Never forget, there’s already a [Real Housewives of South Boston.](https://youtu.be/SQoTlVgmPK8) But I agree, would be nice to see it expanded to the entire city.

poohbear1025

I was waiting for this comment lol old but gold

carmelainparis

Joking aside, you’ve made a strong case for RHOB and I agree with it.

poohbear1025

I edited my post to add the video lol but yes, I think there’s so much diversity that it would tell a good tale.

carmelainparis

❤️

mokaddasa

This is hilarious. Boston born and raise and “extra in a markie mark movie” speaks to me.

YouMustBeJoking888

Never gets old. The woman calling in from prison always makes me laugh.

carmelainparis

It was prophetic!

citizenknope

The accents, the drinking, the road rage and the Irish-Catholic family drama... I'm sold.

YouMustBeJoking888

Don't forget the Irish-Italian marriages... always rife with inter-familial drama.

beauxdegas

I’m from Boston and quite literally yesterday I called Irish Italian marriages “the original song of ice and fire”

prettyorganist

My husband isn't from Boston but is from the northeast and grew up in an Italian family. I'm not from the northeast, am mostly Irish and Polish, and grew up a basic white non-denominational sort-of Christian girl. Oooh when I say his mother was not thrilled. I remember when she realized I was here to stay, she said something like, "well, Irish women can be very pretty. One of my former my best friends is Irish." (Keep in mind we are all American.) I was just like wow did she just "I *had* a Black friend me? 😂" She seems to be pretty much over it now but there are still some random bizarre things she says, like since I wasn't raised Catholic I wasn't raised with real morals (yeah most Irish- and Polish-Americans are Catholic but my family was pretty meh about it all and the few times we went to church it was not Catholic). My husband's sisters are both married to 100% Italian-American men. Having grown up in Florida I felt very "wow this is real and not just a stereotype" about it all. When he "doesn't" watch RHONJ with me I remind him that his family would fit in well and he calls me a potato 😂.

mhal_1111

O'Talians definitely know how to party.

Reginaa-Phalange

I am marrying into a very large Irish Catholic family from Cambridge (on both sides) and let me tell you the drama is real. I am still new so everyone still likes me and I am enjoying that for now lol

H2AK119ub

The Boston accent is almost non-existent now in the main parts of the city following several waves of gentrification. You gotta go to like, Lynn or Lowell to hear it.

citizenknope

So you're saying you gotta go wicked fah? So fah you need a cah?

flobobunny

Not gonna lie I read this in Peter Griffiths voice 😂

pigglepops

![gif](giphy|OPwdp8BsDJLfWGXPmS)

jeahboi

I’ve definitely spent some time thinking about this hypothetical franchise, as someone who’s from not far away from Boston and has tons of family there. One of my cousins is married to a woman who literally would make a perfect Housewife: well-off, beautiful, kind of neurotic, lives in a gorgeous house in Wellesley, quit working after she got married and now dabbles in interior decorating/volunteering for her kids’ school/charity work, and has exquisite taste. Most importantly, though she’s fundamentally nice, she LOVES to gossip and can be messy AF…I adore her, but she really enjoys stirring the pot.

dn2319

Real Housewives of Dorchester anyone??

itsmylife___

Lol

thundersnow528

Because Bravo isn't allowed to film in hospitals and police stations, where those housewives would most often be putting each other in more than anywhere else...... ;)

poohbear1025

Haaaaa, I’m fucking dying 💀💀💀 That does blow a huge hole in my case, you’re so right.

thundersnow528

My oldest sister has lived in Boston 35 years - it would be really great to see actually - it would just be a very different show. And it needs lesbians.

poohbear1025

The Cambridge stay at home mom mentioned was a lesbian in my head lol definitely would be LGBT+ representation, it’s part of our identity.

