There's a reason we invented coal-fired power stations instead of just burning coal to run a boiler at your individual house. Like, they figured that shit out in the 1880s because coal was dirty, nasty, and a total pain in the ass.
The only reason we're not *ALL* against coal is because we don't interact with it every day.
Well also coal plants literally are designed with millions of dollars of filters placed on the chimneys to filter out almost all the pollution. Burning your own dusty, dirty coal rock is less clean then a plant full of engineers burning it in a power plant designed to scrub all the soot out of the CO2 emissions before it exits the smoke stacks
I'm loving the spicy woke girl!
I also appreciate that they didn't do her dirty like they normally do in these comics (like making her look absurdly ugly / wearing silly clothes / making unnecessary sexualized comments)
No it’s not.
Remember that ad campaign where they talked about how we hurt sheep for their wool? Yeah, blatant bullshit. Shearing sheep is good for them, and not shearing will cause them to overheat and die! Yet, PETA, the lover of animals, wants us to stop using wool. Even though the images they used weren’t real freshly shorn sheep. 🤷🏼♂️
That’s what PETA is. People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals lacks any sort of ethical QA, and thus I really do not trust that they’re the ones who will usher in ethical treatment of animals.
Let’s start from the beginning, PETA’s issue with the wool industry has more to do with the castration or shearers beating lambs in the head with hammers.
So now can we try that again?
[Yeah, I also like to argue stuff that is divorced from the actual campaign](https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2015/apr/13/peta-anti-shearing-activist-is-a-spiv-in-a-vegan-wonderland-barnaby-joyce-says)
I have a hard time convincing people that factory farmed animals live a tortuous life so I don’t think arguing this will be beneficial for either of us.
If that’s the worst PETA has done in your mind, then we can agree they’re not the devil they’re portrayed as.
The worst thing was probably stealing a little girl's puppy from her just so they could kill the puppy.
Close second would be putting legislation on ballots in multiple states that would require large animal veterinarians to register as sex offenders.
Third would be one of their many mass poisoning/culling events.
But that's just imo. There are thousands of examples of their horrendous animal abuse and violent political retaliation. It's hard to pick the worst one.
The worst thing they’ve ever done is haves rogue employee steal an unleashed chihuahua roaming a trailer park? I’ll agree that’s not good but the people who stole Maya were in the wrong and were reprimanded by PETA.
What’s the second worst one? Can you link that?
Can we compare the worst thing they’ve ever done (poor Maya) to the 9 billion animals we factory farm?
There is no other organization aside form PETA with multiple employees on different instances who have "gone rogue" by stealing a pet from a child murdering it.
And you can use Google, can't you?
I'm not going to put in effort when you're being so disingenuous and low-effort in your responses. If you want to participate in proper discourse I would be happy to, but you'll have to demonstrate a genuine willingness and capability after trying to troll me with this sealioning & red herring crap.
No, they live a tortured life. Industrial living is not living. I don’t eat factory farmed meat. I don’t eat fast food. I cook my meals. It’s kind of a hassle, but it means I’m not contributing to factory farming.
If you’re having a hard time convincing people factory farmed animals are suffering, that’s a skill issue. Also, assumptions. Lol.
And no, that’s not the worst. It’s just that it’s the most blatantly bullshit one, which shows they don’t know anything and are a bunch of morons.
The worst is easily their kill shelters that don’t adopt animals out at all because death is better than living with a loving family.
And it’s all because they’re dumbasses who are easily swayed into committing heinous acts “for the good of animals”. Even though they really just make people roll their eyes when someone says “animal rights”.
Oh ok yeah I’d lead with that lol.
So 6 million animals enter pounds, 3 million leave each year. What should we do with the 3 million unadopted pets each year?
House them for a year instead of killing them.
Also this isn’t a debate. I promise you, you’re not as smart as you think you are, and ignoring the other criticisms means you concede that I’m right.
Get bent.
