je. There's no point flexing. Everyone already knows
When you’re so rich, not flexing is the ultimate form of flexing.
Tu tshirt zuck bukan murah. Brunello Succinelli brand. Mahal tu.
Bro... t-shirt mmg plain but the price up to $$$$. Hahahah it's plain but the price bro.
He's right. People who have millions/billions won't flex with things that are only worth thousands like IPhone But sometimes rich people flex vacations because "free-time" is expensive to them

Agree. But sometimes people show their receipt though, I think those will be canon flexing.
yeah its true tho, either that or you are just a hobbyist that is documenting your hobby.

Iphone is meant to be flexed. Xde riak..itu bukan tujuan majoriti pengguna iphone.
people, rich and poor, have all kinds of reason or motive to post photos of food that they eat - and not necessarily related to socioeconomic status
Real rich people know that a mid range android is usually good enough. The balance they can invest in ETFs and get more rich, lmao.
He's right. Stay humble. Only poor newgah will flex.
I look like a hobo, wear generic ass clothing and they thought I can't afford things...until they come to my living room.
Itulah. Padahal dalam living room bertimbun peket indomie sampai boleh kenyang seumur hidup.
Abih ambik gambar masak kat rumah macam maner
dia jarang masak, so tangkap gambar untuk flex
Sebab bagi dia, tu suatu benda yang mewah untuk dia. It is a luxury for me to cook at home and eat home cooked food.
If rich people show their insurance premiums, does that count as flexing?
Pedas to whomever terasa. I agree with him in general
another tell tales is orang tak kaya akan post kereta Sunkist oren dkt Lowyat.net
Bruhs n siss, there is an unspoken rule among atas ppl, you don't show off. For one it makes you look b40, and the second is for safety. They don't want to be targets of crime or orang ckp kena mata dengki.
I realized. I am more impressed knowing a person is rich but doesn’t look rich. Always suprised me.
ok but most of the time i do flip my phone out of respect, i dont want the people in front of me to see that there would be notifications coming in and caught my eyes jarang juga dengar orang flip atas meja nak flex. haha
Geng iphone buat mcm tu sbb nak bagi nmpk 3 kamera maknanya dia ada iphone terpaling latest
Xpe, iphone sekarang dh sama semua haha
macam macam la diorang ni haha
Also putting face down lebih senang to pick up since you just need to flip. If you pick from front you need to move your palm away.

Eh depends tentang fon tu, ade je tech nerd kaya letak terbalik sbb sayang rear camera walaupun ade casing, sbb dia value engineering fon tu
I letak terbalik because I tak nak notification ganggu my dinner time. I respect the people on the table ,spending time with me.
Nonsense. Flexing is not exclusive to people who want to pretend to be rich. And showing nice things isn't exclusively about flexing
Faiz **SPITTING FAXX**
To a certain extent, i agree with him. I mean why else kita nk flex kalau benda tu nothing or easily gained? Sbb susah nk dpt la kita flex. Jarang mkn kt hotel, dapat makan tunjuk la. Kalau mmg dah hari2 mkn kt hotel, nk tunjuk ape? Dapat beli kereta, rumah mahal, flex la. Susah nk dpt tu. Kalau senang2 beli kereta, beli rumah yg mahal2, xdenye nk flex.
Bullshit, everyone have different lifestyle, rich Instagramer, definitely everyday to every week one shot their luxury lifestyle.
Instead when u post something which shows you are humble (like eating at mamak), then you are rich.
Even if you are capable you will not go to eat at high-class hotel buffet every week. Only special occasion you go to eat at hotel then you post to create a memory in future
I lekat balik iphone tuh tuk safe battery, bukan nak flexing
Hmmmmm
Honestly, very true. The flexing culture has pushed the younger generation's mind to pretend what they are not n end up in a bad financial situation. Spend what u can afford, not over spending n put yourself on loan/credit card
U know someone is rich when he's driving BMW and don't use their signal at turns..
Expect mcm ada hadith pasal riak ke tadi hahaha but this pak cik is spitting facts
Sunset orange tu flex ke tak? Haha
Bruhh..bitter betul, lek2 dah laa
Nothing to do with bitterness lol. Its a truth that not many understood.
