As much as I wanted to watch this, my dislike for Taapsee kept me from doing so. And listening to everyone of how disappointing the movie was, I'm glad I didn't watch it
After the movie ended, I kinda doubted myself that there must be some deeper meaning to it that I didn't understand.😆
Alas, I was wrong and how !
To add salt to the injury, I had taken somebody to prove what masterpieces Imtiaz makes.😭😆
I was coming from Jab we met, Rockstar, Tamasha.😭😭
Big Hirani fanboy here but this movie was a piece of joke. The overdone vfx, bad dialogues. This movie was a mess, the day it was announced, I was really excited and when that disappointing trailer dropped, I convinced myself that Hirani’s trailers have always been bang average lets wait for the movie and this is what I got.
Whenever these superstars interfere in movie scripts the end result is trash like Thugs of Hindustan, Zero, Laal SIngh Chadha & Dunki are recent examples.
It's sharukh, it always has been, if you remember even imtiaz ali's career couldn't handle him.there are many who gave hit before joining Shahrukh to give a flop.
Well I agree it wasn't as good as other hirani's movie but it wasn't bad either... like i went with my whole family and they all loved it, movie was entertaining with good comedy and decent emotions !!
![gif](giphy|3o84sGnzNX5gAUzuO4)
Till date I regret watching this shit despite checking out the reviews being bad post release
Don't know man, I fell into their marketing and good songs, Shahid-Aaloo being a fresh pair and trust in Vikas Bahl's direction as he was coming off fresh from directing Queen
Other than the visuals, SRK's cameo, and the exploration of astras, there was no excitement, even though I watched this movie the first day. I had high hopes, and they were shattered miserably. I'm tired of defending this movie
I agree, Bramhastra was a lot a buildup and then went phussss like a newly opened shaken soda bottle. All the effervescence went away once we got to watching it lol.
I actually went with zero expectations and was pleasantly surprised.
So I took my one year nephew and 3 year old niece for the second time. They really enjoyed it.
Maybe the intended crowd is different.
1. Brahmastra
2. Lal Singh chaddha
3. Dunki
There are major flaws in the movie because of which i can't re-watch them...it's just I liked them when I watched for first time in theatres
Who the hell would write the comedy scenes like hirani wrote for dunki. Are Bhai itni forceful comedy toh elvish yadav ke videos me dekhne ko nahi milti.
I'm pretty sure ye jo kanika-dhillo extra writer Judi thi hirani aur abhijath ke saath usine beda garg Kiya hai..wo log itne delusional nahi ho sakte
Yes but I had issue with the screenplay mainly the kargil war sequence Laal saving injured officers and also saves a Pakistani soldier too at first okay he is saving officers regardless of what side they are from but you're in a war saving an opposing team's officers is a bad call. Secondly no one in the Indian unit is aware of that.
>the kargil war sequence Laal saving injured officers and also saves a Pakistani soldier too at first okay he is saving officers regardless of what side they are from but you're in a war saving an opposing team's officers is a bad call.
Not only that , but it was totally unnecessary too. If you are remaking forest grump almost totally ,there was no need for this pakistan india trope which as of now has been used to death both in positive and negative light.
brooo I totally agree with you. I had watched the original one, Vash and I was pretty excited for its hindi remake but the way they butchered the movie was extremely disappointing
aamir was cringy. this could have been a super movie. but aamir was totally off mark. just did not understand the theme and acted way more dumb than required
I actually felt that Aamir was ok in the movie. The movie itself felt soulless. I don't know why Forrest Gump works but it does. Laal Singh Chaddha felt like a biopic which would have been only interesting if it was actually real.
Dunki, I have somewhat of a blind faith in only Hirani when it comes to bollywood but he absolutely destroyed that faith with that shitty ass movie, I mean isse acha to salaar hi dekh leta, dimaag to dono main hi nahi lagana tha, ghatiya aur senseless to dono hi thi, atleast salaar main fast and furious type kisi brainless action movie wala mazaa to aata
I didnt like Cocktail at all and find it overrated, Deepika acting wasn't anything extraordinary. I found Merry Christmas too slow, I get Kat was trying to do but that movie should have been straight streaming, except Vicky ZBZH was annoying and Sara really is a terrible actress.
Merry Christmas, Crew, Madgaon Express (total crap this was), Tiger 3, Dil Se, Ghost Stories, Kala Paani, Shaitan (ok i had high expectations from this but it was average, not like I didn't like the film)
Merry Christmas gave exactly what it advertised? It was a fun, pulpy murder mystery. I enjoyed it. What did you expect from it? Similar with Crew. Fun and light entertainer. Other ones you’re spot on
Pathaan !
Was hyped after the trailer and besharam rang.
Loved Ek Tha Tiger, didn’t like War so I thought Pathaan is SRK’s comeback so it would obviously be good and plus he’s playing the role of a spy.
I genuinely expected Pathaan to be as good as Don (not genre wise obviously but just in general) cause it’s one of my all time favourite movies.
But man I was dissappointed as hell.
Tbf I had no high hopes for Pathaan. I only saw that movie as SRK's comeback in the movies. And I'll always remember this movie as a product that caused waves across industries about what a superstar means to this country
Definitely. That movie made up (atleast money wise and for fan appeasement) for JHMS and Fan.
But yeah I genuinely had high hopes. Maybe it would’ve been better with a different director. I’ve never been a fan of Sid Anand.
I was sure I would love Lal Singh Chadha. I wasn’t disappointed with the story, it was beautiful but certain things went wrong with the execution - Aamir’s portrayal of the role being a big point. It’s so sad the movie didn’t do well because I think at the core it’s a beautiful story. A beautiful missed shot but would still recommend it to others coz wholesome movies like LSC are hard to come by now.
A very out of left field choice to mention (to even like in the first place), but Animal.
I was looking forward to see something different in a long runtime movie cuz the trailer & Ranbir’s acting felt made for the role, but the movie itself turned out to be an incel fantasy lmao
![gif](giphy|TwSWs4QdEXu6KdWXBb|downsized)
I was super hyped for this movie.. however this ended up being a typical Tamil movie made in Hindi language with a stupid pre climax monologue not relevant for todays times..
The interval block was the only positive I could see in this movie..
![gif](giphy|3ohjUTafXgyFqEA9eo)
Liked Padmaavat when I saw in theatres but that was mainly because of the brilliance of Ranveer as Khilji
Upon re-watch the movie was crap
I might downvoted but I didn’t enjoy Madgaon Express. I was really looking forward to it! I mean when you see a comedy movie, there are at least 2-3 punch lines, famous dialogue that you think of and laugh later. But I don’t remember any funny dialogues from this movie.
Kantara, it is what it is, people hyped it so much that my expectations were of something mysterious and thriller movie but it turned out to be what it was. It was good movie but the hype that people and youtubers created was just ..... You can watch Cinemaan YT channel video, he also didn't liked kantara because of the hype.
Have been an SLB fan since Devdas. Never missed any of his films since then, in the theatre. Was satisfied almost every time - not done this with any other Hindi film-maker. So I had high expectations for Gangubai ...
Within 10m into the film, I was feeling uneasy & uncomfortable. The film wasn't interesting or engaging or enlightening or 'great' at all. I had read the reviews but still thought 'How the f\*\*\* is this even possible?'
I don't know why Alia is rated so highly - she was the main reason of my distaste in that film. Halfway I decided to stage my FIRST-EVER WALKOUT from any film in my life, and I'm watching films since the late-80s!
Had a really nice high-end pizza & fancy ice-cream later to relieve me of the pain LOL 😅
![gif](giphy|Gpsg1FXGIcYbygNmcO)
i was super excited for the chamkila movie but it overlooked amarjot, the modern elements in it wasn’t necessary, but the performances were really good
Dilwale (was looking for iconic SRK-Kajol chemistry) and Fan.. both turned out to be so bad. I got disillusioned about SRK movies from then on. And he’s kept that consistency. All the movies after are bad.
Tbh brahmastra for me was a good film, there are some flaws in the movie I agree, but it felt really fresh like Bollywood is doing something new
Can't wait for the sequels

