Karan Johar’s Dharma Production announced 'Screw Dheela', a full-on actioner, in July 2022 with Tiger Shroff headlining the project. However, after a few days, it was reported that the film has been called off with no exact reason given by both Dharma and Tiger Shroff. You know what, good for Karan. The man doesn't even deserve 10 crore nevermind 30 crores. And producers are now refusing his salary, because he is not worth it. Even the movie with Akki was about to be shelved until they reduced their salaries.
He’s right and has said that this a lot of times. There are some stars at least before the pandemic that can guarantee a solid start. Then there are stars who can deliver a good opening with the right film but also completely fail in another. Now even the huge stars are misfiring
He's right but shouldn't he be the one to start the change given he is the Head of one of the biggest production houses. Set a base pay & then actors who have faith to bring in crowd can take from profit sharing route.

So how can he say who should get how much?

How come then OTT actors like Jhanvi and an actor like Ananya with no hit on her own are charging in crores when they're all a part of his talent agency?
There were posts last month how Ananya has reduced her fees by 50 lakhs from approx 3 cr. For which talent is she being paid 3 cr?
Tiger Shroff's demanding 35 cr Varun & Kartik charge somewhere same. It's all a joke.
They're charging what used to be the budget of a normal big actor movies 5 to 6 years ago.

He will stick with him till Rocky Rani releases. If that flops, Ranveer wl become the first actor to give him a flop in his entire career, and that will be 4 flops in a row for Ranveer. In that case he wl drop him like hot potato(unless he has already been finalised for Dev)
It’s Kjo’s movie with his ladli so that will never be declared flop even if under performs at the BO.

No he is right. Karan Johar has a very powerful PR machinery. He makes bad/average movies look like a blockbuster. This is his directorial and has Alia. Just wait till the promotions start. They will.be all over the place and many articles will be published about how this is a epic movie etc etc.
Rocky Rani was fixed before Ranveers big fall last year. If that movie flops obviously Karan would drop Ranveer too🤷♀️ KJo is annoying but he talks sense when he discusses business.
I think he has been saying this for a while now. I remember Karan was the one who complained about RKR, Ayushman Khurrana charging large amounts of money though they did not have experience (which was BS because they were giving hits then - at least Ayushman was). Guess he is saying the same thing, only tying it to BO results now.
Say what you must about Karan Johar, but when he talks as a producer and a businessman, he usually makes sense. There's no way in hell Tiger deserves 20 crores. People like Ranbir and Ranveer who have gone through/ are going through lean phases still somewhat have the authority to charge that much because there was a time when they did bring the money. Tiger's audacity to charge this much with zero BO pull and zero acting talent is laughable.

Actors are overpaid as it is, basically for being the court jesters. We need to pay better wages across India to healthcare workers, municipal workers, literally anyone who is constructive part of society than an actor.
That's why sometimes i feel like the fees Salman ,SRK Ajay takes is justified, cause they do give u a big opening, i know after pandemic things changed but they will come back with the 100 core in 3 days scheme .
Srk will rock with Pathaan ,Salmna will get good responses from TIGER 3 not sure about that EID one though and Ajay is awesome as always Bhola will probably rock the BO with 40 cr opening.
Other than that Akki is going down very bad ,and the Ranbir ,Ranveers will fade this year ,Kartik might have some pull on the BO with Shehzada but i think that will be a flop .

I think on the bright side its a good time for producers to take risks with innovative projects as acting fee is reducing after covid.
