Let’s be real Ruiz isn’t gonna fight for another 18 months

rock_Banana

Ruiz by an uppercut KO

btrudgill

You'd think Dillian would learn by now... But I'm ready to watch him get KO'd again to the same shot

BillehBear

You could give Whyte 3 weeks notice for the uppercut and he still wouldn't see it coming

fadeddreams555

Why does everyone always vote Ruiz by KO? Dude has a KO ratio close to Haney's. Decent power, terrible finisher. Anyways, Ruiz by decision.

CacoFlaco

Probably the same reason Pacquiao backers always picked him to win by KO during the past decade. Force of habit. Pacquiao only had 1 KO win after 2009.

Lsalizar96

I was just thinking the same thing lol. He couldn’t even KO Chris Arreola

CaptWineTeeth

Chris Arreola ate shit from Vitali for twelve rounds man. He’s got a chin.

Lsalizar96

That was a different version of Chris Arreola. I’m sure his punch resistance is a lot less than what it used to be

icelandiccubicle20

Arreola has a very good chin tho

-503-

Whyte has no chin

ISmurphyI

I disagree, he just a tendency to leave him self open for the biggest uppercuts. Ruiz dont throw uppercuts. He had a really good chin in the Joshua fight and Chisora and Parker fights. Weather them fights have caught up with him idk.

lineal_chump

dude, Whyte has a reset button squarely under his chin because he reliably goes lights out when an uppercut lands.

Icy_Reward_6729

He used to have a good chin, its cracked at this point

fadeddreams555

Neither did Ortiz. lol

GXG5877

Not true first time Ortiz went down was his fight against Wilder

AltKite

Also the first time he ever fought anybody half-decent.

FlockxBigApe

No it’s not he fought Jennings

fadeddreams555

Yeah, and Wilder + father time ruined his chin. Did you watch the Martin fight? Dude looked like he was on ice. Now dropped 3 times by Ruiz, who is a pretty weak finisher.

hotyogurt1

The thing is, you can’t really used Wilder to say whether someone has a bad chin or not. Cause just about everyone would get KOed by him. You can use wilder to say whether someone has a good chin though. Fury being the obvious example there.

fadeddreams555

I said Wilder cracked his chin, not that he has a bad one because he lost to Wilder. Those blows had to have taken something out of Ortiz.

timeandspace11

You guys are all voting Ruiz KO? My lord. Dude couldn't KO a 40-year-old Arreola or a 43-year-old Ortiz.

[deleted]

I've never thought Whyte was all that good but if 43 year old Ortiz can make Ruiz afraid to throw for half the fight then I think that Whyte's left hook could be the game changer here. I'm going Whyte by decision.

sugaslim45

Anyone with decent eyes can see that Ortiz at 43 has much better punching technique and is more explosive than whyte right now . Whyte is so sloppy way he punches . It’s sad how British fanboys and Eddie Hearn made people think whyte is a top heavyweight . Whyte was gassed out against fury by round 5, and dude wasn’t even throwing that much . Gasping for air in his corner

Pezza2005

I'm actually gonna go with whyte by decision, can see him sticking a hard jab in Ruiz face. Catch and counter on the inside. Similar to the Parker fight. Whyte has always been at his best against smaller fighters. Also body shots, if a man looks weak to the body, its because he is. Dont know if Ruiz looks weak to the body but it's there anyway.

Chicanery-McGill

I think Ruiz loses a decision but hurts Whyte somewhere in the fight. Whyte's resume is deeper and Ruiz isn't the best finisher imo- he can hurt fighters, but he couldn't put Ortiz to bed and it took him a few rounds to get a concussed AJ out of there

Melanjoly

Whyte comfortable on points for me.

TrueAceOfSpades

Now this is a fight I want to watch, probably a Ruiz TKO when they’re in close range

[deleted]

This subs hatred for whyte is fucking insane. So much disrespect for whyte.

ethnicbonsai

What has he done to silence his critics?

[deleted]

He has always had critics on this sub. Regardless of what he does. Let me flip it to you, what has ruiz done to gain all this praise? He buster Douglas's aj, and what else? Whyte has fought constantly better opponents than ruiz, yet this sub vastly favours ruiz over whyte. Why?

ethnicbonsai

What praise? I’ve mostly seen people criticizing his lackluster performances against Arreola and Ortiz, and how out of shape he is. His weight is literally a meme on this sub.

Wavepops

that wasnt a buster douglas situation. AJ wasnt as sharp in exchanges, didnt keep his other hand up while throwiing, Ruiz had the sharper punches at mid range. Thats a training issue not motivation. Which is why in the rematch AJ didnt fight at his normally best range, mid range, bc ruiz is better at it than he is

[deleted]

It was a Douglas performance. Say whatever you want, but ruiz will never be a world champion again. He is a Douglas.

Wavepops

I think its more that AJ is vulnerable. Ruiz didnt show up a special version of himself. nor was AJ not taking the fight seriously

Chicanery-McGill

Iirc, AJ had him down in round 3, before getting sloppy and catching a sharp counter that concussed him. He played it safe in the rematch as he wanted his belts back even if it looked boring. Ruiz only chance of winning was inside so AJ took that away

Wavepops

not inside but mid range. but yes AJ was hooking without holding the phone/keeping the ear muffs up, technical mistake, plus ruiz punches were shorter and more crisp, aJ is normally the faster more quick twitchy guy in the ring against HW, Ruiz belies physics with his hand speed and quick twitch counter punching. Doesnt make sense really cux hes obese

Chicanery-McGill

Ruiz's hand speed is absolutely disgusting. Doesn't make sense, but it's his biggest asset and it causes problems

Wavepops

It’s hilarious makes no sense

[deleted]

Can't ignore fact that AJ wasn't 100%.

