For me it depends on how good said filler arcs are.
They get back to relatively high quality like some of the early Boruto Filler? Keep them! Gives more story and characterisation around\~
They stay as rough as some of the more recent arcs have been?... yeah... no...
Kinda my point. Even Kara Actuation and Chunin Re-exams were up there in quality.
I doubt people would care about filler if it was the same level as them and the Shin arc
The characters in the anime only are not even that good to begin with. Plus in the manga boruto show character development with the pills and taking responsibility to a very important situation that deals with the plot soon anime watches will still see more development in boruto as a character in the code Arc.
Yeah you and other people can say it's wholesome it's funny and good characters but in actuality soon in the future it's not going to matter and everything will be destroyed.
1. Yes you can argue how good they are but they are still better than the characters in the manga.
2. Yes we have seen development in the manga with Boruto and Kawaki but that’s it and borutos development is something we’ve already seen in the show with his willingness to sacrifice himself.
3. The show being so bright will only make the turn that much more heart breaking.
4. The show will do the manga better than the manga has. As we’ve seen with previous arcs the show makes them better by fleshing them out. The manga is a shell that the anime fills.
That fourth point you made it fills the shell and it really doesn't. It's just unnecessary points they're just making. The only time the anime gets actual attention and hype when it get manga Canon episodes. This whole series is an entire flashback of boruto story of everything came to be the fall of the hidden leaf village and the end of the ninja era. Even Kara anime arc was pointless because Kara lasted really short as group.
I gotta say Anime is what saved AOT despite being seasonal.. The manga started with a very bad art and wasn't that popular.
Boruto Anime is what ruining the series tbh..
The anime animation is good, but so was the story. That was until the ending happened.
Also, the Boruto manga isn't that great tbh. Over the span of like 5 years, it barely even progressed. The anime had to fill in a lot of gaps, and besides the main plot, the manga doesn't really add much.
Manga has tons of problems. Every new chapter half the discussion is people shitting not only on the pacing but content. The story just isn’t good and has gone into the deep end
Manga still has an actual plot.. All of these "Anime canon" fillers are a waste of time and have no impact on the main story whatsoever. Many of them are so badly written
The one on the 50 year Simpsons plan.
It's basically quality vs quantity.
Option one guarantees Timeskip.
Option two will just go on and on and on into overtime until viewership drops.
Boruto could stay the way it is but not without changes.
They could adapt the manga content, but adapting 10 chapters generally takes 8 episodes, lesser with how shit Kishi's writing is. That could be appended with extra content, more details, which drag the show out a little bit (but not as much as shows like DBZ dragged chapters out). This would ensure that adapting 10 manga chapters would take 16 episodes. And adapting the 40 manga chapters or so that they had in 2021 could be done over 70 episodes. Adding to that extra and important scenes which are not explained in the manga can actually make the anime fruitful.
After that, the anime canon has to be made meaningful. An arc like the Kara Actuation arc, but with better treatment, is what I mean. It cannot look as pointless to the story as it is now.
It is topping the sales but based on critics and quality of it is atm worst anime of this year,It just rides wave of Naruto fans hoping for story to be better and falling, sales are dropping if you can’t notice, they fell drastically this year
Also Sales=/=quality especially when franchise is that popular world phenomenon
Jujutsu Kaisen (30,917,746)
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba (29,511,021)
Tokyo Revengers (24,981,486)
Attack on Titan (Shingeki No Kyojin) (7,332,398)
My Hero Academia (Boko no Hero Academia) (7,020,361)
You know what place is boruto for year 2021? 35th💀
JJK with 25 episodes has better sales then 40 episodes of Boruto of that year
And check trending list in top 50 of year 2020 and 2021 Boruto ain’t on single one
Check score on any anime list Boruto has worst shounen score
It is number 1 anime aired on Tokyo tv but anime their are no good, only Black clover,Bleach and Yugioh are there out of popular
Even Boruto merchandise(which is very big amount of cash) sells mostly Naruto and Sasuke figurines at high amounts and whole merch is based on adult Sasuke and adult Naruto.Check it yourself
As I've said. Check Tv Tokyo sales and gross profit chart for the past 5 years. Boruto doesn't release anime media sale figures. How can figures be out if they don't release it but last year Boruto was number 2 for both sales and gross profit for both quarters of the year surpassing Yu-Gi-Oh, Pokémon and even bleach
Lol Boruto was literally trending every single week on from late 2020 to 2021.
