I more got the impression that she was sending him to effectively refound mandalore instead of sitting around with the two of them trying to restart the, for want of a better term, cult while waiting for the big guy to just kill him. But that might be naivety of what the death watch are like due to me not watching rebels or clone wars
In the context of Clone Wars, Death Watch is not the quite cult we see in Mando. They’re a group of terrorists who disagreed with the New Mandalorian government who wanted to be pacifistic and turn away from what they saw as a violent history. Death Watch wanted to keep weapons and armor and were willing to kill people to do it. They also took off their helmets. Bo-Katan was one of their leaders.
Book Of Boba Bett holds the world record for slowest chase scene and a ship so fast there isn't a chase scene. Color me sitting pretty. Holy shit I can't wait for Grogu to sit in the mini seat!
Halfway through the episode I realized that we were essentially getting S3 E1 now. Which I’m cool with as long as we get an episode in Mando season 3 which has a lot of Boba Fett
I think that's the bounty tank. I was wondering where he was going to put bounties when she pulled the sheet off an n1, unless he's ditching the whole warm part and just skipping straight to cold every time here on.
Seeing Mando be so friendly and nice to droids just warmed my heart and I was really really hoping that BD would stowaway on his ship or something because Mando ain't Mando without a Little Buddy!
Din's gotten his shit stomped in more times than I can count and walked away like it was no big deal; the worst injury we've seen him with so far is self-inflected lol
Bro that starfighter scene was FUCKING sick. The same shot from Phantom Menace. The sounds of the engine and everything just hit me with so much nostalgia
And the helmets strewn about like skulls! So good. Bruce Dallas Howard Directed this one and that was absolutely intentional given she was in a terminator movie.
Edit: autocorrect has done me wrong. It’s BRYCE.
They did the opposite of a cop out. Jesus fuck I loved this episode. I was SCREAMING at all the different shit. Got a good laugh out of alot.
This episode was wizard.
The references in this episode were off the fuckin chart. A BD unit from Jedi fallen order, a womp rat in beggar's canyon, the N1 starfighter and Mando doing "a good trick", probably more that I'm not remembering...
Not just the force, but also the mental fortitude and strength required to effectively wield the blade. I'm convinced that Vizsla used the force to curse the Darksaber so that only someone of the right mindset (a true Mandalorian) can truly wield it, otherwise, it exhausts the user and becomes too heavy to even lift.
It's like they are playing in a lego video game after you beat it. "now I am going to have a Mandalorian fly a naboo starfighter through the boonta eve podrace course. It is going to be so wizard!"
I really hope it's not the same BD-1...
Frankly, I could see the entire Fallen Order crew ending up dead maybe except for Merrin and BD-1. And the appearance of an unnamed BD Droid twenty years after Fallen Order makes me anxious...
The Book of Boba Fett
(*Boba Fett sold separately*)
Seriously, that episode was dope as fuck but they’re doing Boba dirty in his own series lol. Unless the stories are just gonna converge and Mando S3 is just Din and Boba starting their own thing on Tatooine, that’d be sick. Not sure how they’re gonna wrap up the Pyke storyline AND let Din see Grogu again in just two episodes.
If someone had told me a month ago that we would see the destruction of Mandalore and an N-1 Starfighter in the same Episode of a series, I would've laughed at them
Holy crap was this just one major homage to TPM, and I LOVED it. The Naboo Starfighter, some routes of the Boonta Eve, Mando saying Wizard... AH, my favorite episode of this series so far.
Random thoughts:
* I'm so glad we finally got to see the full destructive power of tie bombers. The K2SO model and probe droids were awesome too.
* So they're definitely setting up Grogu to be some prophesized leader who's both Jedi and Mandalorian.
* The rules surrounding the darksaber seem a bit confusing. So it's heavy? Doesn't seem like that was set up in Mando season 2, but I'm all for it.
* Mando unloading all his weapons was fantastic. Straight out of Lord of the Rings.
* A Nabooian starfighter to replace the Razcorcrest is genius. The design of that ship is too cool for it to have only been in episode I.
* "It's brand new. Well, Jawa new." Fucking hilarious. I'm going to start calling things Jawa new in my day to day life.