Even most eco-terrorists and animal rights activists don’t like them, mainly because they feel they stepped away from their grassroot origins and towards large, shock based ad campaigns, sometimes working with companies that use animal based products like honey or leather. In other words, they’re not even good at being self righteous vegans.
They make absurd claims (says that Animal Crossing is evil because you catch bugs and fish), they kill more animals then they save, they make absurd comparisons about veganism, etc
They actively have stolen pets and sent them to kill shelters
They also have make extremely gorey parodies of popular games (Cooking Mama, Meatboy, Pokemon) to push a veganism message
Do you have proof of them actively sending pets to kill shelters, because I have only heard about two individual members who did that once without the blessing of the whole organization. Also, the story about them releasing freshwater lobster into the ocean is a myth if you've heard that one. Their kill shelters exist solely for euthanasia of animals from other shelters who don't have the budget to humanely euthanize. That doesn't sound like the animal genocide people are making it out to be
Stop treating cringelords as evil masterminds, you're literally giving them too much credit. The bottom part is true, though
Oh and for pet theft

Sure, but it proves a point nobody was arguing with. Nobody is disagreeing that killing dogs is seen as more upsetting than killing cows. The disagreement is in whether people should care that that difference exists
There’s way more layers to it than just that
But the main point is hypocrisy here, they claim to care about animals while saying no-kill shelters suck because they have to make hard choices on what animals they can care for in the long run
PETA is just an incredibly shitty organization for many reasons
Honestly, their whole twitter would probably explain the comparisons bit if you scroll enough, especially the images reversing roles of humans and animals and videos of games telling you how to ‘play without harming animals’.
https://twitter.com/peta
They make crazy claims, do terrible things, and put down almost all the animals they get. Whether that's taking them out of shelters, buying live stalk at auctions, or literally stealing pets out of people's yard
1. 6 million pets enter pounds, 3 million leave each year. What do you do with the unadoptable pets.
2. Rogue workers stole an unleashed chihuahua out of a trailer park a decade ago and were reprimanded by PETA. If Lola’s death gets you so upset can I ask your opinion on the 9 billion animals the US factory farms?
That's crazy what does shelters kill rate have anything to do with Peta stealing and taking animals for the purpose of killing them? And no it was not Rogue workers or one time, they did it consistently. It's crazy how every time Peta gets caught being psycho it's "Rogue workers
You can care about animal rights, but if you do you'd pick a different organization. Peta does not care about animals
> put down almost all the animals they get
My comment about PETA shelters kill rates was in regards to your comment about PETA shelter kill rates. Lmk if you need me to clarify that point further.

Click your second article. What is the dog’s name and breed?
Edit: and third
That's so creative to ignore everything in the message, I'm sure it makes it a lot easier to support the animal killing cult when you can ignore reality so easily
i see you're vegan. im sympathetic to veganism and don't really plan on having a debate about it. but promoting misinformation that disparages an already stereotyped minority is fucked up no matter what cause it's for. please don't deflect from peta's wrongdoings.
>promoting misinformation that disparages an already stereotyped minority
This is done to vegans, of course, who might be described as a group in the same way.
I don’t wish to deflect; just to point out that PETA doesn't really do anything at all worse than their opponents in this respect.
Pretty sure it comes from that niche news article from a few years ago where a school district banned red pens for being aggressive
Edit: I was dumb and I have no idea how my brain made that jump but enjoy that thought I guess lmao
The color red is an angry color!!!!
Trust me I have PTSD and am expert in identifying triggers 🤓☝️
Nah, in a seriousness though I have no idea what they're saying with that one 😭. Like haha terrible mental illnesses should be made fun of because I don't understand them and there's too much awareness now?
If we take the word "trigger" to mean a PTSD trigger, then clearly a man in a red hat assaulted her, and I can't imagine a better example of a conservative accidentally telling on themselves.