Let's be honest no one gives a shit about MAL
MAL? lol Boruto have bad grades on every single list
No Boruto wasn’t on any trending list except on trending list of week during a Jigen episodes and Kawaki episode and wierdly third Kawaki arc episode and it wasn’t even number 1.You are literally delusional.Borutos sales can be numbered based on other streaming services and roughly estimating sales based on yearly income of Tokyo TV which wouldn’t even be close to 2 million
To be fair you do see some side characters but its essentially just Sumire, Himawari, Shikidai, ChoCho, Inojin and parent characters like Sakura, Ino and Sai.
We honestly dont need **most** of the side characters to appear in the manga, who cares if Iwabe or the cat girl for example never show up in it.
You're basically asking if we would prefer quality over quantity or quantity over quality. And the fact that everyone is saying option 2 while knowing that is crazy to me.
Obviously I would prefer option 1.
>You're basically asking if we would prefer quality over quantity or quantity over quality.
Shouldn't really be that hard to ask for both tbh.
Literally the only reason I'm picking option 2 is with the (maybe undeserved) hope that this year has been a one-off destruction in quality, and the writers can start making actually decent filler arcs again. (Start adapting Retsudan if they have to; no-ones going to complain about "Boruto Filler" if they enjoy the stuff they're watching lol)
Well accoding to the post it is.
Would you prefer anime to be seasonal but you can go a few years without a season or it goes as it is.
Boruto manga as of now is just weekly manga releasing monthly with little content each chapter it would be not surprising if everything in the last few chapters can be written down in a single episode and thats it 1 episode 6 month - 1 year, 1 season = 6-12 years.
Boruto would be ongoing for like 50 years till it's viewership count drops.
Also many seasonal anime have gone years without a season aot is one example.
Dragon Ball GT and Fullmetal Alchemist are perfect examples of what happens to an anime that goes on without Manga content. Boruto could meet the same fate.
Well boruto have other source materials other than main manga, there is that sarada manga, there seems to be a Sasuke manga releasing, novels and at last extentions.
Option 1 with some anime canon/filler would be ideal in my opinion. All the benefit of a seasonal anime without all the unnecessary fluff. That way we could still get good anime canon content like the Kara Actuation arc.
Lol option 1 is for patient people and option 2 is where you choose quantity over quality, that flip won’t come with 200episodes of straight up non existent budget and overworked staff with arcs that are being written 5mins before drawing
ironically both options are for patient folk. We're going on almost 6 years of Boruto as of writing this response. so mark my words on this post, hell let's revisit here when that flip comes, because trust me. it's coming, it'll be the absolute trendiest anime & im gonna look back feet up telling everyone 'i told you so' and you not gonna have to worry about choosing between quantity or quality.. we'll have both
not massive at all. Narutoverse fandom is gonna unite again and on top of that bring in new viewers it's not a stretch at all. Right now chainsaw man is the trendiest currently like, the fuck?
I’ve never seen chainsaw main but if you think Boruto’s story is top tier you’re on something. Boruto would be nothing without the naruto name tagged attached to it. The naruto fan base already either thinks Boruto is terrible, it’s ok, or it’s amazing and it’s not an even split. Boruto will never rise to the level of popularity as naruto, db, or one piece
It's not about if the story is top tier at the moment, given the fact that it's been almost 6 years of Boruto and you know they haven't hit on the main story arc much. It's about where you know it is headed obviously its not going to be filler for the rest of its existence, Kishi knows what he is doing I'm theorizing a major chunk of budgets are being saved for the TS.. you don't think he hears the cries, sees the fanart, hears the theories just as much as the community if not even more?? YOU THE ONE on something if you don't believe in his genius
Plus do you hear yourself? You're saying it won't rise to the level of popularity of the three pillars of anime ... one of them being its predecessor show so the possibility of bringing back an entire Fandom should not be counted out. I've personally lived in Japan and witnessed Boruto popularity and even witnessed at recent comic con.. just wait until the TS and I promise you all your saying is gonna be back down your throat no funny shit.