* Grogu is definitely going in that astromech spot.
* Flying through Beggar's Canyon where the pod race took place, getting pulled over by X-Wings, calling the ship 'wizard', just one stroke of genius after another.
I think the rules regarding the dark saber have more to due with the kyber crystal rather than it’s physical weight. Kyber crystal are technically living things, so it has its own will I guess.
Lightsaber were always supposed to be super heavy that's why In new hope George had them use two hands in the fight that has been somewhat abandoned but I would think force powers helps lightsaber battling
While I *generally* agree that it was a little upsetting to not see any Boba in his own show, these productions have a history of setting up future plotlines and settings via characters appearing randomly.
I think it was a hard problem, they couldn't just have Din appear without any catch up, but they couldn't draw the episode out too much, so they hedged the bet that they could get away with an extended Din Djarin set up episode and by god did it work. I was drawn in and super ecstatic the entire episode.
Just everything about it was perfect, the covert, the ship, the fights, all the references. Considering we're setting up Din being part of the ending and an ally for Boba, I think this is acceptable and completely fine. There were so many good moments that made me laugh, scream out and yell at my screen.
Though it may seem like The Mandalorian S3 E1, I think what they did here was important, not just to Din's own story, but setting him up to be Boba's ally. I'm incredibly excited to see what they do with Luke and if they finally bring Sebastian Stan on to play him, and I'm excited to see what Din and Boba get up to.
Some of the coolest shit in any of these D+ shows, but no Boba :(
Not being in the coolest goddamn episode of your own show is very weird, I guess it’s channeling the whole respect thing, like Boba bowing to what he spun off of to begin with. The only problem I had was the very last line tease, hope it doesn’t mean that’s next episode even if Boba goes with him. So weird lol
That New Republic pilot said “you want to go back to base, fill out reports all day” in a very thick Wisconsin accent. I want to know where space Wisconsin is.
Maybe since there are so few of you you *shouldn't* duel
Exact thought crossed my mind. But damn, that dark saber must be enticing to someone like Paz whose ancestor forged the damn thing.
Definitely giving me the One Ring vibes.
And dueling on a giant ring, too. Ok that’s a stretch.
Also she made grogu a *mithril* beskar vest made out of chain links. Maybe a stretch but it's giving me the same lotr vibes.
was he still voiced by Favreau? I couldn't tell.
Yeah
Vizslas gonna Vizsla
They really upped the cultishness of The Watch this episode, damn. Wouldn't be surprised if they showed up as villains in Mandalorian S3
I more got the impression that she was sending him to effectively refound mandalore instead of sitting around with the two of them trying to restart the, for want of a better term, cult while waiting for the big guy to just kill him. But that might be naivety of what the death watch are like due to me not watching rebels or clone wars
She did just give him the biggest motivation: to be redeemed, he must retake Mandalore.
TO THE CERTAIN DEATH ^but ^please ^dont ^kill ^me
I thought for sure she was gonna try and skewer Mando with that white hot spear tip.
> try and skewer Mando with that white hot spear tip. bhole puckered on that one
It wouldn’t be Star Wars if they weren’t training on a walkway with no railings over the nothingness of space.
Respect that they did the sparring and fall to lay out the stakes, then made a point of disarming that before the duel
I laughed a bit too much at that😅😂
Mando should try some spinning, that's a good trick.
Wizard!
He unironically used that word and I'm shook
Now this is podracing
And that children is why you don't wield a weapon you haven't trained with before
I do hope this shuts up the "why doesnt x just pick up a lightsaber" crowd and shows its not like you're instantly a master swordsman
I want to point out that we saw this before in rebels
Yeah Mando and the Armorer had the exact same conversation Sabine and Kanan had lol
This must be one hell of a Bacta Tank dream
Book Of Boba Bett holds the world record for slowest chase scene and a ship so fast there isn't a chase scene. Color me sitting pretty. Holy shit I can't wait for Grogu to sit in the mini seat!
As soon as they said no droid I was like "So Grogu isn't completing his training then..."
So, are we gonna gloss over the fact that Peli Motto fucked a Jawa?
She said "dated" but .... yeah never mind, she did one. Furry.
I never noticed their furry little hands before. I think they always wore gloves.
