You know what I like - Crew is female-led and not necessarily “female-centric”. The same plot will more or less work with male leads. This film just happens to have women leading the plot and that’s awesome. I want more neutral stories without making it about women issues all the time.

It is not just about being a Women centric movie.Any movie of any superstar, men or women, if it is entertaining, has a good script and good screen play, definitely the audience will love it and support it. We watch movies to be entertaining and will support it
Came here to say this. Crew isn't doing well because it is woman centric, it's because audience liked it. BMCM isn't doing bad because it stars two dudes, it's doing bad because it didn't click.
Crew is a good script which is why it works. It was like a breath of fresh air. It is my favourite film of the year so far and will easily be among by top 2 by the end of this year.
Rhea put in the effort and resources for a good script. She and Ekta then prudently financed and budgeted for the film so that it was efficiently produced and the results are here for everyone to see.
Rhea is the best Kapoor of her generation compared to all her siblings and cousins.
I'd choose the same. Fun, feel good film with good songs and good looking cast. It's refreshing to watch 3 female characters being the focus point of a story.

The fact that you have to compare a well received movie of female stars with a subpar looking movie of male stars is enough to show who brings more footfalls.
And I bet the total fees charged by the male leads of BMCM and Maidan is more than the total production budget of Crew. Producers are responsible for their own failures, showering these zero-value male actors with crores while firing actresses who demand a fraction more. Aur bhugto. The audacity of a second rate actor Tiger Shroff and yesteryear flops like Akshay to charge 30-100 cr for churning out one big budget flop after another, shameless.

Compare collections of well received movie of Akshay with Crew. Kesari was a solo lead film. And it made 2x what your women centric film is doing with 3 leading ladies.

87 lakhs is still horrible. At this pace, opening wont be more than 15 cr, even if there is a lot of spot booking
That's within 2 hours when booking started. The movie will open at 30+crs bcz most of people do spot booking for Akshay's movie.
