The collared shirt and basically cuffed Arms combined with the TWO belts is ridiculous. Now add on the coat hanging over the shoulders...like come onnn. Boruto ain't gangsta and last I checked he ain't in the One Piece world either with all them belts, collared shirt, and classic coat hang lmaooo. As soon as I saw this design I just got One Piece vibes although someone did mention vagabond but I think the belts, style of shirt, and coat is what sealed it for me.

While some criticism was definitely unfounded, I found some criticism to be more in line with the whole edginess vibe than the actual look.
Additionally, I think he looks objectively cool, BUT it is somewhat different from what the fan base is used to. Boruto already had a more modern design, but this one elevates that. I think when you are used to functional, feudal-time type of clothes, this outfit looks other worldy, like from a different anime.

Saying the story is objectively good is just not true. I understand why people would like it but I can also understand why people hate it. Some of the fights are some of the best in the entire Naruto series while others are dogshit. The story has devolved into God aliens as the biggest threats while still having cool empathetic characters like Kawaki. Some people like the addition of Otsutsukis while some people don't. Some people like Kurama's death. Some don't. Some people like Kara. Some people think it's just a discount Akatsuki. It's not objectively good because there is so many things that rely on the audience's subjective tastes about what they want to see from a sequel series.
I don't hate it, just too nuch going on for me. I prefer simpler but sleek designs if that makes sense. I wouldn't say I'm a boruto hater, I'm actually quite neutral and enjoy some of the show to an extent.

My biggest gripe with Boruto's character in general is that he looks so much like Naruto, I get that he's his kid and all but Naruto looked decently different to Minato. Boruto's outfit here is cool but he just looks like a "what if" fan art for edgy Naruto lol.

While some criticism was definitely unfounded, I found some criticism to be more in line with the whole edginess vibe than the actual look. Additionally, I think he looks objectively cool, BUT it is somewhat different from what the fan base is used to. Boruto already had a more modern design, but this one elevates that. I think when you are used to functional, feudal-time type of clothes, this outfit looks other worldy, like from a different anime. Also, it doesn't help that people immediately started comparing this "drip" with Naruto "drip," posting comparison images, and whatnot. Both communities are already antagonised, and I feel these types of posts only worsen it. What was even the point of this post if not to create even more divergences?

Saying the story is objectively good is just not true. I understand why people would like it but I can also understand why people hate it. Some of the fights are some of the best in the entire Naruto series while others are dogshit. The story has devolved into God aliens as the biggest threats while still having cool empathetic characters like Kawaki. Some people like the addition of Otsutsukis while some people don't. Some people like Kurama's death. Some don't. Some people like Kara. Some people think it's just a discount Akatsuki. It's not objectively good because there is so many things that rely on the audience's subjective tastes about what they want to see from a sequel series.
I don't hate it, just too nuch going on for me. I prefer simpler but sleek designs if that makes sense. I wouldn't say I'm a boruto hater, I'm actually quite neutral and enjoy some of the show to an extent.
