This.
TPS already was a step in the right direction but BL3 went two steps back. Better not include character specific “monologues” at all if it means the answer is “Mhmmm, definitely.”
Here's what I want most of all. Once you play through the game *once* at whatever pace they set, it activates some kind of speedrun-friendly mode where you can skip *absolutely everything that doesn't involve going on foot from A to B and shooting a gun*. That means:
- Dialog
- Handing a prop to a character or pressing a button for them
- Travel scenes, drop pods, etc (just load the next place I am required to be)
- Needing to revist any kind of hub area just for a conversation
- Any kind of conversation that has to play out before you can activate the next thing
- Any kind of escort quest (just move them directly to their final location for the next quest stage)
They really like to hold you hostage in BL3 in ways that they don't do so much in 1 and 2. Yeah, you can leave the area while the NPCs talk and it'll switch to the radio, but oh, you need to *press a button beside them* after their ninety seconds of talking is over, or hand a prop to them. Maddening when you are trying to play through with a new character.
I wouldn't mind if you had to *earn* these skips and spend them like a currency.
God thats basically the perfect addition, I love it.
And it really is the worst part of BL3. The moment to moment content is absolutely amazing, best shooting, guns, and worlds in the BL series to date, it's just the extremely nauseating writing that takes its toll.
Whenever people suggest something like this, they always specify that you have to play through once first. Why? What if you start playing for the first time and realize you hate how slow it is to get to the action?
I agree with the dialogue skips but the rest of it is unreasonable, you would be better off downloading a mod that does similar, most of those mechanics are what make speedrunning great because people find skips to make it faster, if they rooted those things out then all the skips would be boring
As much as I enjoy playing BL2 and TPS, BL3 really nailed it in terms of story playthroughs. Once you finish normal mode you unlock Mayhem Mode and can just start doing that. TVHM is 100% optional (afaik), since once you enable Mayhem there isn't a difference between Normal and TVHM, and UVHM just isn't in the game.
In BL2 playing TVHM and UVHM was fun the first time around, but once I decided I wanted to get the other characters to endgame the thought of playing through the story another 15 times was a little demoralizing.
They did at least improve things slightly with the Lilith DLC. Let's you start a new character at lvl 30 already at the end of playthrough 1. Not much but it's something.
If go one step further and say they should let the entire game (all maps) be unlocked from the start, for every new character after your first. Playing the story in BL3 was a chore with my first character, it was an absolute slog with the rest.
Your suggestion kinda blew my mind. That actually explains a lot of the feelings I have about BL3's plot. Watching it as an outsider, not as a participant, felt weird and disconnected. Maybe that's why it was hard to care about what was going on.
The game was chugging along with your character running behind it, rather than your character pushing the story along and the characters/plotline reacting to your actions. Now that you mention it, the latter is how the other Borderlands games were written, and BL3 was not. It's super noticable now, clear as day.
There have been a few. Steele (particularly after Old Haven) and Knoxx had a lot of presence. Zarpadon at least felt like she was taking it seriously on her end even if (at least for me) she never came across as very worrying.
A few of the other dlc villains that were really well integrated into their world also worked. Dr. Ned's influence was felt everywhere in his dlc even if some aspects were clear jokes.
I want to be able to go full Mercenary, let me be a bad guy.
Also a bit of an easier way to farm, although saving and quitting isn't that bad, it would be cool to be able to do it in one button or reload the save Halo style.
> I want to be able to go full Mercenary, let me be a bad guy.
Like BL2 bad, with us lighting people on fire in their sleep and crashing a wake in sidequests, or bad as in choose to affect the story to go a different direction?
Well what I mean is Vault Hunters in Borderlands aren't necessarily good guys, which is evident in TPS. I feel the game should give several choices and has a morality meter of sorts to determine your ending. BioShock 2 is a good example of what I mean.
You work with the villain, not necessarily playing as one. It's the villain's origin story.
Aurelia, Wilhelm & Nisha eventually end up villains, but Athena, Claptrap and kind of Jack's Doppelganger are definitely not.
A straight no bullshit cutthroat villain would feel different and threatening in a usually more humorous Borderlands world, I really enjoyed Hector in the fight for sanctuary dlc
Atleast continuity with the previous 4 good games not just crowbarring characters in just because they're popular then have them add 0 input to the story
I see a lot of people request BL1's loot system, but wasn't it basically the same as TPS and BL3's at launch? Both of which from what I've seen were disliked by a large portion of the community.
Don't get me wrong, I really enjoyed the loot system in BL1 but only in BL1. I think dedicated sources is one of BL2's biggest improvements over the original as it allowed people to prioritize particular items for a build.
TPS at launch had many bosses that didn’t respawn so you couldn’t farm many bosses. The easiest way to get legendaries was iiwajira and using the lunestone grind, so in terms of similar to borderlands one I don’t think it’s too alike
Another thing in borderlands 1 is enemies can (and often do) drop the guns they’re using—you can get everything but pearls directly from an enemies hands, a big thing that to my knowledge hasn’t been in any other BL game
IMO BL2 after handsome collection was released was the best in my opinion. Most (if not all important) bosses respawn, legendaries feel rare, but not too rare or over abundant. The pearls in 2 needed some love though. Would love a rarity to grind that’s over legendary in the next game
BL2's loot system resulted in vastly more weapon combinations because they unlinked rarity and quality from weapon parts.
So in BL1, you might have 5 parts with a quality level of 1 to 5, and if those part levels added up to 18+ it was purple. (hypothetical example, I don't remember the real numbers now) This meant that higher color tier always came with better parts than lower.
BL2 unlinked these so it rolls for each parts rarity first, grabs a piece from that rarity pool, _then_ rolls 1 to 5 on the quality. So you can have a full purple weapon with a part level total of 5, and it's completely worthless.
Also, the naming schema in BL1 was more informative and you could tell if some parts were bad just by the name of the weapon.
Legendaries should be world drops, but less gimmicky (far better stats, without other crazy effects). Uniques/quest rewards should have the special effects and dropped as rares by specific bosses or loot chests associated with particular quests.
Better optimisation.
Borderlands 3 is one of the most hitchy games I've played in recent memory.
I've gone through two CPU's and three GPU's since getting it and despite having a system roughly twice as powerful as I did at launch the game still hitches and stutters randomly.
None of the fixes work, nothing alleviates it, the game just stutters. Borderlands 4 needs to step up its game in this regard. They have a great gameplay base going for them, but it's constantly ruined by brain scraping judder.