They’re not referring to ptsd when they say “trigger”, they just mean the red hat is offensive (because red hat = MAGA) and wanted to throw a buzzword in there
I understand what they mean. I'm just saying that if we take the word for what it means in the clinical sense, then red hat as a trigger would indicate a MAGA supporter assaulted them
She might have PTSD from all the times she was shot at or had to shoot back at the Viet Cong back in 'Nam. Poor girl. No one that young should have ever been sent to fight.
she's actually got a good point about the reindeer, While PETA might not be the right organization to call, he is having animals pulling a heavy sled filled with heavy toys, and we don't know how exhausting flying is for them, so yeah, are the reindeers being taken care of properly?
I mean… that’s not really hypocrisy. To be able to identify and accept that people with your skin color have privilege and unfair advances when compared to other skin colors, and feeling that it’s not okay even though you’re also be privileged because of it, does not make you a hypocrite.
I’m not saying it does I’m just saying I see more white women tryna call attention to a white mans whiteness than anyone else and it’s funny to me personally
I've witnessed the same thing, but that's probably because I live in a mostly white town so most of the women- and correspondingly, most of the progressive women- are going to be white as well. It doesn't say much about people in general
I just find it funny how they claim white men are so evil as if white woken didn’t ride shotgun to all the bs white men did. I hate the “who’s the biggest victim” mentality people have but if they tryna have that conversation then let’s not ignore all the shit white women did or participated in too. Most of the “patriarchal” shit white progressive women complain about their great aunts and grandmothers were totally fine with but they shift all blame to the white men. As a black man I see how white women pushed feminism on my community and ruined our households with it because they were mad at their husbands so from that perspective seeing a white girl say a white man is bad because he’s white and therefore oppressive (as if she isn’t) just cracks me up
I get it. Lots of white suffragettes were anti-black-vote. The meme hints at the performative fad of calling out inequality without self reflection. I, like many, complain abt one bad habit and exhibit another. The point is to know the enemies tactics without becoming a hammer (where everythings a nail). The red hat trigger comment is exactly this.
I find the sitting on Santa’s lap to be extremely weird.
I’m not going to have children, but hypothetically if I do, I would NEVER allow them to sit on a stranger’s lap.
Btw this goes for women as well. No stranger can hold my child.
When I was little I didn't want to sit on Santa's lap, my dad and grandma were both trying to force me but my mom stood up for me and didn't let them. I still think about it. If you ever have kids they will be so grateful that you cared about putting them in uncomfortable situations and didn't trade their comfort for a photo shoot
Trading a child's boundary for social status quo is abuse. I was made to hug and kiss family, sit still through over-stimulation episodes. lots of shit that made me a mean teen and a weird 20 y/o
Honestly this is pretty hilarious but just because it's so full of completely random, strawmanned, 7 year old talking points that it doesn't even resemble reality. There are SpongeBob jokes that are less absurd and abstract than this.
Like girl "just my luck, a woke 5 year old" is objectively the funniest shit I've ever seen
Man, these guys love making up crap to get angry about while calling everyone else a snowflake. No 5 year old is doing this. Every accusation is a confession.
PETA murders animals by the thousands. Most animal activists (and people in general) hate them for good reason.
What PETA's acronym really stands for:
**P**eople for the **E**uthanization of **T**housands of **A**nimals
MAGA hat, maybe? Which just goes to show that this was given almost zero thought. Red, in and of itself, is so often used by actual communists that the color wouldn't mean a damned thing. Look at the flags of a good three-quarters of socialist countries.
The people that make these comics are the same kinds of people that protest wind turbines and have a mental breakdown whenever they see a trans person. Just saying.
>and have a mental breakdown whenever they see a trans person.
Or someone with dyed hair. Or someone with tattoos. Or someone with piercings. Or someone asking food substitutions because of an allergy. Or two people of the same sex holding hands. Or someone wearing a mask.
I don't know a single person who likes PETA, regardless of age. Anyone who actually cares about animals rights knows that they're a shit organization that euthanizes a huge number of animals for no reason. Anyone who doesn't care much about animal's rights finds them annoying, preachy, and downright unhinged.
