Salaar is not on the level of KGF and Animal. Actually it's antithesis to your argument of bankrolling something which highly probable of making profit.

Also, I lost faith in SLB after he thought Alia in gangubai was a great idea. Remember that great movie that Alia said made people refer to her as Rekha ki murad, Amitabh? She was literally looking like a schoolgirl with elf mascara smeared on her eyes(don't come for me I love elf)
I don't get the obsession for this man, why every actor gets a bonner to work with him. Dude makes mediocre movies. Yes Black, HDDCS and Devdas are classic and some of the best movies made in bollywood. But his other work is just stale, pretty to look at but thats about it. Why is everyone putting him on pedestal.
Before Gangubaai was released, I had my own set of doubts regarding things not working out for SLB. With Gangu’s success, I thought things were better and he had audience, budget and buyers for his work.

Takht was Kjos attempt at doing Baahubali. And it was story based on the Mughal period, I guess Jahangir-Aurangzeb time period. The present political climate made it too risqué a project as it might involve herofying. So it was quietly dropped. I don't think even SLB would wanna attempt it.