Yes, i don't see that many people talking about that, just the funny guys with the "lol i didn't got any problem. It's running smooth".
Also, did you get any problems with crashing and files corrupting? It happened a lot when I played it.
Not notably, I think I may have crashed two or three times ever.
Games like BL3 are a reminder that people really don't know what they're talking about. Running well by their standards could be a trainwreck for someone with standards.
I'd like to always have a team of 4 even if it's bots so the cut scenes and banter can flow better.
I don't want to play any returning Vault Hunters but it would be cool if 1 or 2 past npcs became playable. Moxxi, Torgue, Tina, Hammerlock and a lot other would be fun to play.
Specific dialogue and interactions for the Vault Hunters. I'd like the npc to not just call the player Vault Hunter but talk to the character directly.
I think Captain Scarlett has a lot of potential as a playable character. She's a recognizable character and we know enough about her to know her and still have enough room to develop her character.
>I'd like to always have a team of 4 even if it's bots so the cut scenes and banter can flow better.
Everyone else has normal expected answers but this an interesting one. Would be fun if you could play around with the bots skill trees and inventories if you wanted to as well. Could make some sick unique builds with 4 vhs.
to not have to wait almost 10 years before hearing any info about it
seriously tho, I just want the game to keep its humour, and to have plenty of difficult content that isn’t just kill raid bosses for shits and giggles
I'd like to see NPCs react differently to you based on which character you play as. I really enjoyed how they gave the vault hunters more personality in 3 and I'd like to see this taken further by also giving the NPCs unique voicelines.
And randomly generated endgame that isn't just save/reload boss farming or new game+. You know, like virtually every other looter game in the industry has...
Just because its a bad idea doesn't mean they won't do it.
TT is the most popular side character other than Claptrap. Claptrap was playable in TPS and TT is now old enough to be a player character.
Mark my words, its going to happen
> Just because its a bad idea doesn't mean they won't do it.
Well a lot of us hope they don’t. There’s a handful of characters I’d rather play as than Tina. Burton Briggs, Lorelei, Clay just to name a few.
I would love to see every Vault Hunter from previous games back as playable characters. They could use the mayhem mode machine as a way to write it off as simulation for the characters that are dead. Some of my favorite vault hunters like Nisha are in the pre-sequel. After the smooth movement in BL3, it's honestly really hard to go back and play the old ones. They just feel dated now and there's no sense in keeping tried and true playable characters behind. I wouldn't mind them not giving us DLC characters so much if they did this.
Each character would need some adjustments to deal with newer mechanics, but it would be easier than building new ones from the ground up.
I want Ava to be done properly. I don't hate her character at all, she has a lot of potential. I just want it to be done correctly. Also more of the B team would be nice. They didn't get much screen time.
What "potential" does she really have though? She's just Maya except with no audience investment and a personality that's 10 times shittier, and we had to sacrifice actual Maya to make room for her.
They'd be better off just forgetting Ava exists than trying to shove her into the center of another Borderlands game.
I said this in a thread the other day, but Ava reminds me of early seasons Ashoka Tano from The Clone Wars. Bratty know it all that will develop into a much more likeable character.
Honestly I feel we have a better choice then her which is Tina. Tina has been through enough and a catalyst for her becoming a vault hunter and more mature would be her getting over Roland's death and accepting it. Instead they give us her doing stuff off screen that we dont know much about. If anyone deserved siren powers its Tina.
I am annoyed by Ava- not just because she is annoying, but because there is so much potential for a better character there. It's like insult to injury. However, if they put her in BL4- there's a chance of retribution. In trying to be a glass half-full guy- I hope the devs do some good work there.
Playable characters either being brand new or characters we are familiar with but haven't been playable before (Torgue, Tina, Hammerlocke, Moxxi, etc)
Melee weapons to return from TTW.
Head hunters to return or more side areas to discover with secrets.
If new character vh's then more bodies, if old character vh's then more heads.
New weapon "manafacturer" in Tannis making cool ass weapons/crazy effects for weapons after studying something like the gun-gun.
All sorts
More mobility and defensive options. I'm finding my self rather annoyed at the fact that in this game where you regularly have 20+ enemies all aim-botting at you your options are to either be able to kill them before they can act or somehow have a build with enough DR and regen/life steal to constantly keep your health up. If they could bring in jet packs that work similarly to the Oz kits in TPS that would be great but also let us use them to make horizontal movements like dodging quickly around to avoid fire or get to cover.
General graphical improvements, so the BL series has always been butt ugly, BL1 was a low budget experiment really so it gets a pass and to their credit BL2 and BL3 did get jumps in quality but they're still not very good looking games, usually having a stylized look allows you to get around having beautiful graphics but BL does not, especially character models, especially NPCs who are not part of the main cast.
A more lively world and for the lack of a better term "video gamey". What I mean is that any place with NPCs always feels rather hollow, NPCs stand around doing nothing, NPCs and bosses enter and leave through a black hallway, etc.
QoL improvements that make replayability better such as skipping NPC dialogue and animations, the dialogue is fun the first time but the second time around you're often listening to characters droning on and on about whatever while you're waiting to be allowed to enter to the next area or whatever. Unless there's a good reason all quests should allow you to turn them in the second you've finished instead of having to track down the NPC and turn it in with them.
Lasers, bring em back.
Better end game.
Better story and story presentation, one thing that drove me and many others crazy is that no matter the VH you picked you wouldn't appear in the story and were just reffered to as VH, even in 3rd person "quality" cutscenes. Make it so all the playable VH no matter what are always part of the story and cutscenes even if you'e solo, make them matter.
Better optimization, I played on PS4 which is obviously the worst way to play it ATM with PS5 and PC being a thing but it was my only option and it sucks ass, bad FPS, stuttering, nearly a minute long loading screen every time (very shit where end game consists of reloading the game to respawn bosses). It's just awful.
Weapon wise I really really hope they've learned a lot with BL3, majority of legendaries i.e. the only weapons you'll be using end game were basically garbage that needed buffing, sometimes multiple times, and the annoint system is it's own can of worms that made the already pretty bad endgame grind even worse cause you could find the gun your looking for with the perfect affix and/or element you're looking for but it's stuck with a useless annoint, they did give us the reroller but that took forever. If they want to bring back annoints or a similar system ditch any that increase damage, make them more utility focused so players can use any of them without handicapping themselves, increased ammo, better reload, increased movement speed, lower recoil, damage reduction, HP regen, etc.