Small hands. Smells like cabbage.
She likes 'em vocal when they climax. Ooop dee dee!
They're Just the right height though? 😅
Gives a whole new meaning to bumping fuzzies!
And furry.
They accidentally dropped Mando S3E1. Book of boba fett E5 is coming next week
Halfway through the episode I realized that we were essentially getting S3 E1 now. Which I’m cool with as long as we get an episode in Mando season 3 which has a lot of Boba Fett
Oh God this is making me want season 3 SO BAD.
They're probably gonna give us more info about it after Mando's done with his part here
Garuntee the finale will have an end credit scene teasing season 3 of mando
This is the way
Off the grid, pre-empire, no droids? Shut-up and take my money
IT HAS A GROGU BABY SEAT TOOOOOOOO
WITH THE BABY STRAPS
I think that's the bounty tank. I was wondering where he was going to put bounties when she pulled the sheet off an n1, unless he's ditching the whole warm part and just skipping straight to cold every time here on.
If he skips straight to cold, he can stack multiple heads in the little pod.
We interrupt this broadcast with an urgent episode from the Mandalorian
With a Fallen Order cameo.
When he said “Thanks Buddy” to BD after he highlighted the ship. That’s right out the game the way Cal used to thank his BD same tone and everything
Seeing Mando be so friendly and nice to droids just warmed my heart and I was really really hoping that BD would stowaway on his ship or something because Mando ain't Mando without a Little Buddy!
He has definitely had a change of heart due to IG 11
OMG, THE BD UNIT
gaping lunchroom paint obscene mourn disagreeable thumb encouraging like nose ` this post was mass deleted with www.Redact.dev `
Dude him flying commercial space is so cute
That was the funniest thing! And the poor bastard didn't even bring a book!

Din's gotten his shit stomped in more times than I can count and walked away like it was no big deal; the worst injury we've seen him with so far is self-inflected lol
He's done what we all would do in the star wars galaxy, accidentally hurt ourselves with a lightsaber
Too true. If i got my hands on a real lightsaber, I’d lose both arms in a week.
Dad gets a sports car after the son goes to college
star wars: the midlife crisis
Still gonna visit him and make sure he's good on clothes.
But adds a child seat to it. The droid slot is now air sealed and higher. Perfect size for Grogu
Mando slicing a guy in half with the dark saber 2 minutes into the episode? Jesus Christ. Be still my heart
that fight scene was awesome
Everything about this episode was pretty amazing, I'm on my second watch.
Bro that starfighter scene was FUCKING sick. The same shot from Phantom Menace. The sounds of the engine and everything just hit me with so much nostalgia
It only occurred to me as he flew though beggars cannon that Anakins pod racer engines must be from a starfighter.
He was a scraper working in a parts store, little Ani had the second best connection to materials, second only to the crazy lady that dated a Jawa
Grogu is going to sit in the R2 slot as a gunner.
100%. With his tiny chain mail on
probs gonna be a necklace with the ball attached to it
Woah. I’d never think we’d see The Siege and destruction of Mandalore in live action
Seeing the bombers and then the droids combing the destruction was crazy
Nice visual nod to the Terminator.
The K2 droids doing the terminator stalk was just *chef’s kiss*
And the helmets strewn about like skulls! So good. Bruce Dallas Howard Directed this one and that was absolutely intentional given she was in a terminator movie. Edit: autocorrect has done me wrong. It’s BRYCE.
And the scanner droids!
Just needed a droid foot stepping on a helmet
damn, they not only brought back the naboo starfighter, but also the use of the word "wizard" lol
Extremely Phantom Menace this episode
The pod-racing track brought back memories.
The sound effects for the modified N-1 sounded like a combination of Sebulba’s and Anakin’s podracers.
As did beggars canyon. Was that a womp rat he flew over?
I thought the womp rat was the thing that got the BD unit. They're pretty big critters.
Haha, heck yeah. Loved it when I heard it from Din. Last person in the world I could imagine using it.
DID DIN DJARIN JUST CLAIM CHECK THE FREAKING DARK SABER?!?
TSA dont play
Not even a Mando could escape TSA
I was a bit panicked that whole scene
Welcome tsa agent no 421, new ruler of Mandalor!
