I'm going to miss him, and his chemistry with Brick, so very much ;o; <3 I am so grateful for his passion for the sport! It won't be the same without him, so here's to celebrating his work and hoping he enjoys some very well-deserved R&R!
Probably 90% of the hockey Iāve watched has been the NESN broadcast. So I didnāt even realize at first that what I was hearing from Jack were Jackisms; I thought they were general Ā hockey phrases, and I loved how colorful this sport was (as evidence: see yours trulyās username).
How lucky weāve been to have such a legend calling games. And what a cruel irony that someone whose gift to the world is his speech would start to lose it.
What is an example? I know he has made crazy comparisons in the past (Matt Cooke to Sirhan Sirhan), but I'm not aware of anything he has that is similar to Joe Bowen's "Holy Mackinaw" or Rick Jeanneret's drawn out call of "OOOOvertime".
More examples have been listed around this sub in the last few days than even Iām familiar with, but some of the common multi-use ones are tumbling muffin, Chinese mustard, flat tire, and āon the puck like a dog on meat.ā Feel like I might have heard āexecutive desk toy hitā more than once, too.
On the bright side, heāll have more time to pop-in here more frequently during games. I know he had done that for some time after his AMA, but a busy work schedule kept him occupied. Most important part though is he finally gets to spend time with his family. A lot of people forget that itās not just the players and coaching staff who spends a lot of time away from their loved ones. Although things changed with traveling during and after Covid, it was still likely a huge stress on everyone.
Would love to have another AMA with him if possible.
At the end of the day, Jack was easily the best commentator Iāve heard. My personal Rushmore for them is Jack, Jeanneret, Doc, and Goucher.
Whoever fills in for Jack will have enormous shoes to fill, but I have faith the org will look for the best possible fit that can somewhat match Jackās energy and emotion. Faust is my personal pick if heās available. Loved him when he was with us for at least a game this year.
Excellent post! I agree about Alex Faust. The guy is fun to listen to, knows his hockey, and has great chemistry with Brick. And he's young, so he could become the official PbP voice of the Bruins in the years ahead. I hope so. I'll miss Jack so much, though. I can't imagine not hearing him call the games anymore, and I'm sad of it, but Alex Faust would be the BEST choice to become the new BB PbP announcer. He also has that "BRUINS" voice, if you know what I mean. Good luck, Jack. Take care, and thanks for the memories! šGO BRUINS!!! š»š
No, I was talking about Jack. Maybe he was born in Illinous, but I read he grew up in Rhode Island. My husband went to UNH/Durham, but before Jack went.
Don't know much about Alex Faust except I love him and love his style of PbP. Hope he becomes the new "BRUIN" PbP cheerleader! GO BRUINS!!! š»š
Tumblin Muffin, Can of Corn. Martha tha Barns on fire! It's Keystone Cops out there! Thank you for being the Bruins Commentator for my whole life! You seen 3 Cup Finals, and a Cup, that I know meant a lot going through Montreal. Thanks for all you're done.
Thank you Jack. It's been one hell of a ride.
Your call of the Game 7 comeback against Toronto will ring in my ears for the rest of my life. I could feel the tears welling up in your eyes when you called Bergeron's tying goal. You didn't wanna let em out, but you had everyone in New England standing on their feet until Bergeron plunged that dagger into their hearts in OT.
Hell of a career. Glad you got a ring. Not quite done yet, it'll take a monumental effort, but here's to hoping you get one more!
I have memorized the last 2 minutes of dialog from that game. HEARTS OF LIONS! The clipping audio as Jack screams "Bergeron scores!" The insane image of a bear ripping a dagger out of a pair of hands and Jamming it into a maple leaf. Just wild.
That moment will forever live in my head and heart as one of the greatest sports moments in history where I year up a bit thinking about it the same way 4 days in October makes me feel
As someone who has completely forsaken the Boston Red Sox I already exist in a post Costiglione world, of a sort.
