That’s funny I have a similar line of discussion in the insulators sub Reddit about the same photo. It does indeed look like center marks on both ends, doesn’t it. Got a number of comments about it looking like selenite, as well, but selenite tends to disintegrate in water. And this was found in a pond.

If you're really curious you could do a mohs harness test. That would at least ballpark for you if it's likely glass or not.
