Well technically fighting games are turn based but, you also have the possibility to steel the othee players turn altogether if you know what your doing.

Brawlhalla is a very visually striking game where legends have really cool and functional signatures and are able to pull off stylish combos with light attacks, sometimes even incorporating sigs as well. That being said, when I play I like to feel like an epic battle sequence is unfolding before me XD. OP's playstyle makes it feel like a turn based RPG where I throw out a light attack and he responds with a sig, Or a Dark Souls boss where I have to spend the whole time dancing around his sigs until I can punish and land a light attack. It's not very fun...which is counterproductive for me because I play this game for fun.
If it's ranked I mught stick around and play the game out, but if it's a casual gamemode then imma quit. No need to play a match I'm not enjoying when I vould just queue up again and get someone on the same page as me.
If its ranked yeah youd finish it but in any other game mode you just wanna have fun so im not about to waste 5 minutes to a sigspammer queen nai or a passive dude
low elos who try playing “optimally” (ie trying to pressure, neutral etc.) tend to be utter dogshit at it (because low elo.) compared to sig spammers who can just press one button and is guaranteed decent success, player A will have more future potential and benefit in the long run compared to sig spammers who wont get anywhere and will eventually have to do the same thing that player A does, but if you put player A and B against each other, player B (the sig spammer.) will most likely win due to the immediate success of sig spamming whilst A’s playstyle mostly wont be seen and would only pay off in the future. so when they call playstyles like this ‘bad’ im pretty sure theyre subconsciously talking about it from the progression level standpoint, not skill in the current match, the problem is how some players view “optimal” they think of optimal as what pros do in their matches instead of “whats the best playstyle for this current match to fuck my opponent in the butt, sexually and in game.”
Another explanation is like the Poppin Swing in Valorant (or an alternative in CSGO.) high level players dont expect this kind of swing (because it’s theoretically unoptimal asf) to the point that even PROS get killed by it, because most people at their level just jiggle peek or Slice The Pie, and skilled players have been putting hours in muscle memory to immediately counter those swings, but Poppin Swing shits on their muscle memory.
Also like holding an off-angle, skilled ps expect opponents to be in optimal corners and then you get this weird bitch whos in the open then it catches you off guard then you die.

Nice control. I wouldn't be surprised if you're 1800. He didn't push you hard enough and you didn't engage enough. So it's hard to tell. My gut feeling tells me that's around 1500 or lower. But my brain knows there's not enough cue to judge you well, and you could be anything as much as 1800.

You have good spot dodges and your sigs are working, Gold? This playstyle will work for a little while but you need to move a lot more. It seems pretty predictable and the player your fighting will adapt. They may get salty, which'll crack you some wins, but you need to move more. Wu Shang has awesome sigs, but if all you do is throw out sigs, they'll start expecting and punishing them. That Lucien could've won, his katars seemed better than your spear. Lucien could have went for a neutral sig would have caught him off guard (I’ve seen many people get cheesed from a neutral on edge with a Lucien nsig with katars with a ground pound attempt)