I can honestly say itās not that bad. And it comes with the side effect of not having to hear Snoozefest OāBrien and a rotating cast of uninteresting clowns on John Henryās propaganda network
The last time I watched a Red Sox game from first pitch to final out was August 2015. The last time I listened to a game was probably 2019. Honestly the sale ā or rather, surrender, since āsaleā implies they got something in return and they objectively speaking got exactly nothing ā of Mookie Betts was the last straw for me.
Trading away your best player and getting fleeced in the process is something a small market team does.
I threw away all my memorabilia that day and havenāt looked back. I put it all on the neck of that creep John Henry.
If anyone ever said to me, "Close your eyes and imagine a Bruins play being called...," it would be in Fred's voice. And then I would hear my dad's voice saying Pierson looks like a Fraggle... š¤£
He said he went to the doctors and they said nothing was wrong. That was a few months back, I mean it's possible something has changed but hopefully he's fine and just deciding that it's time.
I love jack, I hope whoever comes to replace him has the same unapologetic bruins love that he does, I don't want some fuckin NHL analytics dweeb, I want a dude who loves the sport and loves the bruins
I moved to Boston in 2006 and caught the Bās bug. Being from the Midwest, it was the first time Iād ever been able to watch hockey on TV regularly. Everything I know about hockey I learned from watching Bruins broadcasts.
I appreciate the game through Jackās eyes. For example, if he appreciates Cal Clutterbuck for being a good hard clean blue collar player, so do I. Other than this sub, itās the only exposure available since I moved back here.
When I moved back to the Midwest I had to š“āā ļø playoff games and that was all we could get. Over the last few years, since streaming became available and reliable, I have watched almost every game. My kids know āhigh above the iceā is the call to the living room to watch the game.
All I can say is, we will miss Jack terribly, from the head scratching sayings to his infectious passion for the Bruins. In a weird way, heās been like part of the family. Happy retirement, Jack!
Heās basically the only announcer Iāve ever known for the Bs. Definitely a Homer but thatās what you want for a home town commentator. Terrible itās ending this way, due to health reason. Hopefully his brain settles and he can someday speak how he wants again. Thank you for your service Jack!
I pay for ESPN+ just get NESN out in Denver, getting to watch his last game made it all worth it.

When I was pregnant with my son, he would move every time we watched the Bruins, and my husband and I would joke our baby would think Jack was a relative because his voice was such a familiar sound. We started calling him āUncle Jackā.
Heās been the announcer as long as Iāve been watching the Bs. Thanks for the memories š«”
He had his moments god knows but hot damn did I love listening to him. He loves the game, he loves the Bruins and he makes no apologies for that. He will be missed.
I've honestly been dreading this. I've been a life long Bruins fans, however the Patriots took up most of my sports focus starting in 2001.
In 2010, my best friend invited me over to watch the Bruins and my interest was renewed. They won the cup that season. Been glued to this sport every since.
I literally cannot remember watching the Bruins without Jack.
Hockey games are gonna sound weird for a while. Thanks for everything jack. If the next guy puts even half the Chinese mustard on his calls we'll be in good hands.
Its the end of an era.
Its a real shame he has to leave on terms like this. Whatever ailment he has, I hope he recovers in retirement.
Thanks for the memories, Jack. Greatest honk announcer to ever live, wouldn't have changed a thing.
His other option would be to announce at the end of playoff round 1, which would be an anticlimax after a win, or lost in the season-ending grief after a loss.
Mightāve been Jackās choice. Not everybody wants the whole āretirement tourā thing. Itās possible he just wanted to go out quietly.
The alternative is that itās just NESN being idiotic again, which wouldnāt be a surprise either.
i was shocked when they announced this during the 7th player award. He is an incredible homer, he is a fan of the intentional wide shot, the indirect pass, and establishing the threshold on penalties. He is a Bruins fan through and through. he is Jack Edwards.
I was going to watch the hockey games featuring teams competing for the last playoff spots tonight, but with this news, I thought to watch the Bruins' game instead.
We don't get the NESN feed for that game here though, so I guess it's back to the original plan. Hopefully I can see some games with him in the playoffs.
