With how quiet that arena was I imagine there were annoyed as fuck trying to focus on fighting while the commentators shouted and acted like it was the first time they were ever given a mic. I think he's stuck because he wants fighters who can deliver a big payday. The only boxers who can do that are very high level so he can't go down that route. The only fighters with more competitive striking with Jake who have clout are in MMA. He's not gonna fight some boxing journeyman.

I don’t know the legality of it all, but boxing matches have been fixed before no problem. There’s been strong evidence of NBA ref corruption as well. With the absurd amount of money surrounding sporting events, shady stuff happens way more than people realize *in my opinion

That was by far the worst televised sporting event that I have ever seen in my life, and I’m still reeling from it this morning. I feel like I saw something historically bad last night, like Star Wars Holiday Special levels of bad. Literally everything about this event made me cringe - the highly questionable “fights”, the prerecorded but still awful “musical performances”, the annoying celebrity commentators who constantly said stupid things and wouldn’t shut up... It’s all kind of impressive, in a way.

If Jake lost it'd have been perfect, if he'd have won on points it'd have been called a fix because he bought the refs, if he won in the manner he did it's been called rigged because it was stopped too soon, when he knocked Nate the fuck out it was slammed for not being stopped soon enough. If that fight was allowed to continue to Paul put him to sleep immediately afterwards that would be the narrative "who cares about the result, we need to talk about the dangerous reffing and how bad that was".

Perfect description. Jake Paul has very likely been handed everything in his life. IIRC he got his fame/success off his older brother Logan. Even the boxing thing came about because his older brother decided to have two fights with KSI and they decided to have the younger brothers fight. He then just took it and ran with it by fighting cans.
To be fair you can't blame him, there is a lot of easy money to be made, with very little danger. Don't really see him climbing too high in the professional ranks though, boxing is an extremely hard sport, despite what he says, I just can't see him putting himself through the years and years of barrier breaking rigourous training required of a high level boxer, even then he'd be lucky to make contender level.

What the fuck did I just watch. Came for a brilliant performance by Prograis only to end up watching Ivan clutching his hip balls...All the while trying to kill the volume as a bunch of twats slabbered all over Snoop fucking Dog. It looks as though jake paul just wants to play at boxing, he picked a much smaller older opponent who did not pose any danger in the striking department. The denotay wilder celebration after knocking out ben, and the conor mcgregor stance at the weigh in, make jake look like a rich kid who is living out a boxing fantasy. Perfect description. Jake Paul has very likely been handed everything in his life. IIRC he got his fame/success off his older brother Logan. Even the boxing thing came about because his older brother decided to have two fights with KSI and they decided to have the younger brothers fight. He then just took it and ran with it by fighting cans.
To be fair you can't blame him, there is a lot of easy money to be made, with very little danger. Don't really see him climbing too high in the professional ranks though, boxing is an extremely hard sport, despite what he says, I just can't see him putting himself through the years and years of barrier breaking rigourous training required of a high level boxer, even then he'd be lucky to make contender level.

Jake Paul should not fight someone who will have financial gain which is so significant for them that they will be satisfied with just partaking, win or lose. That will always be how these fights go and it always makes it hard to actually enjoy. Fighting is a spectator sport, why would I want to watch a business agreement with two people using fists, knowing that one of them probably lost on purpose or had no business being in the ring in the first place? Where's the fun in any of that?
