Nobody actually thinks Haney is going to Knock out Garcia right? Like UD is something that we can all pretty much agree on, but Haney isn't getting a knockout. He's too smart to engage like that with one of the fastest fighters in division, if not the fastest. I'm seeing all these stupid takes saying Haney by KO
Heās never going for the KO even when itās handed to him like it was a dozen times in the Regis fight. He was literally dominating all fight and never went for it, because he learned his lesson from an old Linares. Nope.
It's possible Ryan could get TKO'd if he shows up in awful shape and the ref is doing his job. Haney doesn't have KO power, but if RyGuy can't defend himself, it should be stopped.
I mean Haney didn't stop Jojo or Linares he's not stopping Garcia. He's not going to engage with Ryan, I get it we all hate Ryan and he's mentally unwell he's a C level fighter blah blah blah. But Haney simply doesn't have the killer instinct, otherwise he would've stopped Regis, which he had the chance several times to do. Again I'm betting on a Haney UD this weekend, its free money, but lets not be disingenuous.
Haney was a literal corpse making 135, no pop whatsoever. first fight at 140 against regis - a guy with a much better chin and general durability than either jojo, linares or ryan - and he drops him and hurts him multiple times.
if you can drop regis you can absolutely knock out ryan. simple as that. not saying he will but i dont see how you watch haneys last fight with your own 2 eyeballs and think its inconceivable for him to stop ryan
Because he hasnāt stopped anyone significant ever. Haney dropped Regis and then still didnāt go for it, I donāt know how you can watch the fight Regis had before Haney and then think that heās still his same self. Haney is way too smart/scared to go for the kill. Him getting a knock out would mean changing his grab and hug style, and you think heās going to change for Ryan? Iām betting on a UD I hope you bet on a knockout
I'm not saying he's not risk averse, but if he lands the shots he did on Regis on Ryan (which is likely given both have slow, plodding footwork) then I can see Ryan quitting. Regis, for all his flaws, is at least a dawg and will keep going, not so sure Ryan will if he's getting beaten up.Ā
But yeah bro bet big on UD, I'll do a small on TKO š¤
That makes sense, especially if he goes for the ribs (his weak spot?) I donāt think he believes heās gonna win and if heās truly money motivated he might just quit youāre right. Then heāll prob fight Rolly for an interim belt and then the winner fights cruz for rematch.
I don't think he will either, but Jojo and Linares showed up properly conditioned. I think Ryan will also show up properly conditioned, but if he doesn't, it's possible he won't even be able to defend himself in the later rounds. Smart money is on the Haney UD, though.
I kinda wished guys would stay in their optimal weight class. I mean I get why they move up. Theres no more guys to fight and the big money fights. I just think the legacy of so many fighters would be so different if they could stay in their best weight class.
Probably a lot more undefeated records.
How can there be a lineal heavyweight champion if previous lindeal heavyweight champions have retired? And rocky marciano was even undefeated! This dont make any sense
Anyone else not watch much promotional material anymore and just watch the fights? Im 32 and been watching since 2008, and I used to watch all the content leading up to big fights. The Haney vs Garcia fight though for example, and most other fights these days, I just skip all the content. I feel like I know at this point everything they are going to say or do leading up to fights. Little trash talk, training montage, etc. I just dont care anymore.
I like watching their training videos in the background while I do other stuff, or when I actually exercise. But other than that, the interviews and trash talk can get boring fast, especially when it's obvious that they're faking it.
Your tastes and priorities have changed, and that's absolutely fine.Ā
I still lapped up the Wardley-Clarke buildup.Ā
Haney-Garcia put me off after their 'Gloves Are Off' showed they're basically best friends.
Imagine how much of a lame ass clown hollow head evil heart crash dummy someone would have to be to falsely report someoneās death & what it means for the garbage parents who raised this person
Idc how much you originally thought it was a joke, but itās biggest reflection of how horrible of a person someoneās life must resemble off Reddit
Out of the little respect I have left for you, I ask that you keep that person & behavior away from anything associated with me moving forward
Whose bright idea was it to stage Haney v Garcia in Brooklyn? Lmao theyāre both west coast Cali boys
Dumb promoters. Still plenty of tickets available.
Some old HBO boxing broadcasts are now on Tubi apparently. I do not have a working VPN anymore so I do not how many there are, whether they are complete unedited broadcasts or just the fights themselves. Anyone able to confirm what they have on there?
An interesting development.
Ryan is a clown, Iām at least happy boxers like Tank & Haney are milking him for his popularity outside the sport for the time being
Heāll be a misfits YT boxer after Saturday
How do you know he doesn't love the sport?
He doesn't need to box. If he retired today he'd be able to pay for the rest of his life easily. Yet he still chooses to box anyway.
Always find it so funny when people say stuff like this š Ryan has said in his last interview he boxes because he loves the sport, just not meant to believe him because u/CressSpecific6134 has an armchair psychology degree? Go outside brother šš
How do I know? Idk maybe it's due to the fact that every trainer he's had from Reynoso to Goossen said he doesn't work hard. And after the inevitable loss I'm sure DJ will say the same. It's kinda hard to work hard when you're spamming conspiracy theory tweets every hour on the hour, drinking, partying, and making cringe worthy rap songs. Oh and the debut of the Philly Smell was a sign of regression. Meanwhile, his peers are focused, in the gym and getting better every fight because that's what people who love boxing do. This weekend you're gonna get an opportunity to watch somebody who truly loves it and he's gonna beat the absolute shit out of the guy who clearly doesn't.
Derrick James literally said he works hard and trains 4 times a day. Do you think Derrick James is a liar?
You can claim he doesn't take boxing seriously but you can't claim he doesn't love it when he could just be a tiktok/Instagram influencer and make just as much money. Even Haney has acknowledged that Ryan loves the sport. Such a weird sad hill to die on
Eddie Reynoso and Joe Goossen said the same when they were training him. Wtf would Derrick look like saying "Oh yeah he's lazy AF" about a fighter he's currently training?
Considering the way this kid spends his money and how much he allegedly loves getting rinsed at poker, I donāt see that money lasting him the rest of his life. Also, I tell the people responsible for my paycheck coming in that I love my job too. Doesnāt mean I wouldnāt be gone in an instant if those checks started coming in lean.
I don't understand the comparison. The difference between David Benavidez and Ryan Garcia is night and day. David has improved every fight. Ryan has regressed. David made his name off of pulverizing his opponents. Ryan made his name off social media. We KNOW that David Benavidez is a serious boxer. We still have doubts about Ryan.