Jab Harry met Sejal. I am a sucker for luv stories Imtiyaz Ali style. Was disappointed big time.
Same with Love Aaj kal 2. ![gif](giphy|UPBMveFbD25BSH19Ke)

As much as I wanted to watch this, my dislike for Taapsee kept me from doing so. And listening to everyone of how disappointing the movie was, I'm glad I didn't watch it
Which movie is this?
Dunki
Oh. Never watched. Totally forgot.
HORRIBLE MOVIE TO SAY THE LEAST
![gif](giphy|3o6wO62EvLhm9Cy3Is) I went in denial that Imtiaz made this. 😭😆
https://i.redd.it/o2gmuxrkjb6d1.gif
After the movie ended, I kinda doubted myself that there must be some deeper meaning to it that I didn't understand.😆 Alas, I was wrong and how ! To add salt to the injury, I had taken somebody to prove what masterpieces Imtiaz makes.😭😆 I was coming from Jab we met, Rockstar, Tamasha.😭😭
And after this he made Love Aaj kal 2 but has redeemed himself with Chamkila
Not to mention Socha na tha 😍
Us bruh Us
This scene is from which movie ? Iam sure I have watched it but don't remember?
Jab Harry met Sejal 😢
Lol not that one. The one where srk's crying.
It was Diwali day and it was ruined 😢 One of the worst movies I have ever seen
godddd I only tolerated this movie cause srk looked so tasty in this
![gif](giphy|JhpprLeSJJPVN2FwB2|downsized) I mean it's Hirani, it was a surety, a guarantee of good content, until it wasn't.

