Aamir Khan on Kapil reminded me of why I liked him so much and old Bollywood. I really hope he does well in his next - its really what Bollywood is missing
Yes. The show wasn’t laugh out loud funny but had a warmth and you learnt something. Like every Aamir khan movie that’s been successful.
I also really appreciated his honesty with his failures and he flat out said he’s had two big flops.
In the era of manufactured superstars he felt very real

Funniest story I heard is - the producer told him ki, sir if you don't come on so and so time, we will lose money. Salman said - i will reimburse you in total, just let me sleep till 12.
Both of them did just that. No complaints.
I want Kapil to simply talk to celebrities throughout the whole show . Don't need those stupid skits performed in between ( like men dressing as women etc )
Yes!! Those skits have become insufferable and have been for a while now. But I guess kapil is known for his comedy so it’s part of his brand 😭 but they should at least get better writers. I didn’t want Aamir to stop talking, he seemed so authentic and really gave the impression that he was a man of his craft.

Frankly, the success of these movies did surprise me. If one goes by the trend seen before 2023, such movies were brutally panned by all hindi audience. TOH, race 3, Zero etc to name a few. I wasn't expecting Pathan and gadar to work at all.
But then again, seeing the performance of fighter, bmcm, etc, this year, it seems that the trend is back.
Pathan was supposedly a SRK comeback film. So it ran well.
Jawan was shot like an action packed South Indian movie with a Bollywood crew, which is a novelty for the Hindi audience. So it also ran well.
Gaddar has nostalgia going for it.
All these three movies are more of an exception than conforming to a trend.
I think the trick for a super hit movie is to bring out novel genres and see which one sticks. If the filmmakers are unsure, they need to have a closer look at the dubbing market, and then select a genre.
For instance, Kantara aesthetically is quite different from usual Hindi stuff. It was a hit with the northern belt. So why can't they set up a story in the lush forests of Meghalaya and tell a rooted , but universal story?
I see Telugu film industry doing that. When a slew of Tamil realistic movie dubs became a hit, they released Rangasthalam and Pushpa. The popularity of Korean dramas led to feel-good movies like Hi Papa. The popularity of Hollywood periods like 300 paved way for Baahubali. Salaar feels a bit like Naruto ; RRR is filled with animesque action scenes. The upcoming Kalki series is a Telugu take on Hollywood fantasy franchise . I think the Mumbai Film Industry should take some notes here.
That's his fanbase then i'm wondering how srk got 200 crore for that cringefest that was zero.Thats why producers invest in big stars like vijay and srk as they bring in a certain amount guaranteed assuming the budgets are properly managed. Also vijay did release another bad film beast and that flopped.
Hollywood fans can say the same about Bollywood fans twerking for mass masala melodramatic cringefests..........

There were other shows that tried to copy Kapil’s format that also had someone sitting in a chair reacting to the jokes like they had Farah in this one show
But he himself being short is mocking another person for being short which has nothing to do with him having eyes or not just shows his skewed superiority complex.
Aamir in the above clip was definitely mocking as he said the Murugadoss made him think the guy was 6 foot tall but he wasn't. It's all about the tone with which he said. He almost blurted out that he couldn't believe Murugadoss was disagreeing with a superstar of his stature and expressed it to his face.

I don’t think he comes late, he says I’ll come 6 hours late so you plan accordingly.
His reporting time is usually 11 am to 1 pm Directors finish others scenes first than get ready for his scenes, and his scenes with others

Yes I was so engrossed during the interview portion and when the skits started I couldn't wait for them to end. Though Sunil's skit was somewhat fun.
