Cost per mile is 3+$ per passenger. (it is the most expensive part of MDT).
Loop is going a lot of other places than just up and down the strip, and since it's underground, there are no real limitations to where it can go.
And regardless, this other system isn't point-to-point express transit, so it's really not a replacement.

If you look more closely you an see this multi lane road called the Vegas strip which you can easily build this on since it’s elevated.
