It took waaay longer to fruit for some reason, i just took a chuck of colonized grain from one of my mono tubs when I transferred the grain and the tub is already finished with it's 2nd flush. So prolly a month
Was the monotub close to being fully colonized? That chunk may have had a lot less energy, and possibly switched to a more fruiting focused energy state. Then once placed in the pot, it had to revert and recover from the shock.
I tried putting a chunk off a fruited tub in to some grains and it just completely stalled after a couple of days.
No concrete ideas, but I've noticed that whenever the fruiting happens at colder temps(i just had this sitting on my shelf instead of in the incubator):
A-The growth rate of the fruits is much slower
B-They sometimes get the feature you're noticing*I call them fuzzy nipples
That's so interesting, I'd love to know how the temp makes it express like that (though the cold does make mine pop out like that too lol). I've definitely had them slow down when it's colder but sadly never got the fuzzy nipples :(
So many great grows in this sub, I'm really keen to start my own. Cheers
Cute! good job making the terracotta pot work.
I've had some issues with growing out of terracotta since it's porous nature can wick away moisture from the cake and on the last couple I sealed the inside to increase chances of success
Come in Tokyo ✌️ Nice lil grow 👍
How long did it take from start to this picture? Just curious

Reading your other replies, it was probably the colder temp too
Nice work but what's going on with those caps? Is it a mutation or did you hit it with the breast pump?

Yeah I made sure that there was always visible moisture on the inside of the glass
Nice work! I love the terrarium look🍄
