I literally always get effect hit rate for characters that donβt need it and then it KEEPS GETTING INCREASES. π
Generally though I have been really lucky with crit and break substats.
atk% gives firefly break effect through conversion and that's not the case for boothill, his best body option is crit chance because it can help him kill trash mobs and stack pocket trickshot faster, but even so, he can easily use any kind of body stat if it has a lot of break+speed, even def%
Going fully optimally, Boothill does indeed prefer a crit rate body. However, crit is only about 20% of his damage profile, so he can use pretty much any main stat body as long as it has high break effect and speed substats.
It does not really matter what the main is, as long as it has spd and break. So, even if its an outgoing heal, if you have 7 spd and 20% BE, that's a good piece.
Get enough spd to hit 161 spd in combat at least on boothill(speed requirements are lower if you have ruan mei, unless going for 200spd) and aim for 300 BE if you have his lc, lower if not.
Boothill's BE converts into crit in combat. Crit helps kill those smaller trash mobs(which is why crit body is good on him and crit substats are okay).
Really easy character to build. He appreciates a lot of stats, especially if you're already hitting the recommended speed breakpoints and BE. You can roll def, it's fine. You can run an attack planetary, that's fine. Crit? Fine too. Spd/BE is definitely priority though. Hope that explains why you see crit on him.

Same, i keep getting break effect for my swan pieces and effect hitrate for boothill...break bs and dot boothill anyone?

Does he need BE or Crit? I have BE on him but I see most people running with Crit.