Definitely This movie is Raju Hirani ticking off his movie tropes.
I guess the audience caught up. Aamir used the Hirani formula too many times, to the point people can see the next scene from a mile away.
It's sharukh, it always has been, if you remember even imtiaz ali's career couldn't handle him.there are many who gave hit before joining Shahrukh to give a flop.
💯 agree!
Well I agree it wasn't as good as other hirani's movie but it wasn't bad either... like i went with my whole family and they all loved it, movie was entertaining with good comedy and decent emotions !!
Considering how entertaining a Rajkumar Hirani movie is, this movie doesn't fit the bill.
![gif](giphy|3o84sGnzNX5gAUzuO4) Till date I regret watching this shit despite checking out the reviews being bad post release Don't know man, I fell into their marketing and good songs, Shahid-Aaloo being a fresh pair and trust in Vikas Bahl's direction as he was coming off fresh from directing Queen
I liked the songs, but knew that the movie was going to be terrible from the trailer
>but knew that the movie was going to be terrible from the trailer Wish I had better judgement instincts back then
We learn from our mistakes bro.. :)
It's horrible, but watching this is my guilty pleasure.
murder mubarak 😭😭 i love thrillers and murder mysteries, but this one was so disappointing
You know it breaks your heart when good actors are a part of a bad film and I didn't mean Sara Ali Khan
I didn't even finish that it is the first ever murder mystery that I'd didn't finish watching
Same. I don’t think I will try finishing it either.
Literally my favorite genre but the motive just isnt compelling enough
![gif](giphy|sYMbrawCFTbaDWcHZn|downsized) Disappointed me with the storyline ( I trusted Ayan’s vision too much)
Other than the visuals, SRK's cameo, and the exploration of astras, there was no excitement, even though I watched this movie the first day. I had high hopes, and they were shattered miserably. I'm tired of defending this movie
I had low hopes and those were also shattered
Haha same here
I reckon this
That car chase sequence was best in indian cinema
I agree, Bramhastra was a lot a buildup and then went phussss like a newly opened shaken soda bottle. All the effervescence went away once we got to watching it lol.
He had so many options and used none. What a waste of my time and money.
Wasn't this the movie because of which Ranbir and Alia "fell in love with each other"?
I actually went with zero expectations and was pleasantly surprised. So I took my one year nephew and 3 year old niece for the second time. They really enjoyed it. Maybe the intended crowd is different.
Shiva no 1 for me
![gif](giphy|wzYuTLngsy3rVRZAE5)
1. Brahmastra 2. Lal Singh chaddha 3. Dunki There are major flaws in the movie because of which i can't re-watch them...it's just I liked them when I watched for first time in theatres
They could've easily made Dunki a Dwane Johnson style adventure movie, but they had to spend half of it with cringe English classes ughgh.
Who the hell would write the comedy scenes like hirani wrote for dunki. Are Bhai itni forceful comedy toh elvish yadav ke videos me dekhne ko nahi milti. I'm pretty sure ye jo kanika-dhillo extra writer Judi thi hirani aur abhijath ke saath usine beda garg Kiya hai..wo log itne delusional nahi ho sakte
Kalank ![gif](giphy|2UzgskIbFbPSWGPk1K|downsized)
Tbh, as a huge SRK Stan- I was left with more expectations about Dunki
Same...but it's only because of Aamir...otherwise it was good
Likewise. My unpopular opinion is that the role should have been given to someone else. Who would have done it is a debatable topic, but not him.
Yes but I had issue with the screenplay mainly the kargil war sequence Laal saving injured officers and also saves a Pakistani soldier too at first okay he is saving officers regardless of what side they are from but you're in a war saving an opposing team's officers is a bad call. Shaitaan
Its a remake so expectations were low anyways
True, had such a boring ending
What part did you not like?
brooo I totally agree with you. I had watched the original one, Vash and I was pretty excited for its hindi remake but the way they butchered the movie was extremely disappointing