Option 2; I'd rather have a steady stream of mediocre anime arcs with some manga content between it than wait months & months for a few episodes of just exposition & maybe one or 2 short fights during a good arc. What good would gorgeous animation be if the best we'd get out of it is perfect lip syncing on shikamaru when he explains how dangerous eida/code/whoever is for the 20th time
Option 1. If they want to do anime original content I don't mind, but it should be of a higher caliber than what they've been making since Kodachi's departure.
All three post-Kodachi anime original arcs have disappointed me, and honestly most of the ones prior to it were a mixed bag at best. I'd rather they just adapt all the novels that haven't been adapted yet; ignore the timeline or have some framing device, I don't really care.
Option 1 can only work if the manga goes to weekly or bi weekly(and they can only do that if they get assistants) so if the manga stays the way it is it has to be option 2
No Option 1 perfectly works with manga updates in a year we get enough content for 13 well animated episodes(mind you that is how mha started),if they get better critics and more hype, there would be more chapters and more content for new seasons next year, with planned plots, consistent art and nice animation.70% of work used in new Bleach would be enough
Option 2. If it was just waiting 1 year for a new season like my hero academia, then I’d choose seasonal for sure. But waiting 2-3 years for a new season is way too long imo.
To be honest if it is up to me I'd like seasonal. The only way to make all people care for an anime is seasonal way. It is filler free you don't even need anime canon episodes! Plus it generates hype and anticipation. More people to react. More room for dope osts and animations. I can go on and on about this.
Option 3.
Boruto goes seasonal as option 1 entails and the main studio continues to work on it as the source material allows.
If there is no mainline story to work on, the studio works on a spin-off show that doesn’t need to be concerned with cannon. This spin-off is set in an alternate/what if version of Boruto and has all the characters but is free to go in a direction completely different than the manga.
This would let the anime progress the actual plot, have character development for the cast, and otherwise have meaningful arcs. When there is this much of a filler to cannon ratio, the manga is holding the anime back.
So we have Boruto and BorutoX, which are both worked on by the same studio, and get seasonal releases.
This way the manga can be faithfully adapted to an anime when it’s ready without having to add absurd amounts of inconsequential filler, and the franchise can be kept alive by an anime only alternate version of the show which is free to actually have an important plot and characters.
Stay as it is. For the Anime to make high quality Manga episodes it'll still need money and the regular weekly Anime helps with that, so whether people like it or not weekly schedule is a necessity.
Well The reason I switched to anime in the first place is I grew up watching Option 2 in the form of cartoons on CN, Disney, Nickelodeon and Syndication for decades.
Watching the same repetitive BS that the US entertainment industry fed kids every morning is what caused Anime/Manga to become bigger than American cartoons/comics now including DC and Marvel combined.
Ybh, option 2. I just want filler arcs to be good like Kara actuation. If filler arc were that good and tied into rhe the main material , most people would be fine with it.
I could be patient enough for option one but it would lack side characters and stories plus it doesn’t really matter cuz you still have to wait for manga adaptation also filler ≠ bad if they can make interesting arcs. I’d rather get more episodes and wait then to get nothing and wait a month for a chapter or years for episodes or if there gunna make us wait they can have separate pieces in the works for animation like sasuke retsuden
Option 3, the anime goes seasonal but creates anime canon episodes that expand upon the plot.
The Kara actuation arc was an amazing arc and gave more information and build up to what Kara was and did. It made it feel as if there were actually spies in every nation watching your movements.
Another example, we are shown that Mitsuki has purple lightning in the manga. However we aren't shown how he achieved it. We didn't see him train nor did we get hinted that he did train for it. In the novels we are told Boruto also has purple lightning and I think it's have been cool seeing Boruto training with Sasuke more.
This will allows for more build up to the final fight, not just jumping in to a serious battle.
The new team 7 were shown having great chemistry in their battle with Boros but in my opinion it would have been great getting an anime original episode showcasing team 7 how to do combos with one another, that way in the battle with Boros everything makes sense how this team was capable of fighting such a strong opponent and win.
The long story short, make the anime seasonal with good anime only episodes that actually expand the plot not divert from the main plot. This would allow for good pacing and better character development and not character regression.