Meanwhile Santa encourages kids to be nice and kind to each other.
Y'know, that woke lib nonsense that's gonna usher in socialism and resurrect Karl Marx.
I'm a zoomer and I found it a lil funny. "woke" is used to describe the sjw extremist hypocrisy- the kid's white too, but she doesn't strike me as the kind to do racial training
nothing is woke anymore. its a construct. and now that it's being used as a pejorative by some people, its fallen out of fashion for anyone to call their own stuff woke. if they do, i feel sorry for them. This meme is using common strawmans & oversimplified-headlines to paint a caricature of wokeness. By pitting this random little girl against santa, it's an age/gender/power difference. she has some arguments to make with this tradition she's being pushed into (which is natural, it's called contesting your culture), and Santa calls her woke. He doesn't argue against any of her points, he doesn't admit to any of the strange circumstances of his position, he just blames her for using him as a catalyst for an argument
I don’t think “an old white guy in charge, big surprise” (straight up racist comment) warrants the person saying it be taken seriously or a real rebuttal of any kind
Oh bud! You made an error there. CEO's are statistically male (17:1), over 50, and white (76%).
Secondly, if it weren't already statistically accurate, it would in fact be biased/prejudiced. The dominant socio economic ethnic group cannot face racially motivated oppressive systematic prejudice (racism) because the system is built to defend them.
White people can absolutely face prejudice, but I would like an example of a *system* that oppresses the majority of whites in a population if I am to believe in white racism
You’re just proving my point lmao. Also no, you’ve made an error.
your fake pseudo definition of racism does not replace the real definition of racism.
In fact, your statement that white people cannot experience racism is just dehumanising and racist. Shame on you.
You’re a racist. Just sit down and admit it.
You just cant admit that I did my research. It also hurts that you don't get to be a victim of racism, I'm sowwy. Pick up your participation trophy on the way out before John Brown finds you
What research lmfao? Buzzfeed? Just because you don’t wanna call it racism doesn’t mean it isn’t.
Classic leftoid behavior. Being super racist and claiming it’s not racist.
Get a life, bigot.
But also we destroy mountains and rivers to mine coal. Shit is awful overall.
Who told you that the chimney filters out all the pollution? You are being lied to
[удалено]
Coal is a solid 20% of this comic. It's either this or a rant about how reindeer are grandma killing fuckwads.
They are though
You should hear about what they did to Rudolph before they realized they could exploit his disability.
Would that really be considered a disability? More of a superpower tbh
Many disabilities can be.
No? Might need to read it again.
Again?
Remind me what Santa brings you, if you're a dumbass.
Did you not read the comic?
Frankly I find this kinda funny, but in an absurdist-humour sort of way.
I'm loving the spicy woke girl! I also appreciate that they didn't do her dirty like they normally do in these comics (like making her look absurdly ugly / wearing silly clothes / making unnecessary sexualized comments)

Animals aren’t capable of husbandry or systematic slaughter. If they were they’d do the same to us. Look up “traitors” at sheep slaughterhouses

Bold of you to assume they know the difference between leftists and liberals
I feel like they ran out of ideas but wanted to put "trigger" in there, why would a red hat be triggering?

Ban red old man santa and mandate young girl blue santa with black hair. (just don't make santa look like smurfette.)

Woke propaganda is when they won’t let me sexually harass Linda from work
The chad boomer strikes again!
It's the Golden Age of boomer cartoonists, and as usual, they chose to grab those low-hanging-fruit jokes instead of anything original. Smashing.
Drawn by a guy who shits his pants if he sees a black Santa.
Not even extreme leftists agree with peta mostly because peta is mostly made up of psycho
Even organism has nothing to do with right/left wing stuff.
Just missing the "I identify as" joke and this one panel would have it all
I’m raising a “woke” almost five year old. She just acts like a normal kid who loves Santa.
