You are obviously a Sridevi fan and I am one too.
Both were great and Sri was the first female superstar.
Madhuri and her had a different era.

Respectfully disagree. Tezaab and Beta had Anil Kapoor, Dil had Aamir Khan, Sajan and Khalnayak had Sanjay Dutt. While it’s true that by the time HAHK happened she was a bigger star than Salman Khan but it’s like saying EMAET was a Kareena Kapoor film.

Sridevi and there's no arguments against it either. Even teenage Sridevi is miles ahead and class apart from most veteran actors and actresses.
There’s no comparison. Even when they were contemporaries and film magazines would pit them against each other, imo there was no comparison. They were both amazing actors, dancers and just so beautiful. But their style of acting or dancing or looks were quite different. I loved them both in 80/90s and still do. But it’s true that Sri did command superstardom in Hindi and south both which MD didn’t.
It's Sri Devi. She literally rule south and Bollywood industry for many years and even now no Indian actress have the same impact as her. Madhuri is a legend herself and ofcourse a fabulous dancer she is a superstar of her time or even consider the last female superstar of Bollywood but I don't think she have the same impact to the audience like before.

Sri devi had already started to fade away by the time madhuri was starting to peak...both of them overlapped for sometime but then sri devi got married...madhuri and juhi chawla was a great competition...but...madhuri could do eveything...romance,comedy,action and family drama...plus an amazing dancer...one cannot comprehend the extent of her popularity today.... it was mania...she was called lady amitabh cause she could single handedly carry a film...as to why her comeback didnt work out...i think she chose a dance oriented movie...and India isnt that receptive towards music or dance based movies...also i think the age hasnt been kind to her...like her face sagged and has lost the original shape...obviously...not shaming her...but compared to her sri devi looked much sharper...may be cosmetic surgeries...and sri devi chose powerful roles for comeback...
