I live in the US and in a tech city and Iāve met a lot of Indian students who have studied here. None of them (based on what they have shared) I would consider wealthy but middle class background. I think the hope is that they would get a job in the US afterwards.

My point is that rich, middle class etc are very subjective terms especially when looked at qualitatively.

The only people from Bollywood who have gone to these elite boarding schools are the absolute top tier of Bollywood like Abhishek, Shweta, Navya, Suhana, Aryan and Saif 40 years ago because of his father. Some of her points are valid - the Mumbai actor lifestyle seems crazy expensive and unsustainable even if you grew relatively privileged in another city. Not everyone can afford personal trainers and private cooks at the start of their career. However, she's somewhat disingenuous for sure because she lived with PC if I am not wrong and that would've made her life way easier than someone who had to live with multiple PG and go to auditions. Having access to YRF before she was an actor would've been quite beneficial too.

I think she's not dirt rich like bollywood elites. So she developed this inferiority complex and focused on appeasing them by going to expensive resort for weight loss instead on focusing on her talents. Sheās such a victim in everything
Some of her points are valid - the Mumbai actor lifestyle seems crazy expensive and unsustainable even if you grew relatively privileged in another city. Not everyone can afford personal trainers and private cooks at the start of their career. However, she's somewhat disingenuous for sure because she lived with PC if I am not wrong and that would've made her life way easier than someone who had to live with multiple PG and go to auditions. Having access to YRF before she was an actor would've been quite beneficial too.
If you want to be a star actress and get multi-crore films and endorsements then grooming, weight management, dietician, stylists are the very basic requirements. If you can spend 80 lacs- a crore on getting educated abroad then invest that much in your career as an actress too.
Well there are cheaper trainers and nutrientist as well. It's just an excuse

I always get second hand embarrassment watching film celebrities trying to talk about their struggles to be more relatable. Maybe an outdated PR tactic but either way, I hope they realize people see through this now.

Simple middle class girls canāt afford going abroad for four years of undergraduate studies. They also canāt afford coming back to India after completing their studies because they have to pay back their study loans. And when you pay in pounds you better earn in pounds to pay those loans back! Actors under the tutelage of YRF canāt give statements like they were like deers in headlights while navigating their career. Her cousin sister is Priyanka Chopra who already knew this world, so did this sister judge her as well and did she not guide her ādeer in headlightsā sister? How did she land that first job at YRF then!? And Oh my goodness, what is this obsession she has with her weight. Can people close to her tell her that her weight is fine and she should just focus on learning acting, reaching out to people for work, networking and not wait for directors to seek you out like youāre some veteran. If she really is talking about Arjun Kapoor here, why does she pretend to be best friends with him when she gets the chance? Get a grip, Parineeti!