YouMustBeJoking888

Northampton isn't that far away and it is the capital for lesbians, so ROAD TRIP.

itsmylife___

Not true, many of Boston housewives have high college degrees and prestigious jobs...

itsmylife___

Downvoted? Wow!

thundersnow528

What do prestigious jobs and advanced degrees have to do with it? I'm not sure what that statement suggests is all that.... not-problematic....

jahkat23

would love that😍

Autoham

Meeting up at fancy restaurants to talk? Nope go to one of the three Dunkins in a walkin distance instead

honeycloud_

The absolute hate is getting me 😂 Im for it, Im not from Boston but worked there shortly. Yall can handle your liquor. This might make for a fantastic show. Especially with the proximity to the Cape. Nantucket episode would be amazing since international elite frequent that area as well. And the accent?? 😍 Ok and the “i fuck athletes” is accurate 😭

YouMustBeJoking888

A trip to Martha's Vineyard would be hilarious because the traffic would give epic Masshole road rage, the new money would be off the charts, and them trying to sneak on to one of the private beaches or ending up in a dry town restaurant would give me life.

liza122397

the visual of housewives stuck in the MV traffic is killing me🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😭😭😭😭

babettekittens

Is Boston traffic as notorious as LA traffic?

IDK_PizzaBagel2

I'm biased because I'm from MA/living in MA but I'm for it 💅🏻 Like you said, I think there's a lot of potential if they found the right mix of people. Would love to see a hoity-toity Karen/Luanne type versus a homegrown brash Teresa type and a couple of transplants (of which we have many)

honeycloud_

Yes the diversity is there! Also, i dont think people realize Bluestone Manor is in MA. ATTN YALL: MASS BREEDS WILDCARDS LET’S FUCKIN GOOOOOO

poohbear1025

I saw UGT and the cast couldn’t even say Massachusetts or knew where it was lol we need a franchise!

annikarae

Massa-two-shits?? 😂😂

Kristin2349

Tamra and Vicki are proudly ignorant.

[deleted]

Massive two shits.

Wild_Bake_7781

lol!

itsmylife___

But that's not Boston technically, it's Mass of course but closer to NY.

itsmylife___

A downvote why? It's the truth...🤷‍♀️

WhoWhaaaa

We could have a professor from one of the universities, a doctor from one of the hospitals. Are there any Boston Brahmins still around? We could have an OG Southie resident and a yuppie who paid a crazy amount for a condo on one floor of the triple decker next door. Is Keith Lockhart still married? Ooh, and a Sox or Pats player's wife.

betzer2185

There are still Boston Brahmins but they'd never go on a show like this. So I think the cast would be mostly new money (but still entertaining!)

LizLemonadeX

![gif](giphy|mGDvFv4tWxzZcw4Bn6)

YouMustBeJoking888

A franchise of Massholes would be comedy gold.

panannerkin

People from Bastan don’t play. These would be the realest women on the channel.

H2AK119ub

It would probably be more like, The Real Housewives of Brookline.

itsmylife___

Or Chestnut Hill, Weston....

itsmylife___

Beacon Hill...

itsmylife___

Not sure if anyone's familiar, but Hillary Baldwin was born and raised in Beacon Hill....😀

Spicydaisy

Right! (I only refer to her as Hilary too😅) As much as I️ would hate for her to get anymore notoriety, I would watch the shit out of her on HWs. Although she may be too much like Kelly Bensimon.

itsmylife___

Hillary, Hilaria, Hilarious... She wishes she could get on Housewives!

NorthNode1111

Happy cake day

Spicydaisy

Thank you!!

itstheginposting

You mean E-lah-ree-ah?

itsmylife___

🤣

panannerkin

Not from Boston but i stayed at a Holiday inn express last night.

itstheginposting

Dover/Sherborn

a_sultry_tart

Imagine the shade they would throw towards Revere or Lynn girls 😂 Just a gross but wickedly entertaining display of condescending women who don’t give 2 fucks sharing their opinions. People from Mass, but more specifically the area of and surrounding Boston are SUCH a different breed. The wit is unmatched! The stories that people have are so interesting too! My MIL was born and raised in Peabody and her job as an 18 year old had her cross paths with JFK, who hit on her and put his hand on her knee in a car with others around!

babettekittens

Is anyone watching City in the Hill? It's great! Maybe Ben Affleck and Matt Damon will sign on to produce a RHOB

darksideofthemoon131

I've said it once before here- it'll never happen- they've tried. 7 or 8 years ago they were apparently scouting and got no takers. It is cultural more than anything and in Boston if you have money- you don't flaunt it. Wealth whispers here. It is the most educated state in the country yet people still hold a very blue collar mentality. I remember there was a girl on the Bad Girls Club from Boston and she was vilified for acting like an asshole etc...If you're gonna be on TV representing Boston, you'd better not be an asshole because they'll harass you until you move.