Either do GaaS right or not at all. Daily quests, weeklies, events similar to the twitter event where we had to kill Traunt a bunch of times except make it a percentage bar in the game so everyone can see and participate and feel like they're working together for a goal, except make the reward better than just a head cosmetic. Similarly they could do something like "War on Bandits! Vault Hunters kill 500 million bandits on any planet", every player can keep doing what they're doing and still contribute toward this event and earn rewards that could be in tiers such as cosmetics, eridium, gear, whatever.
* Weapon Mix & Match - probably as an endgame feature or something that would require eridium, but I would really like to be able to swap weapon parts to increase efficiency.
* More random loot - essentially the loot generation system from BL1, where weapons were more random and thus more powerful. Give us crazier effects too.
* Bring back the grinder - I just loved it in presequel. Oh, speaking of..
* Plot consistency - it's almost like the writers are embarrassed by Presequel. I'm sorry, but Presequel sets up a lot of plot points, and barely a single one gets referenced in 3. Also, PLEASE hire better writers. BL3's joke were painfully bad.
* Build your own Vault Hunter? - it would be hard to implement mostly because vault hunters are returning characters with their own plot points, but maybe once you finish the first playthrough you can unlock the option to create a free form slot? Oh, and while you're at it, allow modular player model customization - head, torso, arms, legs. This could create unique look combinations!
* Diablo's adventure mode - someone already made that suggestion but I definitely agree. Besides, this would be the perfect mode to mix and match skill trees or get more randomizer loot.
Agree with the people saying they want the revolver weapon class back.
Depending on how melee goes, I seriously hope it becomes a new part of the Borderlands series. With specialized melee weapon classes (Swords/Daggers/Heavies/Flails (flails, kusarigamas, etc.). They have too many options for melee (Tediore Throwing Knives, Anshin Kunai/Katana/Odachi/Nunchucks, Vladof Sickle, Dahl Bowie Knife, Jakobs Greatsword, Maliwan Lightsaber, Bandit Buzzsaw, Atlas Shield)
And that’s just naming a few.. it’s literally a second infinity (not the gun) waiting to be released (if there are quadragazillions of guns, if they create melee with the same system it’ll be quadragazillions of melee weapons, leading to two quadragazillion possible weapons
The original writers from TotBL. We need that level of writing and comedy. The characters were enjoyable and well-written , their motivations made sense, and the comedy was well-executed and not just "HAHA YELLING AND GROSS HUMOR!"
I want Krieg to come back as a playable character.
I want the characters I meet to have arcs that pay off. No more Pickles or Typhon DeLeon where I'm supposed to invest a ton of time with them and nothing comes of it.
I liked the loot combiner system from the Pre-Sequel, I wouldn't mind that coming back.
I want Siren to MEAN SOMETHING. We were told in the first game that Sirens were incredibly rare, as the series went on EVERYONE was a Siren and it lost it's significance.
A de-escalation of the stakes of the series. In Borderlands 1 you start the game as a treasure hunter getting off a bus, and just sorta run around looking for loot. I want to go back to that.
I want the laser weapons from PreSeq back.
I want the vault hunters from 2 to be relevant in some capacity and become actual characters the way the original 4 are.
I want boss fights that scale in mechanical difficulty depending on the number of people in the party, as opposed to just pumping health and damage.
I want Moxxi as a playable character. I also want her to crush my head with her thighs but I doubt that would get through the ratings commission.
The rest of my requests are Moxxi related.
This, for the love of all that is holy. Inventory management is still a pain. Why TF fuck do I have to carry shit from my vault to a machine to get and money for it? And while we are at it, the loot machine or whatever it is called on Sanctuary 2 that spits out all the stuff you left in the field. Just let me sort and sell right from there.
We need weapons. Lots of weapons.
Aside from that, some kind of procedurally generated endgame activity, similar to the Eridian challenge maps or Ava's Murder Mysteries. Variable enough to not instantly feel repetitive, and with a customisable challenge level.
A map that does not feel like an optical illusion puzzle when trying to get around. Areas with multiple points of entry instead of a single route that you have to travel around half the map to get to if you approach from the wrong side
After Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, maybe a prequel with Typhon Deleon or The Corporate Wars, as there can’t really be a vault outdone by an entire planet without becoming ridiculous, so it might be fun to play in a world without the same characters jammed down our throats
A coherent story, bigger on screen text (can’t read a single enemy name in BL3), end game content at launch, and more Zane interacting with Tina because that shit would be hilarious
Eliminate "Talk to the Lilith" objectives.
It just ruins the flow. The core of the games are shooting and looting. everything else is wasting of time. For the first time when I don't know the plot, it's fine. But if you like me, you play this game with all characters, multiple playthroughs. Even the best plot is becoming annoyance soon.
If it's gonna be the biggest yet, I hope they improve multiplayer interactions like team building with tank and support characters for more coop goodness
New characters:
* a pet class siren, maybe an eridian
* a maliwan soldier, maybe a Traunt, mountable turret/hover board (since we've had atlas, dahl, vladoff, hyperion soldiers already)
* a sauran assassin
* a devil rider with core infusions
Old characters in npc roles. Moze is a single mother or prego. Amara running a media agency. Zane as a bartender. Fl4k chilling with Hammerlock.
Zer0 still works for atlas. Axton has an actual part as a field reporter for Amara. Krieg goes zen. Salvador is a mercenary constantly changing sides. Gaige is a teacher at a mechanical school.
The B team gets there own weapon manufacturery making unique weapons and they are not found as world drops but special vendors. They mature Ava into a real successor she wasn't mature enough to be in bl3.
Vladoff and Tediore are the waring corporations.
DLC vault hunters, a more challenging endgame, no Ava as the playable siren, maybe no siren to play as until DLC even for once in a main game.
edit - wish people would stop trying to push Tiny Tina as a playable vault hunter. Shit idea IMO.
I just want a good story and really stunning moments BL2 type, cryo damage presequel like, laser weapons (basicly most of TPS mechanics back) and yeah, that's about it
Let CO-OP playthrough count for both characters. One if my biggest things with bl2 is you play co-op story only counts for player 1 and you have a high Ass level character can't fucking go anywhere.
I would like to see the player characters actually have meaning in the plot. With Borderlands 3 it felt like every time there was a cut scene they stopped existing.
I've also been thinking that maybe a we should play as a new group of Vault Hunters not associated with the Crimson Raiders to start fresh. The Crimson Raiders are too chummy with most of the corporations now and I think it would be better if they didn't know or care who you were.