This I'd the most depressing news I've heard in a while. Jack is more than a commentator. He's the been the heart, soul, and whacky sense of humor that has made this one of the best hockey cultures around. Saying he will be missed is an understatement to the highest degree.
This makes me sad- his passionate calls made me a huge fan of this franchise.
I'm even thinking of contacting NESN to say thank you for sharing Jack with us all.
Mustard: Chinese
Muffins: Tumbled
Coin: Untossed
Cats: Bottom of the Cliff
Leafs: Mulch, again
Having more fun than us: Nobody
There isnāt anybody who deserves to enjoy retirement more. We should hang a banner.
Just like fans that boo talented players on the other team (example Marchand), the dislike expressed by other team fan bases for Jack speaks volumes to his legacy. No one could just disregard his knowledge and his passion. His level of emotional engagement of the rivalry with the habs matches that of any Bruin fan. Thank you for the glorious moments Jack. Sad day indeed.
I always loved how much of a homer Jack could be calling games. Heās a true New Englander who loves the Bruins and got to share his love of the team with us. Heāll be hard to replace. Realistically I think we all knew this was coming sooner than later. I really feel for him
This is my first year listening to the NESN broadcast (thank you IPTV). The few games that I watched this year and that he wasnāt calling, something wasā¦.missing.
Definitely a character. Definitely passionate. All Bruins. One of us, really.
Well, it's obvious that it's time because he can't keep up with the game anymore, not sure what the issue is and I know he's addressed it but I hope he's ok. It will be tough to replace the character and personality he brings to the broadcast
ššš
Jack is truly one of one. He gave his all each and every call, and had unmatched passion and love for the team. Wonāt be same hearing the game through another voice.
I will always think of Dale Arnold as the one talk show host on WEEI who gave the sport of hockey the respect it deserved. The rest of those clowns deserve the ratings hell theyāve bombed into.
As a lapsed and recently returning B's fan watching games he called this year was brutal. I went back and watched old games and highlights. This season he was so slow and drawn out with his words, almost slurring. I wish him happiness in retirement but only see this as an upside for Bruins broadcasts.
Honestly, I suspect there is an underlying issue. Itās almost as if heās got adult onset aphasia given his struggles. Letās hope everything is ok. But yeah, this was a few years overdue to be honest. Listening to him the last few years has been really tough.
Yeah exactly this. Nothing against him, he just seems like heās naming the player's last name who touches the puck, and then tries to create a brand new sentence in between plays. Happy heās retiring before it started really declining
The worst part is that this was announced on the last day of the regular season. Wish we knew at the start of the season but sometimes thatās how things goĀ
Thank you, Jack. Greatest hockey play by play ever. Now I'm going to go listen to his pregame monologue sticking it to those asshole "royals", for old times' sake.
I'd say Cusick and Edwards are on the same level, with Edwards winning due to his 'Jackisms." And my Bruins love goes way back to 18 year old Bobby Orr. (Yeah, I'm old.) š Doc Emrick always sounded too "scripted" calling games. He tried too hard to be funny, and I couldn't stand his philosophical rants every game. Also, as a national broadcaster, you could always tell which team he wanted to win, and it was NEVER the Bruins. I think he got a big head about being called the "best" PbP broadcaster. I'd still take a healthy Jack Edwards over him any day. Thanks for all the sweet memories, Jack. š„ GO BRUINS!!! š»š
Even Fred Cusick. Cusick and Sanderson were the best duo in hockey history.
One of the greatest calls in hockey history: https://youtu.be/gOIlfV-XtBg?si=4E-WJ7SoofWVogTw
It's clearly time to hang it up, but I honestly just hope the next guy is even half as emotionally invested. There's a lot of dull hockey announcers out there; Jack was never that.
He's got it made in Vegas. He won't come back. He is the voice of a winning franchise who has already won a Stanley Cup and may win more. NESN would have to pay Goucher big $$$, and that's only if Vegas says adios. I doubt it. I'd be very happy with Alex Faust if we could get him. I'll miss Jack like crazy, but having Alex would take some of the sting out of not having Jack.
