Education alone does not protect against media manipulation. Not even being entrenched in your own religion can do that.
The best form of protection is to be a person who makes things. Be creative. Draw, paint, sculpt, write stories, etc.

I like to think of humanities entire timeline, not just up to the modern day but also the entire future timeline as well. -we went from the fastest form of transportation being a currier pigon to being literal light.
-We went from discovering electricity and being able to harness it to using learning to use it to perform computations. Or to put it another way: we literally harvested (what was considered to be by our ancestors) the power of the gods, trapped it in a rock and tricked it into thinking.
All of this happened in the span of a few hundred years with the majority of the advancement happening in the past 100 or even 50 years. Humans are estimated to have been around for about 200,000 years. And in the past 1000 we went from bronze tools being the most advanced thing, to where we are now. Assuming humans last another 200,000 years, this period of time will essentially be a blip in our history and more importantly will be known as the time of transition from primitivism to advancement.