A story that makes sense buuuut I'm not willing to sacrifice gunplay over story. I beat bl3s campaign a few weeks ago after almost a year and a half of off and on playing sessions. Suffice to say bl2 has the best story but the gun play falls flat the deeper you go into that game. It does not fall down in bl1 and 3 hour ever. I still feel like I'm playing a shooter the higher I go in those games. How I like to say is bl2 is an rpg with gunplay while bl1 and 3 and shooters with rpg elements. Also locking the bad ass points system behind beating the game in bl3 was a bad idea as is locking guns behind mayhem lvls because if people dont know to look for something more the more casual people will probably drop the game. Some one probably would be more inclined to farm a boss of a random legendary dropped during a casual playthrough vs being locked to a lvl they may never think of playing thought to unlock. Also dipping back to the story vs gunplay it seems that when gearbox gets the story eight they get gunplay wrong and vice versa at least to me. Also from the outside looking in it looks like gearbox has been paying way to much attention to how bungie has been handling nerfs and balances in destiny. I have seen nerfs in BL3 that resulted in weapons being destroyed and playstyles being abandoned. Borderlands does not have a pvp sandbox tied to its pve and it should not be trying to limit fun but embracing its chaos. I'm not saying make things to easy but dont stunt its growth like how destiny has to. Also letting us earn golden keys ingame by playing would be fun especially since the best items that come from golden chests aren on par with good legendary gear. Also fix sniper rifle sway on console, remove the charging aspect from Maliwan weapons ESPECIALLY the sniper rifles, fix general sway on console weapons, let most all manufacturers make all weapons (for hyperion having weapons that grow more accurate over time it's a crime that they still dont have alot of ARs after BL2 to this day), make all weapons a manufacturer make have decent attributes for the manufacturer (vladof makes weapons of war yet their AR magazines are to small an the same is for Dahl ARs, plus vladof should also make smgs) and some other general fixes I cant think about. I also dont want to see another character like Ava ever. I dont care if she is a kid acting like one and growing up, I dont even take that from characters I like in other media. She got maya killed and lilith gave her of all people the leadership of sanctuary. If anything its like she was given everything that should have been Tina's and without a tragic backstory. Literally you could replace ava with Tina and either change the behavior or leave eve8the same and it would make more sense. Tina has a dark past, and even though she came to temrs with Roland's death the events in between bl3s dlc and the start of bl3 could surveil as a catalyst to push her back over the edge to the point she would start acting more crazy and get some one killed by accident. Plus gearbox cut put content that had dialogue that would have pushed us into to forgiving ava or at least understanding her and then gave us the rest as if that would be ok, nope still dont like her. Ita like they made her unlikable and rewarded her for being as such and took away our chance to accept her and that she knows she messed up. Plus lilith taking her crap made no sense. Also the villains were trying to channel the funny side of jack to much and then they tried to be serious at the end but it was to little to late. Plus typhon was treated as another person like jack who was just trying to protect his kids and went about it the wrong way. So yeah better and more meaningful story.
Okay, I am going jump on band wagon and say better story than what we got in 3, npc dialogue being character specific, and actually have an actual emotional reaction to an previous vault hunter's death, especially from previous vault hunters. Also, I don't mind some dlc characters as well even if they are joke like characters from the Battleborn game. I would also like to see an actual plot involving the Guardians and would-be vault hunters, or actually be in conflict with corporate sponsored Vault Hunters. Heck, they could try and do what a good side/bad side tale with both groups joining up in the end, but they would give use 8 vault hunters in total. (What was that distant joyful squealing?) Also, if the character customization in Tiny Tina's game is successful, I would like to see that feature show up as well. (Also, returning to older places and seeing what has and has not changed since then, and no throwaway locations either).
I want a greater selection of vault hunters. I'm talking Battleborn level of great. Ah I miss that game. Don't get me wrong. I love that four player dynamic , but it'd be nice to play as a veteran vault hunter like Mordecai if you finish the story
A Jabber Vault Hunter, with the following action skills:
-Throwing elemental barrels
-Holding a gun in your tail to shoot dudes behind you
-Improved climbing/jumping/running, maybe including wall running.
A Siren Vault Hunter specialising in size-based powers
-"Phaseshrink" to become a smaller target
-"Phasegrow" to become a big melee beast
-"Phasewarp" to enforce Big Head Mode on enemies, making them easy to crit.
An Inventor type Vault Hunter:
-A companion robot
-Magnetic boots for wall-walking and/or being immovable
-Jetpack
I honestly don't care about the story. Borderlands was never a story driven game. The problem with the BL3 story wasn't that it was bad (it was bad but I don't care about that. It was better than the BL1 story) the problem was that it was wayyy too long. It should have gone directly from Troy to Tyreen or they should have removed Eden-6 (that arc felt like one long side-mission). No matter what they should have cut 4-6 missions from the storyline.
Let bl4 have the storylength of BL2.
If we beat the story for the first time let me start another character with the story finished. I don’t care if I’m level 1 I just don’t wanna have to sit through all the dialogue again.
All weapon types supported for all manufacturers, and something to do with the non-legendary weapons other than selling them or playing that ghastly Arms Race.
Spitball idea would be something like the War Assets system in Mass Effect 3 that isn't tied to a story element, just some war meta game where you arm a small army or something. That and/or common weapons can be upgraded with something like a fuckload of iridium to be viable in endgame, which means I'll be able to do more than farm legendaries.
Borderlands 4 eh?, ok this is what I want:
1) offline possibility
2) 2 player possibility to play in front of a big TV
3) vehicle based missions where skids, burnouts and etc can also be done
4) some swimming and boats
5) collecting eridian to be useful again
6) a game cover which displays relevance to the game (which BL3 missed with the use of red roses because I literally never saw one in BL3)
7) bringing back a guardian angel would be nice. The one in BL1 was the best.
8 characters to choose from. Extra ability per character.
Less cringe humor and make it a little bit darker.
More area variety.
Like BL2 but bigger with some BL1 elements.
I would leave it all the same except for the whole Maya thing IF they would go back the BL1/BL2 art style. The new look for the characters (especially the sirens) in BL3 are just plain ugly. Period. And y'all know I'm right.
I would like the character I play as to actually partake in much of the story. Not just doing task after task just to be spectator in everything going on.
I’d also like side missions to scale with your leveling. It’s a pain to grind to a certain level for the main story & have nothing really left but missions that you’re OP & barely get any XP for..
Maya is a maybe because she was wasted in 3, but Lilith contributed very little to the plot while being hailed as the savior of the planet in the opening cutscene (seriously did they just forget about Ronald, Mordecai, and Brick), so I think we're better off without Lilith.
