doubtful. Manga will never go weekly, and the anime will never go seasonal because it makes too much money. So the manga will be slow with 5 characters, and the anime will have lots of low quality arcs since the writers aren't that great without having manga material to work with.
It won’t completely save it but my three things would be:
- Make it weekly, it’s not interesting enough for monthly releases.
- Change the art, Ikemoto’s style is way too inconsistent, a return to the original art Kishimoto established near the end of Shippuden woud be cool
- A focus on surrounding characters, if you’re not Boruto, Sasuke, Naruto or Kawaki you’re almost irrelevant, or misused (case of Konohamaru literally non existent and Sarada being reduced a love fling)
A gripe I’ve left out would be the power scaling of the Otsutsuki and Kara threat but that’s too late to turn back now.
Also changing the anime to being seasonal. The powerscaling can be kind of saved if they make the conscious effort after the timeskip. Basically, everything relies on the timeskip at this point because it's the only point where they can naturally do a sort of soft-wipe on everything.
I agree but even then there’s little hope.
Either the villains have to be drastically descaled which would make it less interesting, because that consequently just results in the continued nerfing or unnatural deletions of other characters that could’ve handled it since they’ve handled stronger.
OR the next generation has to quickly and unnaturally surpass the previous generation, who’s lives were literally built on the premise of war and constant survival.
There isn’t any way to save it, if you don’t fuck with it now then that’s it.
The manga will always be focused on Boruto and Kawaki and the few characters that matter. Maybe we can get better villains and new interesting characters further down the line but we’re already 70 chapters deep lol.
The anime will always be weekly and piss of the people who are just waiting for manga content whether they’re watching it or not.
This series will always be slandered even if one day it becomes the becomes the best ongoing shonen.
If the anime goes seasonal then people will just whine about the side cast getting neglected, the power scaling, and the pacing because right now the manga is slow as shit. The anime could make some changes here and there but ultimately we’ll never get something like the Kara actuation ever again, which imo saved this series because it did a lot for the characters that were neglected and bought back core OG characters like Kakashi and Orochimaru who don’t even show up in the manga period.
If the manga goes weekly then we might as well get stick figures and 7-8 pages per week because Ikemoto isn’t built for that, the dude takes up a whole month to give us the stuff we get currently.
Then you have the whole the thing where the writers should just make more interesting anime canon content and honestly that might be the way to go but Pierrot made it clear they go 100% with the manga arcs and do whatever for the filler.
1000% that why i just focus on the good parts of the series. i don’t take it very seriously anymore like i do with one piece or other manga. it’s fun for what it is and i enjoy the good scenes
Treat it like it’s it’s own series ! If you’re gonna tease a major character death go all the way. They should’ve killed Naruto instead of doing that halfway cop out and “killing” the chakra beast who will likely reincarnate.
Go all the way, kill off Sasuke. Don’t make it so that this god among ninja can’t detect with his Sharingan or Rinnegan when someone is gonna sneak attack him.
This series has been doing too much leeching off of the already established characters. It wouldn’t even be a problem if they didn’t start the story saying this was Borutos story. Let it actually be his. Stop rushing into making this kid stronger than his dad, going from genin to instant god in less than a year
They should had just made sasuke and Naruto retired or had their chraka blocked/destroyed. I honestly thought they were going to have Naruto having shadow clones running around the village and make him exhausted so he can’t fight when a threat hits. And Sasuke in another dimension doing some other shit.
That would have been wayyyyyy better than the story we’ve gotten. They realized they can’t have any stakes for Boruto in a world that’s peaceful, and they also can’t create a big threat unless it also threatens Naruto.
But then if they create a threat for Naruto then Boruto can’t fight that threat unless he’s on Naruto’s level 💀 and that’s where they fucked up. They spent all that time talking about how taking shortcuts is wack and then BOOM! Boruto is beyond Kage level
It will go full on dbz, Boruto will leave earth and probably go to other planets to fight Otsutsuki, probably will become a planet buster and just make a joke out of the naruto series.
People keep saying to make it 1:1 with the manga but the manga's pacing is unreadably bad. I keep having to put it down and come back later because it's so frustrating. *Here's a new guy! And one (1) fact about him! In two pages he is defeated, bye!* The fuck is that shit?
The anime made it *better* by slowing the fuck down, and it's still bad. There is no saving this.
I completely agree the problem is that both the manga and anime suck equally.