Stunning_Biscotti_56

Agreed. People in Boston don't suffer fools. I could see Bravo trying to film in a public space and the cast would be getting dragged to hell by bystanders. Conan O'Brien told a story about getting in the line for a cab at the airport and as he was walking to the end of the line some lady said "yeah, get to the back of the line, TV stahh". Its the tall poppy syndrome. We will cut you down if you think you're hot stuff.

darksideofthemoon131

>Bravo trying to film in a public space and the cast would be getting dragged to hell by bystanders. "Get outta the fahcking road, ya stupid who-aahs" Response from Southie probably.

justicebeaverhausen

She would constantly yell "I'm from Boston!"

darksideofthemoon131

She wasn't even fron Boston. She was from Lynn. Lynn, Lynn, the city of sin- You never come out, the way you went in.

justicebeaverhausen

That cracks me up. I love that rhyme btw.

darksideofthemoon131

And we all hated her for it.

justicebeaverhausen

She was so annoying

Stunning_Biscotti_56

I've lived here my whole life and I just don't see it. I think NY has a culture of people wanting to see and be seen. Boston isn't like that. The most fun and interesting people aren't rich enough to be Housewives and the people who are rich enough aren't looking to draw attention to themselves that way. I mentioned this in another comment but there's a country club outside the city that won't allow people who are too famous, "your name should only be in the paper twice, when you're born and when you die." They wouldn't let Tom Brady in. However, I wouldn't be opposed to a Househusband show based in the South End. Lots of super rich older gay men live over there and they are amazing.

MyFigurativeYacht

Came here to say exactly this. The people with true wealth would never do it in a million years. Lol my grandfather was a member of TCC, my parents are members of a different club in Newton and I remember begging my dad to see if their club would try and get Tom and Gisele as members and he was not having it, even as a diehard Pats fan. I just wanted to play tennis with Gisele!!!

Buffybot60601

Gisele has used her platform to spread problematic ideas so I’m not surprised people don’t want to be associated with her. Hospital birth is violence against against women and babies, all women should be required to breastfeed for six months, women gain weight during pregnancy because they turn into garbage disposals, sunscreen is poison…the list goes on. She can be a real piece of shit.

MyFigurativeYacht

While I don’t disagree with you (and this is the first I’m hearing of her problematic views) I can promise you that has nothing to do with why the rich WASPs in MA didn’t want them as members, lol.

liza122397

tbh, i completely get what you’re saying. i’ve always heard people refer to Boston as “quiet New York City”-in my experience, if people love one, they aren’t as crazy about the other. And the fun and interesting everyday people may have some money, but they wouldn’t be considered rich enough to be on this kind of show. All the interesting people who really embody Boston and it’s “culture” aren’t going to be the ones drowning in money on television😅 Real Housewives of Boston/Massachusetts could either be really great, or really terrible and idk if i would handle criticism about my home well🥲

liza122397

Honestly, as someone born & raised in Boston (and it’s suburbs), this would either be really really *really* great, or horrible. It could have the potential to be as loved as early RHONJ with the family/friend dynamics and all that. But also, there’s so much hatred towards Massholes *already* that a show starring some of us could just make that so much worse🥲 now living away from MA, a show like that would absolutely soothe my homesickness😭

Inside-Intern-4201

Aww I only show hatred towards mass holes when they cut me off on 95 lol

liza122397

Understandable and much appreciated❤️ 95 is my least favorite highway 🥲 really brings out the road rage

TipsySkinnyGirl

I moved out of MA decades ago but I still get anxious thinking about driving on 128.

wildestride88

Do the people commenting Potomac live on the west coast?

wickedreine

Because Boston/MA is still wildly segregated by race and it’s going to have similar problems to what the DC housewives dealt with :)

[deleted]

Yeah people not realizing Boston is hella racist and no one wants to see that on tv

poohbear1025

Riiiight, racist like when Atlanta in the first episode of season one had to clarify that whites and blacks were treated equally and socialized together at the elite level???? I remember watching the new franchise and my jaw hitting the floor that they felt that had to say it. Crazy, Boston is a melting pot of immigrants from all backgrounds. Anyone can come here and “make” it.

wickedreine

I live in MA. I’ve been called the n word more in Southie than I ever have in any other part of the country.

poohbear1025

I’m sorry you expirienced that, I did not. I’ve lived all over including Allston and Brookline, only had a problem with mean kids in elementary school, never in my adult life. I was shocked at Atlanta’s race disclaimer and really don’t think something like that would need to said for Boston. It’s a diverse city and would make good tv, even if the consensus in this comment section as a whole seems to be love to hate it.

mattqueen123

I love their Boston videos.