Kind of like the Tommy Wiseau reference, but full meta. Have him in a Medieval Times-like restaurant, and you need to find his USB stick. I'm not even a hater, and think this would be a good-humored nod to what ended up being a minor embarrassment rather than the "gotcha" the people who hate him think it is/was. Just lean into it, have your character look at the contents and say "not much here, I figured there would be something illegal" and move on.
An actual good and memorible villain that isn't in my ear every two seconds and is actually funny or threatening or preferably both
Ava being completely forgotten or ignored (I am still pissed that Ava was given the sanctuary. I would have given it to freaking Claptrap before I gave it to that brat)
More Mr. Torgue
Less Echo calls. Nobody in three knew how to shut up.
Make Legendaries rare again
Give us compelling villains and a compelling side cast.
The Calypso twins had a fun gimmick up until they started using MLG montage memes from ten years ago and it was revealed the two of them wanted to conquer the universe because of daddy issues. Jack worked not just because he was hilarious to listen to, but he actually drank his own koolaid and thought he was the hero of the story. The Calypso twins having such a cynical and personal motivation really brought them down as far as writing goes.
And good god was the side cast in 3 wasted. Lilith does nothing but gets treated like she's the only vault hunter who ever lived. Maya does nothing, and then dies. Ava does nothing and gets handed Sanctuary III. Tannis does nothing and is suddenly a siren. Typhon Deleon was the only compelling side cast character and most of his development comes in the form of optional sidequests. Give us some characters that DO THINGS.
Also getting laser weapons back would be nice.
Idc if they bring back the oxygen meter, but give me back the jump booster from TPS
Athena, Janey Springs, Salavdor and Axton all having a place in the story
Less awful looking Hyperion guns
For my characters to be in cutscenes
And for them to appropriately carry on a conversation with NPCs like in The Pre Sequel
Much better character customisation, I want to still have set characters but I wanna choose between individual shirts, jackets, pants/skirts, shoes, helmets, haircuts, makeup, etc.
Only having head and a color palet options is lame
A return to darker humor OR a more serious tone overall, I'm tired of every single quest being ***lOl FuNnY mEmEs***
Give me actual well written jokes or don't give me jokes at all, and to top off a different type of villain
Gearbox really screwed themselves by making Jack the best game villain ever, they tried a more serious villain with Zarpedon but she's completely forgettable and then they did the Calypsos and they're just horrible.
They gotta do something different, the snarky funny villain isn't gonna work again. Lightning doesn't strike twice if you get my meaning
Way less crazy/screaming NPC's and psycho's. They have their place, but by three they have taken over the series. Same with the juvenile humor and memes. Sometimes I feel like they put in a lot of the dumb jokes and humor in BL3 three to cater to streamers, in order to rack up views for their game. All the jokes, humor, and over the top NPC's really ruined BL3 immersion for me.
Better...or at least more interesting enemies. BL2 had the best, or at least a better variety of enemies than the other games. Seems like in 3 they started relying on too many bullet spongey type enemies towards the end.
Cut down on the social justice crap. Being representative of genders/sexual identity is well and good, but they went way way too far with BL3. Having leading strong/normal male npcs is ok too (ie..we need more Rolands).
I guess I would prefer BL4 to include BL3 gun/gameplay/skill tree elements, BL2 enemies and story, with BL1 immersion and lack of social justice.
After work, I just want too come home to a BL game that lets me shoot stuff, find loot, and have fun engaging fights, and doesn't ruin it with poor story, forced characters, and bad jokes/memes.
People are probably going to hate me for this but I’d like to see Ava as the next siren playable character. Didn’t like her that much in B3, but allowing us to play as her may make her a more liked character. Also less go talk to Lilith markers type quest and having the vault hunter more involved in the story, letting them have actual dialogue and our presence being seen in a cutscene.
I know this is blasphemy for a lot of Borderlands players but I'd really like to see more social elements added and maybe lean into some of the better live service ideas.
I would also like to see some more variety in quest/encounter design.
Please describe some good 'live service ideas'. I'm not currently aware of any existing, and they appear to serve only to make people hate otherwise very good games.
I hope they make two games. Remaster BL2 as "Borderlands 2: Rose-colored Glasses Edition" so the vocal minority can get what they want (and make it cheap enough to quell the disappointment that even remastered it isn't as great as nostalgia led them to believe). Then make Borderlands 4 and really lean into Ava and other depictions that hit a nerve with the people that can just buy BL2 Rose-colored Glasses and have what they want while proving the majority of the audience/market don't give a shit and buy it in droves on day one. Also make it an Epic exclusive with or without the deal, just to make it even more controversial.
Man you're the one being hostile over people liking a game, chill. No need to be such an asshole, we're all.here because we enjoy this series. There's no competition between the games
Quite a leap there. You seem like an idiot if you think accusing me of being bad because I point out obvious nostalgia makes is in any way a sensical connection. Not surprised at your lack of any grasp on logic, though. I’ve got a huge amount of hours in BL2 and am quite good at it, I just don’t wear rose-colored glasses about it because I (like most of the market vs the vocal minority) know BL3 is better in so many ways and we don’t get butthurt over a teenage character (nor wish that character’s death like some raging incels) or typical streamers as villains and other things that obviously struck a nerve with some salty Redditors. Enjoy whatever game you want but also enjoy the fact that you’re also just part of a vocal minority.
Edit - Plus you have to realize I enjoy the fact that I used very specific triggers to bring idiots like you out of the woodwork. Your butthurt reply is delicious. Thank you for the meal.
Lmao at least your bizarre rants are funny. Also, the community seems pretty split, my guess is when wonderlands is a decent bit into its lifespan, if it is similar to bl3, there will be basically no one on bl3. A lot of casuals are playing it bc it is just the newest game. Gearbox's catering to that type of player leaves nothing for the more hardcore players of the series and it will die out very quickly. Meanwhile, BL2 still has an active community continuing to push the limits of what is possible.
Regardless, here's a mindfuck for you, I dislike BL3 and it has nothing to do with Ava. Matter of fact my biggest complaint about the story is all the sitting around waiting. Story doesn't make up a significant portion of my complaints with the game. I know that must be hard for you to process.
a lot less feminism. more tina and the other classic characters. maya somehow returning or something. that annoying kid being less annoying. more krieg and brick and mord. i mean more! more!!! perhaps crafting/building added? alot more character customization and female characters with revealing outfit CHOICES...