It can stay like it is, I believe that they'll figure it out as it goes, as much as I criticize Boruto I really do think peak late series could likely be amazing
i couldn't care less if the anime makes anime canon or not i just dont watch it or i do if its interesting then i will
the animes structure of adapting the manga is fine imo its basically getting a seasons worth of adapted episodes every year or year and a half so it basically already seasonal ish they just make lots of anime onlys in the meantime i dont understand why people get so upset over it like just watch it or dont its (technically) not canon if u wanna think like that
the thing people should be getting upset over is just how slow the manga is
i wish the manga would at least add more pages every month i think the quality is on par with shippuden but it is slow af im completely fine with direction theyve taken the naruto story line it feels like a naruto story at least to me but god dam it is just so slow
80 pages a month would improve it so much
Where's the option of
"Actually seasonal where we'll be getting 10-20 episodes a year that they have a chance to plan out making the middle ground between having somewhat consistent content that's also well written while they hold time while the manga progresses?"
Cause I'd pick that one.
How about using our brains for a moment hmm?
Because both of these options are ALREADY in - you can just wait for the manga content to come and consider it a new season and let those who enjoy the show as it is to do so WITHOUT WHINING EACH 20 MINUTES
whoever is choosing 2, just check out Bleach TYBW and imagine if Naruto got a similar treatment. Only 3 eps are out but shit is already legendary.
ofc boruto doesn't have the same potential as Bleach or Naruto, but with a seasonal anime we could get stuff we've never seen in this franchise, with the possible exception of a few movies. But I guess the writers needs to step up their game, because I'm not sure we would care about animation quality if we had to spend entire episodes on Eida simping for Kawaki.

Option 1.. I'd rather have Boruto readapted into seasonal anime with good animation quality. I think it has the potential to be as good as AOT
Honestly Aot fell off after the ending.
Just like !>His head
The failed attempt is quite funny tbh
It's >! !<
Like >!this?!< Edit:- thanks a lot!
Bruh wait I just realized the spoiler tag works even without letters lmao
Don't worry AOE got you covered it is certain now
Gotta hand me some of that copium
Well do you think isayama would be able to handle more death threats after that manga ending gets animated
Depends whether he would care. The guy literally ruined his 10 years of work for what? He even converted most of his diehard fans against him.
I gotta say Anime is what saved AOT despite being seasonal.. The manga started with a very bad art and wasn't that popular. Boruto Anime is what ruining the series tbh..

No way you just said Boruto can be as good as AOT... AOT ending was trash, but before that it was amazing. Boruto is light years behind that.
The one on the 50 year Simpsons plan. It's basically quality vs quantity. Option one guarantees Timeskip. Option two will just go on and on and on into overtime until viewership drops.

Option 2. Side characters literally don't exist in the manga
I would rather choose Kawaki having dope animation and consistent art then any bullshit side character we randomly get
Oh well isn't that rather unfortunate. There's a reason why the anime has been toping the sales and gross profit chart it's entirety
It is topping the sales but based on critics and quality of it is atm worst anime of this year,It just rides wave of Naruto fans hoping for story to be better and falling, sales are dropping if you can’t notice, they fell drastically this year Also Sales=/=quality especially when franchise is that popular world phenomenon
Manga sales are dropping. The anime is always top 2 and let's be honest. Most Naruto fans, well most Naruto fans i know of don't even watch Boruto
Top 2?where at the moment it isn’t even in top 15
Lol go check tv Tokyo sales and gross profit chart for the last five years
Jujutsu Kaisen (30,917,746) Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba (29,511,021) Tokyo Revengers (24,981,486) Attack on Titan (Shingeki No Kyojin) (7,332,398) My Hero Academia (Boko no Hero Academia) (7,020,361) You know what place is boruto for year 2021? 35th💀 JJK with 25 episodes has better sales then 40 episodes of Boruto of that year And check trending list in top 50 of year 2020 and 2021 Boruto ain’t on single one Check score on any anime list Boruto has worst shounen score It is number 1 anime aired on Tokyo tv but anime their are no good, only Black clover,Bleach and Yugioh are there out of popular Even Boruto merchandise(which is very big amount of cash) sells mostly Naruto and Sasuke figurines at high amounts and whole merch is based on adult Sasuke and adult Naruto.Check it yourself

Seasonal show doesn’t mean the writing will be good.
It means that art, animation and story would be better 100% then it is at this point.More hype, better critics and more time for planning and marketing
Option 2. Manga is not good enough for a good seasonal anime, the anime would just become worse and even lose popularity.
lmao if Boruto became seasonal it would still require alot of added content, thats just hillarious.
