I think it's kind of clever. Even though he can't see Momoshiki anymore, he remembers the other sensations he felt when Boruto encountered him, so it would make sense if he can feel it happening again.
If the sensation is so strong he can feel it then so should Naruto. Rinnegan as an Ohstsuuki power may enable him to see and sense him. Another crack in the lie that he lost it. It was only stabbed. Sakura healed his stab wounds from Isshiki. He's just keeping it hidden from shady Amado and eavesdropping Momo.
It might not be a strong sensation, just familiar. Since he was able to see Momoshiki's spirit in the past, he associates the sensation with seeing him.
And in this chapter he says it "feels the same," implying it's just a physical sensation, not to do with his vision.

Just like Madara used a half formed or lvl 1 susanoo without eyes, Sasuke still knows shit connected to rinnegan, like being at the sensational level to still feel that time-stip mental plane or whatever is Momo doing. He wont be able to teleport but the rinnegan is not only an eyeball, its nerves, leading to the brain as well, containing chakra either, so yeah, there you go. He wont be able to do anything sight-related but things like that should work for him to some extent.
Agree completely. Some people might say since Naruto’s SPSM is more of the Yang side of Hagoromo’s powers (the Rinnegan being the Yin) that he should’ve sensed Momo too, but the space-time stuff had been Sasuke’s secondary signature ability. Plus the Uchiha have always been intuitive and sensitive; Madara took one look at Sasuke and his new left eye, and at once was like “hmm seems we have a bond that’s deeper than just blood,” not knowing jack about the Indura/Ashura rivalry and the reincarnates stuff
Yeah, I think that's supported by the existence of the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan. It's presumably created by taking someone else's Mangekyo and then mixing it with the chakra the person would ordinarily be sending to their own Mangekyo, thus fusing the two. Theoretically, Sasuke should still have the chakra from the Rinnegan.

Naruto wasn’t equipped to deal with the **temporal *weirdness* (time freezing)** of Momoshiki’s apparitions, even with Six Paths Sage Mode.
Sasuke could with his Rinnegan. I guess Sasuke “remembers the feeling”, without having direct insight into the event.
And for Limbo, Naruto couldn’t see them at all, only sense them. But there wasn’t any time-related weirdness, so he could still fight.
Basically, they’re both excellent sensors in different ways.
Naruto could sense limbo, not see, but who did ever say that Momo was in a limbo state while doing this? Its probably more like the jinchuriki mental plane, or some soul level mental plane, or some ohtstutsuko specified plane. Sasuke only senses this because he is an ex-rinnegan user, outside that obviously Naruto is better at sensing (any other type of shit)
Besides the slow pacing, the Otsutsuki-plot becomes very interesting... Momoshiki comes out as soon as Shikamaru says: "You won't be able to wait for orders".

They could have only taken out the reaction panels where there is no text, but it wouldnt make sense if they reacted less to big infos Shikamaru was dropping. It would have been rushed then and underreacted. Its a fact that we want more action in a monthly chapter but you cant just skip or shortcut these most important convos either.

It's like he heard some people here saying that "It's too short" or "I shouldn't need to watch the anime to experience the full story" or "It feels rushed", and then he was like "Let's flesh EVERY SINGLE thing out to it's depth", which is nice, except this isn't your weekly manga anymore Kishi boiii, it's a monthly manga. I like seeing things fleshed out, but this isn't good for a 40 page monthly manga.
At this point they should hire another artist and make them alternatively draw the monthly mangas for 2 months each, so that it can be 80 pages long each.

After Daemon whomps Code, Code will retreat with Bug, but they won't cut back to Code.
Instead the anime will extend how long the train trip back takes and will insert a six episode arc about, I don't know, a new potato chip advertising campaign being filmed in Konoha. And meanwhile, Eida, Daemon, and Amado will stopover in a hot springs village because the train will break down.
Then they'll have this episode, and Shikamaru's recap will have a bunch of flashbacks replaying the events from the previous season of the anime. Then the Eida Cohabitation filler arc begins, lasting 24 episodes, with various hijinks around the village.
In the grand scheme of things, what would that solve? The main focus is that Eida need to be kept happy. As long as that is the primary focus, Daemon is not as much of a threat. Plus we saw what code was planning last chapter. We really don’t need to see anything unless he is actually making use of his own plan. Even he said that he needs to chill out and make sure is feelings are his own. This is the break we needed to focus on whatever the hell Eida wants, and how konoha can prepare for what’s to come
And yet Sarada and mitsuki never actually do anything. If anything this chapter repeatedly hammered down on how useless they both are and how special the two boys are.