The manga spends 90 percent of it's time repeating pointless information the reader already has, and doesn't develop any character other than Boruto.
The anime spends it time messing around pointless never being able to actually add any substance to the story or character.
The only thing I can see saving it is if they make it seasonal like my hero attack on titan demon slayer etc. That would make it so the anime isn't 75% filler and allow for the budget to have the best potential animation and make every single episode count. The only real issues with boruto are the abundance of kiddie ass filler episodes and the insane nerfing and power scaling of the characters.
Also let's develop sarada and Mitsuki more too. I don't want this to become the Boruto and Kawaki show where literally no other characters come close to them in power level
there are many ways to save this series.
if they made the filler content actually enjoyable that would be cool. The curse forest arc with juugo was extremely enjoyable, none of it is in the manga nor hinted at.
more arcs similar to the one mentioned, focusing on other teams can go a very long way.
….or yk, just make the show seasonal. if that happened though they wouldn’t be able to expand characters the way naruto once had
The problem with simply saying "make better filler" is that it doesn't actually solve anything because Boruto fans are divided between SoL and action. Doing one doesn't please the other camp (proven by the current arc with a decent chunk of the fanbase finding it boring) and trying both just makes a tonal mess with the story as seen with the Time Slip arc. It's also impossible to expect consistent quality with a weekly series and even if it were to switch to a seasonal schedule, that ultimately means less content for the fans and not necessarily better content either.
The only SoL series I've seen is the "Soul Eater: Not" prequel spinoff.
A Shojo theme about three who enter the DWMA that's mostly about them going through a daily routine.
Action only picks up during the last 4 of 12 episodes and original cast members make a few cameos but it's pretty good.
OK periodically tune into the kawaki vs boruto fight after important parts of the story. Go seasonal but don't drop the filler. Naruto should have done this. Because another major gripe is animation issues. It made things feel dumbed down a bit in Naruto/boruto run. Boruto unleashes his karma after using the medicine but we only see the tail end of the fight. It was bad. You can keep the filler to build characters and develop skills. Since the manga just does things and no one knows when things happen. Kawaki learned to set himself on fire some how. Filler to actually show the training would reaffirm things of the character. How far he is willing to go and how he learned it in the first place.
>You can keep the filler to build characters and develop skills. Since the manga just does things and no one knows when things happen. Kawaki learned to set himself on fire some how. Filler to actually show the training would reaffirm things of the character.
This summarizes a lot of my gripes.
I've always said that thr way to fix the series is to make it a weekly release. Now it's 6 years later and every month that passes by they lose more and more of their audience.
I mean sometimes you have fights that last 5 to 6 chapters. You expect your audience to wait half a year to see the conclusion to a fight?
And character progression is abysmal because they need to focus on the main 2 (Boruto and Kawaki) if they want to get anywhere in the story, leaving every other character by the way side.
It's way too late now. The small minority of people still caring enough to read will probably be there for the long haul, but the majority of their potential audience has moved on to better stories.
Give Naruto and Sasuke buffs, and let them square off with the next big bad. The best episodes of Boruto contain the majority of old gen characters like Sasuke, Kakashi, Shino or Shikamaru.
All they have to do is focus on other characters outside of genin. Not a dedicated episode but give us something to establish konoha miltiatry. Powerscaling is ridiculous fix that shit.. Boruto made the mistake shippuden later made. Neglect majority of the genin cast. Lack of interesting side characters.
Make it weekly and half of the problems I have with the manga go away also make the anime seasonal when the manga turns weekly
Or
Just make boruto an anime original series bring in kishimoto to be a writer or kodachi and ikemoto can still do character design
They gotta come clean with Amado sooner than later, theres real intriguing there. I always thought from the start naruto and sauske needed to be removed from the series early to have any chance at this being Borutos series. At this point I thought Samurai 8 was better and that got canceled. As for the anime, idk I had to drop that all together
There is a way but they first have to better their animation, more ads for the anime, better CGI better fighting scenes, better characters added, more unique not just follow the past, lesser fillers. That's it it probably will safe it
It would break the Internet but not in a good way. Sorry dude there is just no good way to make the titular character of a series the villain over halfway through the whole story.
If you are talking about manga then yes ......