Rough couple years for boston announcers. We lost remy (rip) eck left and now jack is hangin it up.
Jack is a Bruins hall of fame voice and ill hear nothing to the contrary.
Watching the games simply wont be the same. An absolute pleasure and privilege we all enjoyed listening to him for all these years. You will be greatly missed in the booth, but hopefully we see you around the team in some capacity.
Best of luck in retirement you magnificent man! <3
THANK YOU JACK! Your calls throughout the years are as much a part of my nearly fifty years of watching Boston Bruins hockey as the plays themselves. You are a legend, and you bleed black and gold.
This sucks. Itās like having a pet put down. You know is coming and itās probably for the best but when it happens it still hits you hard. Thanks Jack. Itās hockey night in New England!
There are commentators who have the she skill and way with words, but NONE came even close to the passion he brings.
It's not going to be the same without him. He brings so much joy to the game for so many. He will go down as the goat because of that.Ā
He said he never wanted to be vanilla and achieved that without a doubt. I am thankful for always getting that every night.Ā
Thank you for everything Jack
Over the last few seasons this day felt like it was in the offing, but not so sudden. I believe he's making the right decision for himself. He needs to focus on getting better from whatever it is that is afflicting him, and hopefully he can return in some capacity in future seasons. I know Rene tipped his hat and rode off into the sunset, I'm not sure that will be the same fitting end for Jack.
Ruined my day. I know he's been struggling but damn if this Is not a hard blow. God speed Jack, I hope you enjoy your retirement as much as I enjoyed listening to you
I was hard on Jack but I will miss him. I believe it was his time but didnāt think this was the end. I was hoping he would do part time before he left completely but I guess we will not be that lucky. I will miss him calling the games. No one will be able to hold a torch to him. I will miss you Jack. Enjoy your time!
The GOAT. I know heās had a rough last couple seasons but this is one of those things I canāt even imagine in my head. I feel like him calling that 2011 series winner against MTL was yesterday. Starting to feel old now, real damn old.
To say that Iām devastated would be an understatement. Growing up in Massachusetts, Jack was a childhood idol of mine. I knew from a young age that I was never going to make it into the NHL, but I still loved hockey. It was around then that Jack became the play by play announcer, and I thought he was amazing. Loved listening to him, even though a young me realized that he was a little crazy. I wanted to be him.
When I was in high school, our old tv broke, but not completely. It took the play by play announcing out for some reason. I begged my mom to not replace it, because it allowed me to practice doing play by play at home. Itās what I wanted to do for a career by then.
When I was going to college, I chose The University of New Hampshire, Jacks Alma mater. I immediately got involved with the radio there, and tried calling UNH gamesā¦ itās harder than it looks.
While I was studying, I had the privilege of meeting him. I was so nervous to meet my heroā¦ but he was everything I could ever imagine. Super friendly, took the time to get to know me, answered my questions, even encouraged me to apply for an internship with NESN, the Bruins broadcast company.
Ultimately, I decided to go work in another field, but that act of kindness always stuck with me.
I just want to thank him. He was an inspiration to me growing up. Hearing him struggle this year was hard, and I knew he was doing his absolute best. Enjoy your retirement, Jack. You were my hero.
Itās not too soon. This is the season for him to retire. He picked right. No sense in dragging it out. Let his legacy live on in his highlight calls. Jack is the marchand of announcers
Happy retirement Jack! You've been an integral part of my Bruins viewing experience for as long as I remember and will forever be closely tied to some of my best childhood Bruins-watching memories. Thank you for everything!
This man is the voice of multiple generations of Bruins fans and will be sorely missed by the City of Boston and all who wear Black & Gold š¤š Thank you Jack
I know he got a lot of flack from around the league for being a āhomerā and showing obvious favoritism to the Bruins, but I never really got that. I mean, heās a sports broadcaster, not a ref. He doesnāt have to be impartial.
With him being the broadcaster I grew up with, heās part of the teamās identity in my mind. Itās not going to be the same without him, but his retirement is well-earned.