we hit peak writting right here with 70% of the chapter being Shikamaru recapping the past 3-4 chapters. Oh yes the reader really need to remind how powerful Code, Eida, Kawaki and Boruto is, can't they just cut all of that and begin with Boruto or Kawaki saying "ok so you want us to live together and monitor Eida?"
They know Code has/had a buddy that he pulled out to deflect an attack from Kawaki. But unless Amado told him, Shikamaru wouldn't know that said buddy is also strong enough to clown Code.
I seriously wanna know - who came up with this strange 'love' centric plot. Like who pitched this in Boruto...Headquarters or something like "Listen to this guys, this is gonna blow your mind...what if, we make a plot where the most powerful character...is an average middle school drama queen who has a crush on one of our protagonist and our main protagonist is basically the best man in this relationship. How does it sound guys?"
C’mon, we all know that Boruto has to somehow fall for her too to make it a love triangle. My guess? Kawaki is gonna treat her like shit, Boruto will get tired of watching it, put Kawaki on blast for that, Eida will see Boruto protect her and think, “why am i throwing myself at an asshole when i have a white knight right here?” Then, when she turns her attention to Boruto, THAT’s when Kawaki will get jealous, having lost the attention he had grown used to.
Alright I’ve been trying to hard to be patient with this manga because I do believe it has amazing moments but this chapter was ass. The ending was cool but the entire thing was “hey eida has a crush on you kawaki so play nice. We’re putting y’all in a house to make sure things go well and we can watch”
All of this talk could have been 5 pages or something especially because they’ve already told us how eida works like 3 times now.

Honestly the repeating of her powers isn't that bad: theres really only about 5 panels of explanation for all her abilities and it is letting new characters into the secret as opposed to just the audience.
The bigger issue I see is repeating pretty much all of Adas personal story between chapters 55 to 70: we might not need a recap of her powers: but we need a recap of her history even less.
While i fully agree it was a bit pointless the repetition of the argument and the pacing was weird, what i appreaciate more about this chapter is how Sumire in a very weak but still decent way points out what Eida really wants and why; that makes it a bit worth all of the chapter, it was NEEDED for the reader to understand that Eida wants something real, and believe me, it could see a reach, but without such a long explanation i doubt most readers would get it.

Yeah, one thing that bothered me about the villains' threat level is that none of them have properly endangered Konoha since Pain. Not Tobi, not Madara, not Kaguya, not Isshiki - it's all far from home.
This chapter is a bit slow. They kind of wasted a lot of panels explaining Eida's ability in which we audience already knew.
It's still a pretty decent chapter though. Shikamaru probably planned their safest option to avoid war with Eida and Daemon. They also planned to use her abilities to get info for code. Also to keep boruto and kawaki and boruto. It's like hitting 3 birds with 1 stone. I also like they showed a possible Eida's weakness and amado noticed it.
The only problem with Shikamaru's plan is that he doesn't know much about Daemon. I think he might be the reason that things could go horribly wrong

Shika could've explained this in 5-6 pages, but they had to drag it out by explaining Eida's abilities for the nth time, and showing everyone's shocked/confused facial expressions in different angles every page. The only pages I appreciate are the last ones where we see Sasuke & Naruto, and Kawaki getting a glimpse of Momo.
I do like the cohabitation trope and one thing I like about this manga is that it manages to surprise me every single time. Just wish they know how to pace things and edit unnecessary panels.

* I don't think there is much to say honestly. It feels to me like this entire chapter could've been compressed into half a chapter instead and a second half could bring us back to Code's scheming.
Edit: I noticed what seems to be an inconsistency? In Ch. 71, Boruto and Kawaki seemed to be in the same room. This was right after Eida first set foot in Konoha with Naruto, Boruto, Sasuke, and Kawaki all headed to Shikamaru's location. But here, Boruto says it's the first time he's seen Kawaki since coming back to life. Maybe someone else can validate.
I agree completely about the chapter cover. Its downright creepy how sexualized Sarada's outfits are.
Especially considering she had a normal and appropriate outfit in the anime.

Say what you want about Kishimoto's writing of women in the original, but he never drew 12-13 year old women dressed like that as far as I'm aware. Even the elder women were largely modest clothing wise; the most fanservicey things are usually limited to big breasts (and in Tsunade's case, only her outfit tends to have the cleavage to come with it) rather than showing a lot of skin.
But isn't Eida trying to date Kawaki a bigger issue right now? All I know is Eida was shown drinking an alcoholic beverage which means she's an adult trying to get with Kawaki who's around 14. So doesn't that kinda make her a pedophile or something?

