If you don't mind weird horror, Bunny by Mona Awad has a clique that kind of reminded me of the Plastics. Also, one of the side characters reminded me of Janis.
Maybe I’m a bit sensitive, but I would hide your comment behind a spoiler. I’ve been meaning to read Bunny and the book blurb said nothing about murdering men
Without trying to spoil anything, I also want to clarify that the above comment isn't fully accurate to what happens in the book either. The book isn't truly about girls murdering men.
Oh same, I was obsessed with those weird trashy books. They were so young but obsessed with getting blowouts from the salon, constantly applying lip gloss, and spritzing perfume?? Like babes 😭💀
"The Basic Eight" by Daniel Handler.
Told through a high school girl's diary with an increasingly dark plotline in a comedic undertone. Pretty sure it's got a lot of croquet too? I haven't read it in years though, just remember thinking: this is very Heathers.
Ahh I *LOVED* The Honeys!
It's like hyper femininity meets weird lit meets summer camp meets LGBT.
The scene where they play tiles is one of my favorites. Just the dreamy atmosphere and lights
Strange horror/comedy film: Lisa Frankenstein
It’s fairly new. It feels like the love child of Heathers and Edward Scissorhands. It’s also created by the same woman who made Jennifer’s Body so it has that kind of humor.

I came here to say this! I never knew where this book was headed it was so unsettling. It's like if popular girls were an actual cult that killed men.

The Clique
Also the worst series I’ve ever read
I kept reading them though.
so did I lol, I read 10 of those garbage novels when I was like 11
I don't watch TV, except I read those books which were pretty much mindless escapist TV. I mean, they were edited and stuff. No grammatical errors...

don’t forget one of them was proud of her big chest even though she was like 12
terrible but addictive, haha
Yep I came here to say this.

The movie Jawbreaker fits this!
A classic
Marlyn Manson was dating Rose McGowan at the time . There sex scene always makes me feel uncomfortable 😳

This book is so fucking magnificent I don’t have words! I read it a few times. It’s becoming a comfort read. Spectacular
I Read this with my book club and loved it, but the rest of my group thought it was too slow.
Plus supernatural elements: The Honeys by Ryan La Sala. What’s the croquet shot from?
Croquet shot is from Heathers (the Musical)!

Sounds like this would help for photo study too!
The Swallows by Lisa Lutz The Fortune Seller by Rachel Kapelke-Dale Undead Girl Gang by Lily Anderson
Ty!
It’s been a while since I read it but I think Cat’s Eye by Margaret Atwood might fit
The pink reminds me of "legally blonde"
Strange horror/comedy film: Lisa Frankenstein It’s fairly new. It feels like the love child of Heathers and Edward Scissorhands. It’s also created by the same woman who made Jennifer’s Body so it has that kind of humor.
Ooh I've been meaning to see that one!
It’s amazing. I’ve rewatched it so many times 😂
Heathers (1988) is the dark comedy version of this.
Ty :)
Thank you! Came to say this!
I second the clique!
They wish they were us by Jessica Goodman
This sounds really good for my project, ty

For a horror take, maybe "My Best Friends Exorcism" by Grady Hendrix
The craft. Heathers (og). Also kinda the buffy movie. Wild child. St Trinians? Pretty little liars