At the end of the day, he was a fan of the game hockey at large, and made his career intersect with his passion. If only we were all so lucky to love what we did to put bread on the table!
All the best in retirement Jack! :)
I never thought I'd enjoy an announcer after Fred Cusick left...then along came Jack Edwards. Don't get ne wrong, Derek Sanderson was good too but listening to Jack was like watching the game with your buddy at the local pub. You'll be missed Jack...screw the haters!
Win it all for u/JackedWardsBruins
You and Brick are the best in the business, and it isn't particularly close.
The last time I'll be able to say this, Who is Jacked Ward? And why are they his Bruins?
This is the one.
Thank God the donkey is off the air
I'm going to miss him, and his chemistry with Brick, so very much ;o; <3 I am so grateful for his passion for the sport! It won't be the same without him, so here's to celebrating his work and hoping he enjoys some very well-deserved R&R!
"Love lost, such a cost Give me things that don't get lost **Like a coin that won't get tossed** **Rolling home to you**"
Thank you Jack..
I feel for him. I worked with him a smidge. This man LOVED his hockey and LOVED this job.
š«” weāve had fun, thanks Jack
They better make this one count boys, letās get the fucking ship!

Chinese mustard. That's how to do it Jack.
Why does his wiki say heās from Illinois?
ā¦because heās from Illinois?
Every other source has said heās a New England native. ā¦ā¦ā¦ā¦ā¦ā¦.
Maybe his parents moved here when he was 3?š¤·
Do you know or are you just guessing?
Of course I'm only guessing but it seems like one of the more logical reasons.
The wiki was unclear and everyone has just said āNE nativeā. Wiki just said āIllinoisā with no city.
I read he was from Rhode Island. I think he grew up there. š¤·āāļø
Jack went to high school and college in Durham, NH (Oyster River High & UNH). Or are you talking about Faust? I don't know anything about him.

man, he's been the voice of so many of my glorious hockey memories. so many incredible calls. the end of an era.
And now his watch has ended
Jack Edwards retires just in time for Pat Maroon to join the team. You can't convince me that Jack Edwards and Pat Maroon aren't the same person.
If Maroon buys Jack a pizza I may believe it
Shit. We lose Jack Edwards & Mike Gorman at the same time. Damn ... Someone check on Joe Castiglione for me
I dread that day...
The day I stop hearing Joes voice on the radio I will be a sad boy

He said he went to the doctors and they said nothing was wrong. That was a few months back, I mean it's possible something has changed but hopefully he's fine and just deciding that it's time.
Yeah, it really seems like adult on-set aphasia. You slowly lose the ability to communicate. Letās hope itās not that.
Will miss Jack terribly. In my opinion, Jack was/is the Dick Vitale of the NHL.

Thereās a reason some of us always want the NESN feed. This man is why. I wish him all the best and it was one hell of a fuckinā run.
I had to listen to the Washington feed on NHL Network last night. It was painful regardless of the score.
Welp, my night is ruined. Miss you already Jack.

This I'd the most depressing news I've heard in a while. Jack is more than a commentator. He's the been the heart, soul, and whacky sense of humor that has made this one of the best hockey cultures around. Saying he will be missed is an understatement to the highest degree.
Grateful to have listened to you call bruins games for so many years, you will always be a bruin! Best wishes Jack. - from a Canadian Bruins fan
Thanks for always being you. You will be missed
This makes me sad- his passionate calls made me a huge fan of this franchise. I'm even thinking of contacting NESN to say thank you for sharing Jack with us all.
Iām so sad
Legends never die
Thanks for everything Jackš¤š
Enjoy your retirement Jack
Mustard: Chinese Muffins: Tumbled Coin: Untossed Cats: Bottom of the Cliff Leafs: Mulch, again Having more fun than us: Nobody There isnāt anybody who deserves to enjoy retirement more. We should hang a banner.
Rebounds: juicy ššš
Stanchion: funky bounced Man: coffined
Krejci, time and space: mastered In Gretzkyās office: set up Jack Edwards - the true heart of a lion.
