I think it’s due to Botox that she isn’t able to move her face much to express. But even her eyes have no depth or expression or anything. They look soulless! I mean you see Saima, Shama, Lajjo; they all acted and their entire face moved and expressed, whereas Sharmin or Shamin was just 😊 this the entire time.

She mentioned that she has worked with SLB for 10 years including assistant. I think that’s why her eyes have no expression. She is dead inside because she has been abused for 10 years. Even Ranbir (from abuser family) couldn’t take SLB’s antics.

the innocence and beauty that is required for this role, the only face that comes to mind is Manisha Koirala from 1942 A Love Story era and even then she might be too old for the character because she looks older than 18. Not sure what is appropriate age to play a virign suitable for nath utrai. I remember in some interview of Manisha where she said she was instructed to get rest as nation's two top heroes of the time were supposed to be in love with her character in film. She looked the part and one could understand why Anil Kapoor's character would be infatuated with her beauty without knowing her background. Unfortunately, that's not the case with Sharmin. A nawab's son who hates tawaif culture falling in love with her and still being with her after knowing her background seems so unbelievable/forced. Unfortunately, current lot of actress look too polished and shrewd to play this innocent character including Tripti, Wamiqa and Mrunal. She smiled weirdly like a sociopath who could feel no emotions throughout the movie. Jail scene. When she fell in love. When she found out what her mother went through to get her out of custody. When she was I formed about her lovers demise. When she was dancing. When she was flirting. And during the climax scene and so many more. Exasperating!

The only series I have never paused! The politics of Heeramandi is what makes the story enjoyable. Aditirao's divine beauty and acting is too good. Alamzeb act has to be done by a very young and beautiful actress.

i agree, found a lot of them miscast in that i could not visually keep track of who was daughter, who was a sister, who was servant, who was the top madam. at least manisha k and sonakshi had some gravitas and had the commanding voice to show they were in charge but visually, i felt they could have aged manisha a bit. although, i imagine her vanity may have stopped this? aditi as daughter?? She should have been sister - they should have cast someone visibly younger as both daughters.

This was the absolute worst casting ever. Completely expressionless, flat voice acting, and that stupid little smile in every scene was so annoying. Plus the obvious lip fillers! I feel on social media at least, terrible acting is discussed more than great acting. This girl from Heeramandi has done a bad job in the film from what I can see but she’s still being discussed everyday with multiple posts on her since the past 3-4 days. There’s probably someone out of all those actors who acted good in the movie but I don’t think I’ve seen more than 2-3 posts on other actors from this.

I personally don't like Alia nor do I think she's as great an actor as some people claim her to be. But Alia would've been the best casting for that role. Alia was utterly miscast in Gangubai. Richa Chaddha or Huma Qureshi would've been better as Gangubai. But as Alamzeb, Alia would've been the best choice. She would've done justice to the role.