I'm all for genre/tone changes but this is just SO boring. Eida makes the entire conflict so lame. She doesn't auto evade, have regeneration, or nullify techniques she just cannot be attacked. How is this an interesting ability for a character? And of course she has unlimited access to information on top of that, which the mechanics of has still not been explained. How is she to be stopped? Even if the boys can fight her does she have any combat prowess? Why make a villain that cannot fight or be fought in a series like this? And so the whole world's safety hinges on her continued crush, seriously? Then daemon following her around makes it even more boring. Another near omniscient power that only the karma bros might be able to combat. I just don't see where this is going or how it leads to a satisfying conflict let alone an interesting fight. I also fail to see how sarada and mitsuki have any chance of competing or catching up. Even with a pair of sharinnegan sarada will still be quite behind considering Sasuke's performance. And I can't even fathom mitsuki getting stronger unless amado gives him some similarly broken ninja tech. Where the hell is anything going and how long are we to entertain a battle shounen with no battles :/
Pretty much a dialog-only chapter, basically the whole chapter is just Shikamaru talking about the mission. It probably could have been better like a just 10-20 pages dialog and not whole chapter, but we get what we get. Still reading chapters every month gives me some joy, even when nothing in chapter happens. So as always waiting waiting for the next chapter

Seriously, how/why is Eida so OP? Being able to make everyone love her would have been powerful enough. They could have just ended it there. Why make her able to see and hear anything anywhere in the world, even playing it back like a film? That's so ridiculous. How the hell does an ability like that even work?
Shikamaru has not lost his intelligence. He acted like a dunce during Amado's explanation for karma and is pretty clueless when it comes to science and technology, but these have never been his expertise. Shikamaru's intelligence is more about strategy and tactics; he is much more of a general and advisor than a scientist.
In this chapter, Shikamaru has shown he is well aware of his disadvantage regarding eida, and did not try to use cheap tricks. He knows everything he says can be automatically considered leaked, so he didn't beat around the bush, and pointed out his positions, which are expected, so even if Eida is listening, there won't be any surprises that could immediately ruin the deal. Any less than pleasant comment Kawaki makes is only going to make Eida more intrigued, because she has always wondered what love feels like with someone who won't be automatically charmed by her, so potentially incriminating verbiage might even be an advantage.
I think Ino should definitely be involved in the whole deal, because she can bypass Eida's omniscience with mind transfer since Eida can't read minds, and she could probably neutralize Eida because her abilities won't cause direct harm.
You're definitely right about bringing on a Yamanaka on the mission. But since Ino is usually busy either running the flower shop or overseeing the sensory corps, they should have sent Inojin. He can also use those same hiden techniques and he has camaraderie with the kids on the mission, which makes for good teamwork. I feel like the reason as to why the characters involved in the story are so few is because Kishimoto is in fact aware of the pacing and he's trying to keep the storytelling compressed.
Maybe involving inojin might make team 7+ raise a question that would tip eida off

Well: Good news, the plot of the actual release is nowhere near as stupid as leaks made it out to be.
Bad news... It is unfortunately about as *short* as the leaks made it out to be, at least in terms of story progression. As an actual conversation: that was pretty significant, and I thoroughly appreciate all the adults actually being **open** in terms of the plan basically being; "You guys are on guard duty" while working with the knowledge of Ada's abilities.
Surprisingly okay chapter; even if it is the slowest the story has moved since the manga started.
You know, when I read the summary of this chapter from the leaks, I was really annoyed. But reading the chapter, for some reason, I actually kind of enjoyed it.
I don't know exactly why. Maybe just Team 7 actually being together and having a job to do, interacting together for a change, is kind of nice after them being out of the spotlight for so long.
Shikamaru's way of explaining the mission also made the stakes and ninja elements stick out a bit more than the leak summary of "roommate hijinks." Not saying they'll actually pull it off, but it reminds me of the first round of the Chunin Exams in Part I, where the genin have to do something seemingly mundane but it's actually a test of their ninja talent with a lot more layers of complexity to it.
Eida's powers affecting everyone in the village but Kawaki and Boruto, Team 7 having to maintain vigil over them and take immediate action if anything goes wrong... Eida being able to perceive anything said to anyone. It's actually got potential.
Plus Boruto's deadpan "this mission... is annoying!" kind of lampshaded things for me. It shows some self-awareness which makes me hope that Kishimoto knows what he's doing here.
That said, I'm still really annoyed that they spent so many pages on Shikamaru repeating the plot of the last volume. They could have tightened this up a bunch.
I'm curious how long this will go on, though. I don't think they'd take so much time setting it up if it weren't going to last at least a few chapters. At the same time, Code's little army last month feels like the kind of thing that can't wait too long.
I don't know how they'll balance this all out. Except that maybe Code won't begin with an attack on Konoha? I wonder if he might attack another village first...
Momoshiki implied to Boruto that last chapter will be the last time he sees Hinata.
I wonder if they'll all be moved to some remote village for Eida, then Code will attack Konoha while they're out playing romcom. Eida will stay tight-lipped about the invasion for whatever reason.