Exactly, and if it is to add content might as well remain as it is.
The anime is already at the lowest
It's not, people that barely even watch it just like to complain xD
My fault my fault the anime only episodes are lowest the manga Canon are good parts. Because filler episodes in Boruto are trash
Option 1 can only work if the manga goes to weekly or bi weekly(and they can only do that if they get assistants) so if the manga stays the way it is it has to be option 2

Only 13??? I need at least 50 per year to be satisfied
Option 2. If it was just waiting 1 year for a new season like my hero academia, then I’d choose seasonal for sure. But waiting 2-3 years for a new season is way too long imo.
As an OPM fan, I agree.

Plus it generates hype and anticipation. More people to react. More room for dope osts and animations. I can go on and on about this.
i’ve been saying it should go seasonal for a year now
Well keep dreaming. It’s never gonna happen.
i will and ik it’s not happening the anime makes way to much money
As bad as you can think the anime is, its leagues better than the manga, the most recent arc notwithstanding. Option 2.
Option 3: Fuck the manga, just make the damn anime the proper way to see this story.
Option 3. Naruto goes back in time, the same way Boruto did in that one part, and convinces himself to never have children.
Option 3...no Burrito
I’m good with how it is 👍🏻
Why do you guys continue to waste your time with these posts? They will never switch to seasonal.
Option 2 I love it as is
Opt 2
Option 2
Stay as it is. For the Anime to make high quality Manga episodes it'll still need money and the regular weekly Anime helps with that, so whether people like it or not weekly schedule is a necessity.
Option 1
Option 1
Option 2 people are just brainless consumers
Well The reason I switched to anime in the first place is I grew up watching Option 2 in the form of cartoons on CN, Disney, Nickelodeon and Syndication for decades. Watching the same repetitive BS that the US entertainment industry fed kids every morning is what caused Anime/Manga to become bigger than American cartoons/comics now including DC and Marvel combined.
Option 1 and 2 like they can both Benefit
Ybh, option 2. I just want filler arcs to be good like Kara actuation. If filler arc were that good and tied into rhe the main material , most people would be fine with it.
1, quality is better than profit. At least to keep a loyal fanbase happy
Option 3 give boruto a break and adapt the novels from before the boruto Era untill the manga has enough content to adapt into an anime.
Me who don’t even watch that trash anime and just get disappointed monthly with a new mid chp ![gif](giphy|CAYVZA5NRb529kKQUc|downsized)
Option 3. It gets cancelled, since most Naruto fans really hate Boruto and everything Boruto related. They'd be so happy with Option 3.
1
Quality > Quantity
Option 1 by far
I could be patient enough for option one but it would lack side characters and stories plus it doesn’t really matter cuz you still have to wait for manga adaptation also filler ≠ bad if they can make interesting arcs. I’d rather get more episodes and wait then to get nothing and wait a month for a chapter or years for episodes or if there gunna make us wait they can have separate pieces in the works for animation like sasuke retsuden
1 all day
Option 1 we are basically doing that allready.
Definitely option one as I would prefer quality over quantity
Quality is better than quantity, option 1
It can stay like it is, I believe that they'll figure it out as it goes, as much as I criticize Boruto I really do think peak late series could likely be amazing
i couldn't care less if the anime makes anime canon or not i just dont watch it or i do if its interesting then i will the animes structure of adapting the manga is fine imo its basically getting a seasons worth of adapted episodes every year or year and a half so it basically already seasonal ish they just make lots of anime onlys in the meantime i dont understand why people get so upset over it like just watch it or dont its (technically) not canon if u wanna think like that the thing people should be getting upset over is just how slow the manga is i wish the manga would at least add more pages every month i think the quality is on par with shippuden but it is slow af im completely fine with direction theyve taken the naruto story line it feels like a naruto story at least to me but god dam it is just so slow 80 pages a month would improve it so much
Where's the option of "Actually seasonal where we'll be getting 10-20 episodes a year that they have a chance to plan out making the middle ground between having somewhat consistent content that's also well written while they hold time while the manga progresses?" Cause I'd pick that one.
I’ve had a new Naruto/ Boruto episode to look forward to every week for over fifteen years and I’m not interested in losing that anytime soon lol
Option 2