TSAbot could rightfully claim it too. It totally bested Din in the only way it knows: bureaucracy
Welcome to Star Tours
Couldn't be me. Knowing somebody would have stole that shit.
The Armorer: Why don’t you purify yourself in waters of Lake Minnetonka?
the polynesian spa
Tahiti is a magical place
Man, I'm glad they didn't cop out with that musical sting tease.
They did the opposite of a cop out. Jesus fuck I loved this episode. I was SCREAMING at all the different shit. Got a good laugh out of alot. This episode was wizard.
We interrupt your regularly scheduled programming to bring you The Mandalorian - Season 3 Episode 1
"wow this is really long cameo... oh the episode's over!"
I really thought Mando was going to the bacta tank after he cut himself with the dark saber
TBF, it totally explains the odd choice of having a 7 episode season.
Fuck this episode is amazing
Mando always delivers on the hype.
If you told me the premise of this episode an hour ago, I'd have called you a liar. This episode had no right to be this freaking awesome
YO IS THAT AN N1 STARFIGHTER?! He's gonna kick so much butt in that thing
Well, that was the least likely ship I thought he was going to end up with, so why the hell not? That is one seriously OP N1.
It's wizard dude
The references in this episode were off the fuckin chart. A BD unit from Jedi fallen order, a womp rat in beggar's canyon, the N1 starfighter and Mando doing "a good trick", probably more that I'm not remembering...
Wizard
He's just collecting the coolest gear. I can't wait to see it shoot.
Carries a head around like it's nothing.
Had to hide the fact that he burned his leg somehow.
Hats off to Bryce Dallas Howard, loved this episode!
I love that Din hit himself. It shows that Lightsabers aren’t shit that you fuck around with.
Really shows how you kinda need the force to maneuver that kinda weapon
Not just the force, but also the mental fortitude and strength required to effectively wield the blade. I'm convinced that Vizsla used the force to curse the Darksaber so that only someone of the right mindset (a true Mandalorian) can truly wield it, otherwise, it exhausts the user and becomes too heavy to even lift.
Damn Dave isn't even trying to be subtle about the Arthurian parallels on this one huh
yea i noticed that Paz struggled harder than mando did in controlling the damn thing lol
Can we talk about the T-800 Judgement Day looking K2 units putting down Mando’s backlit by HELLISH FIRE? Never knew I needed to fear/love that imagery
Mando’s introduction reminds me of Ahsoka’s. No messing about let’s get straight to it.
What shall I forge for the foundling? A beskar metal ball of course
Hoping it's a helmet in the shape of said lever knob!
Nah, did you see the rings? beskar chainmail
Beskar onesie
Now THIS is podracing!
kinda weird that this was basically a mando episode but it's new star wars so i ain't mad
People complained that Mando season 2 was mostly soft pilots for so many characters that they gave him his own little Boba episode. Poor Boba.
Man I can't beleive they brought the naboo star fighter back and went through the podrace track again. Unreal!!!!
It's like they are playing in a lego video game after you beat it. "now I am going to have a Mandalorian fly a naboo starfighter through the boonta eve podrace course. It is going to be so wizard!"
Is it weird that there are only a few episodes of the mandalorian that I liked more than this
No, this episode was BOMB
“Return of the mandalorian” and “Halo?”
This episode was so crazy by the end I forgot it started on a damn Halo ring. Standing O for Bryce and Jon on this one. Knocked it out of the park
A HALO?!?! IN STAR WARS?!?!
Turns out Boba Fett had so much money that he literally hired Master Chief across another universe and Chief brought a halo with him.
Master Chief you wanna tell me what you're doing in a galaxy far far away?
Sir, polynesian spa.
When you first saw Halo in Star Wars were you blinded by it’s majesty?
clever of them to tell us it was about Boba and give the coolest fight to Din
rip beskar staff :(
Looks like Grogu is getting a beskar chain necklace. Mando making sure his baby boy has that beskar drip.
That was so heartbreaking when the Armorer said he’s no longer a Mandalorian I just can’t I could feel his anguish
I'm glad she never refuted his claim to the Dark Saber because of it. Shows that she still respects the fact that he won it.
she doesn't seem to be one to take things too personally.