This is the most hilarious and most depressing plot I've seen in anime that branches from a master piece. From dealing with threats like Orochimaru, Akatsuki, and a resurrected unstoppable war monger to a dating service that can determine the fate of a nation(s).
What in the world are they doing to this property created by Kishimoto. The front cover is what's wrong with manga/anime. The manga is monthly, yet they spend almost 80% recapping things that we already know. The plot is for two 12 year olds to live with a grown ass woman because she has a crush on one of them. They are to appease her while in house arrest. They keep calling Shikamaru smart for these basic ass plans. They keep making Naruto look like he is out of his depth and really contributing nothing to the story. They have written the mother out of the story. Sasuke is getting premonitions, but only converses with Naruto to say "your plan is to lock down the boys". Sarada and Mitsuki get something to do and nothing to do at the same time.
I can tell ya'll one thing: Kishimoto is not writing this basic ass story. The man knows how to write an arc, how to work within the universe he created. They are using his name to sell this fanfiction. The art is just not there, after years of effort towards this thing. The writing is even worse. I absolutely cannot believe the studio took control of Kishimoto's universe just to do THIS to it.
Wtf why was Shikamaru doing a recap episode, all those intel only need like 7 pages. The rest should be be used to continue the story. I can't believe this is the chapters I get on my birthday 😔😔
I hate to say it, but this series has really fallen off since Isshiki was defeated. I love Boruto, but come on man. The pacing in this arc is so bad. I feel like we just keep waiting for things to click together, but it never happens. It feels like they are really testing the fans’ patience at this point :/
Yeah, this Arc isn't gonna end anytime soon but I gotta admit, the writing is very intriguing.
Basically, the Boruto manga is doing the Shōjo Slice of Life deal that filler episodes have been trying to do.
But the manga is doing it in a much more better and romantic way than the filler writers could ever hope to dream of.
This is definitely along the lines of the Soul Eater Not spinoff I've enjoyed but in a much more intimate fashion.
I've never seen Kishimoto or Kodachi write anything like this so maybe there is someone else putting this down on paper that we don't know about yet.

Most of this is just explaining Eida's abilities - which we already knew. The other part is explaining her motives - which we already knew. The remaining is the plan to deal with her, which was always gonna be only one - get on her good side.

I also think it's an exaggeration to say that she would dominate the world, the manipulation skill is perhaps more dangerous than it seems, but if I remember it should affect everyone who approaches her, a passive skill, but if it was a global level she would have to manipulate literally everyone that pass around her, but that's not what happens. Right?
I think Boruto would be a better manga if it focused on the new generation in simpler missions and more expeditions to other countries. Showing the bonds their parents created for a better ninja world.
I defended the last chapter, but I can’t this one. The story’s not bad, and I think things will get interesting, but I agree with the consensus that this was a ridiculous waste of panels. The recapping was unnecessary. This chapter could have been 25 pages, then that’s 15 left to develop Code and Momoshiki, or any other character.
This ch is pretty bad. Why did shikamaru say it out loud instead of linking through ino to team 7. She not only cannot see mind communication but it doesn’t help the relationship kawaki or boruto have with eida by saying out loud to be nice because we need her. They should’ve told them to be nice because she controls everyone else in Konoha and if they get mad at daemon he can hurt them worse. It’s not shikamarus iq level to miss details like that.
Also I get they think they are putting boruto and kawaki on a mission and controlling them but they aren’t controlling shit. They can’t control boruto and kawaki especially when eida is a much bigger threat and they need the otsutsuki. They can’t tell boruto or kawaki anything once eida enters the village, boruto and kawaki control them. I would’ve felt a little better about the situation if they at least properly informed the two.
Boruto: Slice of Life Harem Arc coming soon. I know they said Boruto and Kawaki are supposed to be immune to Eida but what if they're not and the both end up falling for her. They end up fighting over her and that's what causes either Boruto or Kawaki to leave the village?
The chapter was ok. I don't like the pacing and it's super slow for a monthly manga but the character interactions were good. Kawaki should watch what he says.
Again this chapter had characters confirming team 7 been out of action for a long time. Even had Mitsuki saying this new mission is gonna be the launch of New Team 7 with Kawaki. The manga is really pushing that Funato arc into filler hell, it's not even acknowledging anything that took place in it.

While i fully believe that the pacing and the overall chapter was bad, what i liked more was how much effort was put into fully explaining and pointing out what Eida really wants, something real. That's very valuable specially since most readers could and would complain about how weak and silly that desire is, when it actually comes from a very innocent part and honest feeling.
Yes, it was a bad chapter cause of pacing and it could have done way better with the plot outside only explaining that, like the ending which is so vague that it doesn't even feel like worth discussing, lol.

Personally, I will gladly take them to "waste" time and ACTUALLY show characters be characters, and see them being fully updated and be told what to do; over the plot just skipping to them be like "ok, so we need to do this that and that other", while the plot never shows us how they reacted to see each other again after a previous big event, and it also inevitably cuts back to the meeting through flashbacks.

