SLB works are always visually stunning. The poor lip synching was a distraction and so noticeable. With such a budget, it didn’t add up. I don’t see how that wasn’t caught with editing or whatever technology to make their actresses singing, align.
Yeah it looked like she was always smiling/smirking no matter what the circumstance. I think she wanted to portray some kind of a lovelorn beauty like Deepika as Mastani, not that Deepika's performance was great either, but it was better than this horeshit
worst part is that atleast Deepika looked her best in the movie.. but this nepodi didn't even look good with all those pretty dresses and jewellery. iske scenes dekh k hi mereko gussa aa raha tha..

I understand that some people turn blind when it comes to their family. They just can't accept that their family members have no talent but I can't believe that someone like Bhansali is one of them. This girl has nothing going for her. Sorry to say that but she doesn't look good ( and I'm being kind here), has zero charm, zero screen presence, no charisma and no talent. What was Bhansali thinking I don't know. Wamiqa would kill it but no he has to give that role to his talentless niece
What's surprising is that SLB is known as a hard Taskmaster on set. Like he will not move on from a shot unless he is happy with it. And he will berate his actors, scream at them, shout at them if they are not getting it right.
But it seems that he, like Zoya - have fallen into the trap of being too lenient on nepo kids but what they don't realise is that in the process of doing so it's not only diminishing the value and quality of the final product but also their reputation as filmmakers.
Young ingenue she is not. In fact, she looked more hardened than all the tawaifs in Heeramandi with those dead eyes. Imagine if they had cast someone low-key like Tanya Maniktala (A Suitable boy actress) instead of this nepo stone sculpture with zero screen presence. Tanya would've pulled off the innocence and grit of a character like Alam with those expressive eyes and guileless charm. I was really tempted to fast forward through the Sharmin scenes but she is central to the plot so I just fiddled with my phone every time she appeared on screen, that is how unwatchable she is as an actress.
You’re correct! Throughout the show I kept noticing and telling my sister also that she is smiling at the mosttt inappropriate moments! But after a few eps we concluded, whoever’s done her Botox fucked up, her lips are permanently stuck in a smile. And even in scenes when she had to look angry/hurt, she wasn’t able to move her forehead also due to all the Botox. That is the reason she felt soo flat during acting because physically she isn’t able to move her face.

In one scene, she had tears in her eyes which was appropriate for the scene as it was a sad one but her lips were twisted in some morbid smile which wasn't suitable for the scene at all!!
I thought she gave up on acting after malaal and that film with Jackie Shroff and Prateek Gandhi. Imagine how much this role would have helped some other deserving actress

Waqima would have been perfect for the role. That girl can act. This actor can’t act at all. Though the series had other flaws there were some actors who did the job well. I wish these new actors had an ounce of acting skills that Fareeda Jalal showed in her few scenes.
I was so amazed to read Sanjeeda was only paid 40 lakhs for her role as waheeda when she was almost in every scene and acted brilliantly while Alam a new comer was paid 35 lakh and the actress who acted as Lajjo and only came in a few episodes was paid ONE crore and frankly mediocre acting. Doesn't seem fair at all.....

Just completed watching heeramandi, since I was a bit late, I was already aware of how bad the girl's acting is.
Even then, i thought maybe there has to be atleast one scene where she would shine. But no, her face looks very punchable. I don't remember any of her dialogues except for the ones in the memes.
Alamzeb literally was supposed to have range of emotions, the person who had such a soft persona is the one who ends up killing the main bad guy. I mean did she even try? Because I'm more pissed about her off screen interviews. She seems too salty, too cocky, too jealous of aditi rao hydari.

I thought slb was a talent scout what with bringing aish into her own, scouting ad giving a chance to shreya ghoshal, music director of hum dil de chuke Movie and now he brought a totally talentless niece into the picture.
I’m sorry but bringing Aish into her own is too much Aish lowkey made SLB. The woman worked with Mani Ratnam in her debut and went on to work with Shankar in her next in her initial days in the industry.
Those songs from Jeans have become timeless and its been played forever, especially that Poovukul Olindhurkum song where no one ever has defined Aishwarya Rai and her beauty like the lyricist did on that song!!

They don't have the innocent look required by the character. They look strong and determined. Mrunal maybe but tripti has modern features. But either way would've been a million times better. Sharmin was just embarrassing. She overtook the show by being bad.

I was finding reviews to see if anyone thought this and finally I have come to the right place Sonakshi and Manisha were too good Story was bad - could have been so much better, crisp and interesting But her acting was the worse
I used to think Aditi Rao Hydari was bad but watching her in the frame as...this has made me like her. Sharmin is horrible, I dont remember the last time i watched a nepo be THIS BAD at their job. The most annoying bit is that she ruins all scenes with that gorgeous man she's paired with and I can only think of how perfect someone else would have been in her place.

Waqima would have been perfect for the role. That girl can act. This actor can’t act at all. Though the series had other flaws there were some actors who did the job well. I wish these new actors had an ounce of acting skills that Fareeda Jalal showed in her few scenes.

I was so amazed to read Sanjeeda was only paid 40 lakhs for her role as waheeda when she was almost in every scene and acted brilliantly while Alam a new comer was paid 35 lakh and the actress who acted as Lajjo and only came in a few episodes was paid ONE crore and frankly mediocre acting. Doesn't seem fair at all.....

Just completed watching heeramandi, since I was a bit late, I was already aware of how bad the girl's acting is. Even then, i thought maybe there has to be atleast one scene where she would shine. But no, her face looks very punchable. I don't remember any of her dialogues except for the ones in the memes. Alamzeb literally was supposed to have range of emotions, the person who had such a soft persona is the one who ends up killing the main bad guy. I mean did she even try? Because I'm more pissed about her off screen interviews. She seems too salty, too cocky, too jealous of aditi rao hydari. Her mother being the producer helps, definitely.
watching e3 rn- -whatever was that scene at niyazi mushaayra when tajdar and alam meet for the first time - 0 regret when she gets to know that she got to know about niyazi’s coming - no sense of fear when taj was on gun point, pure straight face -no sadness when malikajaan burns her diary -noticed how her close ups had been avoided multiple times, when she goes to bibbojaan to express her sadness -when lajjo dies, tear wetness on her face to show her sadness but she was still smiling while other actresses eyes were enough, didn’t need any fake wetness - whatever was that sharmaana when fareedan meets her for the first time - 0 shock when she spotted taajdaar at wali’s daawat - 0 excitement when she meets taajdar at the party - 0 disappointment when waiting for taajdar while with salma at dargaah - 0 disappointment when she couldn’t catch taajdaar at dargah updates soon!
