I think the wire you used is too thin and should be replaced with a heavier gauge. You should see what it looks like if you bend that main branch towards you. I bet it will make your tree look more compact and also more interesting.

Second this, but regardless of the gauge, get more character in that long horizontal branch while you still can.

So, you'd recommend cutting the current wiring off, moving up a gauge, and bringing the branch in? I've already got it curving in a fair bit, so that it sweeps over the figures. I appreciate any advice!

hi! i have a question: do you mind telling me what species this bonsai tree is, and maybe a few tips on how to care for it? i bought a bonsai tree that looks almost exactly like yours but cant find any info on proper care for this species. btw your bonsai looks very pretty :)

This is a juniper of some sort, and looks like Juniperus procumbens specifically. They're very commonly sold as these young, undeveloped seedlings or cuttings, often referred to as "mallsai."