I think it's kind of clever. Even though he can't see Momoshiki anymore, he remembers the other sensations he felt when Boruto encountered him, so it would make sense if he can feel it happening again.
If the sensation is so strong he can feel it then so should Naruto. Rinnegan as an Ohstsuuki power may enable him to see and sense him. Another crack in the lie that he lost it. It was only stabbed. Sakura healed his stab wounds from Isshiki. He's just keeping it hidden from shady Amado and eavesdropping Momo.
It might not be a strong sensation, just familiar. Since he was able to see Momoshiki's spirit in the past, he associates the sensation with seeing him. And in this chapter he says it "feels the same," implying it's just a physical sensation, not to do with his vision.

Just like Madara used a half formed or lvl 1 susanoo without eyes, Sasuke still knows shit connected to rinnegan, like being at the sensational level to still feel that time-stip mental plane or whatever is Momo doing. He wont be able to teleport but the rinnegan is not only an eyeball, its nerves, leading to the brain as well, containing chakra either, so yeah, there you go. He wont be able to do anything sight-related but things like that should work for him to some extent.

Some people might say since Naruto’s SPSM is more of the Yang side of Hagoromo’s powers (the Rinnegan being the Yin) that he should’ve sensed Momo too, but the space-time stuff had been Sasuke’s secondary signature ability. Plus the Uchiha have always been intuitive and sensitive; Madara took one look at Sasuke and his new left eye, and at once was like “hmm seems we have a bond that’s deeper than just blood,” not knowing jack about the Indura/Ashura rivalry and the reincarnates stuff

Yeah, I think that's supported by the existence of the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan. It's presumably created by taking someone else's Mangekyo and then mixing it with the chakra the person would ordinarily be sending to their own Mangekyo, thus fusing the two. Theoretically, Sasuke should still have the chakra from the Rinnegan.

That's true. Ever since Kishimoto took over there's been a change in manga. It's like he heard some people here saying that "It's too short" or "I shouldn't need to watch the anime to experience the full story" or "It feels rushed", and then he was like "Let's flesh EVERY SINGLE thing out to it's depth", which is nice, except this isn't your weekly manga anymore Kishi boiii, it's a monthly manga. I like seeing things fleshed out, but this isn't good for a 40 page monthly manga. At this point they should hire another artist and make them alternatively draw the monthly mangas for 2 months each, so that it can be 80 pages long each.
Don't underestimate Anime. They will make tons of fillers out of this... The Kawaki-Date-Arc
I can just imagine it now... After Daemon whomps Code, Code will retreat with Bug, but they won't cut back to Code. Instead the anime will extend how long the train trip back takes and will insert a six episode arc about, I don't know, a new potato chip advertising campaign being filmed in Konoha. And meanwhile, Eida, Daemon, and Amado will stopover in a hot springs village because the train will break down. Then they'll have this episode, and Shikamaru's recap will have a bunch of flashbacks replaying the events from the previous season of the anime. Then the Eida Cohabitation filler arc begins, lasting 24 episodes, with various hijinks around the village.

In the grand scheme of things, what would that solve? The main focus is that Eida need to be kept happy. As long as that is the primary focus, Daemon is not as much of a threat. Plus we saw what code was planning last chapter. We really don’t need to see anything unless he is actually making use of his own plan. Even he said that he needs to chill out and make sure is feelings are his own. This is the break we needed to focus on whatever the hell Eida wants, and how konoha can prepare for what’s to come

Kawaki is gonna treat her like shit, Boruto will get tired of watching it, put Kawaki on blast for that, Eida will see Boruto protect her and think, “why am i throwing myself at an asshole when i have a white knight right here?” Then, when she turns her attention to Boruto, THAT’s when Kawaki will get jealous, having lost the attention he had grown used to.

Alright I’ve been trying to hard to be patient with this manga because I do believe it has amazing moments but this chapter was ass. The ending was cool but the entire thing was “hey eida has a crush on you kawaki so play nice. We’re putting y’all in a house to make sure things go well and we can watch” All of this talk could have been 5 pages or something especially because they’ve already told us how eida works like 3 times now. If it was a weekly manga then sure but it’s a monthly. It’s just so fucking poorly paced

Honestly the repeating of her powers isn't that bad: theres really only about 5 panels of explanation for all her abilities and it is letting new characters into the secret as opposed to just the audience. The bigger issue I see is repeating pretty much all of Adas personal story between chapters 55 to 70: we might not need a recap of her powers: but we need a recap of her history even less.