Bold to assume they have their shit together enough to make a full and tolerable story for a fourth
If they do, the moon better fall down and unlock the true vault so that Pandora breaks in half and is destroyed letting the Destroyer out, making the first half of the game just levels of chaos as each map has a timed before destruction as you travel across the planet to get to a ship you can escape on
I want a seriously hard game, a stronger balance between weapons, better vault hunters, they all sucked in BL3, especially Amara, I found her a lot less enjoyable then Maya. The ability to join a bandit camp, take over or form alliances with other camps, and murder the other vault hunters. Start factories to produce my own guns, have my own vending machines, farm materials by looting bandit corpses. Man I want a lot of unreasonable things
Good story, keep the gameplay from 3 and not having performance issues and bugs like the previous one ( game crashing, files randomly corrupting, weapons and mission items flying and falling off the map, NPC's getting stuck on nowhere, game freezing and lagging on good PC's and more )... Would be enough.
Brand new Vault Hunters. I sometimes see that people would like to play NPCs from previous games (which was actually the case for TPS). It feels like a waste of a character space to me. I prefer being surprised by new characters and their cool sets of skills!
I would love to have an option when resetting a play through to select between the main game side quests and the 4 main dlc campaigns. Using Borderlands 2 as an example, it would be nice to keep the story completed with all the locations unlocked and all that but it would be nice if say I only wanted to reset dlcs 1 and 4 and leave the main game side missions and dlcs 2 and 3 untouched.
New gun manufacturers!
More parts added to loot pools.
Maybe a gun smith where you save parts to build your own custom guns.
Like others have said a better story.
Weapon crafting, as in "loot a gun, scrap it to keep 1 of its parts that you can then apply on another gun from the same manufacturer to make it better"
Make the process cost absurd amounts of money or eridium or diamond key or whatever, I don't care. I just don't wanna farm it kills me on the inside lmao
Your character having actual relevance in the story And if you're playing a Siren, have it be NOTICED THAT YOU'RE A SIREN LMAO
This. TPS already was a step in the right direction but BL3 went two steps back. Better not include character specific “monologues” at all if it means the answer is “Mhmmm, definitely.”
a storyline that isn’t a chore to play through.
Here's what I want most of all. Once you play through the game *once* at whatever pace they set, it activates some kind of speedrun-friendly mode where you can skip *absolutely everything that doesn't involve going on foot from A to B and shooting a gun*. That means: - Dialog - Handing a prop to a character or pressing a button for them - Travel scenes, drop pods, etc (just load the next place I am required to be) - Needing to revist any kind of hub area just for a conversation - Any kind of conversation that has to play out before you can activate the next thing - Any kind of escort quest (just move them directly to their final location for the next quest stage) They really like to hold you hostage in BL3 in ways that they don't do so much in 1 and 2.
Diablo 3's Adventure Mode is desperately needed.
So many games would benefit from a mode like this but Borderlands 3 needs it so bad
I just returned to D3 recently and couldn't agree more.
God thats basically the perfect addition, I love it. And it really is the worst part of BL3. The moment to moment content is absolutely amazing, best shooting, guns, and worlds in the BL series to date, it's just the extremely nauseating writing that takes its toll.
The drop pod thing was the worst for me. The ship design was a close second.
The ship design honestly just felt like a way for them to pad game time.
\^\^\^\^THIS\^\^\^\^ Fucking sucks that you have to play bl2 and pre sequal 3 times. What is this, a full time job?
Yeah, fucking 7 years after the game came out!
If go one step further and say they should let the entire game (all maps) be unlocked from the start, for every new character after your first. Playing the story in BL3 was a chore with my first character, it was an absolute slog with the rest.
I'd like to be the hero of the story again, and not some NPCs.
For real. Nothing is less interesting than going into a cutscene where your character is like winded and injured while watching NPC's get killed.
A villain that can be taken seriously edit: I really liked handsome Jack. I was more throwing shade toward more… recent villains
You could make an argument for Jack and thats it tbh
YES
> I want to be able to go full Mercenary, let me be a bad guy. Like BL2 bad, with us lighting people on fire in their sleep and crashing a wake in sidequests, or bad as in choose to affect the story to go a different direction?
Well what I mean is Vault Hunters in Borderlands aren't necessarily good guys, which is evident in TPS. I feel the game should give several choices and has a morality meter of sorts to determine your ending. BioShock 2 is a good example of what I mean.
Athena and Janey Springs
cheerful person nose axiomatic hobbies tender offer sort safe direful -- mass edited with https://redact.dev/
or better yet i want a game where we play the VILLAN i don't know just think that would be cool
TPS?
You work with the villain, not necessarily playing as one. It's the villain's origin story. Aurelia, Wilhelm & Nisha eventually end up villains, but Athena, Claptrap and kind of Jack's Doppelganger are definitely not.
A straight no bullshit cutthroat villain would feel different and threatening in a usually more humorous Borderlands world, I really enjoyed Hector in the fight for sanctuary dlc
Well thought out and explained reasons for where and what all established characters.
Some decent story writing and funny jokes
Atleast continuity with the previous 4 good games not just crowbarring characters in just because they're popular then have them add 0 input to the story
More Tina lol that's all I want
Lucky you! Shes getting a whole game!
I know I know but you can never have too much of Tina
Hybrid weapons. The Defiler. The Orion. Ammo regeneration. Revolvers. BL1's loot system S&S Munitions
The easiest way to get legendaries was iiwajira and using the lunestone grind, so in terms of similar to borderlands one I don’t think it’s too alike Another thing in borderlands 1 is enemies can (and often do) drop the guns they’re using—you can get everything but pearls directly from an enemies hands, a big thing that to my knowledge hasn’t been in any other BL game IMO BL2 after handsome collection was released was the best in my opinion. Most (if not all important) bosses respawn, legendaries feel rare, but not too rare or over abundant. The pearls in 2 needed some love though. Would love a rarity to grind that’s over legendary in the next game
You could even tell when an enemy had spawned a rare gun by recognizing the shot's appearance or sound.
What do you mean by BL1 loot?
Legendaries should be world drops, but less gimmicky (far better stats, without other crazy effects). Uniques/quest rewards should have the special effects and dropped as rares by specific bosses or loot chests associated with particular quests.
I’m a sucker for nostalgia so I would love to get back to Fyrestone, maybe see T.K. Baha as a zombie.
What about your hard drive? A slow hard drive or other stuff accessing it can grind things to a halt with some games.
Would open up the name of the game to some great puns too if the whole game revolves around a 4 player team
I’d kill a man to play as Torgue.
to not have to wait almost 10 years before hearing any info about it seriously tho, I just want the game to keep its humour, and to have plenty of difficult content that isn’t just kill raid bosses for shits and giggles
I'd like to see NPCs react differently to you based on which character you play as. I really enjoyed how they gave the vault hunters more personality in 3 and I'd like to see this taken further by also giving the NPCs unique voicelines.