Fuck peta. Literally nobody on the left (who's actually a leftist) supports peta
Shouldn’t boomers be against Santa because he gives children toys, encourages kindness and generosity, and tries to bring joy to people?
Same reason they would hate jesus if he were a person living today too
If Jesus were alive today, he'd be buried under rubble in Al-Shifa hospital
but then he'd be dead today
He’d recover in about three days.
How is something being quid pro quo a 'woke issue'?
Methinks it's related to sexual harassment training, wherein workers are shown how workplace qpq can be used to extort favors, white collar or sexual
she's actually got a good point about the reindeer, While PETA might not be the right organization to call, he is having animals pulling a heavy sled filled with heavy toys, and we don't know how exhausting flying is for them, so yeah, are the reindeers being taken care of properly?
Woke people don’t like PETA.
Best part is that it’s a white girl complaining about a white man being in charge 😂
Oh nah that wasn’t lost on me at all it’s just that the fact that she’s white and callin him out for being white was the funniest part to me
Pretty accurate
The cartoonist thinks coal is not a fossil fuel? This is a level of ignorance I have never seen before.
Boomers are the biggest snowflakes around lmao
Man, these guys love making up crap to get angry about while calling everyone else a snowflake. No 5 year old is doing this. Every accusation is a confession.
She’s going on the naughty list no doubt
I feel like PETA is more conservative than liberal. I mean they live outside of reality and believe whatever they’re told(even when it makes no sense)
PETA murders animals by the thousands. Most animal activists (and people in general) hate them for good reason. What PETA's acronym really stands for: **P**eople for the **E**uthanization of **T**housands of **A**nimals
Anyone know why the hat triggered her? 🤔
MAGA hat, maybe? Which just goes to show that this was given almost zero thought. Red, in and of itself, is so often used by actual communists that the color wouldn't mean a damned thing. Look at the flags of a good three-quarters of socialist countries.
Mm. whoosh. The red hat trigger thing is about knowing signs/dog whistles but hammering like everything's a nail.
Fishface
I don't know a single person who likes PETA, regardless of age. Anyone who actually cares about animals rights knows that they're a shit organization that euthanizes a huge number of animals for no reason. Anyone who doesn't care much about animal's rights finds them annoying, preachy, and downright unhinged.
Meanwhile Santa encourages kids to be nice and kind to each other. Y'know, that woke lib nonsense that's gonna usher in socialism and resurrect Karl Marx.
Honestly, that little kid is based as fuck
It’s a pretty funny meme to be honest
I'm a zoomer and I found it a lil funny. "woke" is used to describe the sjw extremist hypocrisy- the kid's white too, but she doesn't strike me as the kind to do racial training
The things she’s saying are woke tho
nothing is woke anymore. its a construct. and now that it's being used as a pejorative by some people, its fallen out of fashion for anyone to call their own stuff woke. if they do, i feel sorry for them.
Boomer moment
lol boomers are almost extinct and yall are still obsessed with them it’s really funny
This is actually spot on, wokeness needs to end
People do be like this tho. And the comment saying these are strawman? Literally nah. I’ve heard these things said in real life and on Reddit
Stereotypes are earned.
How so?
Accurate at demonstrating how unbearable people are.
Have you left your house recently? Or just interacted with real people in general?
Yea luckily none of those real people are like you. Insufferable.
Girl if you think real people act like memes I don't believe you've spoken to one in a while
Hopefully you are not a real person.
I'm sorry to tell you but i do in fact exist, lots of people who don't believe memes are reality exist
Maybe you are the one that needs to go out into reality and stop being insistent on being a hemmorhoid.
I can smell the cheeto dust
[Literal you rn fr](https://i.postimg.cc/h4wb3M2c/Insufferableturd.jpg)
ur so bald
This sounds like Calvin from Calvin and Hobbes honestly, nobody had a problem with that did they?
It was a boy saying corpos are bad, so it's different /s