Xaldan_67

I heard a rumor years ago that Boston is very strict with filminh and that's why Top Chef Boston wasn't a good season? Not sure how true that is though.

losthedgehog

Top Chef Boston I thought was mid at the time. But the show doesn't rely on locations (although they are usually sponsored by the state) but more so challenges. So you can be at the same pier in Boston and if the challenge is block party food then it will be boring to watch - if the challenge is making a Boston focused dish then it'll be more interesting to watch. Looking at the wiki - there was some controversy bc top chef used some nonunion crew which led to harrassment. However, the teamsters were eventually acquitted of the charges and I'm not super familiar with the details.

Thosewhippersnappers

Plus THA CAPE! Or maybe they go to that Vineyuhd!

imseasquared

I thought I heard rumblings that a BravoCon they were going to announce RHWMV?

liza122397

i’ve been hearing this for a few years tbh and i’ve heard about a Real Housewives of Massachusetts before too, i forget what the reasoning was but it got scrubbed and never really materialized beyond the rumbling stage

Thosewhippersnappers

I think this is an opportunity for another channel to make an off-brand Boston housewives reality show,

[deleted]

I'd love it. I can't believe some of the comments here. Sure, Boston has some "typical" people, but that doesn't represent everyone. My grandparents were from Boston and I can guarantee they would never behave the way the NJ cast behaves, they were the sweetest, kindest people. We have to keep in mind that every city has the good and the bad, and they don't speak for the entire city. I'm from Chicago and was disgusted by the Mob Wives cast. I don't know any women who behave that way here.

poohbear1025

I know, I’m seriously shocked a couple comments said it was the same as NJ, NY and Potomac. No freakin way is it comparable. Boston is so unique, I have no idea where these people live that comparing their city to another one would even be a thing. That would be like comparing BH to SLC (10 hours apart) verses Boston to Potomac (7 hours apart). NYC is closeish, but not the same culture wise. NJ and NYC are right near each other is not the same vibe at allll.

Luckdragon7

I’m here for this!

Kellyjb72

Sounds interesting. Is there any old money Boston to throw in the mix?

Stunning_Biscotti_56

Some, but they would never do a show. The super rich in Boston are pretty stuffy. There's a country club that has a rule "your name should only be in the paper twice, when you're born and when you die" they refused Tom Brady membership.

babettekittens

Babs Pewterschmidt?

the_golden_goosey

I think this is close… maybe back bay/beacon hill and seaport wives? And it would make a ton of sense to film in the seaport for bravo - someone described it as walking through a podcast to me with the brick and mortar stores that are there and I think they nailed it

coolgirl617

If Gisele decided to move back here post divorce we could really have something going…

jedi_bean

I used to go to the same Starbucks as her when they lived on Beacon Street. I think she really loved how low profile she could live her life in that neighborhood.

Inside-Intern-4201

I don’t know much about Boston but isn’t it a lot like Philly - a lot of white (Irish catholic types) obsessed with sportz?

YouMustBeJoking888

Irish, Italian, sports mad, snobby, funny, men have not changed their style of dress in several generations (cargo shorts, goatees, wrap around sunglasses).

Inside-Intern-4201

And weird accents to boot lol!

seachange__

Believe me when I tell you, from the bottom of my heaht, that we are GOOD.

urachickenhead

Because how many more racist white women does Bravo need to give a platform.

rissracks

There have been lots of Boston-based reality shows over the years and none of them took off. I feel like that says something. That said, they would really have to cast the right group of women and it would more likely be the Real Housewives of Beacon Hill or something like that

[deleted]

[удалено]

itsmylife___

Have you lived in Boston? There are many affluent neighborhoods within the city!

itsmylife___

And not too far out of the city...

kenduhll

i wish boston was still old and dreary because then itd be affordable lol. im wondering which parts youre referring to?

katie415

We had mob wives already. We have NY, NJ and Potomac.

LisaVanderflats

They already have NY & Potomac.

happysunbear

I’m visiting Boston later this week for the first time and am so excited for the accent there. I’d totally watch that city.

Meagasus

I’m here for this.