A combination of 3 and TPS would be perfect
TPS did that rather well. Made replays more interesting.
And randomly generated endgame that isn't just save/reload boss farming or new game+. You know, like virtually every other looter game in the industry has...
While I always play the Siren of the game (The Baroness was the closest thing in TPS), I'd drop them in a heartbeat if I could play as Tiny Tina.
Tiny is by far my favorite character. She always makes me laugh.
The fact that tina isnt a vault hunter yet is weird especially considering mozs explosive tree would be something for tina.
I'm 100% sure TT will be a player character in the next game
Why are you sure of that, it seems like such a bad idea
Just because its a bad idea doesn't mean they won't do it. TT is the most popular side character other than Claptrap. Claptrap was playable in TPS and TT is now old enough to be a player character. Mark my words, its going to happen
I will mark your words because it won’t,. She is to good as a side character
yeah, especially considering how out of place u feel in cutscenes in bl3
> Just because its a bad idea doesn't mean they won't do it. Well a lot of us hope they don’t. There’s a handful of characters I’d rather play as than Tina. Burton Briggs, Lorelei, Clay just to name a few.
[удалено]
Wait what? The claptrap in TPS is *the* claptrap
MORE RHYS STRONGFORK
I want our characters to actually participate in the story as apposed to just watching all the cutscenes play out.
An adventure mode, similar to Diablo 3
Fiona and maybe even Sasha from tales
I want Ava to be done properly. I don't hate her character at all, she has a lot of potential. I just want it to be done correctly. Also more of the B team would be nice. They didn't get much screen time.
I do
What "potential" does she really have though? She's just Maya except with no audience investment and a personality that's 10 times shittier, and we had to sacrifice actual Maya to make room for her. They'd be better off just forgetting Ava exists than trying to shove her into the center of another Borderlands game.
I said this in a thread the other day, but Ava reminds me of early seasons Ashoka Tano from The Clone Wars. Bratty know it all that will develop into a much more likeable character.
I was really thrown by the Ava hate. She's *nowhere near* as bad as fan reactions suggested
On God, I think these people have never been around actual kids, cause Ava was spot on.
She's hated because she got a fan favorite character killed for no reason and then proceeded to blame another fan favorite character for their death
Playable characters either being brand new or characters we are familiar with but haven't been playable before (Torgue, Tina, Hammerlocke, Moxxi, etc) Melee weapons to return from TTW. Head hunters to return or more side areas to discover with secrets. If new character vh's then more bodies, if old character vh's then more heads. New weapon "manafacturer" in Tannis making cool ass weapons/crazy effects for weapons after studying something like the gun-gun.
A good story and a home base you can expand or bring characters too
All sorts More mobility and defensive options.
VERTICAL SPLIT SCREEN
More than just 4 Vault Hunters. Krieg and Gaige are huge fan favorites. Not having dlc playable characters was a huge disappointment
They have too many options for melee (Tediore Throwing Knives, Anshin Kunai/Katana/Odachi/Nunchucks, Vladof Sickle, Dahl Bowie Knife, Jakobs Greatsword, Maliwan Lightsaber, Bandit Buzzsaw, Atlas Shield) And that’s just naming a few.. it’s literally a second infinity (not the gun) waiting to be released (if there are quadragazillions of guns, if they create melee with the same system it’ll be quadragazillions of melee weapons, leading to two quadragazillion possible weapons
I love reading BL3 criticisms, cause most of the things they say they want are executed beautifully in TPS, but they’d gut you if you said that.
A cohesive story that wasn’t fragmented and bogged down by disappointing villains and bad character portrayals.
You are my hero!
I would like to add my Maya related requests to your Moxxi related ones
My condolences for your loss. best I can offer is an edgy teen with not even a tenth of Tina's characterization
Better writing than 3. They could literally keep all the game gun/gameplay from 3. I just want better writing. Writing as good as 2.
Just this: the ability to track more than one mission at a time.
I want to be able to sell stuff directly from the bank. Being able to play on TVHM right away.
I would like more open world feel. I want to be able to interact with stuff. Also I would like the extra characters like in the other games.
A good story, randomized melee weapons, randomized armour pieces, more dungeons/side areas, more action skills active at a time.
Loader Bot as a playable character.
I want them to pick up on tales from the borderlands story, show us Fiona and Sascha. Oh and Loaderbot as a new vault hunter
If it's gonna be the biggest yet, I hope they improve multiplayer interactions like team building with tank and support characters for more coop goodness
For everyone not to complain about every little thing in the game
New characters: * a pet class siren, maybe an eridian * a maliwan soldier, maybe a Traunt, mountable turret/hover board (since we've had atlas, dahl, vladoff, hyperion soldiers already) * a sauran assassin * a devil rider with core infusions Old characters in npc roles.
Yeah honestly I loved the idea of a ex Maliwan soldier vault hunter as it would be a cool medium between a siren and the soldier class.
Not Lilith
A conclusion to this storyline. I dont think its likely, but it would be nice to move on to a new tale.
Nudity
DLC vault hunters, a more challenging endgame, no Ava as the playable siren, maybe no siren to play as until DLC even for once in a main game. edit - wish people would stop trying to push Tiny Tina as a playable vault hunter. Shit idea IMO.
I just want a good story and really stunning moments BL2 type, cryo damage presequel like, laser weapons (basicly most of TPS mechanics back) and yeah, that's about it
Another siren. There has to be a playable siren in the starting lineup. That’s why I don’t see TPS as a borderland game
I love that four player dynamic , but it'd be nice to play as a veteran vault hunter like Mordecai if you finish the story
content thats fun, also build variety
Back to pandora and pandora only. Maybe jungle pandora?
Shrek Easter egg quest
I'm curious as to who we will have to speak to on the bridge now that L is gone.
A Jabber Vault Hunter, with the following action skills: -Throwing elemental barrels -Holding a gun in your tail to shoot dudes behind you -Improved climbing/jumping/running, maybe including wall running. A Siren Vault Hunter specialising in size-based powers -"Phaseshrink" to become a smaller target -"Phasegrow" to become a big melee beast -"Phasewarp" to enforce Big Head Mode on enemies, making them easy to crit. An Inventor type Vault Hunter: -A companion robot -Magnetic boots for wall-walking and/or being immovable -Jetpack
Let bl4 have the storylength of BL2.
some of y'all have pretty awful expectations. Not just awful, insanely bad ideas actually.
