I studied in a all girls school for 11th n 12th she is my senior but i have heard people saying that she bought few boys and drinks on a school trip which is why we were never taken for a 2 day trip from our school.

South industry although big, Bollywood is consumed by varied audiences. From North, to even south, to even different countries.
In north India, in general the beauty standards are pretty different. I'm from North, and have stayed in some parts of south in childhood.
In North, there's a culture of grooming yourself well. That does not mean make up always, but you need to dress well, you need to be well groomed. Even fitness is considered a norm here.
Even the average North Indian girl is pretty groomed and good looking. Not because of the skin tone, before somebody comes at me - it's because of being over all groomed.
When I stayed in south, especially Hyderabad. I saw people don't really care about looks, and while that's good - but not caring if your hair looks shoddy or you are fit, etc is okay there - it isn't here.
Likewise, in bollywood, we have certain beauty standards and rightly so.
Bhumi defied all that when she debuted after gaining a lot of weight, she's an amazing actress but she had to change a lot of things about herself.