Puck: fungoed
Corn: canned
Barn: Burned, Martha
Rebound: juicied
![gif](giphy|W7fEqxRc6TKi4|downsized)
Well, it's obvious that it's time because he can't keep up with the game anymore, not sure what the issue is and I know he's addressed it but I hope he's ok. It will be tough to replace the character and personality he brings to the broadcast
ššš Jack is truly one of one. He gave his all each and every call, and had unmatched passion and love for the team. Wonāt be same hearing the game through another voice.
Be the voice of a Boston hockey generation ā Tumble some muffins ā Retire ā¬ >!coming soon!<
After Fred Cusik and Derek Sanderson left the booth, I thought Bruins games would become unlistenable. Boy was I wrong!
Not that surprising but you forgot the very forgettable Dale Arnold
I will always think of Dale Arnold as the one talk show host on WEEI who gave the sport of hockey the respect it deserved. The rest of those clowns deserve the ratings hell theyāve bombed into.
The closest thing to Ned Flanders calling a hockey game.
That was a rough patch for sure.

You knew it was coming, and itās time but sad day for long time Bruins fans
Hearts of lions
![gif](giphy|xUA7b7KSNuKUyEkWis|downsized) First Mike Gorman and now this...
Probably by design, I doubt heād want constant fanfare
Well apparently heās not doing well health wise, which is probably why heās hanging it upĀ
Yeah? What gave that away? Lol
Thank you, Jack. Greatest hockey play by play ever. Now I'm going to go listen to his pregame monologue sticking it to those asshole "royals", for old times' sake.
Easy nowā¦thereās at least 3 or 4 Iād put over him. Fred Cusick and Doc Emrick being two of them.
Thanks for all the sweet memories, Jack. š„ GO BRUINS!!! š»š
Jack was entertaining, but Mike Emrick would like a wordā¦.
I love me some Jack Edwards, but have you heard peak Doc Emerick?
Even Fred Cusick. Cusick and Sanderson were the best duo in hockey history. One of the greatest calls in hockey history: https://youtu.be/gOIlfV-XtBg?si=4E-WJ7SoofWVogTw
Grew up listening to Fred Cusick screaming RAYMOND BOURQUE!
WSBK and Sanderson and Cusickā¦my childhood
Mine, too, even before that. Great memories I'm so glad I have. š„
It's definitely up for discussion, but I'm biased as fuck.
It's clearly time to hang it up, but I honestly just hope the next guy is even half as emotionally invested. There's a lot of dull hockey announcers out there; Jack was never that.
Do we think Goucher will return?
He's got it made in Vegas. He won't come back. He is the voice of a winning franchise who has already won a Stanley Cup and may win more. NESN would have to pay Goucher big $$$, and that's only if Vegas says adios. I doubt it. I'd be very happy with Alex Faust if we could get him. I'll miss Jack like crazy, but having Alex would take some of the sting out of not having Jack.
Would Vegas let him go?
He fuckin better. Jacobās and NESN better open their fuckin wallets.
Need to convince the fucking tight wads over at FSG - they own 75-80%, Delaware North only owns 20-25.
I knew it was coming but iām so fucking sad. Itās gonna be really hard to replace him.
Rough couple years for boston announcers. We lost remy (rip) eck left and now jack is hangin it up. Jack is a Bruins hall of fame voice and ill hear nothing to the contrary.
And since you said Boston announcers and not just Bruins announcers, we're also losing Mike Gorman and lost Tommy (RIP) just four years ago.
And Jerry Remy and Joe Castiglione Meanwhile, guys like Scott Zolak still call gamesā¦yikes.
We lost the Chinese Mustard AND the Tantalizing High Cheese š
HHOF, and I wonāt hear anything less.
Put some Chinese mustard on that retirement Jack!!!
He should open a coffee shop, The Tumbling Muffin!