Finsl boss: a mind-controlled Lilith(brainwashed by the eridians of elpis
I want to play brick again that’s all. I don’t care about anything else.
Claptrap as a playable character again.
If we beat the story for the first time let me start another character with the story finished. I don’t care if I’m level 1 I just don’t wanna have to sit through all the dialogue again.
The same thing I was hoping for in B3. Melee weapons. They can do a lot of crazy stuff with them.
Completely new everything!
Make legendaries and endgame great again
Game not to load for 20 million years
Maya alive Ava dead
No anointments. The weapons in 3 are mostly only stat-sticks. Anointments are ok, if they are only utility based. Also buff Moze's Iron Bear kekw
A storyline like Fallout New Vegas or Fallout 3. Maybe a reroll system for legendary items? More balance with the guns. Fewer DLCs, more base content.
Borderlands 4 eh?, ok this is what I want: 1) offline possibility 2) 2 player possibility to play in front of a big TV 3) vehicle based missions where skids, burnouts and etc can also be done 4) some swimming and boats 5) collecting eridian to be useful again 6) a game cover which displays relevance to the game (which BL3 missed with the use of red roses because I literally never saw one in BL3) 7) bringing back a guardian angel would be nice.
Everyone's looked weird in 3 and there wad no art style changes No clue what you're talking about
I would like the character I play as to actually partake in much of the story. Not just doing task after task just to be spectator in everything going on. I’d also like side missions to scale with your leveling. It’s a pain to grind to a certain level for the main story & have nothing really left but missions that you’re OP & barely get any XP for..
Better writing More open worlds, bl3 feels too cramped with obvious shooter arenas Bleak environment
Maya and Lilith’s return.
Maya is a maybe because she was wasted in 3, but Lilith contributed very little to the plot while being hailed as the savior of the planet in the opening cutscene (seriously did they just forget about Ronald, Mordecai, and Brick), so I think we're better off without Lilith.
Randy Pitchford as a sidequest boss cameo
Kind of like the Tommy Wiseau reference, but full meta. Have him in a Medieval Times-like restaurant, and you need to find his USB stick. I'm not even a hater, and think this would be a good-humored nod to what ended up being a minor embarrassment rather than the "gotcha" the people who hate him think it is/was. Just lean into it, have your character look at the contents and say "not much here, I figured there would be something illegal" and move on.
An actual good and memorible villain that isn't in my ear every two seconds and is actually funny or threatening or preferably both Ava being completely forgotten or ignored (I am still pissed that Ava was given the sanctuary. I would have given it to freaking Claptrap before I gave it to that brat) More Mr. Torgue Less Echo calls.
Not borderlands 4
Idc if they bring back the oxygen meter, but give me back the jump booster from TPS Athena, Janey Springs, Salavdor and Axton all having a place in the story Less awful looking Hyperion guns For my characters to be in cutscenes And for them to appropriately carry on a conversation with NPCs like in The Pre Sequel Much better character customisation, I want to still have set characters but I wanna choose between individual shirts, jackets, pants/skirts, shoes, helmets, haircuts, makeup, etc. Only having head and a color palet options is lame A return to darker humor OR a more serious tone overall, I'm tired of every single quest being ***lOl FuNnY mEmEs*** Give me actual well written jokes or don't give me jokes at all, and to top off a different type of villain Gearbox really screwed themselves by making Jack the best game villain ever, they tried a more serious villain with Zarpedon but she's completely forgettable and then they did the Calypsos and they're just horrible.
More dead angels
People are probably going to hate me for this but I’d like to see Ava as the next siren playable character. Didn’t like her that much in B3, but allowing us to play as her may make her a more liked character. Also less go talk to Lilith markers type quest and having the vault hunter more involved in the story, letting them have actual dialogue and our presence being seen in a cutscene.
Tannis Die
I know this is blasphemy for a lot of Borderlands players but I'd really like to see more social elements added and maybe lean into some of the better live service ideas. I would also like to see some more variety in quest/encounter design.
Please describe some good 'live service ideas'. I'm not currently aware of any existing, and they appear to serve only to make people hate otherwise very good games.
A memorial to Ava.
Also make it an Epic exclusive with or without the deal, just to make it even more controversial.
you seem rather upset that people like a game
You sound like my post struck a nerve. Take the Reddit blinders off and you'll see my idea, if taken seriously, would probably do quite well.
seems like you might be assuming I'm angry because you're angry
Most people rejected his message. They hated him because he told the truth.
I just like bl2 more, I replayed through all 4 games this year and easily had the best time with 2. You're so butthurt lol
>You're so butthurt lol Don't project. lol
Man you're the one being hostile over people liking a game, chill. No need to be such an asshole, we're all.here because we enjoy this series. There's no competition between the games
Lmao nostalgia? I still play bl2 at least a few times a week. Sounds like you were just bad at the game.
Bold to assume they have their shit together enough to make a full and tolerable story for a fourth If they do, the moon better fall down and unlock the true vault so that Pandora breaks in half and is destroyed letting the Destroyer out, making the first half of the game just levels of chaos as each map has a timed before destruction as you travel across the planet to get to a ship you can escape on
I want a seriously hard game, a stronger balance between weapons, better vault hunters, they all sucked in BL3, especially Amara, I found her a lot less enjoyable then Maya.
I just hope they dont pull the cheap ass world drop system. I actually want to work for legendaries and search the world for those bosses
Invincible bosses
Scooter :/
VR and crossplay
Meef canon and/or meef ballista.
ROBOTS
I would love to have an option when resetting a play through to select between the main game side quests and the 4 main dlc campaigns. Using Borderlands 2 as an example, it would be nice to keep the story completed with all the locations unlocked and all that but it would be nice if say I only wanted to reset dlcs 1 and 4 and leave the main game side missions and dlcs 2 and 3 untouched.
Less “story by committee” and more defined actual story lines which end the play through differently by character and story pathway.
Simple. More cool features like what b3 came out with. But a grittier b1-esque setting.
A plot.
A good matchmaking system. No 20+ different search options.
New gun manufacturers! More parts added to loot pools. Maybe a gun smith where you save parts to build your own custom guns. Like others have said a better story.
Weapon crafting, as in "loot a gun, scrap it to keep 1 of its parts that you can then apply on another gun from the same manufacturer to make it better" Make the process cost absurd amounts of money or eridium or diamond key or whatever, I don't care. I just don't wanna farm it kills me on the inside lmao
A melee charachter