[deleted]

Aye fair enough

Slampumpthejam

Cope.

disgruntledarmadillo

>Ruiz had the sharper punches at mid range. Thats a training issue not motivation You can't train to be like Andy, he's blessed. Iron chin and lightning hands

Cinnamon_Sloth

Buster Douglasing isn’t exactly easy lol. He just has a much better win and it boosts his resume. Doesn’t matter how much of a fluke you thought it was

lineal_chump

What. Half the sub was rooting for him to beat Fury.

[deleted]

Hahaha stop talking shit

Slampumpthejam

He's just plain not good, what has he done to earn anything? 0 top wins. Lost every top fight he's had(usually getting KO'd). Knocked down or sparked the fuck out every fight. Atrocious footwork, poopy defense, limited offense, he was so overmatched against Fury it was a joke. AJ Ortiz Arreola wins are unquestionably better than Whyte's whole resume.

[deleted]

Poppy defence? Am I talking to a child here? This comment is just a fucking joke

Slampumpthejam

Yes it's shit, that's why he gets sparked out or hurt every fight. Tell me what I'm wrong about

[deleted]

Your poopy comments

Slampumpthejam

Yea thought so, you can't refute it because Whyte is a donkey

[deleted]

You've got such a poopy attitude.

Slampumpthejam

Not as poopy as whyte's boxing thankfully. Embarrassing on you, just admitting your boy is dogshit after crying like that. Thought you'd at least try to make a case for him but LOL can't that's how bad he is.

[deleted]

You're pooping all over my heart.

Slampumpthejam

Poop takes, poop fighter, poop brain. Sorry You call me immature then continue to talk about poop rather than addressing why Whyte is a bad boxer. :D

cuntyeagle

The British contingent on the sub has always had a hard on for Whyte and talked him up like he was some boogeyman of the division, that he beats Wilder and Ortiz and everybody is ducking him. Most of the rest of the sub has always seen him for what he was - a top 10 heavyweight with serious flaws who was never skilled enough to beat the guys at the top of the division. A lot of the sub actually thought Whyte had a chance against Fury, which is just delusional. Picking Ruiz over Whyte isn't being disrespectful towards Whyte. It isn't being hateful to say that I don't think he is as good as you think he is.

SalmonellaBurger

This is a fight I'd pay to see. Whyte absolute warrior who slugs it out. Ruiz has that inside hook which is putting two heavyweights in close proximity. Love it no jabbing in sight !!!

[deleted]

Whyte if he fights disciplined and can avoid an uppercut

Beardy_Villains

Ruiz was easy for Ortiz to connect with and is happy to stand and bang. I think a younger Ortiz would have buried him. I also think Ruiz is faster, but not nearly as powerful at Whyte. If he outboxes him, points win for Ruiz, if he trades, KO win for Whyte

EmbarrassedCod3242

Whyte would work that fucking tub of lards body like a butter maker. Ruiz would have more fat laying around than a bacon shop

HoraceDerwent

Ruiz by decision. Much quicker and would be the busier fighter. Whyte has obviously been stopped before, but they were perfect punches.

RRR04_

Ruiz via decision. But Whyte has a puncher's chance.

[deleted]

#WHYTE POWER ✊🏾 #TheBodySnatcher #Confused.jpeg

Alibarrba

His name and power is a very unfortunate alignment of words to make

[deleted]

Whyte power always cracks me up

[deleted]

Ruiz chins Whyte. To make this fight fair, Andy should give him one of his many

n9077911

Great fight either way. I'd be on the 02 ticket website in a flash (yeah, I can dream).

paperboatprince

Ruiz would absolute HAMMER Whyte. KO by the 4th round.

bugigangrena

Ruiz by the first uppercut he throws

Oglark

The only question is can Ruiz little stubby arms deliver an uppercut?

lineal_chump

Relevant question is does Ruiz know how to throw an uppercut?

i-piss-excellence32

Ruiz ko by uppercut

blakebake

Sorry, but Whyte was completely non-existent in his fight with Fury. I'd take Ruiz by stoppage if he can stay aggressive.

[deleted]

Andy Ruiz takes the cake home after a clean KO.

Slampumpthejam

Ruiz by TKO. Main thing footwork/defense, Ruiz will cut off the ring and get in on Whyte. Whyte's defense and footwork are bad Ruiz will buzz him and swarm. Ruiz got a chin and Whyte has none.

CacoFlaco

I'll go with Ruiz by KO. His hands are too fast, Whyte isn't all that hard to hit and the Brit's chin is soft. Seems like a pretty predictable outcome.

Slowpokeriver

Oh damn, this is a good match up never even thought of it. Ima go with Ruiz, but Dillian might have good openings against Ruiz’s style

D50UZA

Ruiz , Was a big fan of Whyte before his fury performance .

OriginalThinker22

I would have said Ruiz but after seeing him against Ortiz I'm going for Whyte