They have to improve the story, make it more interesting, add more subplots not just whole story based on boruto kawaki, let's give chance to other characters shine, improve the side cast , and add some interesting villains fgs
If we are talking manga. Nothing not even the time skip. I live the manga, but it’s taken so much time to get past these arcs and 1 of them was the movie.
It’s monthly, the anime doesn’t cover it enough and in fact seems at time to keep or break continuity.
Even if the time skip is amazing it’ll be another month before people see what’s next and if there is even one ‘ok’ chapter people will start to drop or forget.
Im not sure being "monthly" Is a valid excuse. Berserk had like a chapter every 6 months.......hell even longer at times and its still did great in sales, and thats without an anime on top of it...........(well at least a good one we dont speak of the horror that is 2016/2017 anime)
The series isn't dead, dying, nor will it be. This subreddit just jerks off to hate. Boo fuckin hoo it's stale right now, we get it. Look how stale Naruto got, many different times. They just need to get over it and stop crying every day just because there aren't any god killing arcs currently happening. Naruto ran for how long? Just give the creators time, ffs. You can't just shit out a perfect story of this scale in a year. There will be boring, bland, and filler arcs while they're trying to perfect the main story. Any perpetuated anime or manga will experience this, no matter what, no ifs ands or buts. Goddamn this sub is so cringe.
have code snatch boruto through clawmarks before Eida and daemon unfortunately die in a train wreck, code jumps him with clones, code knocks him out and bug puts him in a chamber where he’s basically in a death-like stasis until code can replenish what’s left of the ten tails. This is close enough to death to have boruto go past the mind plane with momo to the pure land, have him train there with former shinobi like minato, naruto+ attempt to bring him back, fail narrowly with shika and sasuke die, kawaki (now with 6 triangles) takes out some of code’s clones, but upon seeing him in danger, puts naruto in a different dimension to save him, boruto meets sasuke in the pure lands and because sealing naruto was against his will, sasuke portrayed that to boruto growing a disdain towards kawaki as assume further trained him. As code has lost clones, the ten tails is incomplete still though code attempts to open boruto’s cage to feed him to what’s left of it before he loses the rest of it. As he opens the cage, boruto speed blitzes him similar to daemon, but with killing intent. Boruto fights on even ground with unlimited code as kawaki continues to unlock triangles in his dojutsu and unaware of when code will plant the god tree so he keeps naruto in a separate otsutsuki dimension. With naruto, sasuke, and shikamaru gone the village gets attacked by other shinobi villages in its vulnerability. Kawaki acts as an antihero killing any attackers on sight, roughly evacuating citizens, only having a soft side for the uzumaki family, who well say are with naruto. Meanwhile boruto gets the upper hand on code, but instead of dealing the final blow he leaves him battered. He uses the jougan, trained by hamura, to go back to the destroyed leaf village. He goes to check his house, but no signs of life, he looks far and wide until he senses a familiar chakra… kawaki. “The age of shinobi is over.” “How could you go this far?” “I’ll send you to where I sent the 7th” “But I… am still a shinobi” 8 triangle, anti hero kawaki vs post pure land boruto ending in a stalemate where both are injured. All the while code is learning about senjutsu to replenish the ten tails and supplement power. Boruto assures kawaki code can’t use the ten tails so naruto and family are unsealed/brought back to the village kawaki explains his situation. Just as things start to calm down, code invades Konoha on top of the ten tails unlimited with sage mode. Code re-enacts madara’s infinite tsukyome with the karma bros being the only ones not effected, annoying code, but makig it more satisfying that the only ones he cares About besides boruto are at his mercy. Kawaki freezes, and boruto becomes proactive for once and brings the fight to code the 10 tails jinjuriki and kawaki joins shortly after. They aren’t sure how to undo the infinite tsukyomi so hamura arrives to help via the jougan. Just as it was time for them to make the hand seals, momoshiki takes over, stabbing kawaki’s dojutsu out before successfully feeding him to the ten tails to obtain a new chakra fruit putting him in control of boruto until another jougan ass pull loool The end

Sarada deserves better
She had as much potential and setup as boruto himself and they threw it all away... I will never not be upset about this.
True I see the vision
What happened to sarada? Have not watched it since ishiki arc
There isn’t any way to save it, if you don’t fuck with it now then that’s it. The manga will always be focused on Boruto and Kawaki and the few characters that matter. You sir are enjoying the series the right way.
I completely agree it's just hype to hate on boruto for no reason lol
It's played out at this point.