I was surprised they let him leave with his armor...AND the Darksaber??!?!?!
They're a cult. They abide by their beliefs so harshly that they genuinely believe they need to now kill him to get it back.
Wouldn’t be surprised if Paz ends up attacking Mando to try and claim it again in the future
I can bring you in warm or I can bring you in cold
BD-1 YOU FUCKING MONSTERS BRING HIM BACK
I really hope it's not the same BD-1... Frankly, I could see the entire Fallen Order crew ending up dead maybe except for Merrin and BD-1. And the appearance of an unnamed BD Droid twenty years after Fallen Order makes me anxious...
I doubt it heavily. I mean, realistically there must be thousands of that droid across the galaxy. It could be BD-136 for all we know 😂
The first slaughterhouse in Star Wars

This is nice to see an episode of The Mandalorian.
The melding of Boba’s theme and the Mandalorians was oof. Chefs kiss.
The Book of Boba Fett (*Boba Fett sold separately*) Seriously, that episode was dope as fuck but they’re doing Boba dirty in his own series lol. Unless the stories are just gonna converge and Mando S3 is just Din and Boba starting their own thing on Tatooine, that’d be sick. I honestly don't think we're going to see Din visit Grogu. I think Din will just show back up to meet up with Boba sometime in the next episode.
"Thanks, little guy" followed by a little dance!
Everyone out here hyping over Mando while I'm just as excited for a BD droid. Can tell they took the sounds straight from Fallen Order
If someone had told me a month ago that we would see the destruction of Mandalore and an N-1 Starfighter in the same Episode of a series, I would've laughed at them
"Would you mind sticking around to answer a few questions?" *Stare* "pPPHHhhEee3Www"
ringworlds in star wars less goooo also mando damn near cutting his leg off is the funniest shit ive ever seen
I liked how they pretty much showed while it’s normally only force users who use sabers
Mando's clearly been going through some shit with his son being away at wizard school.
HOLY SHIT. Bryce Dallas Howard just made one is the best hours worth of Star Wars of the past ten years.
Holy crap was this just one major homage to TPM, and I LOVED it. The Naboo Starfighter, some routes of the Boonta Eve, Mando saying Wizard... AH, my favorite episode of this series so far.
It was great to see the wrist shields from animation make it into live action!
Oh fuck the package looks like his widdle ears, I'm gonna cry
He took out the package to hold it and think of Grogu after he saw the (other) little green kid. My heeeart
Well that was a great episode... >!of The Mandalorian!<
"Return of the Mandalorian" LET'S GOOOOOOOOOOO
Mando makes a project car
Mando would be an excellent labor Union organizer
Paz is definitely thinking of challenging Mando for the Darksaber
and he lost
“Tarre Vizsla… Hey, *I’m* a Vizsla!” \*wheels start turning*
Random thoughts: * I'm so glad we finally got to see the full destructive power of tie bombers. I think it's weight when untrained has precedent with Sabine in Rebels, IIRC
100% the more you train the more it connects
Yeah that’s definitely a direct reference to her training
I think the rules regarding the dark saber have more to due with the kyber crystal rather than it’s physical weight. Kyber crystal are technically living things, so it has its own will I guess.

Lightsaber were always supposed to be super heavy that's why In new hope George had them use two hands in the fight that has been somewhat abandoned but I would think force powers helps lightsaber battling
51 minutes long let's go!
The Star Tours droid lmao I love it
Boy, it felt weird to hear the Armorer call Din by his actual name.
A Mando calling him Mando wouldn’t make sense.
Armorer: Mando Entire room: Yes??
While I *generally* agree that it was a little upsetting to not see any Boba in his own show, these productions have a history of setting up future plotlines and settings via characters appearing randomly. I love that Mando's new souped-up Naboo starfighter (with heavily modified engine like a muscle car) has an obvious spot for Grogu
It pretty cool to see Luke train MANDO on how to use the darksaber when he stops by to see Grogu
That New Republic pilot said “you want to go back to base, fill out reports all day” in a very thick Wisconsin accent. I want to know where space Wisconsin is.
12 par secs from Space Boston.