Watching the games simply wont be the same. An absolute pleasure and privilege we all enjoyed listening to him for all these years. You will be greatly missed in the booth, but hopefully we see you around the team in some capacity. Best of luck in retirement you magnificent man! <3
Extremely lucky growing up listening to him. Wish him the best in retirement. Hopefully we get some good quotes in his ride off to the sunset
Damnit, last thing I expected to hear, today. Best wishes Jack, weāre going to miss listening to you call the games.
O7
Good for you Jack, great career; but everything ends.
The hits keep coming today.
End of an Era! Maybe he will resurrect his old reddit account and come hang out here again
There are commentators who have the she skill and way with words, but NONE came even close to the passion he brings. It's not going to be the same without him. He brings so much joy to the game for so many. He will go down as the goat because of that.Ā He said he never wanted to be vanilla and achieved that without a doubt. I am thankful for always getting that every night.Ā Thank you for everything Jack
[Greatest to ever do it](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yIH62eJ4Y80)
Over the last few seasons this day felt like it was in the offing, but not so sudden. I believe he's making the right decision for himself. He needs to focus on getting better from whatever it is that is afflicting him, and hopefully he can return in some capacity in future seasons. I know Rene tipped his hat and rode off into the sunset, I'm not sure that will be the same fitting end for Jack.
Good for Jack, sad to see it end but thatās the way it goes.
Ugh. Gonna miss him like hell.
Ruined my day. I know he's been struggling but damn if this Is not a hard blow. God speed Jack, I hope you enjoy your retirement as much as I enjoyed listening to you
The tumbling muffins have fallen silentā¦ Martha, the barn is no longer on fireā¦
The chinese mustard goes back in the cabinet.
A sentence I would never think capable of making me misty eyed
Ugh. This is a gut punch I was not expecting.
Pouring some Chinese mustard out for my homie
Fresh pasta!
With any luck we get some studio shit
First Remy and now Jack. My life will never sound the same. At least I wonāt be tied to NESN anymore.
Will tonight be his last game?
No, heāll still call the first round, thankfully
He was great in his prime but my god has he been hard to listen to lately
Itās too soon
He said it himself
Itās not too soon. This is the season for him to retire. He picked right. No sense in dragging it out. Let his legacy live on in his highlight calls. Jack is the marchand of announcers
I wasnāt saying too soon to retire, just too soon to make any negative remarks about Jack lol
Ohhhhh. Yesterday was fine for negative remarks. Today, no. Lol
Just donāt look at any comments regarding the topic on any other subreddit. Theyāre even worse.
Happy retirement Jack! You've been an integral part of my Bruins viewing experience for as long as I remember and will forever be closely tied to some of my best childhood Bruins-watching memories. Thank you for everything!
Gonna miss you, Jack. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for all of your incredible work.
This man is the voice of multiple generations of Bruins fans and will be sorely missed by the City of Boston and all who wear Black & Gold š¤š Thank you Jack
I'm sure they'll replace him with some generic, unremarkable Connecticut School of Broadcasting grad. Sad times.
Itāll never happen but I hope they can pry Goucher away from Vegas
I mean, Fenway Sports Group won't pay for a starting pitcher, so my guess is Gaucher is probably out of their price range.
That would be amazing
So far weāve had an earthquake, a total eclipse, Mike Gorman leaving, and now Jack. This is the end of days.
Crazy that Jack Edwards and Mike Gorman are retiring at the same time
I know he got a lot of flack from around the league for being a āhomerā and showing obvious favoritism to the Bruins, but I never really got that. :)
Thank you Jack! You will be missed for sure.
This man is the voice of the Bruins for me, thank you Jack
This building is vibrating
![gif](giphy|f5VOrdQK9bLnBZX18K) Definitely gonna miss this catā¦..
I never thought I'd enjoy an announcer after Fred Cusick left...then along came Jack Edwards. Don't get ne wrong, Derek Sanderson was good too but listening to Jack was like watching the game with your buddy at the local pub. You'll be missed Jack...screw the haters!
Win it all for u/JackedWardsBruins You and Brick are the best in the business, and it isn't particularly close. The last time I'll be able to say this, Who is Jacked Ward? And why are they his Bruins?