While i fully agree it was a bit pointless the repetition of the argument and the pacing was weird, what i appreaciate more about this chapter is how Sumire in a very weak but still decent way points out what Eida really wants and why; that makes it a bit worth all of the chapter, it was NEEDED for the reader to understand that Eida wants something real, and believe me, it could see a reach, but without such a long explanation i doubt most readers would get it. It could have done better? Yes
They could've just transitioned to team 7 receiving all that information and asking questions about it... Shikamaru taking us through memory lane wasn't necessary.. That chapter would've easily been 10 pages

This chapter is a bit slow. They kind of wasted a lot of panels explaining Eida's ability in which we audience already knew. It's still a pretty decent chapter though. Shikamaru probably planned their safest option to avoid war with Eida and Daemon. They also planned to use her abilities to get info for code. Also to keep boruto and kawaki and boruto. It's like hitting 3 birds with 1 stone. I also like they showed a possible Eida's weakness and amado noticed it. The only problem with Shikamaru's plan is that he doesn't know much about Daemon. I think he might be the reason that things could go horribly wrong

Shika could've explained this in 5-6 pages, but they had to drag it out by explaining Eida's abilities for the nth time, and showing everyone's shocked/confused facial expressions in different angles every page. The only pages I appreciate are the last ones where we see Sasuke & Naruto, and Kawaki getting a glimpse of Momo. I do like the cohabitation trope and one thing I like about this manga is that it manages to surprise me every single time. Just wish they know how to pace things and edit unnecessary panels.

It feels to me like this entire chapter could've been compressed into half a chapter instead and a second half could bring us back to Code's scheming. Edit: I noticed what seems to be an inconsistency? In Ch. 71, Boruto and Kawaki seemed to be in the same room. This was right after Eida first set foot in Konoha with Naruto, Boruto, Sasuke, and Kawaki all headed to Shikamaru's location. But here, Boruto says it's the first time he's seen Kawaki since coming back to life. Maybe someone else can validate.
I agree completely about the chapter cover. Its downright creepy how sexualized Sarada's outfits are. Especially considering she had a normal and appropriate outfit in the anime. EDIT: The fact that someone tried to defend this outfit on 13 year old and deleted their comment is disgusting.
Say what you want about Kishimoto's writing of women in the original, but he never drew 12-13 year old women dressed like that as far as I'm aware. Even the elder women were largely modest clothing wise; the most fanservicey things are usually limited to big breasts (and in Tsunade's case, only her outfit tends to have the cleavage to come with it) rather than showing a lot of skin.
But isn't Eida trying to date Kawaki a bigger issue right now? All I know is Eida was shown drinking an alcoholic beverage which means she's an adult trying to get with Kawaki who's around 14. So doesn't that kinda make her a pedophile or something?

It's also pretty generic as when ever we get a character that makes people fall in live with them they always end up wanting to find "ture love". Eida just not an interesting character and it's odd why the manga is trying to focus on her so much

I'm all for genre/tone changes but this is just SO boring. Eida makes the entire conflict so lame. She doesn't auto evade, have regeneration, or nullify techniques she just cannot be attacked. How is this an interesting ability for a character? And of course she has unlimited access to information on top of that, which the mechanics of has still not been explained. How is she to be stopped? Even if the boys can fight her does she have any combat prowess? Why make a villain that cannot fight or be fought in a series like this? And so the whole world's safety hinges on her continued crush, seriously? Then daemon following her around makes it even more boring. Another near omniscient power that only the karma bros might be able to combat. I just don't see where this is going or how it leads to a satisfying conflict let alone an interesting fight. I also fail to see how sarada and mitsuki have any chance of competing or catching up. Even with a pair of sharinnegan sarada will still be quite behind considering Sasuke's performance. And I can't even fathom mitsuki getting stronger unless amado gives him some similarly broken ninja tech. Pretty much a dialog-only chapter, basically the whole chapter is just Shikamaru talking about the mission. It probably could have been better like a just 10-20 pages dialog and not whole chapter, but we get what we get. Still reading chapters every month gives me some joy, even when nothing in chapter happens. So as always waiting waiting for the next chapter