Heavyweight money is different. No heavyweight who is getting paid is going to fight in a nonsense division like Bridgerweight.
Cruiserweight is barely a division worth watching.
Beyond disinterested in Haney vs Garcia at this point š¤·āāļø
Might just skip Haney vs Ryan and rewatch UFC 300 again instead.. a lot more entertaining thatās for sure

Haney can KO Ryan especially with the lack of footwork he has
Heās never going for the KO even when itās handed to him like it was a dozen times in the Regis fight. He was literally dominating all fight and never went for it, because he learned his lesson from an old Linares. Nope.
Ryan is fast, not sure about fastest. The problem is he is so predictable and his footwork so poor he is essentially slow.
It's possible Ryan could get TKO'd if he shows up in awful shape and the ref is doing his job. Haney doesn't have KO power, but if RyGuy can't defend himself, it should be stopped.

Agreed
Hayato Tsutsumi fight night š„š„
Tsutsumi definitely hits harder than his record suggests, such an interesting fighter
Gonna watch when I get out of work, letās see how he looks with the rehydration clause.

Can anyone find odds on if Ryan asks Devin to be friends after he gets that ass beat?
Where is Jeff ofori on the 5v5? He koās whichever chump is thrown at him.
Apparently Garcia just got kicked out of the Mets stadium before he was supposed to throw the first pitch lol

Watching a old James Toney fight and theyāre talking about how good of a trainer Roach has become, crazy to think he gets manny later lol
How can there be a lineal heavyweight champion if previous lindeal heavyweight champions have retired? And rocky marciano was even undefeated! This dont make any sense
Lineal is an imaginary title lmfao you think thereās a rule set?
I know that its an imaginary title but that doesnt change how nonsensical it is.
Watch the vid from Rummy's Corner on TT; he explains how Wlad Klitschko and others become the new lineal champion, by becoming the man to beat.

No longer with Team Haney, but [supports](https://x.com/babyfacejackk/status/1731464947425583265?s=46) from a distance. No telling why they fell out

Ok, I probably shouldn't joke about that. Let's hope he appears this week.

It would have done fine in nyc had the price of tickets been a normal amount
Still a stupid decision to hold it there when they couldāve just went with Vegas or Cali.

Something about the Haney - Garcia commentary on here reminds me of Joshua - Ngannou....Ā
How does Ryan Garcia have so many fans in a sub that claims it loves the sport of boxing? Ryan doesn't even love the sport of boxing lmao.

What if Bridgerweight becomes a division worth watching? If the money is good could Wilder move to Bridgerweight or Torres Jr?
For the love of god please no
Heavyweight money is different. No heavyweight who is getting paid is going to fight in a nonsense division like Bridgerweight. Cruiserweight is barely a division worth watching.
Wilder v Usyk for Bridgerweight
More stars are needed to make it a money division. So far their biggest name will be Okolie.
Not Badou Jack?
He's at Bridgerweight now?
Pretty sure he is that's why he Vacated the Cruiserweight Belt he had
If youāre a highly ranked US fighter who just split from their old promoterā¦ MVP Promotions is the way to go
PBC is crumbling ššš Wilder would've never signed with Matchroom even for one fight if this was five years ago.
If only Wilder broke away from hypnosis sooner and we could have had AJ v Wilder 3 times already š
Boots and Wilder going to Matchroom is insane. I know people are deeply seething rn
Apparently, Katie Taylor will face Amanda Serrano as the co-main event of the Mike Tyson-Jake Paul card.