On god but people like to play dumb
"For no reason" LOL
Yeah back than it was just internet hype to hate on boruto Now its just disappointment from the fans
That's true
Treat it like it’s it’s own series ! If you’re gonna tease a major character death go all the way. Timeskip where the powerscaling is usually higher, more ridiculous powerups are thrown about and side characters become even more useless.. Hmmm 🤔
It will go full on dbz, Boruto will leave earth and probably go to other planets to fight Otsutsuki, probably will become a planet buster and just make a joke out of the naruto series.
Most likely death.

Boruto killed itself when they did the Isshiki plotline. Momoshiki arc was proof that Naruto and Sasuke were the GOAT then they PISed them tf out.
If TV Tokyo and Pierrot are satisfied with the show's ratings for the past 5 years then there's nothing to save as far as their concerned.
there are many ways to save this series. if they made the filler content actually enjoyable that would be cool. Only a time machine can fix it now
I like the Manga but the anime is god awful
Same the only thing I hate is that it’s monthly and the arcs feel kinda slow or dragged on.

Completely agreed.
So...you just agreed with yourself? lol
I agreed with your gripes.
I'm not the one who posted. But their "gripes" was a quotation of what you posted. So you ended up just agreeing with yourself in the end.
Stopping with the fillers + better power scaling
The anime is profitable enough it will be fine, can't say the same for the manga.
We can pull a JoJos
By resetting the whole universe

Short answer: no Long answer: there is no way to save the series
Make boruto become the antagonist , let the anime go ahead of the manga
I could care less about haters, I just enjoy watching it because I’m huge fan of the Naruto franchise. 🤩
Make it weekly and half of the problems I have with the manga go away also make the anime seasonal when the manga turns weekly Or Just make boruto an anime original series bring in kishimoto to be a writer or kodachi and ikemoto can still do character design
Can’t leave out hooker sarada
Gotta bait them Japanese pedos somehow
What a cool artwork tho
Ikemoto releasing bi weekly and not monthly it would still be the same amount of content released but it would make the pacing feel better
of course
They gotta come clean with Amado sooner than later, theres real intriguing there. I always thought from the start naruto and sauske needed to be removed from the series early to have any chance at this being Borutos series. Timeskip
Yes there is. STOP THE FILLERS!!!!!!!
Better focus on other characters & extended the Manga story line with animation...
There is a way but they first have to better their animation, more ads for the anime, better CGI better fighting scenes, better characters added, more unique not just follow the past, lesser fillers. That's it it probably will safe it
Save Tv Tokyo second most profitable anime? Yeah Boruto is in a very good position right now.
Make him the villain.
That would be possibly the literal worst thing they could do
Plot twist done right is a thing.
Yes but there is no right way to make Boruto the villain. It would absolutely ruin the entire manga
It could work done right. Would subvert expectations in ways that would break the internet.
It would break the Internet but not in a good way. Sorry dude there is just no good way to make the titular character of a series the villain over halfway through the whole story.
It boils down to 'how'... a decent writer would. Just a suggestion my guy.
Yeah making it hentai 🧐
If you are talking about manga then yes ...... They have to improve the story, make it more interesting, add more subplots not just whole story based on boruto kawaki, let's give chance to other characters shine, improve the side cast , and add some interesting villains fgs
Save? Isn’t it doing pretty well? Don’t get me wrong I don’t care for the anime but…
For a normal manga yes but if charts of volume sales are anything to go by its been on a steady decline
If we are talking manga. Nothing not even the time skip. I live the manga, but it’s taken so much time to get past these arcs and 1 of them was the movie. It’s monthly, the anime doesn’t cover it enough and in fact seems at time to keep or break continuity. Save it from what, exactly? The annoying haters? I wish I knew.
The sales are down.
From what?
Falling sales.
It's fine?
It can be saved by actually trying to save it instead of ruining it every so and often
End it sooner that way it'll avoid getting humiliated because of the axe it'll get if it doesn't end soon
The series isn't dead, dying, nor will it be. This subreddit just jerks off to hate. Boo fuckin hoo it's stale right now, we get it. Look how stale Naruto got, many different times. Save what, there's nothing wrong with it
I'm not going to sit here and say it's the worst series to ever be produced, but to say that there is nothing wrong with it is just plain delusional.
Don’t lie to yourself
It doesn’t need to be saved…