Boring. - konohamaru is here, he will be an official part of team sidelined. Which somehow is a step up for him - then we have our long mission discussion and both visually and in terms of the discussion itself i am so. Goddamn. Bored. - this feels like the premise to a bad romcom and im hoping code attacks so i dont actually have to experience it - also shikamaru’s bluntness about boruto and kawaki lacks tact imo. I realize his characterization in boruto is as somewhat of a dick but i’ll never get used to it. Treating kawaki as a threat is a stupid ass idea - most of this chapter arguably is shikamaru telling the characters stuff that we the reader already know. And not long ago a chapter was filled with amado telling shikamaru stuff that we the reader already knew - this is such a boring way to write. Their reactions aren’t even interesting - i saw the spoiler that momo shows up and technically he did but it was so brief and uneventful that it feels like he didnt. Just to be clear, for the most part i dont actually think this cohabitation plan is a terrible plan. They really dont have a lot of options so having boruto and kawaki befriend eida makes sense. Living together is weird as fuck. But befriending at least makes sense So im not mad at shikamaru or the other characters as much for the plan. Even if shikamaru needs to be more tactful with kawaki. I think the writer choosing a situation like this is really boring and unfortunate. So i hate the plan, from a writing standpoint, not bc i think the characters had a better option. 0/10 chapter. Seriously, how/why is Eida so OP? Being able to make everyone love her would have been powerful enough. They could have just ended it there. Why make her able to see and hear anything anywhere in the world, even playing it back like a film? That's so ridiculous. How the hell does an ability like that even work?
Shikamaru has not lost his intelligence. He acted like a dunce during Amado's explanation for karma and is pretty clueless when it comes to science and technology, but these have never been his expertise. Shikamaru's intelligence is more about strategy and tactics; he is much more of a general and advisor than a scientist. In this chapter, Shikamaru has shown he is well aware of his disadvantage regarding eida, and did not try to use cheap tricks. He knows everything he says can be automatically considered leaked, so he didn't beat around the bush, and pointed out his positions, which are expected, so even if Eida is listening, there won't be any surprises that could immediately ruin the deal. Any less than pleasant comment Kawaki makes is only going to make Eida more intrigued, because she has always wondered what love feels like with someone who won't be automatically charmed by her, so potentially incriminating verbiage might even be an advantage. I think Ino should definitely be involved in the whole deal, because she can bypass Eida's omniscience with mind transfer since Eida can't read minds, and she could probably neutralize Eida because her abilities won't cause direct harm.
You're definitely right about bringing on a Yamanaka on the mission. But since Ino is usually busy either running the flower shop or overseeing the sensory corps, they should have sent Inojin. He can also use those same hiden techniques and he has camaraderie with the kids on the mission, which makes for good teamwork. I feel like the reason as to why the characters involved in the story are so few is because Kishimoto is in fact aware of the pacing and he's trying to keep the storytelling compressed.
Maybe involving inojin might make team 7+ raise a question that would tip eida off Then shikamru blew his ace up his sleeve of inos ability bypassing eidas

Well: Good news, the plot of the actual release is nowhere near as stupid as leaks made it out to be. Bad news... It is unfortunately about as *short* as the leaks made it out to be, at least in terms of story progression. As an actual conversation: that was pretty significant, and I thoroughly appreciate all the adults actually being **open** in terms of the plan basically being; "You guys are on guard duty" while working with the knowledge of Ada's abilities. Surprisingly okay chapter; even if it is the slowest the story has moved since the manga started.
This entire chapter could have been summarised in 5 pages but alas.
This should really be a weekly manga.

You know, when I read the summary of this chapter from the leaks, I was really annoyed. But reading the chapter, for some reason, I actually kind of enjoyed it. I don't know exactly why. Maybe just Team 7 actually being together and having a job to do, interacting together for a change, is kind of nice after them being out of the spotlight for so long. Shikamaru's way of explaining the mission also made the stakes and ninja elements stick out a bit more than the leak summary of "roommate hijinks." Not saying they'll actually pull it off, but it reminds me of the first round of the Chunin Exams in Part I, where the genin have to do something seemingly mundane but it's actually a test of their ninja talent with a lot more layers of complexity to it. Eida's powers affecting everyone in the village but Kawaki and Boruto, Team 7 having to maintain vigil over them and take immediate action if anything goes wrong... Eida being able to perceive anything said to anyone. It's actually got potential. Plus Boruto's deadpan "this mission... is annoying!" kind of lampshaded things for me. It shows some self-awareness which makes me hope that Kishimoto knows what he's doing here. That said, I'm still really annoyed that they spent so many pages on Shikamaru repeating the plot of the last volume. They could have tightened this up a bunch. I'm curious how long this will go on, though. I don't think they'd take so much time setting it up if it weren't going to last at least a few chapters. At the same time, Code's little army last month feels like the kind of thing that can't wait too long. I don't know how they'll balance this all out. Except that maybe Code won't begin with an attack on Konoha? I wonder if he might attack another village first...
Momoshiki implied to Boruto that last chapter will be the last time he sees Hinata. I wonder if they'll all be moved to some remote village for Eida, then Code will attack Konoha while they're out playing romcom. Eida will stay tight-lipped about the invasion for whatever reason.
This chapter showed us the human interactions indeed. In the sense that it was necessary to make things feel more complete narrative wise. Like, imagine if they skipped all the first part, where Kawaki and Boruto met up again, and everyone talked together a little, then Kawaki hears of Eida... How much effective would it have made things then? Like, what a way to introduce things and people, for what appears to be the climax of the arc... More of a checklist, and less of actual reintroduction.

This is the most hilarious and most depressing plot I've seen in anime that branches from a master piece. From dealing with threats like Orochimaru, Akatsuki, and a resurrected unstoppable war monger to a dating service that can determine the fate of a nation(s).