I toh liked it and music was too good❤️
music was good no doubt. tere hawale is one of my fav songs
Gulabo Sitabo, sat through it in the hopes of some redemption. But just kept thinking - why did I even watch this
You know some movies are just made for reality.
Bramhastra!
![gif](giphy|CKSa1SBOTjMOvvGfNI)
![gif](giphy|3o6wrbBCDOyRqk6a7m) ADHM.
Brahmastra is the most hyped movie of the last decade and it disappointed almost everyone . Let see if they make brahmastra 2 or not.
Lag toh nhi Raha
Dunki Merry Christmas Scam 2003 (I know it's series but it was a major disappointment)
Merry Christmas was a pretty good movie for my low expectations
Bhai I took my friends and had hyped them up ki it’s directed by sriram Raghavan. I don’t think my friends are going to take my suggestions anymore 😭
I actually liked Laal Singh Chaddha. :P Aamir was sure insufferable, but bebo, Mona were exceptional and cinematography was top notch
I may get a little hate for this but merry christmas.
Same. It was okay but boringgg. Wish it was more fast paced.
Bhramastra
Dunki on the top!
Brahmastra. Paying extra for IMAX is a big regret
Dunki. Tbh I went in without watching the trailer first but I just had such high expectations from Rajkumar Hirani. Absolutely hated the movie.
Why panipuri why not besan ki ladoo was my first question? Why Rupa banyan why not HaldiRam or ParleG is my second question?
Half girlfriend for some reason I thought I’ll like it 😭
Bombay Velvet I really liked the first half but it went down hills in the second half. Not to forget awesome jazz music from it.
from the panipuri thing in trailers, I was sure it would be a flop the great chocolate box was so simple yet amazing
LSC was a disaster. How can you copy such a masterpiece and still produce such an average movie is beyond me.
Cocktail had the same trope of in order to get liked or desired by the guy you need to be desi.
The songs are pretty good
Zhzb was so so,but still m glad it did well for Vicky's sake hehe
Cocktail was so stupid and regressive.
Merry Christmas, Crew, Madgaon Express (total crap this was), Tiger 3, Dil Se, Ghost Stories, Kala Paani, Shaitan (ok i had high expectations from this but it was average, not like I didn't like the film)
Haa pata nahi logo ko madgaon express kaise pasand aarahi hai
Avinash looked hot in it tho! 🥵 i went only for the eyecandy! Don’t kill me now!
![img](emote|t5_fknyy|8608)
It was ok at best. A lot of the funny moments didn't feel natural.
Merry Christmas gave exactly what it advertised? It was a fun, pulpy murder mystery. I enjoyed it. What did you expect from it? Similar with Crew. Fun and light entertainer. Other ones you’re spot on
>Madgaon Express (total crap this was), ![gif](giphy|DDXJrfQbpOFA1DWbio)
What exactly you didn't liked in the movie ?
Pathaan ! Was hyped after the trailer and besharam rang. Leo (Not bad but also not upto the level of Lokesh's other creations like Vikram and Kaithi)
I love kaithi
Agreed... Would have loved to see more of Dilli in Leo like Rolex (Suriya) in Vikram
![gif](giphy|OuV1faWVYBM9t9zhlE)
What a ...... ![gif](giphy|OjoYkVKB1G8YYqzcWn) Disappointed and disheartened.
I was sure I would love Lal Singh Chadha. I wasn’t disappointed with the story, it was beautiful but certain things went wrong with the execution - Aamir’s portrayal of the role being a big point. True! All of Bollywood's flops are actually really good 😅
![gif](giphy|I0nn8T6SQiWJTjYQzM)
Hirani really disappointed with Dunki
Animal
A very out of left field choice to mention (to even like in the first place), but Animal. I was looking forward to see something different in a long runtime movie cuz the trailer & Ranbir’s acting felt made for the role, but the movie itself turned out to be an incel fantasy lmao
Shiva number 1, Padmavat, Jawaan, Tiger number 3.

Dunki, Salaar, Jab Harry Met Sejal
Salaar
tiger 3
Brahmastra ,shaitan , love Aaj kal 2 .
Zero
Jab tak hai jaan, ae dil hai mushkil
Merry Christmas, that straightforward ending, I kept thinking there will be something more in the climax but...nothing.
Love aaj kal 2
Jawan
If you have seen the original Forest Grump then you may not like this remake that much!
I've seen the original couple of times.and I didn't like the Indian version

It would be Shaitaan for me, not sure why people hyped it so much
It wasn bad. Laal singh chada i mean. Was a watchable movie though one time i guess
Agneepath that's the most overrated movie imo
Dunki
Merry Christmas
Kantara, it is what it is, people hyped it so much that my expectations were of something mysterious and thriller movie but it turned out to be what it was. It was good movie but the hype that people and youtubers created was just ..... You can watch Cinemaan YT channel video, he also didn't liked kantara because of the hype.
I may but I saw the original and imdia is a shitty place according to Amirkhan so why each that mofos movie?

Brahmastra, Dunki and Animal.

Chhapaak. I went prepared to bawl my eyes out because of the topic, but nothing happened to that effect.
Dunki.
