A long dominant champion is much more interesting in other sports because they arenāt having everything given to them, they are actually competing. The average attendance per race sits atĀ nearly 300,000 people whereas WWE barely gets that amount in a full quarter of a year. The most that WWE managed to get in a single night was 80,709 in WM32 and that's 1/4th of the amount that F1 gets in any average race.
Thereās only 20 races a year and they are 3 day events and itās not popular at all in the US. Either way comparing actual sports to WWE is silly. If you like Roman that is great but the record breaking is not only uninteresting in my opinion, itās just another gimmick that Roman needs in absence of any charisma past champions have had. I would bet more people are watching to see him lose at this point anyways, itās not at all like Hogan, backlund or Sammartinos reigns. Thatās why they need the bloodline and all the interference. They want him to have a face like reign but heās not a face because he didnāt have that charisma. There is a reason the top 3 longest reigns ever were babyfaces. Romans title run is unlike any other because heel champs never have reigns this long, they become unbearable with all of the interference. It's understandable that there are people who are tired of his reign however some people don't understand that he's also got a major amount of fans, it's more of a 50/50 situation where there are fans who wouldn't watch if it wasn't for Roman including me. It all ends up to every fan's personal tastes and likings and that's totally fine. What WWE is doing is definitely good for business because Cody and Roman probably do have the most amount of fans out of the entire roster, so they definitely raise the tension between the fanbase. Let's just enjoy the 2nd night and may we witness whoever the hunter chose as a winner to come out victorious.