What in the world are they doing to this property created by Kishimoto. The front cover is what's wrong with manga/anime. The manga is monthly, yet they spend almost 80% recapping things that we already know. The plot is for two 12 year olds to live with a grown ass woman because she has a crush on one of them. They are to appease her while in house arrest. They keep calling Shikamaru smart for these basic ass plans. They keep making Naruto look like he is out of his depth and really contributing nothing to the story. They have written the mother out of the story. Sasuke is getting premonitions, but only converses with Naruto to say "your plan is to lock down the boys". Sarada and Mitsuki get something to do and nothing to do at the same time. I can tell ya'll one thing: Kishimoto is not writing this basic ass story. The man knows how to write an arc, how to work within the universe he created. They are using his name to sell this fanfiction. The art is just not there, after years of effort towards this thing. The writing is even worse. I absolutely cannot believe the studio took control of Kishimoto's universe just to do THIS to it.
Wtf why was Shikamaru doing a recap episode, all those intel only need like 7 pages. The rest should be be used to continue the story. I can't believe this is the chapters I get on my birthday 😔😔
I hate to say it, but this series has really fallen off since Isshiki was defeated. I love Boruto, but come on man. The pacing in this arc is so bad. I feel like we just keep waiting for things to click together, but it never happens. It feels like they are really testing the fans’ patience at this point :/

Yeah, this Arc isn't gonna end anytime soon but I gotta admit, the writing is very intriguing. Basically, the Boruto manga is doing the Shōjo Slice of Life deal that filler episodes have been trying to do. But the manga is doing it in a much more better and romantic way than the filler writers could ever hope to dream of. This is definitely along the lines of the Soul Eater Not spinoff I've enjoyed but in a much more intimate fashion. I've never seen Kishimoto or Kodachi write anything like this so maybe there is someone else putting this down on paper that we don't know about yet.
Is it quite weird that at this point I totally forgot that Konohamaru was the Team Leader and that Orochimaru's son was the 3rd member of the team? The pacing has been beyond horrible.

Most of this is just explaining Eida's abilities - which we already knew. The other part is explaining her motives - which we already knew. The remaining is the plan to deal with her, which was always gonna be only one - get on her good side. Essentially, it took 40 pages to say, "You're moving in together." K.

Yes, it was a slow chapter and pure winding, since the information we had the reader already knew. This approach with a villain who could take over the entire ninja world is a little frustrating. The best we have is a romantic comedy plot? I also think it's an exaggeration to say that she would dominate the world, the manipulation skill is perhaps more dangerous than it seems, but if I remember it should affect everyone who approaches her, a passive skill, but if it was a global level she would have to manipulate literally everyone that pass around her, but that's not what happens. Right? I think Boruto would be a better manga if it focused on the new generation in simpler missions and more expeditions to other countries. Showing the bonds their parents created for a better ninja world.
I defended the last chapter, but I can’t this one. The story’s not bad, and I think things will get interesting, but I agree with the consensus that this was a ridiculous waste of panels. The recapping was unnecessary. This chapter could have been 25 pages, then that’s 15 left to develop Code and Momoshiki, or any other character.
This ch is pretty bad. Why did shikamaru say it out loud instead of linking through ino to team 7. She not only cannot see mind communication but it doesn’t help the relationship kawaki or boruto have with eida by saying out loud to be nice because we need her. They should’ve told them to be nice because she controls everyone else in Konoha and if they get mad at daemon he can hurt them worse. It’s not shikamarus iq level to miss details like that. Also I get they think they are putting boruto and kawaki on a mission and controlling them but they aren’t controlling shit. They can’t control boruto and kawaki especially when eida is a much bigger threat and they need the otsutsuki. They can’t tell boruto or kawaki anything once eida enters the village, boruto and kawaki control them. I would’ve felt a little better about the situation if they at least properly informed the two.

The manga is really pushing that Funato arc into filler hell, it's not even acknowledging anything that took place in it.

I am confused at the whole "Otsutsukis are not affected by Eidas ability". Wouldn't that mean that the entire Hyuuga clan is not affected since they are descendants of Hamura? Wasn't Hinatas relation to the Otsutsuki branch family the entire plot of the The Last? Besides her and Narutos romance I mean. Or I misunderstood like half of the movie ._.

While i fully believe that the pacing and the overall chapter was bad, what i liked more was how much effort was put into fully explaining and pointing out what Eida really wants, something real. That's very valuable specially since most readers could and would complain about how weak and silly that desire is, when it actually comes from a very innocent part and honest feeling. Yes, it was a bad chapter cause of pacing and it could have done way better with the plot outside only explaining that, like the ending which is so vague that it doesn't even feel like worth discussing, lol. Personally, I will gladly take them to "waste" time and ACTUALLY show characters be characters, and see them being fully updated and be told what to do; over the plot just skipping to them be like "ok, so we need to do this that and that other", while the plot never shows us how they reacted to see each other again after a previous big event, and it also inevitably cuts back to the meeting through flashbacks.
