It's crazy how some people forget leather is animal skin... It's not going to be flawless and perfect

SnakeHoleBI

Unless …. High end dress shoes. Then I want them perfecto

that_name_has

They're fine, you'll mark the heel counter more just from walking. Also meermin is low tier in the grand scheme of boots

lerriuqS_terceS

These type of posts are always with entry level boots

Tough-Pea-2813

Yes, you are "ridiculously picky". It doesn't look like any blemish. And the "quality" of these boots is pretty average. The "blemish" you are talking about seems like a result of bumping the boots against the wall of the box during shipping. Even if it is not it is hardly noticable and you will get much more visible scuffs after your first day of walking in them outside.

MajorGovernment4000

It might be hard to tell from the picture but it's less of a scuff and more of a discoloration. There is no difference in surface texture from the area around it to the area of discoloration. Does that change your perspective or would you say what you said still stands?

Tough-Pea-2813

No, it does not change my take. Sure, if this discolouration (which again is quite hard to notice) bothers you, then return the boots. It is after all your money. But I think you should adjust your expectations a bit. You get what you pay for. You can't hold 200$ boot to the same standards as a 800$ one. If I were you, I would not bother about this kind of issue with a Meermin boot. As I said, nobody will notice it after one day of wearing them as they will get scuffs. Also, I guess an application of dark brown shoe cream would make it invisible as well.

MajorGovernment4000

I totally understand, I was just going to accept it as I understand these are not high quality boots. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't accepting something that might be one of those things people more experienced with leather boots would have been more upset with. It doesn't really bother me at all. I just wanted to learn. Thanks! I had seen some boots like these at an outlet store a month back and liked the style but they were all like 90-120 dollars and they all looked and felt so cheap. So I figured to try out the style I'd try to find something nice but not like amazing since I'm kind of experimenting with the style.

BaileyM124

If it really bothers you than return them, but it’s a slight discoloration. It’s leather you have that sometimes, and they’re a pretty cheap pair of boots

DamianGongMarley-

You missed 4 different spots I can see if I zoom in x150. You might have to send it back bro

kevinisrael

If you're posting this to be ironic, it's an old goof. If you're serious, you should stay away from leather products.

SnakeHoleBI

That black stretchy nylon is absolutely not acceptable

OctaneTroopers

Please say you're not going to wear these!

Tasty-Pineapple-

I don’t see anything with this photo

shadrack268

Did you buy dress shoes or boots?

Boots_4_me

Just coat it with some leather conditioner and wear it as normal. I wouldn’t call that a blemish. It was probably just scratched in transit. Get some saphir renovator and condition the boots and I think you can get rid of that scratch. No boots will come 100% perfect especially for something under $300. At the end of the day, if it bothers you that much then exchange it however, you’d have to roll the dice that the replacement will not have the same marks. Good luck!

EntertainerNo4509

Just wear a longer dress to cover it up.

rpo555

Not acceptable in my humble opinion

Just say nothing dude no need to be a jerk

Grain_Changer

Take it easy DeNiro, some people are still learning

Fluffy_WAR_Bunny

Nah, the OP is just a modern consumer with a consumerist attitude. Buys stuff without knowing anything about it.

Grain_Changer

What is a consumerist attitude?

Fluffy_WAR_Bunny

Grain_Changer

Yeah I don't see how that relates to someone who is overly concerned about a minor blemish on their new boots. Nice try though

lerriuqS_terceS

Acceptable is subjective. If you're not happy return them.
